Talk about your bonding exercise: Picture no less than The Slag Brothers and Captain Caveman, as unlikely a relative as relatives could get from prehistory, camping out in prehistoric manner essentially beside some essentially pristine sort of lake ...

and deciding to take up the evening, with sunset somewhat imminent, in the lake, diving in as prehistoric a manner as it could get (as in wearing just themselves by and large) in the summery mildness of the lake waters just basically holding their breath,

diving to the lake bottom, finding the rays of the otherwise dying sun streaming in what basically is a rather mystical manner on the sands of said lake bottom, all three prehistorics kneeling in what is essentially underwater prayer (and most silent, obviously) unto their deities from the prehistoric time--

followed by what essentially could be considered prehistoric sacramental arousal between the legs, itself found to be at once mystical and delightful, leading to some bonding-type thigh sex most sacred during the ascent back to shore--and such a feel the ejaculatory show of release can bring about, just like in prehistoric time essentially!

Term Paper: Mortuary Practices in the Symbolic Culture of Neanderthals

Abstract: The significance of burial rituals for Homo neanderthalensis throughout their time on Earth attests to a rich symbolic culture and a cognitive capacity for social organization and connectedness, yet a sparse fossil record restricts comprehensive understanding of behavioral processes driving both unique and widespread interment techniques.

From pinpointing the advent of intentional burials, to finding distinct patterns within chronological and population groupings, there are no easy answers to the questions posed by available literature. Examining funerary site features alongside constructs such as symbolic culture, sociality, and modernity requires a reinterpretation of models rooted in our own species’ characteristics.

Nevertheless, it is clear that Neanderthals shared a complexity akin to that of early Homo sapiens, and future findings will only enhance our understanding of their advanced connection to the environment and peoples around them.

Especially considering that such could harken back to prehistoric times (or is that "prehysteric"?) and the ritual fires as would be lit for ritual orgies in offering to primitive deities of fertility ... as well as introducing the young to sexual wonder.

Prehistoric piercings may have been coming-of-age ritual

Archaeologists have discovered more than 100 ornaments for use in piercings in ~11,000-year-old adult burials in Türkiye, providing the earliest conclusive evidence for body perforation and suggesting that piercing may have been a coming-of-age ritual.

Earring-like objects have been found at Neolithic sites in South-west Asia before, but there was no clear evidence for their use in piercings.

"We knew that there were earring-like artifacts in the Neolithic, they have been found at many sites," says co-author of the research, Dr. Emma Baysal from Ankara University. "But we were lacking in situ finds confirming their use on the human body before the late Neolithic." Read more.

Etowah Mounds

Etowah Mounds (also known as Etowah Indian Mounds) is a National Historic Landmark and archaeological site near Cartersville, Georgia, USA, enclosing the ruins of a prehistoric Native American city whose original name is unknown. The present designation of Etowah means "town" in the language of the Muscogee-Creek Native Americans.

The city was built in three phases between c. 1000 - c. 1550 and the present site encloses three large and three smaller mounds surrounding a central plaza. The three large mounds were the chief’s residence (Mound A), the ceremonial site for religious rituals (Mound B), and the burial site for the nobility (Mound C); the smaller mounds are each attached or nearby the larger. Between the three was a plaza, which served for ceremonies, commerce, and as a ball field.

The city was built and flourished during the period known as the Mississippian culture (c. 1100-1540 CE) when many of the best-known mound sites in North America – such as Cahokia and Moundville – were also constructed. The city seems to have developed from a small village community of the Woodland Period (c. 500 BCE - 1100 CE) whose inhabitants were related to those who built Etowah and the later Creek and Muskogee Native American tribes of the region who lived in and near the site.

The Cherokee Nation arrived in the region from the north in the 15th century CE and settled at Etowah, but they, like many others in the area, had their numbers depleted by European diseases they had no immunity to. The Creek and Cherokee remained on the land, however, until gold was discovered in the region and they were forcibly removed to Oklahoma by order of President Andrew Jackson (served 1829-1837) in the 1830s, a tragic loss of land and heritage to the First Nations through the forced migration that has come to be known as the Trail of Tears.

