Skizz Attempt #1 (Seaspeaker)
cw vore & mouthplay (g/t, safe/soft, accidental)
Grian wallowed in the shallows of the sandy beach, gazing up at the sky as the two cleaner mers, Skizz and Zed, swam around him, occasionally brushing against his limbs or curling in the crook of his neck or in his wings. It was nice, and the sun made the water warm enough that it wasn’t uncomfortable to sit in. Skizz seemed to get bored of whatever game he and Zed had been playing, and instead glided towards Grian’s face, placing his palms on the avian’s lower lip. The wrasse chirped curiously, tilting his head at Grian, eyes wide in question. Skizz warbled out something else, but Grian shifted and scooped the mer up in his hands, shaking his head slightly.
“You know I don’t understand you, mate.” Skizz’s shoulders slumped, and his mouth downturned in defeat. He furrowed his eyebrows, then motioned for Grian to lower his head into the water. The avian obliged, submerging his mouth and watching the mer with curiosity as he slid off his hand and into the sea. The wrasse returned his palms to Grian’s lips, this time pushing them apart (not with much success, but the message was clear) until he could comfortably swim inside. Ah. Right. Cleaner mer. Grian held still, allowing the little fish to wriggle his way around, poking at his teeth and tongue. It felt incredibly weird, but the avian tried to keep his mouth open until Skizz had finished his prodding. This was supposed to be a normal thing for mers, and Grian didn’t know if it would be impolite to refuse the wrasse’s offer. He eyed Zed, noting the suspicious look of knowing the shrimp was clearly trying to hide. What was he- Grian was jolted out of his thoughts as Skizz suddenly made a leap for the back of his throat, bashing into the soft flesh and causing Grian to choke and swallow.
The avian paled at the feeling of squirming in his throat and was immediately hit with nausea. He’d never swallowed anything alive before. It was.. not fun. Grian didn’t even think the mer hit his crop before his body decided it had had enough and expelled the wriggling mass. Skizz hit the water with a splash and shook himself off, looking dazed but unharmed. The wrasse locked eyes with the avian and fell into an exaggerated pout, flicking his tail sharply, and Grian couldn’t help but feel guilty.
“I’m so sorry Skizz.. I-” He rubbed at his throat, cringing at the phantom feeling of where the mer had been just moments before. “I didn’t mean to swallow, It just- Are you okay?” Skizz looked at him with an emotion that he couldn’t quite decipher. Suddenly, Zed was at his side, clicking indignantly at the wrasse. He glanced up at Grian, and made a motion that he assumed meant ‘ok’. The avian nodded carefully, concern still clearly etched into his features before the two mers continued to bicker, exchanging warbles and clicks that Grian wished he could understand. Zed had that knowing look on his face again, and bonked Skizz harshly on the head before turning to Grian and chirping an exasperated sounding jab that he couldn’t help was directed more at the wrasse than at him. The shrimp waved at him, then turned and proceeded to drag Skizz away, disappearing under the waves. Guilt still ate at his insides, but he forced himself to turn away from the colorful forms and trudge back up the beach. He only hoped he hadn’t scared the two off for good.

