turbulence
barça!teen reader you hate flying, and you hate planes. normally, you manage a fair amount of control over your anxiety, but when you run out of your anxiety medication just before leaving for the preseason games in the US, you lose control, and have no choice but to turn to your teammates for help.
-
Air travel was just part of your job. It was something you’d never quite gotten used to, but also not something you made a big deal about. At least, not normally.
You had your plane routine; take your anxiety medication, sleep the whole flight if you could, and at the very least, close your eyes all through take off and landing. It was common knowledge among the team that you fell asleep very easily; a bus ride longer than 20 minutes, and you were out cold. No one really batted an eye, then, when you pulled your eyeshades over your face almost as soon as you got in your seat on the plane. However, when one of the steps of your routine failed, the rest of it toppled over like a set of dominos.
A 12.5 hour flight was bad enough to begin with. It wasn’t possible to sleep the whole time, but you’d downloaded a few movies and brought a book with you, so there were suitable distractions. It was manageable, though not ideal.
Until you checked the little pill bottle just before you left for the airport, and realized you were out of your anxiety medication. How it had slipped your mind to refill the bottle after the last flight you’d taken was beyond you, but you genuinely didn’t recall running out.
There was nothing you could do. There wasn’t time to refill your prescription, you had to leave to meet the team in 5 minutes. You stood frozen for a moment, the prospect of not just one flight, not two, but three entire long flights completely unmedicated quickly sending you into a spiral.
Alexia’s voice broke you out of your stupor.
“Chica! It’s time to go!”
Any other day, you would have been annoyed that your captain used her key to let herself in, but today you didn’t have it in you. You were resigned to your fate, grabbing your bag and taking a deep breath, before you headed out to the living room.
Alexia was waiting impatiently, though she grinned when she saw you. “Ready?!”
You tried to match her energy, though her smile faltered, and you were sure you failed. “Yeah! Let’s go!”
The blonde studied you as you walked down to her car with her, and you tried to act as normally as you could, even though internally, you were freaking out. You and Alexia lived in the same building, which was one of the conditions for living alone at 18 that the club had set. She checked on you constantly, showing up unannounced to drag you to dinner at her apartment, or bringing you a protein smoothie that she’d just happened to make extra of. Alexia took her job of watching out for you very seriously, and you couldn’t imagine how much more intense she would be if she found out how bad your anxiety could get.
It didn’t seem like something a professional footballer should have, in your head, so you pretended you didn’t have it. You took your medication, you went to therapy, and you dealt with it all yourself. You didn’t keep many things from Alexia, as she’d quickly become like an older sister to you, but this one thing you just couldn’t bring yourself to admit. No matter how much you wanted to break down and tell her everything you just… couldn’t.
You could feel her worry growing as you got on the bus and bypassed your friends to sit by yourself. They all exchange looks, knowing you to normally match their hyperness and excitement. The seat Vicky was saving for you remained empty; she was practically bouncing in her seat with excitement, and Alexia expected the same behavior out of you. Today, though, you just sunk into an empty row and pulled out your phone.
While Alexia watched you carefully from the front of the bus, you were too busy to notice. You were crafting a text to your therapist, hoping for her to give you some advice for the plane ride. There were only around two hours until take off, and you could feel your nerves grow and grow as you neared the airport.
All through security, the whole way to the gate, and in line to board the plane, you were so quiet and so unlike yourself. It drew the attention of several of your teammates, in fact, until Irene appeared next to you, a very motherly worry on her face.
“Are you alright? You’ve been acting strange today. You haven’t tried to trip Mapi even once.” Irene asked quietly. The teammates near you in line grew a bit quieter, curious as to what your issue was.
Feeling several pairs of eyes on you, and still not feeling particularly like sharing the issue, you just shrugged. “I didn’t sleep well. Just tired.” You lied, conveniently yawning just after you finished talking. It was an anxiety thing, actually, a weird thing you did more often when you were anxious. Of course, no one else knew that.
They all relaxed slightly at your response, especially Alexia, confident that they’d discovered the problem, and it wasn’t much to worry about. As you stepped onto the plane, though, you knew the opposite to be true. There was plenty to be worried about.
-
“Chica?” Pina asked, realizing you hadn’t been listening to her long, very drawn out story of the mischief her and her sister had gotten into during her last visit.
You hummed quietly, eyes fixed out the window. As a general rule, you tried not to look out the window when you were in the air. It never made you feel anything but panic. You were running out of coping mechanisms that worked, though, and in a last ditch effort to avoid a complete panic attack, you looked out the window. You thought, maybe, it would reassure you to see the plane moving steadily through the air.
It didn’t. Instead, you felt your stomach plummet, to what felt like the earth underneath you. The ground was so very far away. It was likely your imagination, but it felt as though the plane dropped slightly, and you clutched at the arms of your seat, sitting back rigidly in your chair. Eyes shut, inhaling as much as you could through your nose, and out through your mouth.
You felt Claudia’s hand tapping on yours, vaguely heard her voice repeating your name. Pina was the last of your worries, though, and any will you had remaining to keep your embarrassing fear a secret had flown out the window, along with the last of your composure. You were trapped in your head, anxiety swirling around until you couldn’t tell up from down, didn’t know anything except for the fact that you were terrified.
Claudia looked around in panic, having watched you go from somewhat stressed to completely out of it in just a few seconds. She had been trying to distract you from whatever had you acting so odd, but it clearly hadn’t worked. She caught Mapi’s eye, who was sitting next to Ingrid across the aisle. The centerback immediately sat up at the concerned look on the forward’s face.
