Grian is the dm and Big B, Jimmy, Martyn, and Pearl are the players. Everyone else is an NPC Grian came up with.

Maybe Jimmy and Pearl are also part of another DnD group run by Fwhip (cough, empires) and Jimmy bribes him to add Scott and Joel, his favorite NPCs from Grian’s game.

There's two brothers who ignore the warnings about mt ebbot’s curse and play on its’s mountainside.

Martyn, the elder brother, was cocky and brave. He often challenged himself and his younger brother to go higher up the mountain. One day he was playing in a cave with his brother when he tripped and fell down into the underground, leaving his younger brother crying for their parents.

While underground, he encounters the Ruins caretaker, who is kind and all- but Martyn really wants to get back to his family. The caretaker, Lizzie, caves and lets him leave the ruins.

Its too bad that his toy boxing gloves did nothing against the dog guards, who eagerly fetched his soul for their king.

Many years later, when that younger brother, Jimmy, as all grown up, he decided to actually find out what happened to his brother. He takes a gun for protection and willingly enters Ebbot.

He's scared, and threatens action if anyone tries to attack. (Jimmy would never have the ability to pull the trigger though, hes too kind to kill these seemingly innocent monsters)

He makes it to the capital with the goal of asking the king about his brother. Unfortunately one of the king’s guards attacks and poisons him. King Joel stops the guard from ending the man’s life. Despite being the ruthless mountain king, he takes Jimmy to his home. The poisoning is fatal, so Joel can only make the man’s last days comfortable.

At least Jimmy is with his brother now.

Thinking about a coworker of Jimmy’s getting confused when he doesn't come into work. Grian knows that Jimmy had just taken a week long break for ‘family things’ up on Mt Ebbot. Grian assumes he needed another day or so off for whatever he was doing.

A month passes and now Grian is really worried, Jimmys been pronounced missing. The authorities are stumped, so Grian takes matters into his own hands and travels to Mt ebbot to see whats going on.

He falls down, landing in a bed of soft flowers. Strange, flowers don’t usually grow in caves like this… say, that one is talking. He calls himself Mumbo? Interesting.

I would like to think that the swap Scott is with the OG lifers and they are all like “oh god Scott whats happened to you?”

Swap Scott is just as scared/confused because no one is acting like themselves??? He no longer has the canary curse??? JIMMY HAS THE CURSE????

Flower husbands au (platonic, romantic, it applies to any way you ship them) where Scott wakes up in a parallel universe where everyone’s roles are swapped around. In this universe he discovers that he is now the one with the canary curse, with Jimmy taking his role.

This universe’s watcher, Martyn, explains that in order to get back to his own universe, he must relive the life series through Jimmy’s point of view.

He learns the hard way that this world’s Jimmy is just as cold toward him as he is towards his own Jimmy, and that the canary curse is way worse than just dying first.

The only thing Scott knows is that if he ever escapes, he is going to treat Jimmy right.

Hear me out, after third life Martyn is taken by the watchers and they do… something to him.

From last life on, something is wrong with Martyn. Its never fully defined, but the way he seems a little more fireproof than normal, or his arm bending in a way that doesn't see 100% natural, there is clearly something wrong. No amount of interrogation seems to work on him either, he manages to shift the conversation, leave, or ignores the question.

It comes to a head after a confrontation in Secret life where Martyn’s hand is crushed in a confrontation with Gem and the Scotts.

Martyn rushed back to his base holding his destroyed hand. A confused Jimmy returned as well, only to find Martyn, screwdriver in hand, trying to repair his hand.

It turns out that Martyn was removed from his body and placed in an identical puppet’s body because the watchers liked the angst.

I actually dunno where I was going with this I just like martyn becoming a literal puppet of the watchers because angst yummy mmm

Secret life au where Scientist Gem tries to use Skulk to find cure for a deadly illness that has Mumbo, Lizzie, and Jimmy stuck in a coma.

She finds it, they do indeed wake up. Only have become overly aggressive and they immediately attack her, infecting her with her so called cure.

Within days the entire town is overrun, the only ones still healthy are Cleo, Grian, Scott, and Martyn.

Cleo, who just barely got back into good graces with their ex husband before he got turned, is the weapons provider. Her house serves as home base (the others are confused as to why they have so many knives and guns)

Grian is the resident sharpshooter. He apparently has never had formal training. Everyone thinks he is lying.

Scott is the electrician. He fixed any electrical issues that his band faced before the apocalypse hit. Now he mostly hotwires cars and makes sure the house has electricity.

Martyn is only there because he is immune. There have been multiple times where he should have been infected and hasn't. Only person delighted to find out he is immune is Scott.

Just a thought but what if Scar wasn't the only one to return to the season he won after dying?

Imagine Martyn in the ruins of limited life, trying to make his paused timer go down in any way possible so he can maybe escape

Or Grian, who is so numb after being stuck in third life for years, he simply lays down in the cactus ring until he is called away for another game.

Pearl sits in her tower, which has started to grow moss, keeping her eyes closed because if she focuses hard enough she can see Scott wandering around in Last life

Cleo makes the best of their situation in Real Life, building a nice cottage and working the land (just like her son, Scar) She used to get motion sick a lot, but now they are used to it. (She will never tell anyone that they sometimes get sick when she's outside of Real life)

And Joel, who is slowly realizing that something is deeply wrong, and that maybe when Grian had mentioned not wishing a win upon anyone, he was being serious.

Thinking about Scott, with the integrity soul falling down to the underground after a disastrous performance that left him injured and unable to dance.

He runs into the ruins caretaker, Lizzie, who comforts him and offers him a place to stay. He agrees but after a while he leaves for Snowdin during the night out of restlessness.

Scott hides himself with a cloak from Lizzie’s to creep past Snowdin, but makes the mistake of lowering his guard in Waterfall, making him easy prey to the captain of the royal guard, Pearl.

Thinking about a kind restaurant owner named Tango realizing that one of his regular customers, a ballet dancer, hasn't come around lately. He hopes the man is ok, he was talking about the end of his career last time Tango had seen him.

Tango thinks about the dancer on a weekend trip in the mountains. Perhaps he could check up on the man after his trip. Oh, how fate is cruel with its sense of humor. Tango fell into the underground not 30 minutes later.

He somehow didnt run into Lizzie at all, he managed to completely avoid her and walked straight to Snowdin.

While in Snowdin he ran into brothers Impulse and Skizz. They weren't like most monsters who tried to kill them. Skizz and Impulse were considerate, letting Tango stay with them and helping him with a disguise to evade suspicion from other monsters.

One day Tango is out exploring Hotland when his monster disguise is wrecked. Monsters are upon him in seconds and his soul is taken to King Joel. Impulse and Skizz don't even find out until they get back from royal guard duties that night and hear the news of another human soul being taken to the king.