To expand on how Lizzie is sacrificial lamb coded to me:
To me it's about how violence against Lizzie is often impersonal, removed from her, for the benefit of someone else, or for some symbolic gain. The sacrificial lamb, killed for meat or ritually to purify.
For starters, all four of Lizzie's deaths in Last Life.
Her first death immediately reads as very ritualistic. Lured into the dark by Joel to satisfy the curse infecting him. Joel fails to collect the reward from it, but when his axe can't finish the job, the universe itself deals that final blow via the zombie, clean and wrapped up with the death of the sacrifice, even if no benefit is gained from it.
Her next two deaths can be seen as a continuation of the previous, even if it happens later on in the series. Joel once again targets her to satiate the curse, and this time he does manage to finish the job with his axe. It only takes one shot, and is done silently, a quick slaughter she has no time to react to or fight. Next she's killed by Jimmy, the only difference being that he uses a pit of lava to burn her instead of using an axe.
And then Lizzie's final death in Last Life, which may be the most obvious example within the season. Lizzie is killed by Bdubs as part of a test. It has nothing to do with her (not that any of her deaths really did), her death was performed entirely for Bdubs' absolution. To purify him of the distrust the greens had in him. Lizzie had no room to fight, no way to see it coming- there was nothing she could do, because it had nothing to do with her. She was just the sacrifice to fulfill the deal Bdubs made.
It's not just her death's either. Look at the burning of the fairy fort. Of course, she wasn't the only target of this act, nor was she innocent. But the point still stands. BigB killed Cleo, not Lizzie, and yet it was Lizzie's forest that burned to ash under the cleansing flames of retribution (this is especially applicable if you consider how cleo and lizzie's alliance was built partially on fear in the first place, how lizzie felt like prey under cleo's gaze, how cleo threatened lizzie with cleansing fire within their first conversations on the server)
You see as well in Secret Life, how impersonal her deaths were.
Nudged down a slide and shot at the bottom, killed in one hit. Struck out of nowhere with little reason while invisible. And finally thrown off a ledge while trying to complete someone else's task.
Her final death is particularly noteworthy for how it interacts with the Canary Curse. The moment Lizzie died for the final time, it was the completion of a ritual, it was the freedom of the canary. Instead of being mourned, Lizzie's death was celebrated by Jimmy and those who wanted him freed. Lizzie's death was not about her at all, but rather an act of freedom for another person, which Lizzie was symbolically sacrificed to facilitate.
After death, Lizzie was used for the benefit of others as well. Her home was raided, her items used for the survival of others, and later on her body (*or at least, something representing her body) was dug up to be traded for an advantage by the man who would go on to win the season.
Then finally you have Wild Life.
First, Lizzie is killed by Skizz. By his own admission, it had nothing to do with Lizzie. She wasn't the point, it just as well could have been a literal sacrificial animal. Skizz simply needed a life, so Lizzie was killed quickly and impersonally. It was the same with Lizzie's next death to a creeper, also placed by Skizz. A few episodes later, she's killed by Jimmy for time, and, while this was something she agreed to (for once), it was still a clear example of Lizzie acting as a sacrifice. Later in that same episode she falls into a trap placed by BigB, not personally laid by her, but once again, impersonally, for anyone.
And then for her final death in Wild Life, Lizzie was collateral damage. A necessary casualty in Grian's grudge against Jimmy. Grian doesn't even address Lizzie directly, speaking only to Jimmy before killing them both, as if Lizzie wasn't even present, as if her death didn't mean a thing. It's fascinating as well that, for this death, not only did it have nothing to do with Lizzie, and not only did she have no chance to fight it or see it coming (as with all her final deaths), but Lizzie was also, literally, voiceless (because of trivia bot robot voice) in this scene.
So yeah. You could say I'm pretty Normal about Lizzie.

Watching Grian's POV is so funny because Mumbo and Skizz are always so paranoid of ANYTHING he does and Grian is just genuinely trying to keep them alive. Pretty much everything he does is for their benefit but they have a paranoid fear response I've only seen in prey animals.

