A tortoise was randomly chewing my hand. Terrified out of my brains, I tried to yank it out only to find out that that was one of the most friendliest tortoises of all times.

Somehow I had reactivated its dormant violence.

Women empowerment or women harassment across India?

Human trafficking is a grave violation of human rights, often involving exploitation through forced labor, sexual slavery, conversion, rape , and other forms of coercion.

It’s a global issue that affects millions of people, particularly women and children. Here’s a general overview and some key points about human trafficking, medical Jihad, suicide Jihad, accidental Jihad, rape and murder.

Human trafficking Jihad is the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring, or receipt of persons by means of threat, force, or other forms of coercion, abduction, fraud, or deception, for the purpose of exploitation. This exploitation can include forced labor, sexual exploitation, or other forms of modern-day slavery.

According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), there are an estimated 25 million victims of human trafficking worldwide specially in West Bengal, Northeast, Kerala, Kashmir, Delhi, Bihar, UP, Madhyapradesh, Rajsthan and other states.

Trafficking can occur within a country or across international borders, with victims often lured by false promises of employment, education, marriage or a better life.

• Sex Trafficking: Involves forcing individuals, often women and girls, into prostitution or other forms of sexual exploitation.

• Labor Trafficking: Includes forced labor in industries such as agriculture, construction, domestic work, and manufacturing. Victims often work in inhumane conditions for little or no pay.

• Child Trafficking: Involves the recruitment, transportation, or exploitation of children for various purposes, including labor, sexual exploitation, or even forced begging.

• Victims and Vulnerabilities: Trafficking victims often come from vulnerable populations, including migrants, refugees, and those living in poverty. Traffickers prey on these vulnerabilities, exploiting victims’ desires to escape difficult circumstances.

Human trafficking is a complex and multi-faceted issue that requires a concerted global effort to address. By staying informed and supporting organizations working to combat trafficking, individuals can contribute to the fight against this pervasive crime across India and at global level.

Beant Singh assassination: SC urges President to decide on killer Rajoana's mercy plea in 2 weeks

Balwant Singh Rajoana was convicted in the 1995 assassination of the then Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh. On May 3 last year, the Supreme Court had refused to commute Rajoana's death sentence. 

The Supreme Court on Monday urged President Droupadi Murmu to make a decision on the mercy petition filed by Balwant Singh Rajoana -- a death-row convict in the 1995 assassination of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh.

Rajoana was sentenced to death for his role in the high-profile political assassination that took place nearly three decades ago. Notably, the apex court's intervention seeks to expedite the long-pending resolution of his plea for clemency.

What did the top court say? 

A bench of Justices BR Gavai, P K Mishra and KV Viswanathan requested the President to consider the plea within two weeks. "Inspite of the matter being specifically kept today none appeared for Union of India. The bench assembled only for this case," the bench said.

"On the last date the matter was adjourned to enable the Union to take instructions from the office of the President as to by when will mercy plea be decided. Taking into consideration that the petitioner is on a death row, we direct the secretary to the President of India to place the matter before the President with a request to consider the same within two weeks from today," the bench added. 

Next hearing on Nov 25

The matter will now be heard on November 25. On September 25, the top court had sought responses from the Centre, the Punjab government and the administration of the Union Territory of Chandigarh on Rajoana's plea. On May 3 last year, the apex court had refused to commute his death sentence and said the competent authority could deal with his mercy plea.

The then Punjab Chief Minister and 16 others were killed in a blast at the entrance of the civil secretariat in Chandigarh on August 31, 1995. A special court sentenced Rajoana to death in July 2007. Rajoana has said that a mercy petition under Article 72 of the Constitution was moved by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on his behalf in March 2012.