Gently, Mapi shifted Ingrid’s head off her shoulder where it was resting as the Norwegian slept, and leaned across the aisle, towards Claudia.
“You okay, Pina?” Mapi inquired, resting a hand on the younger girl’s shoulder. She didn’t really spare you a glance, assuming that you were out cold, as you normally were on flights.
“Something is wrong, I don’t know what happened.” Claudia said quietly, nodding her head over to you. Mapi looked closer, noticing for the first time how labored your breathing was, how tight your eyes were shut, how hard you gripped the arms of your seat. She’d never seen you like this before, and it scared her.
“Up, Pina.” The Spaniard instructed, sliding into the younger girl’s seat. Pina took Mapi’s old seat, watching anxiously as the older woman placed a hand on your arm.
“Cariño?” Mapi wondered quietly. Your eyes remained shut, your head shaking side to side just slightly. “What’s wrong?”
Maybe you should have told your teammates about your fear of flying. If not right at the beginning, definitely before you tried to take this painfully long flight unmedicated. Now, it was too late. You’d lost completely the ability to speak, not even really able to focus fully on Mapi talking to you. You were stuck, completely out of your depth and with no way to calm yourself down. The only thing that could help was to be safely back on solid ground, and there was simply no way to make that happen right now.
Before Mapi could say another word, a hand fell on her shoulder, tapping impatiently. She looked up, finding her captain looking down at her with a frown on her face.
“Mapi, go back to your seat. You can’t switch seats on an airplane.” Alexia whisper-yelled, clearly grumpy at having to get out of her seat to scold her friend. Surely, she’d made that rule up, but she didn’t have it in her to deal with your and Mapi’s antics, especially not on such a long flight.
Mapi looked at her nervously, though, gesturing back towards you. “Something’s wrong.”
Almost instantly after looking at you, Alexia’s face went from grumpy to dead serious, able to recognize that you were very much not okay. “Up, Mapi.” Alexia instructed, grabbing the defender's arm and hauling her out of her seat. Mapi grumbled indignantly, before she did the same thing to Pina, sending the young forward back to the captain’s empty seat.
Sitting down beside you, your captain tried not to panic herself at the state you were in.
Alexia had seen you upset before, of course she had. Once, you’d knocked on her door in tears after reading some particularly cruel comments about yourself online. Another time, she’d come over to invite you to dinner only to find you curled up on the couch, desperately missing home. When Mapi took her teasing too far, or you sustained even a minor knock during a match, Alexia was always right there to pick you up and help you dust yourself off. She was reliable, she was safe, and she knew how to help you.
Except now, she didn’t. She called your name a few times, but you didn’t react.
For your part, you had no idea who was sitting next to you. It was all you could do to stay planted in your seat, and not go charging up the aisle and into the cockpit to beg the pilot to land. Logically, you knew how ridiculous that was, but your ability to be logical was slipping. Quickly.
Your lungs burned as you hyperventilated, chest pounding and ears ringing. Your body was begging for some kind of relief, anything to get your nervous system to stop overworking itself, even for just a minute. You needed help, you realized. Help you couldn’t give yourself. Forcing your eyes open, you looked to where Pina had been sitting, or had that been Mapi? Either way, you found Alexia staring back at you, her lips moving, but no sound reaching your ears.
“Chiqui, what are you feeling? Are you sick?” Alexia asked gently, reaching across the divider to pull your hand into hers. It was clammy and shaking in her grip, only reinforcing Alexia’s assumption that you were ill. “It’s okay if you feel unwell, just tell me. I can try to help.”
Never in your life had you regretted something as much as you regretted not telling Alexia about your anxiety. Not only did she not know what the issue was, but even if you communicated it to her, you thought it to be terribly unlikely that she’d be able to help at all.
“Come on, talk to me.” Alexia encouraged. If you’d had the ability to do so, you would have shouted at her that you couldn’t talk, obviously. You couldn’t even breathe. Instead, you dug your nails into the palm of your free hand, and forced yourself to suck in a breath.
“Not sick. Anxiety.” You choked out. There was terror written in your voice, so much so that Alexia felt a sharp pang of fear go through her. Just then, the aircraft jolted slightly. It could barely be called turbulence, so minimal that most of the people around you hadn’t even blinked. Your grip had tightened painfully around Alexia’s hand, and understanding dawned across her face.
That was all she needed, and thank god, because you were seconds away from asking the flight attendant for a parachute and taking matters into your own hands.
“Okay, okay. I’ve got you.” Alexia brought your shaky palm to her chest, pressing it right over her heart, before she took a ridiculously exaggerated breath. “Like that, big breath. All you have to do is think about breathing.”
You tried, inhaling and exhaling so quickly you weren’t even sure any oxygen had entered your lungs. Your vision started to go dark around the edges, and you let out a dry sob, clutching even tighter to Alexia’s hand.
“No, no, you’re okay. Stay here with me.” Alexia soothed. She let your hand fall from her chest, instead shoving the armrest in between you both up and out of the way. Scooting closer, she pulled you into her arms and squeezed.
At first, it was suffocating. You were in a plane, an enclosed space to begin with, and you didn’t need that space shrinking any more. You squirmed, trying to escape her grasp, but Alexia held tighter.
“I’ve got you. Focus on the pressure of my arms around you, feel me breathe. Try to match it. You’re okay, cariño. Everything is okay. ”
Not really by choice, your body collapsed against your captain, and you tried to do as she’d instructed. You focused on her, the tight hold she had on you. It felt safe, if you thought about it hard enough.
Safe, not suffocating.
Her chin rested on your head, her hand rubbing up and down your arm. You could feel her every breath with the way she was holding you, and unconsciously, you began to match it.