Expanding on this post but specifically the Pearl part because, like, look at the name of this blog.
CW for very brief blood/gore description
Pearl decides to help the non hybrid Hermtjs with finding and containing some of the other hybrids. Her and Skizz are the least affected hybrids, though Skizz is bummed that he physically cannot enter the nether at the moment without bursting into flames, because that’s where Impulse has fled to. They decide to give him the job of wrangling False and Grian to distract him, seeing as his wings are actually more prominent now than they are normally, given the faintness of his celestial coding.
Pearl volunteers to chase down Ren, and in the process get Gem, Etho, and Zed safe. Normally, tracking another Hermit would be a pretty simple process. Joe and X have everyone’s cords on standby if need be. But they’re both not really in a state to be helping out right now, so she has to get them the old fashioned way.
If she could only willingly shift right now, she could have the senses of a wolf, or a dog, or a lion, anything useful. She might take the transportation abilities of something like her beloved moth form. She’s already ripped one of her postmaster shirts by randomly sprouting raven wings she wasn’t expecting to have earlier that day, and is currently dressed in one that’s adapted for wings. Alas, they refuse to come out now when she actually needs them.
The situation at hand is stressful, none of them have long term solution ideas, and she’s scared for her friends. For some reason this means her shift has defaulted to a prey animal, long rabbit ears and short tail refusing to budge.
She decides to go after them anyways, wanting to be helpful, and manages to follow them based on tracks. Being more animalistic means that, luckily, none of them have thought to take off in an elytra, so she can follow foot (and hand, as it seems Ren at least might be on all fours) prints. Pearl curses herself for not bringing her own elytra, but she had wanted to be prepared incase a set of wings unexpectedly came out again, and wings plus elytra was a clunky situation, like wearing boots over sneakers.
She has to start at the source of the problem. Ren is, as expected, running on all fours, seemingly having forgone shoes as his claws are fully extended on all appendages. His ears stick straight up, and he is growling in a way that Pearl is pretty sure his throat can’t normally do. But Pearl has tamed plenty of wolves before, and he’s too distracted chasing his prey to care about the woman rapidly catching up to him. With a well thrown bone, he’s distracted, and Pearl is able to hastily construct a wooden box to hold him. It’s not the prettiest thing she’s ever built, but it’s containing Ren for now, and he seems content enough with the steak she’s thrown in for him. She sends his cords in chat and goes to find the other three.
Zed is nearby, not quite fast enough to get fully away from Ren. Etho and Gem have the advantage of foxes unnatural speed, he doesn’t. He’s bleeding pretty badly, clearly having been bitten or scratched. If she had to guess, he’s probably only on one or two hearts. Frankly, it’s shocking that he’s lasted as long as he did, and Pearl suspects he may have actually respawned a couple of times and been hunted down again, if the new scarring on his neck is anything to go by. Maybe his spawn was set near Ren’s while they were working on something?
She only has a moment to wonder why his death messages didn’t show in chat before she decides to act now and deal with that later. Pearl gives him a healing potion and some bread (he’s a hybrid, not an actual sheep, despite how he’s acting right now, and it’s the closest thing to straight up wheat that she can give him), promising to come back for him, before sending his cords in chat as well. He’s a little out of it, just bleating softly and chewing on the bread. It’s disturbing to see a normally sharp mind so dulled, but Pearl has more things to attend to and can’t stay to keep him company.
It isn’t until she catches up to Gem and Etho, a little further ahead as they had kept running when she caught Ren, that she realizes her mistake. See, wolves may hunt foxes and sheep, but foxes hunt rabbits. The tail and ears from earlier have stubbornly stayed, the random shifts from when the situation first started have calmed down but she still isn’t in control.
She once again pleads with her body to shift into something different. Anything! Anything other than an animal that foxes are hard coded to kill! But the shift doesn’t come because of course it doesn’t, nothing is cooperating today, and so Pearl does what a rabbit does best when facing down a fox. She runs.
She starts heading towards spawn, in the desperate hope that another one of the unaffected Hermits will see her. It’s a long chase, and she keeps losing her lead as soon she gains it. They can run faster than her, but she can jump faster. Little bits of distance are gained when she hops up a ledge that they have to wind up to scale. It helps that the two them are injured from their own chase with Ren earlier. Gem’s hungry and calculated hunt is interrupted occasionally by flinching from horrible looking scratches on her back, and Etho’s sleeve is soaked in blood, letting out yelps of pain whenever he has to flex his arm to climb up to reach her. They’re both clearly exhausted from hours of running, but they can’t ignore the way they are coded to hunt. A few times, one of the two will catch up for a second, getting in a swipe of a claw or, just once, Gem taking a small nip of her calf as she scaled up a cliff.
Finally, after maybe an hour straight of running, they get to the spawn area. Theres a pit there, a simple four block deep hole that probably once held cows or villagers but is now empty, and Pearl side steps it. Gem, clearly flagging from her injuries, falls down into it, and seemingly decides it’s not worth it to try and find a way out, choosing to curl up instead. The normally fearsome fighter gives in, her eyes half lidded and tail thumping lightly against the grass. It’s clear she wants to keep hunting but has lost the energy to do so.
Etho is another story. He avoids the pit, chasing her in circles around it. He manages to get a bite of his own in, ruining yet another post master uniform as a chunk is taken out of her shoulder. But eventually, he too tires, and Pearl is able to get the upper hand, shoving him into the hole as well. He curls up beside Gem, clutching his own still bleeding arm. Pearl barely has the energy to chuck a splash potion of healing onto the two of them, and throw down some berries and salmon she had brought with her. She feels an exhausted embarrassment as she realizes she could have probably tried to distract them with those the whole time.
Pearl curses to herself as she reaches into her mailbag and realizes that was the last of her healing potions. She hadn’t expected to need one for herself. She sends off a quick message in the chat, letting the group know Gem and Etho are at spawn, before laying down in the grass and closing her eyes. After a few seconds, her breathing slows to a stop.
*Pearlescentmoon was slain by [entity:minecraft_fox]*
When Pearl spawns back in her bed, she chuckles weakly to herself. The rabbit ears and tail are gone, replaced with talons and massive snowy owl wings wrapping around her protectively. An old form, but a favorite.
“You couldn’t have done that a little earlier?”
The rest of the Hermits are more than understanding when she decides to hole up until her shifts are back under her own control again. And she takes solace in knowing that when all is said and done, the four she tracked today will owe her big time. Especially Etho.

also like. extremely interesting to me how their abandonment issues kinda manifest themselves in different ways. i know i talked about bigb’s side of this back when secret life was ongoing but i don’t care i’m doing it again. also i’m talking about secret life because i think it a: gives us the best examples of what i’m talking about and b: it’s the direct aftermath of nosey neighbors
so with pearl. pearl’s issues manifest in sticking close enough to an alliance that they can’t leave her. in grabbing onto someone and digging her claws into them because she’s afraid if she lets up they’ll take the first opportunity to bolt. she clings tight to the mounders but she’s constantly worried they’re going to leave her. she tells them she’ll do anything for them, that she wants one of them to win so badly, tells them anything that she can to try and get them to stay. all she has to offer them is herself, so she gives all of herself over and she prays that it’s enough.
bigb hovers on the edges of his alliances. he doesn’t get close enough to grab onto someone because he’s afraid he’ll scratch them and they’ll turn him away. he hovers on the edges of the heart foundation, not living with them and only periodically appearing to see them. when he’s forced to get close enough to hurt them, he does, because he has to, and when they talk about it later, he spends the entire conversation terrified that this is the moment they kick him out the door. and they never do, but bigb’s too still scared to properly accept their welcome, so he keeps hovering and waiting until suddenly there’s no time left to wait, and there’s no time left for skizz to run from him, so he digs his claws in and tries to keep him alive.
and then it’s a downward spiral for them both, because bigb and pearl are always the ones who live. pearl especially, which makes me a little sick because like she says in the finale- she’s not trying to. she doesn’t want to outlive all her allies, she doesn’t want to be alone, and yet here she always is. and bigb doesn’t want to outlive all his friends, he doesn’t want to be alone either, but he wants to live and he never gets a real shot at it.
on the topic of pearl alliances. you would think that nosey neighbors, what with it being a team up of the two people in this series with the worst abandonment issues (in my opinion), would help them. yknow. fix those abandonment issues. and it sure didn’t do that huh.
#space rambles#this is a little nothing but. whatever.#apologies for bigb’s section being longer i haven’t watched any mounders povs in full#where as skizz is my main guy every season#so i’m more familiar with bigb’s side of this#also that scene with bigb tango and skizz talking about their alliance that i mention like. haunts me. so#also. something something pearl is a wolf who can’t let go of anything prey or ally#bigb is a bird who can’t get close enough to touch lest he hurt them or himself#something something. yknow

