pre-game shuichi with a darling who's the only person to show him kindness

pairing: pre-game!shuichi saihara x gn!reader

shuichi doesn't have much going for him. he's quiet and awkward, doesn't have any friends and he's obsessed with danganronpa, to the point where people think he's ‘creepy’ or a ‘freak’

nobody even bothers to talk to him or even acknowledge his existence! except for you…

shuichi is so startled when you first approach him. you offer him a smile, greet him whenever you see him and eventually even talk to him about danganronpa!

at first, shuichi thinks you're just pretending to like him! but as weeks pass and you're still so kind to him, he realizes you're as kind of a person as you seem to be!

he falls head over heels for you upon that realization and while he still has an obsessive love for danganronpa, you become his new obsession!

shuichi begins to stalk you and learn everything he can about you, so that he can always react the way he thinks you'd like it best when you talk to him!

he couldn't bear to lose you, to lose your smile and that kindness of yours that brightens up his every day, so he practically studies you, until he learns just how to behave to be liked by you!

after all, you're all that matters! even if he has to change everything about himself, as long as he keeps you in his life, it'll be worth it!

I know the rule of three kind of gets in the way of this, but I really wish we got to see one more audition tape in trial 6. Shuichi is a good pick to introduce the horror of the concept, and Kaede and Kaito were both great picks to show how their words of encouragement were "scripted" by Tsumugi, but it feels a little Shuichi and Maki centric. Like, yes, Kaede and Kaito had a big impact on everyone, but mostly on Shuichi (and Maki with the latter). It also makes sense on a meta level, since the game needs to get an emotional response not only from the characters but from the player. The games writing kinda lends the player to being very emotionally attached to either Kaede or Kaito, which makes this scene work better.

THAT BEING SAID. A Tenko audition tape would've been really really cool to put the spotlight back on Himiko and her arc for a moment and plunge her deeper into despair too, maybe moreso than with just seeing the Kaito and Kaede tapes.

when your favorite character makes it to the finale

As a fellow Danganronpa fan, I'd like to imagine that if Pre-game Shuichi wasn't, you know, gone forever because he'd given up his life to become an anime character like a dumbass and could somehow witness our Shuichi kick So Much Ass in Trial 6, he would be the one cheering him on the loudest. After all, Shuichi is his perfect little detective guy and the person he once hoped he could become. That's why I can hear the "You tell them!" in his voice in my head so very clearly. And in spite of being responsible for ending Pre-game Shuichi's favorite TV show in the world, at the core of it, Shuichi was ultimately fighting on behalf of his friends for what was right all the way to the end.

And who wouldn't want to get behind that?

Why would you make pre-game Ouma into a soft pitiable can-do-no-wrong character when you could somehow make him worse. and crazier.

Harukawa is looking at him like she’s disturbed, like she’s only just now realising that this isn’t a lie, her hands clenching and unclenching at her sides. “You…”

She doesn’t finish the thought, though, trailing off and looking slightly lost, and when he’s sure she won’t continue, he lifts a hand to rub the back of his neck, letting out a breath.

“Okay,” he says. He wants to know what Saihara means by sidekicks, but there’s so much that’s confusing to him right now, he doesn’t want to reach for excessive information and get his head even more muddled than it already is. Instead, he runs his hand through his hair, wrinkling his nose when it comes away sweaty, and reaches down to wipe it off on his hospital gown. “Uh, I got another question, if that’s okay?”

“Sure,” Saihara says, breathlessly, one of his hands lifted to cup his mouth. “What is it?”

“Who am I?”

dating pre-game korekiyo shinguji

pairing: pre-game!korekiyo shinguji x gn!reader

tags: minor hint at his past, korekiyo has issues with being touched by people, established relationship, comfort

korekiyo is a loner, who's having a hard time making friends with similar interests as him

even if it wasn't for his interests that are a bit odd for a boy his age, his looks aren't helping him much either

he's always wearing a surgical mask and gloves and he can't get himself to get his hair cut

yet somehow you didn't seem to mind all those things! 

korekiyo was happy that he found someone who treated him normal and even happier when that someone wanted him to be their boyfriend

once in a relationship with korekiyo, you start to learn more about him and why he is the way he is

he's doesn't like being too close to other people, nor does he like being touched by them, after some bad experiences he had in his life

the gloves prevent him from having to have skin to skin contact with other people, while his mask is mostly there to make him feel more comfortable

it takes korekiyo a while until he starts to hold hands with you and it takes him even longer until he takes the gloves of for the first time

after a while though, he doesn't mind holding your hands without gloves anymore, having grown used to your hands intertwined with his and the warmth emerging from them

he even starts to enjoy being this close to you…

he'll still keep on his mask for most of the times though, only pulling it down when he wants to kiss you and pulling it back up right after

in regards to his hair, you are the only one who gets to cut it! he doesn't want other people touching you and he doesn't mind if you're bad at cutting his hair – the act alone matters!

one thing I don’t get is why a popular “Pre game Kokichi” .. personality was the “shy soft boy”?

it’s ducking Kokichi. He ain’t gon be shy or soft.

How I see it, Pregame personalities are probably very similar to In game, but In game are more dramatized. Pre game are irl people, and in game are characters from a show.

for instance, Pregame Angie probably found some comfort in her beliefs, and would talk about it from time to time, but she wouldn’t talk constantly like she was her god’s chosen Oracle.

Pre game Kaito would still push people to better themself, but he wouldn’t have the same fire that keeps in game Kaito going. And he’d definitely be more mean ig, and willing to hurt others, but a nice guy at heart, just a bit intense

Pre Game Kokichi might be a bit quieter, and willing to help (think to how before they got their first memories, Kokichi was first to offer to go check out if the ex Islas were still around) but like, he’s still a mischievous and extremely smart guy. I also feel like, given how passionately he hates danganronpa in game, he wasn’t the biggest fan of it Pre game

Also for some reason I randomly got the idea that he will throw his shoes at your head if you spook him, and I don’t know why

That’s just my thoughts tho