You gasped in breath after breath in time with the rise and fall of Alexia’s chest. Slower, slower, and slower still until your lungs no longer burned.
In and out. In and out.
Until your fingers and toes stopped tingling, and your muscles began to relax.
Your ears stopped ringing, and you could hear again. The white noise of the plane engine was loud, but you could still hear the crinkle of Irene’s water bottle, and a low voice from somewhere in front of you asking if everything was okay.
Most of all, you could hear Alexia. Still held securely in her arms, she kept up a running dialogue, not allowing herself to fall silent for even a second.
“There you go, nena. You’re going so well. We’re almost there, and we’ll be off this plane, and everything will be okay. You’re safe, you’re okay. Everything is okay.”
It was only now that you’d calmed down a bit more that you could process the past few minutes, or however long the period of time you’d panicked had been. Alexia had known exactly what to do, almost as if she was going through a list in her mind.
She’d tried to get you to listen to her, to breathe. When that hadn’t worked, she’d put pressure around you, hugging you tightly even as you resisted for a moment. She’d stayed calm herself, keeping her breathing and her voice steady. She’d know just what to say, just what to do, and you’d never been more glad for anything in your entire life.
“Thank you.” You whispered, pulling away from her slightly so you could reach for your water. Alexia beat you to it, unscrewing the cap and handing you the bottle, though you were still shaking slightly. You chugged a few sips, feeling your face grow redder and redder as you realized how much of a scene you’d probably caused.
“Of course.” Alexia replied, taking the bottle once you were done and tucking it back into your bag. She draped an arm across your shoulders, giving you a comforting squeeze. And while you were embarrassed, there wasn’t much fight left in you to shake her off, and honestly, you still really needed a hug.
“I’m sorry.” You mumbled, this time a stray tear sliding down your cheek. You wiped it away impatiently, wishing that Mapi would stop staring at you from across the aisle, and that Irene would stop turning around to check on you.
“You have absolutely nothing to be sorry for.” Alexia dismissed. “You had no control over that happening. It just happens sometimes.”
“Do you have them too?” You wondered, the words spilling out before you could stop them. Alexia shook her head, and you felt yourself blush harder. Of course she didn’t.
“No, my sister does though. And a few teammates.”
That last part surprised you. “Really? Teammates?”
“Mhm. Even footballers can have anxiety, cari.” Alexia chuckled, though she frowned when you didn’t laugh with her. “What happened today?”
You found that you couldn’t look her in the eye, shifting out from under her arm and sinking down in your seat. “Panic attack.”
You didn’t need to be looking at her to know that she was giving you a look. “I know that. Why did it happen today? I didn’t even know you had panic attacks.”
Swallowing roughly, you continued to stare at the seat in front of you. “I ran out of my medicine. I normally take it before flights.”
Alexia blinked at you. “Before every flight? And you never told me?”
You could hear the hurt in her tone; she’d gone out of her way to be there for you, to be someone you could trust, and now she felt like she’d failed.
“I wanted to tell you, Ale, I just… I was embarrassed. I shouldn’t be like this, especially not about flying. It’s part of our job. Normally, I have it handled.”
Alexia sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose between her fingers. “Cariño, you don’t need to be embarrassed about this. It’s not your fault, and it’s nothing to be ashamed of. I wish you’d told me, because you don’t have to handle this all on your own.”
“I know, I know.” You sighed. “I’m sorry.”
Alexia shook her head again, pressing a kiss to your temple. “Don’t be sorry, please. Just know I’m here.”
You nodded, letting your head rest on your captain’s shoulder. You felt better, definitely, but anxiety still twisted in your stomach. It was better, though, because you knew you weren’t alone. You were never alone with this team, and never alone with Ale around.
You’d be reminded of this, repeatedly, on the remaining flights around the US. When Mapi threw M&Ms at you across the aisle, trying to see how many you could catch in your mouth. When Irene bought you a stress ball, and Pina made a list of movies she thought you should watch. And when Alexia held your hand through take off and landing, sticking close by you until you were safely back on the ground in Barcelona. A plane ride and your anxiety had nothing on the determination of your captain, and you should have never doubted that.

do you have any luke hughes tea ?😸
sure! some of this isn’t necessarily tea, just some things i know about him, if that’s also cool with you!
1. he is single! yes, he’s been following and unfollowing girls like it’s his job (and i find it hilarious because it sounds like he unfollows them when they don’t follow him back 😭 petty king) and liking photos, but i haven’t been told of anything or anyone he’s been seeing / been exclusive with.
2. going off of #1, luke isn’t really the kind of guy to do hookups. (i think a lot of people know this now but if you didn’t, yeah, he’s not really a hookup kind of guy)
3. he’s funny. oh, my god, you guys, he is genuinely so funny, and his humor is extremely blunt and dry, or deadpan, if you’d like to call it that. i’m never not laughing when i see him at devils events or other places.
4. he’s shy, and very, very nice. shy isn’t the perfect word to use here, but he definitely isn’t extroverted. (though the 🦋 told me that he is definitely the loudest and craziest/most hyper of the three brothers when around friends / the team LOL)
5. on the umich game tea circling - i’ll be honest, i am absolutely not sure about this one, so i won’t answer for this tea. i can ask around, but i’m genuinely not sure if they’ll be going to umich’s first game of the season this year. it depends on when sheldon & rick want players back in new jersey / vancouver for preseason, and if they can swing it with their schedules. i know a few of their friends from umich were joking / commenting on socials that they have to come for a fantasy football punishment, but we’ll see!
if you want anything specific, let me know, but that’s all i’ve got right now! (and like i said with nico, my level of information will change heavily when the guys start coming back here to jersey😁)

Stress Ball - CC
Pairing: Caitlin Clark x Reader
Summary: The little things you do for Caitlin when she is stressed during a game (based on THIS request)
Warnings: Stressed CC
Word Count: 1.6k
Sweetbans Masterlist
AN: What I would give to be able to do this for her.