Thinking about the complete different types of villainy all of the life series members have.
Pearl and Cleo are the easiest comparison, Dl!Pearl had a very manic energy, she felt a little hysterical, not always in control, just swinging her axe at whoever spoke (I could make a whole post about that because I love her so much) while Cleo always has this very calm, in control energy, their most famous villainous act, burning the fairy fort, occured with her above Lizzie and the rest.
Gem's villainy is obviously a kind of sweet manipulative evil. Not much to say on her because she speaks for herself, she kills people and makes them love her for it, it's insane how she talks to people she literally just killed and gets them to thank her. (Like Pearl, hello shiny duo shippers)
Scar is manipulative, like Gem, and desperately wants friends, like Pearl. Although he doesn't quite have the manic energy or the in control feeling of Cleo, he's remarkably good at figuring out exactly what someone wants and offering exactly that but in a way that's wrong, he's like a monkey paw
Ren is obviously an overdramatic theatre kid, he has the stage presence of an old school Disney villain, he strokes his mustache as he hangs Scar over a pool of alligators and demands the banner back. Martyn has the kind of "mastermind behind the scenes but also intensely loyal" villainy, he may be running things, but whatever his king says, goes, and he'll enforce that to the ends of the earth (gay?) the entire red army has the vibe of a wolf pack (I love wolves and I'd like a disclaimer that they rarely attack humans and are not evil) circling in on its prey (the alpha/beta ranking system has been disproven but for the purposes of this allegory I will ask you to suspend your disbelief) waiting for their alpha's command before diving in with terrifying ferocity.
Martyn in every other series is a wild card. I think I saw someone say that he was broken by Ren's death and became an unloyal person because the last person he was that devoted to brought him pain. He's driven further into insanity. His betrayal of Scott feels like a natural conclusion of this. Cleo taught him that even when the game demands that he be paired, he will not be chosen, but he still chose to abandon Pearl who would have chosen him. In secret life, he pairs with Jimmy, who he knows will die, maybe he hopes it won't hurt as much since he knows it will happen, but it does, and then he's the only red, and he's then left out of a huge sever wide event because he's exempt. I'm ranting but I'm so feral about this little dude.
Joel is cursed. Saw someone call it the Dionysus curse, he goes insane on red, he's deadly, efficient, and takes exactly the amount of joy he should, he's an intensely effective hitman who never misses a shot, and never fails to celebrate a death.
Third life Skizz is a type of unhinged, like Pearl, following the wolf pack analogy, he's the one snapping and snarling, just waiting for the release and savouring the kill. He wants to go so fucking feral, he is pure emotion

