This scene is one that always stuck out to me.

Not only because we see Malleus teach Silver and Sebek magic and them learning it easily from his instructions, but also Malleus’s response to Lilia’s teaching method.

We know from his platinum birthday card that Malleus, even as a child, was a prodigy. He’s strong even back then. Anything his tutors taught him, he already knew or easily learned.

He’s easily frustrated because he thought they were looking down on him. He’s someone who’s stuck in the castle all day. Of course, besides being smart from that age, he would learn and expand his knowledge.

He was scolded by Lilia for scaring away his tutors. (Which personally, makes me wonder, did he scare them away not only because they couldn’t attribute to his studies but also because he wanted to spend more time with Lilia?)

But knowing all this? We see here Malleus stating that Lilia’s teaching hasn’t changed. In fact, he recalls the moments fondly. Malleus, despite having trouble with Lilia’s guidance, he still tried to learn.

He didn’t drive him away. He tried to learn from him. (Not like he could have driven him away even if he tried lol).

He also went out of his way to learn what Lilia could have meant and master the skill.

In this way, Lilia didn’t only challenge Malleus but he also was able to spend time with him as Malleus would have wanted.

This allowed Malleus to grow and learn different teaching methods and styles as well which he used later to teach Silver and Sebek. We have also seen his knowledge first hand in main story and events.

All in all, Malleus might have had tutors and nannies, but none of them challenged or prioritized him and his needs.

But we know Lilia did, even in a roundabout way, Lilia was able to see what Malleus needed as he grew.

But this also brings up the fact, when you’re a genius, when everyone has this view of you of being so grand, you tend to believe it too, don’t you??

You expect more of yourself. You expect to know and be better.

But when you can’t? That’s what hurts the most. That’s when you see yourself as a failure.

Not only have you failed your own expectations, but that of others.

It is surprising then? That we see Malleus out in the snow?

Feeling down, because he doesn’t know how to stop Lilia from leaving. This feeling exacerbated when Silver cries to him.

What can he do then, really? When he can’t solve such a simple problem?

Not as a Draconian, as his grandmother stated, who protects their people.

And not as Malleus Draconia, who wanted Lilia to stay and Silver to not cry.

He has failed to help them as both their prince and someone who loves them.

Woke up, opened my phone, and saw this after a horrible nights sleep… ya know I think the day is gonna be a good one.

My personal favorite bread recipe to use is the No Knead Bread by The NY Times. It takes a day or so but the bread it makes is basically pseudo sourdough. It’s delicious and I’ve made countless bread bowls from it.

You know what? Fuck it. The time is worth it.

The real question is what type of Gatorade do I use?

it's cold and it’s almost winter here which means i'm thinking about the 141 boys wrapping up warm while they're on leave back in the uk.

specifically im thinking about how each of them already have statement headwear (except soap), so its easy to imagine what they might swap to; thick beanie for price like we've seen before, ghost probably has a thicker balaclava meant for snowboarding to keep out the chill, and gaz would stay inside in his flat - warm and cosy because why the fuck would he venture out when it's snowing? - his cap firmly still in place on his head, blanket wrapped tight around his shoulders.

soap though? close knit family like his, there's no way he's not been given a handmade hat each year when he visits his gran. and given how naturally johnny mactavish can fall into being a little shit in any given situation, there's not a chance it's not learnt behaviour passed down from generations before, so i think his gran would have fun with her knitting.

which brings me to johnny's hat the year after he shaved in his mohawk:

So recently I've decided I really wanted to rewatch golden wind after reading the rest of the parts, and since this time I wanted to give more focus to the animation, I decided to watch it in dub. As a result, when I got to this part in ep3, I realised the dub had elected to change what exactly Bruno had said, stating the words above instead.

This struck me as a bit of a wierd change until I then realised how much this moment foreshadows Fugos 'betrayal' at San Giorgio Maggiore; by having the only one not betraying the boss being the one who suffers what Bruno predicted.

I feel like this foreshadowing is honestly amazing, and also hits home at how Fugo feels later on in phf when thinking back to his actions as the pier. I feel like he really does think of his lack of movement as a failure towards Bucciarati, one he has to atone for and I think it's really interesting.

On top of that, I find it really fun how accurate Brunos words are to the situation as a whole, and I find it quite ironic that the one who suffers them isn't even betraying the boss like Bruno is describing, but rather Bruno himself.

Overall, I really like how this singular line foreshadows a moment episodes later, and how I can bring up how Fugo's opinions and feelings on the event are reflected in Bucciarati's words.

I'm also super torn on whether or not Dave was homeschooled, but what if Bro just kind of... Did neither? Or maybe Dave went to like kindergarten/Pre-K or like first grade and then Bro pulled him? Just very minimal schooling. It's so tough!