The expectations that the world has on Caitlin are unrealistic. Still in her rookie year, people have higher expectations on her than they do veterans who have been playing 5+ years in the league. Now that is not to say Caitlin is not capable because she very much is but the last thing she needs is someone else adding on to the expectations she has on herself.
When you first met Caitlin it was always in passing, playing against each other in tournaments and things like that. It wasn't until you both got drafted to Indiana that you really started to get to know each other. The two of you immediately hit it off in training camp and it was right before the first preseason game when you asked her out. To say things moved fast was an understatement.
It's now 4 months into the season and it has felt like you have been together for years. Being with Caitlin came so easy it was almost scary. Yet every time it felt like it should have gone up in flames, it didn't. The two of you would figure it out together and grow. You complemented each other well.
That leads you to right now. The Fever are playing the Lynx for the last time this season and everything is going wrong for the rookie star. At the end of the first quarter she has no points, 1 rebound and 1 assist. That is including the 2 personal fouls and 2 turnovers.
Everyone breaks from the first quarter huddle and Caitlin doesn't stand up. She just sits there her Gatorade towel bitten between her teeth. She loves those things more than she loves you (not actually but you tease her about it all the time). You can tell she is stuck in her mind which is exactly where she shouldn't be in a time like this. Down 10 after the first, the team needs her to not be stressed but locked in.
You grab your towel and place it around her shoulder. Usually you would pull at her towel and annoy her but seeing her state you decide against it.
Caitlin doesn't look up at you and continues to chew on her towel. You place your hand on her head, moving it to the side of it to sooth other her hair when she leans her head into your hand.
Nothing is said, nothing needs to be said. You know where she is at and she knows you know what she is at.
The buzzard rings and Caitlin finally stands. You remove the towel you put around her shoulders and she puts down her towel as the two of you walk back out to the floor.
The second quarter goes a little better. Caitlin gets on the board with a quick 4 points and it seems like there is momentum building. That is until things get heated between Temi and Alana.
You know Caitlin hates when she is starting to build momentum and something stops it. With a little confrontation on the floor, Caitlin becomes visibly frustrated and she throws her hands up in the air. walking in the other direction. You first help Aliyah grab Temi as the teams are told to go to their respective benches while the refs watch the replay.
Cait is standing on the floor with her hands on her hips, completely unamused. You walk over to her and push her to the bench. While walking behind her, your hands massage her shoulders before coming down to pinch her waist.
"Don't worry, your rhythm will be there when we get back on," you say softly to her. She nods once.
You never want to overstep when it comes to comforting Caitlin on the court. And you would say you do a pretty good job of making sure that you don't but today seems like one of those days where you just can't do enough.
At the half, Caitlin has been doing better but you can tell by her mannerisms that she is not playing near to the standard she is holding herself to.
As everyone is walking back out to the court to stay warm, you grab Caitlin's arm before heading out of the tunnel.
"Hey," you say but she won't make eye contact with you. "Look at me."
When she doesn't, you know she is internally fighting with you and she doesn't want to give in.
You grab her face and force her to look at you. You want to say something, give her encouraging words but know that would only piss her off so you settle with kissing her on the nose.
The action earns you a little smile from her and you let go of her. She begins walking back out and you give her a little slap on the butt.
"Hey!" She squeals causing you to laugh and run out in front of her onto the court.
The third quarter is better. You can see she is playing more like herself. She has made the decision to out the team on her back and carry everyone to the finish line. Everything was going much better until she is fouled and the refs don't make the call.
Her arms come up in a 'how did you not see that' motion and you are quick to grab her arm. The ball goes back the opposing way and Phee draws the foul on Lyss. Everyone is just standing around while the refs discuss something and you notice Caitlin getting frustrated with her hair. You look over at her redoing it for the second time in a row as she lets out a annoyed puff.
You walk over to your girl and pull her hair out of her last attempt. She is about to protest but you are forcing her to bend over so you can collect all of her hair. She giggles, surprising you as you allow her to flip back up.
Now standing begin her as you sooth out the bumps and tie the hair tie around it.
"What is so funny?" You ask as you finish and she turns around smiling. The refs finally walk back over and give Phee her first free throw shot.
"I drooled," Caitlin says as you both look down at the court where sure enough, there was a little pile of Caitlin's spit.
"Ewww gross," you say teasing her and she pushes you playfully. She uses her shoes to clear out it out and you help her. When one of the court-side workers see the two of you trying to clear something up, they run over and wipe it with a towel.
"Careful there, she might be contagious," you tease as the guy looks at you confused. Caitlin just rolls her eyes and pushes you again.
You finish helping her with her hair but bringing her little headband back up to keep the little fly-aways out of her face.
"All better," you say and she looks at you with a little smile.
"Thank you," she says.
"Now let's win this game," you say and push her back to the back court to get the inbound pass.
The game comes down to the wire as the Fever somehow manage to pull out the win. Caitlin and Aliyah head to the pressor after while you and the rest of the team get to head back to the locker.
They are almost through the pressor when someone asks about the interactions between you and Caitlin.
"Caitlin, how do you manage stress when you are on the floor? It seems like you weren't playing like your usual self starting the game off but then came back and dominated the second half." The reported says.