The first half of this is Why X made Hermitcraft and where everyone came from and then the second half is watcher stuff which I think is really cool.
Ok so I Hc that there are multiple different reasons Xisuma created Hermitcraft 1) was because he wanted somewhere safe where misfits alike could band together as a weird mishmash family 2) a place he knew was safe and 3) to make a place were individuals who were running from their pasts could stay safe
- JoeHills is hiding from a couple of crazy obsessive Exs
- Doc is hiding from mojang
- Scar is escaped his insanely toxic religious family and some people he got on the wrong sides of.
- XB is there after a messy server corruption that was blamed on him and is a wanted criminal.
- Etho and Mumbo are running from scientists
- Impuse and Ren were running from the military cause they deserted.
- Skizz was running from actual gods but they gave up a while ago.
- Joel is trying to find his wife but stuck around on hermtcraft.
- Pearl was trying to escape Evo and really needed help
- Gem is actually a magical princess who ran from an arranged marriage to live out her life as a strong independent individual and since then her kingdom is crumbled and no one knows where the she went and was titled The Lost Princess
- Grian well we all know why he's there
- Cub was part of a super secret government project but left after the scientist lost the subjects and because of conflicting morals
- Bdubs commited war crimes while trying to save someone's life but ultimately he failed
- iJevin was running from the Watchers who had taken a bit of a liking to him.
I have more that I will build upon cause writing this is cool
Now Little bit of context for the watcher stuff I mentioned
Watchers are like god-like deities that were worshipped long before they became corrupt and evil with power, now only followed by cults. Some players still pray to the Watcher Xelqua since they are the only watcher to have gone against watcher code. Anyways They would prey on players scouting out the most talented ones and experiment on them. Seeing how they could change them, they took Grian because he was a promising young admin, they watched the players of Evolution and when the time came they took Grian made him a watcher and he escapes into Hermitcraft.
Xisuma specifically designed Hermitcraft to be watcher proof as 1) he hates them with every fiber of his being and 2) majority of the hermits (himself included) have a possibility of being kidnapped by the watchers if found by Them, for example Doc and Scar they would be seen as extremely powerful potential Watchers.
Doc because of his genius, technological skills and the fact he fought a mojang admin and lived to tell the tale.
Scar because of his strength in magic and that he's part vex.
So when Grian, Mr escaped watcher guy, drops in they're all in fight or flight mode, though most of them are ready to behead G. Obviously Xisuma is the one who handles it and all is good in the end.
The reason why the Watchers would want the Hermits is because they are all 'pure' their raw skills and determination alone is what makes them such a good group,
- Pearl because of her magic and her connection to the moon
- Mumbo and his experiences with cults and the fact that he's a vampire
- Gem and her otherworldly abilities,
- iJevin because his strength and smarts,
- Scar with his magical abilities and vex stuff
- Doc because his technology genius and cause he survived a fight with a mojang admin (he's the first and only one recorded to have lived substantially afterwards)
- Xisuma because of his admin powers and voidwalker power
- Ex same reasons as X
- Skizz cause of his angel counterpart
- Grian cause he's one of the strongest player turned watcher they've made and they want him back
- Etho cause of his cryptic eldritch powers and unknown hybrid status (there is reason to believe he is from the void)
- Cleo because of their skills in necromancy and magic.
And so on
They mainly aim for those who have magic already since they can enhance it and they're less likely to die but that's not always the case.
And that's all I have for now
.

Word Count: 570
Demons have sharp claws and fangs for a reason. They're meant to rip and tear and gauze into others, it didn't truly matter if they were prey or an opponent.
They were made to eat flesh, blood tasting sweet on their tongues.
This was something Impulse knew well, he'd grown up in the nether after all. A climate perfect for hunters, but not as perfect as the Overworld.
Angels, on the other hand, weren't truly made for it. Funnily enough, they rarely even needed to eat, able to go for days without food.
At least that's what stories say, but Skizz's nails are still talon-sharp and Impulse knows well how much of a threat they can be.
The demonic hybrid flicks his tail as he works, true form hidden and buried as he works. The waltz above the void had to be a careful one, not one that was bothered by the demon's bulky extremities.
But Skizz watched him carefully, a glare in those deep blue eyes.
“You haven't let your demon out in a while, have you?” Skizz says bluntly.
Impulse flicks his tail, snapping it in warning.
“You haven't let your angel out either.” He snaps.
The angel fluffies out his feathers, his expression still harsh but worried. “Don't turn this on me, Impulse.”
His instincts claw and beg to bite and snarl, Skizz looking down on him.
“What even happened? Did Bdubs break up–”
“No.” He can't keep himself from growling.
“Is it redstone?”
Impulse falls quiet, his tail snapping in warning.
“How long has it been since you last hunted?”
Again, he is dead silent.
“Impulse.”
“You know I usually hunt with Ren…” Impulse murmurs.
Skizz lets out an exasperated sigh. “Three and a half weeks? You've been using your glamor for three and a half weeks.”
He pauses before adding, “Straight?”
“You know neither of us are that.”
He can see just the barest hint of a smile on Skizz's lips before its (trying) to glaring at him.
“But seriously? Buddy? Dippledop?”
There's a careful movement over the precarious nothing, Skizz taking his hands in its own.
“I can hunt with you, Dipple.” He says gently. “I know it's been a while since the last time we did it together, but you already know I wouldn't mind.”
Impulse looks away, squeezing his partner's hands.
“C'mon, I know a great spot in our world that has a lot of hoglins we could take on.” Skizz tugs him lightly. “We can even actually eat it when we're done and I know how much you like their marrow.”
A smile tugs gently at Impulse's lips as he follows, not fighting as the angel takes over.
It's not long after that they get home, Impulse proudly dragging his catch behind him with little effort.
Blood covers his claws, his fangs, even dripping down his now sharpened horns from when Skizz had dared him to use them on it.
His tail sways as Skizz laughs, a pale blue glow that highlights the angel's eyes and feathers as he melds back into his human form. Impulse doesn't follow, demonic instincts now too strong to hide or bury.
But still, there's a hand on his own. One that isn't as blood covered, only hiding under that angel's nails.
There's a smile in those eyes, pride almost shining in them.
“C'mon, let's get you cleans up before you start complaining about the blood.”

