𝚁𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜: 4.5⭐️ 𝚁𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠:

The first time I've read author H.M. Long was Hall of Smoke, a high fantasy novel whose storytelling is flawlessly told. Similarly to 𝐃α𝗋𝗄 𝐖α𝗍𝖾𝗋 𝐃αυ𝗀ɦ𝗍𝖾𝗋, another one of the well written fantasies I've ever read. I so much love it when the writing compells me at the start of the story. It gives more volume towards the enjoyment overall at the end.

Let me tell you how beautifully the writing is done here 👌 the pacing, construction of the sequence of events, the setting, and the world building so vividly expressed. I WAS DRAWN TO EVERYTHING. The pirate adventure was just good, reminding me of Pirates of the Caribbean in some instances.

I would also like to mention the fascinating magic system and lore. It was beautifully done, in my opinion, I was so drawn towards it.

The characters were just equally well written as well. So attached with my precious Mary and the crew. Charles Grant, which honestly finds myself so endeared DESPITE HIM DOING THAT, I still like him. Still emotional after that.

Not forgetting Sam, Fisher, Demery, Anne, Lirr, and the others, which obviously I am so attached as well. Most specifically towards Lirr, like this guy is so intriguing, I think I kind of not like how it ended up for him, wasn't fun of it, to be honest.

Speaking of Lirr, I truly want another instalment of Demery, Anne, and the Bretton crew or past.

Although there wasn't a romance in it, I definitely felt that pinning of Samuel. Honestly, I feel pity for the guy. The 2nd book will definitely give us romance, hopefully?

Overall, this was amazing. This book has been released since last year, so definitely check this one out ✨️ 2nd book will be out on July 9 💚 Hopefully romance will be cooking there 💚

Happy Release Day to this fascinating pirate adventure, fantasy novel series, 𝙱𝚕𝚊𝚌𝚔 𝚃𝚒𝚍𝚎 𝚂𝚘𝚗 (𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚆𝚒𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝚂𝚎𝚊, #𝟸) by author H.M. Long ♡

I'm beyond grateful to be able to read this in advance and witness one of the most intense, fun, character bonding *cough *cough* I've ever read and experienced in a fiction 😆

Furthermore, a lot of things happened here, so obviously, I'm so hyped and excited for the next instalment, especially after those intense events and the epilogue. A promising character duo I'm looking forward to, romance as well, and the lore wrap-up since I believe this is a trilogy ✨️.

As expected of author H.M. Long's writing, you will easily be captivated and compelled in the storytelling. As for Black Tide Son, the characters were what really endeared me so and what I was looking forward to.

I was so happy to have experience having Charles once again in this story. He was such a delight. The same goes for the existing characters. Although I was quite worried about their well-being, considering all the things that happened in this instalment.

I was also very surprised to care so much of Ben. He was such a compelling and kind of a complex character for me. Charismatic, sarcastic, and a good amount of sassiness. I did enjoy the journey of his character arc. For some reason, I just thought of Charles when writing this part 😆 I was also glad for Ben's development, which I was really rooting for his character as well aside from Sam and Mary.

As for Mary and Sam, this pairing frustrates 😆 I mean I love these 2 so much, but the level of miserable and kind self sabotaging and the push and pull going on with their romance stresses me so much that I wish I could just locked them myself since Ben didn't do that when they were in that scene. Long story short, I want a whole arc of these pairing being happy and lovey dovey. So I'm definitely hoping for the next to have Mary and Sam's romance be developed more.

Now, onto the main plot, Black Tide Son, finding Ben, the Ess Notti, the breaking in the prison, the running arc, and the finding cure. I'm not gonna lie, THEY DID STRESSED ME SO. So many intense events did happen here that I wondered how I was able to remember them. I would say this is a mix of character - and plot driven type of novel.

For all of that, I would like to point out the issue or the things that, in my opinion, did bother me a little. The storyline and the storytelling were a little bit slow and dragging for my taste, or it did seem like it.

Overall, I enjoyed it so much. It was compelling and a page turner. Highly recommended and so excited for the next instalment, especially for Ben and Charles duo and his crew 🩷

This month has been A LOT for me. I obviously have been more productive and driven (¿?) than the previous months. I think 🙈

With that being said, I also got myself a lot of new books to read for the next month and arcs as well that I just got that I can't wait to read.

Anyway, I've read a total of 24 books this month, which was surprising to me, not gonna lie 🤚🏽