Aliyah looks over at Caitlin with a knowing look.
"Ya, how do you manage your stress on the floor?" Aliyah says egging Caitlin on.
"Well, I have great teammates that know how to lift me up. The success of the team doesn't rely on one person. The win didn't come with me in the second half - ya sure, I helped and contributed but it first started off with Aliyah in the first half. She kept us in the game until I was able to heat up a little." Caitlin says, not specifically mentioning you. Regardless of if she mentions you or not, she knows there are going to be a disgusting amount of edits by tomorrow morning of the two of you, not that she ever minds.
As Aliyah and Caitlin are walking back, Aliyah bumps Caitlin.
"I am so telling your girl you just called her your teammate," Aliyah says.
"She is, she is our teammate," Caitlin says.
"Ya but you and the whole world knows she is is the sole reason you were able to get out of your head and back in this game and you just called her a teammate," Aliyah says.
"It isn't a big deal," Caitlin says.
"Fine, then I am going to go and tell her exactly what you said," Aliyah say as she picks up her pace to run and tell you that Caitlin only called you her teammate and not her girlfriend.
"No, wait!" Caitlin calls after Aliyah as she picks up her pace to stop her from tattling.
AN: Short and sweet! Let me know what you think! And as always, thank you for the love and support

The Wonder Twins Universe
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
You had your debut two weeks after arriving to the team, you played in a friendly against Atletico during the preseason. You entered the pitch as a sub for the second half and your impact was immediate. Jonatan saw the way you orchestrated the midfield, your communication with both the defenders and the strikers and how everything went smoothly. The game ended 5-0 with you being player of the match as you contributed with 2 assists, and you had participated in the building of a third goal.
Not only your impact in the team was noticeable but also the impact of joining Barcelona was noticeable. You started learning Spanish to speak with the staff, your teammates and with the fans, you also started to gain more muscle as training in Barcelona was more rigorous than with Arsenal. You felt as if you had been playing in Barcelona for years.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
Before you knew it you already had been in Barcelona for a month and a half. You loved everything in Barcelona, the city, the warm weather, the staff, and your teammates.
You thought that joining such a united team it would have been difficult to be accepted and to join into the team’s dynamics however, it has been the opposite.
You could say that Mapi has become your closest friend in Barcelona, she made sure to make your adaptation easier and Ingrid became your confidant and the person with whom you went for advice as she understood perfectly what you were going through, being a foreigner joining Barcelona. Patri and Claudia became your annoying little sisters while with Jana and Bruna you felt the necessity of protecting them and teaching them everything you could, you were sure that those two would become superstars.
Having other British teammates joining at the same time as you have made everything better, you had a piece of home in Barcelona thanks to them.
Finally, Alexia. The chemistry you had her was undeniably, you made her laugh with your clumsiness and with the stories you told her about your adventures with Leah when you were younger and she made your heartbeat faster, you love the passion she has about the game for either the club or her national team. You couldn’t stop thinking about the Catalan and you couldn’t wait for her to be on the pitch again.
The only negative part of joining Barcelona was being separated from your family, specially from your twin. You talked with Leah every time it was possible, you missed being with her almost 24/7. Being separated from her while it gave you a sense of independence it was also the worst feeling ever.

Being in Liga F has taught about a new playing style, your skills have only gotten better and it was noticed by Sarina so it wasn’t a surprise when you were announced as part of the squad for the international break and that’s how you found yourself in the locker room after the last practice before the break saying goodbye to some of your teammates.
“Mapi! Don’t do anything to crazy while I’m gone!”
“Me?!? y/nn I don’t why would you say that” Mapi said with a fake innocent voice.
“You are right Mapi. How could I say that? You are an angel” you said smiling with a sarcastic voice.
You picked up your things before approaching Mapi, hugging her and whispering. “Mapi, if there’s something bothering you, and I mean anything at all you about the coach from your national team remember that I’m one call away.”
“Thank you y/nn, I can’t stand anymore Vilda and his staff. I don’t know what to do, I want to stay strong for the younger ones” she whispered back to you.
“Remember Mapi, one call away” you whispered back before separating.
“Good luck with Norway Ingrid!” you said while giving her a quick hug.
“You to y/nn! I hope everything goes well with the Lionesses”
After saying goodbye to more teammates, you went looking for Alexia who should be finishing her physiotherapy session. You were waiting outside the physiotherapy room when she came out.
“Ale! I couldn’t leave without saying goodbye to you” you said looking directly to her eyes and giving her a soft smile.
She approached you and hugged you.
“If you couldn’t say goodbye I would have understood. Our schedules are hectic.”
“Ale, I had to say goodbye. I wouldn’t have been comfortable without it.”
You guys kept hugging until you heard Lucy “Williamson! We need to go! Are you ready?!”
You separated from Alexia and turned around towards Lucy yelled “Yeah Lucy! Just give me two more minutes!”
Lucy realized that you and Alexia were having a moment, before leaving she said “Two minutes Williamson!”
You turned around back to Alexia and said “Ale I know that I will only be gone for like 10 days, but I’ll miss you”
“I’ll miss you to y/n, good luck for your games y/nn, I’ll make sure to watch every single match. You better return to me, I mean Barcelona in one piece, I would hate for you to join me and the physios.”
“Don’t worry Ale, I’ll take care of my myself” you told her smiling.
Before leaving and turning around you gave her a kiss in the cheek close to her mouth.
If you had turned around to see her reaction, you would’ve seen her really red face and how her fingers here softly caressing the exact spot of the kiss.

St George's Park, you really had missed that place.