More Gem drabbles!!
We like gem n this was heavily inspired by my highly caffeinated brain. Also took inspo from a fic called "Chasing the horizon line" by 1watermelontea and Nine_of_Diamonds on ao3 hehe.
----------------------------------------------------
What's in the waters?
Thats a question that often gets asked but remains unanswered in Geminitay's base. Some theories say that there's a giant monster lurking at the bottom. Maybe some ancient ocean dweller that inflicts curses upon people.
But Gem knows the truth, afterall she has been down there. Down there is not a nightmare no, it is a beautiful place. Normal hermits may not be able to access it.
Afterall, she is not only a regular human. Her home is the waters, both shallows and deep sea. She lurks, not preying but omly observing.
Even above water she still observes. Her neighbours are so fascinating. One so unobservant it's shocking they've managed anything and one so weird.
Who would have thought that the weird one was the one she would get along with. Maybe because he was also connected with the water. Regardless they grew closer, sometimes even playing tricks on The other neighbor.
But then one random day she was by her lighthouse observing the fish and fixing the damage from the snail. When she suddenly heard a loud crashing noise and saw smoke coming from her side of the mountain.
Of course she was curious, the fish guarding the lighthouse didn't warn her of any malice afterall. So she started to make her way up the mountain.
"Oh my god, it's a snail. I have to go tell Grian! Griann, Grian, Grian, Grian! Theres a. snail."
She didn't want to bother with boating or riding her horse so she swam there. It was far quicker as her legs quickly turned into fins.
After taking at look at his past messages she assumed he would be building the underground horse path.
Well, pestering him seemed to be the right choice. Although the way back was a definitely slower trip.
Just when they finally neared the top Grian fell through a hole. Obviously this left Gem concerned and worried if he had gotten hurt. But alas, Grian was an avian and managed to glide down landing safely.
"Why didn't you warn me there was a hole!"
"Well i dunno, i thought you had eyes"
After that whole situation happened and checking to see if the resident bird was fine, they finally approached the crater. There lied the pink snail, or as Gem would call it "lil wormy guy".
Of course she felt an immediate bond with it. As Grian had prior experience with snails, he explained a few things to her.
Then a moment later they planned for mischief. Naturally the target was the unobservant neighbour, Skizz.
The "snails" slowly took things from his base. With their help however, they were able to get them access to Tango's airship.
When her snail can't be found terrorising others it rests in the waters, lurking. Often times Gem joins her snail in the waters, swimming, watching, and plotting pranks.
Poor Skizz though, how long will it take him to realize the top of his pyramid is missing?

Pred!Skizz who always makes sure his prey is comfy and absolutely sure about being eaten, petting them softly and being so gentle with them to make sure he doesn’t accidentally hurt them on the way down, constantly commenting on how good they taste and how nice they feel and making them feel like they’re the best snack ever
Or alternatively, Prey!Skizz reassuring a nervous pred that he’s okay with being eaten and trusts them wholeheartedly, folds his wings carefully to make sure they don’t get in the way, occasionally yelps in surprise if the pred goes too fast, and as soon as he reaches their stomach goes something along the lines of “DUDE THAT WAS SO AWESOME-“
Idk just some thoughts ig because I can see him as either or
- 🐬
who are you and how the hell have you been reading my discord rants--
no but seriously this is exactly right he is PERFECT for newbies he is so sweet and patient and so easily excited by everything. If one of the hermits came to him in need of tummy comfort he would absolutely melt. So happy and flustered and honoured to be of service.
Hes probably really used to getting scooped up and swallowed because of how his friends are and that scar-notorious doesnt-ask-first vex man- lives very close by. So if he got caught by someone suffering a bad instinct day he wouldn't mind just sitting it out and being a comfortable weight in their stomach until they feel better. He is very helperful.
i kind of wonder if gem would ever be that nervous pred for him, not being all that used to it, being worried about hurting him, but he is just ecstatic to be spending time with his gemstone and her teeth are so pretty and sharp and shes just so soft and~ Hes very much the dad of the server.
we had a conversation on the discord about him i think- about impossible life and him just being a safehouse when the others get sick of dying all the time. big ol' angel man protec his friends from giant spiders and creepers and evil tiny zombies. cant fit in his house anymore tho-