The mounds were first noted by Americans in 1817 and test-sited in 1883 but no major excavations were begun until 1925 when the famous (or infamous) archaeologist Warren K. Moorehead (l. 1866-1939) arrived at the site. Moorehead’s work on Mound C – the most completely excavated area of the site to date – unearthed a number of significant artifacts which enabled the dating of the site to the Mississippian culture period. Excavations since Moorehead’s have been sporadic, but it is believed, based on what has been found and the general preservation of the site, that Etowah is the most intact of the Mississippian culture mound sites of the southeast built by the ancestors of the Muscogee-Creek Nation.

The Mound Builders & Mississippian Culture

The Mississippian culture is often cited as though it were the beginning of monumental mound-building, but mounds were built thousands of years before in North America. Watson Brake Mounds dates to c. 3500 BCE and Poverty Point to c. 1700-1100 BCE, with the Mississippian culture’s mounds following. The Mississippian culture has become the best known and most closely associated with mound-building, however, owing to the proliferation of mounds prior to that period and the skill of the people of the Adena culture (c. 800 BCE - 1 CE) and the Hopewell culture (c. 100 BCE-500 CE) who perfected mound-building and provided the model for later works such as the famous Mississippian Cahokia Mounds and Moundville.

Many mounds were constructed during the Archaic Period (c. 8000-1000 BCE) and the Woodland Period (c. 500 BCE - 1100 CE), but these differed from the later Mississippian culture sites, such as Etowah, in that those of the Adena were conical while those of the Hopewell were either effigy or flat-topped mounds. The Mississippian culture borrowed from both traditions in the creation of their mounds which were influenced, at least in part, by the religious beliefs spread throughout the region by the Hopewell culture.

 Rituals could include rituals with masks and various vessels. A woman (eventually a man) who had been performing a ritual ceremony was another being. Ritual practices apparently related to the role of shamans (...) illustrate totally unique findings of masks in the late Neolithic (and Eneolithic). The unmistakable mask had the female statuette „Vidovdanka” from the settlement Vinča - Belo Brdo (Serbia). On the face are to see mainly eyes and nose. The mask is clearly visible from the profile.

There is also a head of the figure with a mask or another head of a statuette with a mask. There is a hole on each side. These holes were used apparently to fasten.

Very famous is the female statue again Vinča culture from the settlement Liubcova on the left bank of the Danube (Banat, Judeţul Caraş-Severin, Romania).

The statuette holds a mask in the left hand and a jug in the right hand. The head of this statuette is broken.

The half of the ceramic mask of the Vinča culture in the size of face comes from a tell-settlement enclosed with two ditches in Uivar in western Romania.

Transformers and Cavemen:

Imagine if Transformers arrived on Earth during the prehistoric era instead.

And let’s say the Autobots tamed a group of cavemen so they can help them navigate the complicated landscape to track down Decepticons, but they are also growing close with each other.

Optimus is sitting at a desk of the spaceship, calculating plans, while about five to six cavemen were cuddling up in on his legs (and more are trying to climb up) and he’s gently petting all of them.

Ratchet trying to get onto his computer to work but there is a random caveman up there, trying to get his attention.

The cavemen carve little stone shape of the bots they like and the bots put it on their desks as little treasures.

Whenever an Autobot is sick or wounded, all the cavemen came in together, with little drums and flowers, and they do some singing and dancing rituals because they think this can bring their bots back to health. Ratchet find it annoying and always try to shoo them out, but most bots loved it and wanted them to stay.

The cavemen see the Autobots as deities, essentially, and even sometimes bring dead deers and pigs to try to sacrifice it to them (same way cats bring home dead mouse and birds). Optimus try to explain to them they are making a mess but they don’t always understand. So he just throw the offerings out when they are not looking.

The Decepticons also always find cavemen getting into their spaceship cause they thought it is a giant cave (mostly not the ones kept by the Autobots), so the cons tried to keep them out by putting human-sized rat traps all over the place, but the cavemen learn them quick, and Starscream stepped into more of them then any cavemen ever did.