You, Lucy and Keira were just arriving to the place. You couldn’t wait to see your teammates again but the person you wanted to see the most was Leah.
As soon as you guys left the van you were greeted by the media team. After you waved and greeted the camera you entered the lobby.
Before you could even greet some teammates and Sarina a body had tackled you. You immediately recognized her blonde hair and hugged her.
“Look! The Wonder Twins are finally reunited” Tooney said.
After her words everyone turned their attention towards you and your twin.
Everyone could see that was an emotional exchange, they couldn’t imagine how you guys felt.
Finally, Leah and you separated and you greeted everyone.
After greeting everyone Leah hugged you again “I’ve missed you so much sis”
“I missed you too Lee, there’s so much that I need to tell you. There might be someone special in Barcelona” you whispered.
You guys separated and she smiled at you before she could talk Rachel’s voice interrupted her.
“Oi! y/nn what are they feeding you with in Barcelona. You have more muscles than you did before and only in a period of two months!”
After hearing that you couldn’t help but to laugh.
You couldn’t wait to play to play again with your sister. After all you guys are The Wonder Twins.

Kirby Smart
Physique: Husky Build Height: 5'10" (1.78 m)
Kirby Paul Smart (born December 23, 1975) is an American football coach and former player. He is the current head football coach at the University of Georgia, his alma mater. As head coach, he led the Bulldogs to back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022.
Handsome, solid body, nice dick sucking lips (dsls) and if you look closely you will note that he has a ferociously furry arms. So he's possibly hair. I must of had blinders on before because I never realize how hot Kirby is. I don’t know why I haven’t notice him til now. Oh I know, I haven’t seen a Georgia game in who knows how long. Now I’m going to change that.
Born in Montgomery, AL, and grew up in Bainbridge, GA. Smart began his playing career at Bainbridge High School and went on to play college football at the University of Georgia. Smart graduated from the Terry College of Business in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in finance. He went undrafted in the 1999 NFL draft and signed a free-agent contract with the Indianapolis Colts. He spent the 1999 preseason with the team but was cut before the start of the regular season. In 2003, Kirby attended Florida State University for graduate school.
Smart began his coaching career with the University of Georgia in 1999, Valdosta State in 2001, and at Florida State while pursuing a master's degree from 2002 to 2003. Smart then spent one season under head coach Nick Saban in 2004 before following to Miami Dolphins in 2006 then to the University of Alabama in 2007. On December 1, 2015, it was "reported" that Smart had been hired as the next coach for Georgia.
Again married… aren't all the hot ones? He pretty much seems to have lived and breathed football his entire life, when he wasn't marrying his college sweetheart, Mary "Beth" Elizabeth Lycett (awww) and having three kids. There isn't much else I can say about him. He's good looking and I'd love to fuck him until his head caved in. Well, he would probably disagree.
Head Coaching Record Overall: 100–17 Bowls: 9–2 Tournaments: 5–1 (CFP) National 2 SEC (2017, 2022) 6 SEC East Division (2017–2019, 2021–2023)

He his fiancee and Brady are going to visit Taryn this Friday he says she won't listen to his interview so it won't ruin the surprise and talks how good she is a field hockey. Her preseason has started.
He loves to watch Barky in practice and is learning to do things and a special mention of Kucherov of Tampa one of his favorite players.
He wants to improve scoring from further out like Brady.
He's getting more recognised now but it's good and he's enjoying it.
He's being working on jumps, working on his skating, sprints and being strong weights but jumps.
He got in trouble for putting the cup in the ocean but the cup caretakers only told him afterwards but they understood but he got great memories.

Under Pressure (Alexia Putellas x reader)
A/N: Chapter 5 of The Legacy Series. I apologise in advance, it can’t all be sunshine and rainbows.
The biggest thing you feared was that you wouldn’t be able to feel at home in Barcelona but it turns out you had nothing to worry out. After the WICC cup there was two weeks of preseason training and after a day or two you had figured out how to play for the team. Sometimes you would watch from the sidelines during certain plays then go out onto the field and play them like you had been at the club your whole life. It’s safe to say you had settled in well.
When the first game of the season came, you were calm and ready to play as many minutes as Lluis would allow. Alexia had insisted that she picked you up so you two could go over any concerns you had. The woman had been your saving grace since moving to Barcelona. She could pick up when you were starting to get in your own head and managed to pull you out before you went too deep. She understood you as if she had known you your whole life when in reality it had been just over a 8 weeks since you first official meeting.
You had gotten to the ground a little bit earlier than everyone else; the team and fans included. You followed Alexia as you walked through the building but are confused when she walks straight passed the locker room.
“Let’s go the pitch” she suggests.
Now it wasn’t your first time being on this pitch as the team trained here a couple of times but today was different, today you would make your debut for Barcelona.
Alexia let you have your moment as you walked to the centre circle of the pitch. The energy was different today and it was the type you, as a football player, lived for. You take a few minutes to yourself before hearing Alexia calling your name.
“Time to get ready”
This time she does lead you into the changing rooms and you can see most of the team have arrived. All eyes are on you but you don’t think anything of it, that is until you see your locker. There hanging in the middle of your cubby was your shirt but what came as a shock is the number that was below your name. 14.
“Aitana” you turn you face her “I can’t accept this. I told you I wouldn’t come in here and take your number”
“You’re not taking it. I’m giving it to you. This is your number”
It wasn’t your number it was his and everyone knew that. Sure part of you wanted to wear your father’s number at this club but it’s is Aitana’s or at least it was.