Thinking about hermitcraft x undertale au, specifically some of the human souls
—💙—
Thinking about Scott, with the integrity soul falling down to the underground after a disastrous performance that left him injured and unable to dance.
He runs into the ruins caretaker, Lizzie, who comforts him and offers him a place to stay. He agrees but after a while he leaves for Snowdin during the night out of restlessness.
Scott hides himself with a cloak from Lizzie’s to creep past Snowdin, but makes the mistake of lowering his guard in Waterfall, making him easy prey to the captain of the royal guard, Pearl.
—💚—
Thinking about a kind restaurant owner named Tango realizing that one of his regular customers, a ballet dancer, hasn't come around lately. He hopes the man is ok, he was talking about the end of his career last time Tango had seen him.
Tango thinks about the dancer on a weekend trip in the mountains. Perhaps he could check up on the man after his trip. Oh, how fate is cruel with its sense of humor. Tango fell into the underground not 30 minutes later.
He somehow didnt run into Lizzie at all, he managed to completely avoid her and walked straight to Snowdin.
While in Snowdin he ran into brothers Impulse and Skizz. They weren't like most monsters who tried to kill them. Skizz and Impulse were considerate, letting Tango stay with them and helping him with a disguise to evade suspicion from other monsters.
One day Tango is out exploring Hotland when his monster disguise is wrecked. Monsters are upon him in seconds and his soul is taken to King Joel. Impulse and Skizz don't even find out until they get back from royal guard duties that night and hear the news of another human soul being taken to the king.

i keep forgetting to post this. anyways, secret life symbolism! masterpost is here.
jimmy is a golden labrador. of course he had to be a dog. i was thinking maybe golden retriever, but that was already taken by dl bigb.
mumbo is a hairy-tailed mole. all the mounders had to be moles. i was thinking hairy tail like hairy mustache? i’m not sure.
tango is a pink spotted lady beetle. ladybugs symbolize luck, which fits with the heart lottery. they especially mean luck in love, which is perfect for the heart foundation. also why i chose pink.
skizz is a luzon bleeding-heart. ofc i’m keeping him as a dove, and this one is perfect. mainly for the name. very heart foundation coded.
etho is a short-tailed chinchilla. chinchillas bathe in dust. gravel house. hair often drawn fluffy, like a chinchilla. need i say more?
martyn is a shiba inu. again, dogs. i thought this one just fit him.
bigb is a snow coral corn snake. pink like cherry blossoms! snake, because they tend to represent betrayal, but in reality can be very sweet. just like bigb!
cleo is a secretary bird. i had a LOT of trouble with this one. i eventually settled with this. they symbolize protection and growth, which i think works for her.
grian is a common cactus finch. ok this one i’m super proud of. this season is the one most associated with the watchers- and where did the watchers originate? evo, of course. cactus finches are one of the species included in darwin’s finches. evolution. why i chose the cactus finch- desert duo stuff from the beginning of the season.
impulse is a rosy maple moth. this one is just vibes. pink like the cherry blossoms, yellow like impulse. plus he matches with scott.
bdubs is an american shrew mole. i had to break some of my usual rules for this one. i usually make him a mouse, but i couldn’t do that and also make him a mole. i compromised and made him a mole that looks a little like a mouse.
joel is a star-nosed mole. hey now, you’re an all star!
scott is an orchid mantis. not much to say on this one. pink flower bug, pink flower biome. also scott has preying mantis vibes.
and that’s all! we’re done (until next series, that is).

skizzpulse for the theme?? (<- has never written skizzpulse)
Ghost hunting is easy. It’s so easy, at least to Impulse, who is probably second cousins with the haunt of the house that him and the phasmo crew are searching. Which is why he wasn’t scared when looping the ghost was suggested. Odds were it was gonna be a slow one anyway.
Impulse’s fingers curled around the countertop as the lights flickered around him, a fanfare announcing the ghost’s hunt. He bent his knees and the horrible thing appeared, lunging towards him. Squeaky floorboards shifted beneath Impulse’s feet as he circled the kitchen island like prey. He’s got this. A slower speed, just as he thought, about a 3 step tempo-
and then he stepped on a can
and then he was falling
And then he was on the floor, and the ghost was reaching for him, and-
A familiar blizzard flurried around Impulse, pulling him like gravity away from certain death. He heard the sound of a smudge lighting and falling to the ground as he was forced into a pair of tight-hugging arms.
“Hunt’s over, buddy. You’re okay,” Skizz whispered as Impulse tried to steady his breathing, holding tightly onto his torso. Skizz’s wings settled onto Impulse’s back, a blanket of freshly fallen snow over him.
-🦔
Impulse often describes Skizz's wings as a warm hug. Heavy, comforting and protective.
They don't separate from each other for the entire walk outside. If anything, Impulse only sinks heavier into Skizz's hold, talking him through what he observed and what clues it gives them.
It's the least he can do to repay Skizz. He'll make sure to clean his wings once this is all done, too.

