I am OK. I am doing good work. I am proud of myself.

I take good care of my cat. I take decent care of myself. I know when to fight. I know when to relax. I am going to pass my last two nursing school pre recs while working full time. I am going to get into nursing school. I am competent and capable. I am worthy of a friend's time, not as a transaction, but because I am an interesting and worthy human being.

Week 5 - The Studying Never Ends

Hi everyone! After 3 weeks studying for my patho exam 1, I am now studying for patho exam 2. This exam is going to take place next week on Thursday, meaning I have 10 days from today to study. Meaning, that a lot of my time will be spent in the library, at my desk at home, and sleeping. In addition, for intro to nursing, we’ve had a pretty easy week so far. We’ve learned about nursing and its ethics. As for psychology, we have started to raise our virtual children. It's a program where we raise virtual children and learn about the development of children as we raise them! So far there aren't any updates except for constantly studying!

going to start studying for my placement tests a month before I have to take them which sounds unhinged but I’m planning on doing pre nursing so I’ll have to be hardcore studying for a while anyways

Paparazzi had invaded the ER.

The shift really wasn’t going Billy’s way. He hadn’t even originally been scheduled but then Heather had a family emergency and here he was. 10pm until 8am, desperately trying to clean what he seriously hoped was mud off his boots in the five minutes he’d taken to hide in the restroom.

He abandoned them in a cubicle and made a silent prayer that nobody was brave enough to steal them before heading back to the front desk.

The man who presumably the paparazzi was there for sat on a plastic blue chair. He was wearing nothing but a feather boa on his torso, and skimpy denim shorts with outrageous thigh high boots. Robin was making a valiant attempt to shoo out the cameras whilst engaging him in light conversation.

The man’s eyes then shot to Billy. He got up. Legs were wobbly and his head lolled slightly as he moved but he made his way to the front desk and pinned down Billy’s arms in a surprisingly strong grip.

“You. You’re hot!”

The ability to talk seemed to take him by surprise but he marched on, shouting “I’M STEVE!” in a manner that would be heard by the nightclub over the road and promptly collapsing in Billy’s arms.

Billy wrestled him into the nearest spare bed, ignoring the security guards and blathering PA and let Steve to look at his finally dry Dr Martins, which weren’t strictly allowed on the ward but seemed to keep him happy.

Then more patients came, with more serious ailments than Steve and Billy just forgot to take one of his boots back to his locker.

When he got back it was gone.

One long sleep later, post shift, Billy was accosted by Heather pounding at his door. She shoved the newspaper in his face then walked off.

“POPSTAR KING STEVE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR DISHY NURSE”

A photo of Steve sitting next to his missing boot, doing a sad face, sat under the headline. He was offering 10,000 dollars to the person who could find the owner.

Fuck.

Do you have anything you've been thinking on but just haven't made a post about it yet? Also I'm really enjoying your fic!

I have a few things but it's likely mostly headcanons that I consider somewhat disconnected from my analysis.

Curly's parents had him old, only child, died shortly after he graduated and got the pony express position. It was the last big thing they saw him do which is a reason he stayed for so long.

Doesn't admit how much their death affected him

Jimmy has a largish family. One of the cases of too many kids to keep tract of, parent never really noticed any of them nor their behaviors

Anya lived in a lot of houses growing up, regular supportive family that just struggled to support themselves.

Became a nurse largely to avoid their financial struggles but mostly because she felt too many people weren't being cared for and advocated for in the world properly

Swansea likes high top sneakers most. Likes how snug they fit and how they shield his ankles at work

Curly has a bit of a caffeine problem since he can’t sleep. Can occasionally be found wandering the ship at “night” when he had some too late or just couldn’t sleep.

Daisuke knows a little about a lot of things. Starts conversations with “did you know” a lot but please don’t ask him deeper questions

Curly has known Jimmy longer but has worked with Anya and Swansea longer, met them during his middle years, met Jimmy shortly before college.

Swansea rents a house, Daisuke’s family lives in a big nice apartment, Curly has a condo, Anya live in a small one bedroom apartment and Jimmy has a studio.

Curly's home is very disconcerting. It's too normal to a like uncanny degree.

Anya is ambidextrous but prefers her left.

Anya and Curly are both not native English speakers so occasionally they forget words and bond over the mutual mocking they get from the rest of the crew. Daisuke knows some Japanese but is still learning, never picked it up as a kid

Only Swansea and Daisuke know how to drive, Earth in my mind is very post capitalist so only older people and like the extremely wealthy can afford cars.

It's also like walkable just due to how many businesses are in your face. Probably strict living vs shopping districts

I have more but the way that I headcanon about them is like too long.

Week 4- Stressing Over Nothing

Hi everyone! This week’s theme so far is stressing over nothing! I’ve been in and out of the library stressed over studying for a statistics exam while also studying for Patho. It’s definitely been a stressful week so far and it’s not even Friday! Here’s the update in my classes: Patho: learning a new entire module every class. Learning about fluid imbalances and how to manage them for patients. 

Psychology: Learning about the development of children’s way of thinking. We had a visitor come in on Tuesday talk about Pathways to Healing which is an organization that helps survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in the area. I have linked them if anyone is interested! 

Intro to Nursing: We’re currently learning about the career options in nursing and how many different fields you can go into with a BSN (Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing).