You watch the game from the subs bench until the 65th minute mark. Lluis’ right hand man tells you to get ready as you had already warmed up. As you stand on the sidelines you make the mistake of looking back at the stand behind you. Everybody had their phone out ready to document the moment you step foot on the pitch. It only added to the pressure you were already feeling.
When the final whistle is blown you have to take a moment to gather your emotions. You join the team in the lap around the field and stop near the ultras stand. The fans soon stop shouting your name when they realise what you are doing. There above them sits ‘Estadi Johan Cruyff’.
“He’s be proud of you” Lieke joins you and looks up. She sees the direction of you gaze change as you look up to the sky.
“Lieke is right. You made him proud today” Alexia joins in.
You didn’t know what to do so you patted them both on the back and carried on with your lap. The fans had showed you constant support since your arrival so you stop to greet as many as you can before leaving the pitch.
You had survived game number 1.
The months that followed proved to be more difficult that your first. The fans, media and the rest of the world were quick to pick up on the fact that you were yet to score. This is a stat you were well aware of and you kicked yourself every time you left the pitch without having your name on the scoresheet. You have several assists to your name but none of them seemed to matter. Your job was to score and assist. You weren’t doing what the club brought you here to do and it was eating away at you.
“Sandra” you pull the goalkeeper aside one day after training “Would you mind staying back so I can practice my shots some more. It won’t be for long, maybe half an hour”
“Claro”
“Muchas Gracias”
Alexia noticed your absence in the locker room, of course she did. It was almost an hour later when you walked into the locker room where much to your surprise Alexia had been waiting.
“What are you still doing here? Do you have media or something?” You ask.
“I was waiting for you” She has no problem with admitting her reason.
“You want to join me in the ice baths?” You already know your answer. Alexia’s Spanish blood had a strong hatred for the cold.
In an attempt to change her mind, despite her not giving an answer, you take off your shirt and throw it at her before sending her a daring look.
“C’mon Ale, I dare you”
You walk away knowing that Alexia won’t back down to a dare. You are in the ice bath all but 2 minutes before she joins you. Albeit she enters much slower than you which if you ask any athlete only prolongs the discomfort that comes with ice.
“Now that I have joined you in this hell, care to tell me why you stayed back an extra hour?”
“I haven’t scored” you ego took a hit as you muttered the words.
“You scored loads today”
“Not today, in games”
The disappointment you are feeling doesn’t come as a shock to Alexia. She first noticed it after the second game when you had 5 shots on target and none of them went it.
“They are expecting me to score”
“Who is?”
“The club, the fans, the team, you”
“This team is a hard one to settle in to, just ask Lieke. All you need is a little bit of time”
“I don’t have time. Everyone’s eyes are on me and each game that passes is proving that I’m not good enough to play here”
Up until this point, Alexia was stuck in her place. The more she moved the more the freezing cold water touched fresh skin but seeing you down on yourself made her forget about the ice as she walks towards you, slowly.
“I know you’ve been feeling the pressure Y/N and I know it’s different to the kind I get. You leave for international duty tomorrow. Take this time to reset and come back with a clear head”
Although she wasn’t ready to admit, Alexia was dreading the day you leave and go to Zeist for camp.
“I’m going to miss you Alexia” you don’t hesitate to be honest with your team mate.
“You’re going to miss the team”
“Yes, I will but I will miss you in a different way. I spend more time with you than anyone else and you’re the one I call when I have my…” you want to say episodes but it sounds too dramatic.
Just as you had thought, being in Barcelona caused feelings you once buried deep down to come to the surface. Alexia found you one day after training when you were feeling too much and she stayed with you until you had calmed down. Since then she was the one you called.
“You have your friends and I’m sure you’ll see your family but if you do need me then i’m only a phone call away”
The timer you had set on your phone goes off and you and Alexia are quick to jump out of the ice bath.
“Promise?” You ask her as you get changed.
“I do and Y/N” you turn to face her “I’ll miss you too”
You were gone for ten days and you only had one episode but you called Alexia more than once. In fact you were in constant communication with her. Whoever got up first would text the other good morning and the day would go on from there. Even in different cities, Alexia played a huge part in your day.
Whilst in The Netherlands you did as she suggested, you used the time to clear your head and it worked. You played 90 minutes in both friendlies, one against Sweden, the only against Italy and you managed to score three goals in total. You hadn’t lost your touch but you did learn that the pressure in Barcelona had taken the fun out of the game or at least that is the reason you came up with. It wasn’t until the post match press conference that you realised it could be something bigger and much worse.
“Y/N you have played outstanding in these past two games yet your performances in Barcelona seem to lack the flair that we are used to seeing you play with. You are 9 games into the season and you still haven’t scored. We are so used to seeing you on the scoresheet and this stretch is the longest in your career without hitting the back of the net”
“Is there a question in there or are you simply reminding me of my failures” your tone is emotionless but that is far from how you are feeling.
“I didn’t mean to step out of line. It’s just you come here and put on a world class performance but fail to do so there. I think the question everybody want to know is why. What is the difference between here and there?”
The journalist’s words were running on a loop ‘what is the difference between here and there’.
You hadn’t asked yourself this question but the answer wasn’t hard to come up with. You always put your career first and your personal life second. You wouldn’t answer the journalist’s question as it was clearly rhetorical but you knew the answer. The difference was Alexia.
Sure she had been a positive impact on your mental health but should you have been training more instead of exploring the city with her? Should you have been getting more sleep instead of staying up to talk to her? Should you be more focused at training instead of stealing glances at her whenever you could? These are all questions that you needed to know the answer to for the sake of your career.