hi sorry to be an insane anon but actually ty for your pearl posts. i was wondering why i really wasnt enjoying wild life so far and your posts are making me realise it's probably largely bc i watch pearls pov first. i think i'll like it more watching others unrelated to her alliance this season, do you have reccs?
No no please keep being insane. I'm actually having a really good time with s8 if we just ignore Pearl's whole ordeal putting me in emotional turmoil lol. It's a lot to handle..!! But I know she has "plans" and I trust..I trust that her character will be safe and loved again eventually... I think in the long run it'll be an intriguing continuation and it sucks a lot more now than it will eventually, but oof yeah it leaves me in need of a palette cleanser and I'm scared to get my hopes up..!!
Minor/alliance Wild Life spoilers for POV reqs
TLDR: Joel :). But I've noted things I've enjoyed about all the ones Ive seen if you want to take a pick based on your preferences if you have any
Joel is my undefeated favorite for the entertainment value. And I might be insane but he's especially cute this season for some reason.?? Him and Gem make for such a good duo too, they bounce off of each other fantastically, I'm really excited to see how they do
I'm always advocating for BigB because his POV is almost always the most unique. He can like, barely play, he barely communicates with anyone, all he does is stand there and watch like a prey animal. As a warning, his content tends to be largely uncut, but that does mean that he includes anything worthwhile which is nice if you're not watching many other POVs, and often includes things entirely cut from other people's POVs
Skizz, Grian and Mumbo are being funny. Good hardy laugh bros
Etho and Bdubs are on their toxic married couple arc whilst Tango watches. It's a little bit distressing but mostly funny. They literally stand there and argue for an entire minecraft day
Ren and Martyn are, naturally, together, and being horrible so far, I'm very excited for them. Ren mostly runs around while Martyn makes an enemy out of like literally everyone. It's impressive how much of an asshat he's been in just episode 1
Scar is always a fun time and I'm excited to see how his alliance goes with Jimmy! I main Jimmy for his character but I understand he's very much not everyone's cup of tea, he's not mine either, he's just baby to me and I feel the need to keep an eye on him. They've been very cute so far though and I wanna see how they mesh with Lizzie

I’m just gonna drop an AU idea I has here.
So basically multiple characters from different universes and genres are somehow transported to this one, a la into the spiderverse. Shenanigans ensue.
Grian is a normal architecture student living in a one bedroom apartment. He has two siblings, Jimmy and Pearl, but they live on different parts of town. Portal opens up and out pops Hotguy “Hawkeye” or Scar from a stereotypical superhero movie. Claimed Grian as his sidekick and now acts as a wildly controversial vigilante in the city. Currently living on Grian’s couch and begged to keep a stray cat he found. He named her Jellie.
Mumbo is from a Victorian Age Vampire drama, and has really called off. He tried to do his usual routine of getting his prey, but all it got him was a kick to the groin and a face full of pepper spray. Grian found him starving in an alleyway and he is now living in Grian’s Closet. He is fascinated by the technology in this world and has a hobby of disassembling and reassembling any technology he comes across. Grain lost a toaster and the oven to his hobby.
Some more miscellaneous information :
Gem is a magical girl, and is ridiculously overpowered. She has the capacity to split a skyscraper in two and vaporize anything she comes across. She is currently roommates with Pearl.
Speaking of Impulse, he is a dragon from a fantasy game. He is actually quite chill when unprovoked and is currently working with and living with Skizz. Out of everyone, he’s the most chill about his current situation.
Etho… is a normal dude, he just dresses like a ninja 24/7. No one knows why.
Doc and Cub are from Scar’s universe as it’s titular villains. Doc can be defeated by cute shrubbery, the power of friendship, simply removing a screw from his inventions, or asking about his child.
Cub is more complicated, as he is currently possessed by an alien plant thing. He used to be very close to Scar, but Grian knows a difficult subject when he sees one and doesn’t press for more information.
Ren runs a logging business and ran into both Bdubs and Martyn, both from the same fantasy universe as Impulse. According to the both of them, he has a strong resemblance to their king and both sweared their undying loyalty to him. Both do not hesitate to attempt to Murder anything in their way.
Jimmy is just a coach as the local elementary school. Everyone wants him.
Tango is from a sci-fi drama, and was the engineer of several fleets of spaceships. He currently works as a normal engineer but is a bit hard to hide and control his literal flaming hair and completely red eyes. Pining after a certain coach.
Scott is from the same sci-fi drama as Tango, complete with literal starry eyes and hair, and has been here the longest. He is known as a wildly popular influencer and is well known throughout the city. Also moonlights as a thief. Friends with Jimmy.
OOOH I LOVE THIS YES
#asks#au rambles#hermitshipping#for the ranchers bit#i dont have any more to add to this but i love this

Day 9 - Skizzleman
Drabble for @hermitadaymay.
The Withers tore through spacetime after their prey, and as they moved, they gathered. More joined the withering call from every world they passed.
Skizz had not been aware, before then, that he had any connection to Withers. Not until the force of their movement dragged him from his home and into the Rift, tossed into the swirling storm of their destruction. Not until the Rift spat him out at the bottom of a ravine, and unfamiliar soon-friends were staring with concern at the blackened marks spreading across his skin.
With the Withering, his ancestry could no longer be ignored.
#my fic#drabble#skizzleman#legacy smp#I feel like the last line of this one is more dramatic than is probably warranted but eh#it probably *is* pretty dramatic to Skizz#he's been suddenly Displaced and appears to be withering that's probably cause for concern y'know#(his ancestry is from before the Withers were withered btw)#(just. a couple Fortress People way back in his bloodline)
