Life Series Render Designs

Next up we have Impulse, Joel and Lizzie!

Impulse:

An Imp or an Oni, but definitely a little devilish.

(Counterpart to Skizzly, who's a bit on the angelic side.)

Both the Tusks and the yellowed-out eyes were last minute editions and I've grown immediately attached to both.

Dad Bod Impulse is just so correct in my brain, I had to bring him to life as is.

I was actually chomping at the bit to draw this one. I don't have that many design notes, but god do I love him.

Joel:

A Tanuki!

Yeah I know he dresses as shrek, but @mellozheist has this adorable Tanuki Joel design for her hermitcraft videos and I was inspired.

The ears, tail, and pointy teeth make for some really fun illustrations with his angry outbursts

I don't think I've quite got a handle on the shape of his hair yet, but I am happy with everything else.

A r m s. He had the guns out in Wild Life, he's inescapably changed how I draw him now.

Lizzie:

A fairy! I don't feel the need to explain this one.

I gave her rainbow freckles and sunset wings, I think they're cute against how much blue she has in her outfit.

Honestly I don't remember why I covered one of her eyes, I had a reason when I did it though, and now I'm sticking to it.

She honestly has some of the funniest quotes in the entire series.

I don't actually know if that's how her clothes are supposed to work but they're how they work when I draw her, so there.

I imagine there's like, shorts under the skirt or something.

Those wings can detach and become teeny as needed.

When the boat boys turned red, Joel “green stripe” smallishbeans probably dyed his hair with ease, but Etho might’ve needed a little help. I mean, when you die and come back from the dead as evil murderers, you’ve got to get your makeover just right before you go back and kill everyone!

Someone should write a fic about this where they have to stand really close to each other for Joel to dye Ethos hair properly and they’re weird and gay about it. <- whoa who said that.

They are my main POV, so here’s a current guide to The Family’s Alliances!

The Tuff Guys

Etho: a part of the Family, while he doesn’t live with them and is still a Tuff Guy, he is their closest outside ally.

Bdubs: Regular good allies, hasn’t been called family but is a firm ally.

Tango: They didn’t like him, but via snail escape bonding and him being on the Tuff Guys, which are their allies, they seem to be getting back to the right foot. Not as close as the rest of Tuff.

Bamboozlers:

Lizzie: She hasn’t wronged them, and she is married to Joel, so despite the actions of her team they are kind of allied.

Jimmy: The reason they don’t seemed to be allied with the Bamboozlers anymore. Just started trying to kill them, reason unknown to Gem or Joel. He was treated like a sad puppy instead of a threat, but he blew up some of the car and is now more of an enemy, though still a sad puppy in their eyes.

Scar: Enabling Jimmy trying to kill them, more of a threat but less of true malice, so the relationship is easily repairable if Jimmy’s wish to kill them is dealt with.

Four Gs (Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss, Girldad)

Scott: Neutral. They are fine with each other, but since he’s teamed with Pearl and Impulse it is unlikely to ever end up as true allyship.

Cleo: Same as Scott, neutral but probably won’t be real allies due to their grouping with Pearl and Impulse.

Pearl: Ohhhh Gem hates her this season. Pearl pulled some stuff in episode two, and betrayed her in Secret Life’s family. Joel is a good ally and is very on board with hating her. Number two worst enemy.

Impulse: The most hated man on this side of the river. The cow fiasco in episode one. Him beint with Pearl and pulling tricks with her in episode two. Gem and Joel hate his ass! They got him killed twice, but it’s not clear if he is aware of that.

Renwood

Martyn: Annoyed with him constantly, but mostly in good fun. Solid allies!

Ren: He didn’t do any of the cow bit, so even better allies than Martyn. Good ally.

Spanners/Sub One Club

Mumbo: Allies in name, neutral in action.

Grian: Not even technically allies by name, as it was just Skizz and Mumbo in the ep one cow trade. Not on bad terms by any means, though.

Skizz: A little above neutral, as they told him to kill Impulse and he listened! He was quite nice even when on Red.

BigB

BigB: They’ve basically not interacted, so the most neutral of neutral that could be

I hear a lot of people in the Life Series fandom rank Double Life as the worst season, not because it was bad but because not a lot of significance happened in it.

I understand this point, however it should be noted:

Everything going on between Joel and Etho in Hermitcraft s10 rn would not have happened if it wasn’t for Double Life.

There’s definitely more than this, but I think this is a really relevant thing to remember. These two would have likely never had anything to do with one another if it wasn’t for being randomly paired up in Double Life.

I just think it’s important to remember how each season had its own significant impact to the creators and the outside smps, and that’s something really neat 😊.

Ok. So. Gem and Joel are both on six lives after episode 3.

And

What happens if they are the last two? They're family, I don't think they would betray eachother, theyre both very loyal, and if they do kill one another it would be the desert all over again. And if they don't, will it end up being a katniss/peeta kind of ending? Double suicide? Would that make them both winners?

I don't know, just a thought

My friend @bunnopedia and I put our heads together to make an Alice in Wonderland Life Series AU of sorts based on this post. She's only just getting into the Life Series but she knows a lot about Alice in Wonderland, meanwhile I'm kinda the opposite lol.

This is less of an AU for me really and more just to give me a base for some cool and funky designs to use! I'm excited to work on more :>