On the flight back to Barcelona you make the foolish mistake of searching your name on twitter. The fans had started to come up with theories as to why you weren’t playing like you normal do in Barcelona. One article popped up and it mentioned both your name and Alexia’s. She has taken part in two press conference whilst on international duty with Spain and your name had being brought up multiple times despite it not being relevant at the time. Maybe you had become a distraction for Alexia too. Sure she was scoring but it wasn’t as much as last year.
When you landed you saw that Alexia had texted you and asked you to come round to her apartment once you had unpacked the little suitcase you took home with you. Now was the time and as you drove over to her place you started to feel guilty about the decision you had to make.
“Y/N” The brunette pulls you in for a hug, once which you wished would never end.
“Hi Ale. Did you enjoy camp?” You pull away before her warmth makes you change your mind.
“We did ok, a win and draw wasn’t what we wanted but we move on. Did you? I watched your games you played amazing” Alexia walk through her apartment towards her kitchen. It was the area that hosted company the best.
“About that. There’s something I need to te—“
“So I was thinking” Alexia says and you know that she put not have heard you “There’s a new seafood restaurant that’s just opened by the marina. I know we have been spending a lot of time together as friends but I was hoping to take you here as something more. I want to take you on a date”
“Alexia I need some space”
Those four words had hurt her, the look on her face proved that.
“Did I do something wrong?” She asked.
“No. It’s me and what I am facing. You know about the pressure but the light that has been shone on me needs to stay on me. I won’t bring you into the media scuritiny that I am facing. Everyone is questioning my ability on the pitch and I need to prove them wrong. I need to prove to the club that signing me wasn’t a mistake. I have loved spending time with you Alexia but I need to focus on my performance. I cannot be a failure”
“I can help you” Alexia tries to bargain but you have already made up your mind.
“Ale, I need to do this alone” you take a couple of steps closer to her but she holds out her hand to stop you. You deserve it but it didn’t mean you had to like it “het spijt me”
Training doesn’t start for another three days due to the club wanting their players to recover from international duty. During this time you workout out 3 times a day; a run as the sun rises, a pitch session in the morning and a weights session in the late afternoon. You kept you body busy but Alexia still remained at the forefront of your mind. You began to think that you made a mistake in asking for space.
The first day back at Johan Camper is weird. For what could only be the 4th or 5th time since the season started, you had driven yourself to training. Upon arriving there were two people you didn’t want to see each for two different reasons. One of them just so happened to arrive at the same time as you.
“What you’re not riding with Alexia anymore?” Lieke questions as the two of you walk into the facility.
“I’m going to be driving myself for a while” you didn’t look at her, you couldn’t.
“Y/N what have you done?”
Lieke saw the way your behaviour change after the press conference but only now did she realise how much that man had gotten to you.
“I did what is best”
Sensing that now isn’t the time for an interrogation, Lieke drops the subject and the two of you walk in a comfortable silence.
“Ah dios miso, Alexia. I was only asking if you has anything planned this weekend. There’s no need to snap at me” Patri slightly scolds her team mate.
You know what she had planned this weekend and it included the two of you sitting at a candlelit dinner over looking the water but you had ruined that.
“I just want to focus on training. You understand that don’t you Y/N?”
She doesn’t give you a chance to answer as she walks out onto the field.
“So that’s what you did” Lieke whispers as the two of you begin lacing up your boots.
“You’ve seen what they’re saying. I won’t bring her into this media shit show, you know she hates it and I won’t be the reason for them going after her. I never wanted this for her but I was too late”
“You’re not telling me everything” Lieke knew you too well.
“I need to focus on my career. I can’t fail this club and I can’t tarnish his legacy”
“Y/N” Lieke reaches out to comfort you but you pull away.
“You think I want this? Of course I don’t” Your raised voice gains the attention of the other players in the room but you don’t care.
During training you stick to the players that won’t ask questions which is Lieke and Aitana but Jenni does make the effort to work with you as well even though she is one of Alexia’s best friends.
You try your best to focus on the drills that Lluis sets and it seems to work. You play very well and even the coach tells you that he is impressed, so much so that he is going to start you against Real Madrid at the weekend. This was your chance to prove the media wrong and rid the fans of any doubt. You had to score and score you did, twice in fact and you were able to assist one of Alexia’s goals.
This is how you were suppose to play at Barcelona yet you didn’t enjoy it in the slightest. You dreamed of how you’d celebrate your first goal and you wanted to do so with Alexia but because of your stupidity and need to please people who didn’t matter, you ruined that chance.
Your good form continued game after game and you could have sworn that things between you and Alexia were starting to return to normal. Of course this was only during training or playing because she was respecting your wishes.
“Y/N can I talk to you for a second?” Alexia asks one evening after a game review session.
“Let’s grab a coffee”
When the two of you arrive in the canteen, Alexia goes to the table and you get the coffees. This is how is was before and you loved that it was happening again.
“How long will you need this space? I talked to Lieke and she helped me understand your reasoning, I wished you would have told me but I know now. It wasn’t in my head, I know we had a connection and I need to know if there’s a chance of rebuilding that or if I need to move on”
“Alexia I chose my career over you”
“No you didn’t and we both know it. You needed to beat the pressure and you have. You have been amazing these past couple of months but I have hated not having you around, not even as a friend”
“Alexia we haven’t been just friends for a while and you know it”
“I do. It’s why I wanted to take you on a date, I still do by the way”
“I hurt you and I want to re earn your trust. How about we start with coffee on Sunday after the game”
“It’s a date” the smirk on her face was contagious.
“Alexia” you could tell she playing but you weren’t.
“What” she says innocently “it’s a date between friends”
