You KNOW it’s a good collaborative art game when it features a literal Exquisite Corpse. What an absolute banger.
COMING THIS SUMMER:
7 MONTHS 36 ARTISTS 1 REALLY PERSISTENT SKELETON
IT'S THE 2023 TRUNGOTHON MEGA ART TELEPHONE GAME
[RATED R]
RIDICULOUS. this was so big that even with tumblr's recently expanded image limit i still had to weld every other image together to fit it into one post, but if you want to see every image in its full glory, i made a page for it on my website (jankily hand-coded and probably not very mobile friendly).
it was so fun to see which elements stuck around and for how long. i still can't believe the skeleton got banished and then resurrected 15 iterations later!
huge thanks to everyone who participated. in order:
@mobileleprechaun, ink drinker, @dimetrodrawn, @escherbug, @gachimushi, @ikrutt, @dunwichdrawsstuff, @mathpope, @bedupolker, @solidagold, @a-beepbop, thenauticalwarlock, @ohpsshaw, @eisly, @juenavei, me, @librivore42, @greedol, @mechabutchzilla, @phanta-friends, @tickfleato, @skelizard, elixer, @espimyte, @noctomnis-art, @bluedotjpeg, @fetus-cakes, @iguanodont, @flame-shadow, @kombuchaclock, @slimekingmike, @crtastrophe, @leona-florianova, @skelebee, @nutspider, @palossssssand, and gachimushi again for the header image to this post
whew! now time to seriously consider a yearlong 72-artist game...
#long post#AND I NEVER HAD TO DRAW A SKELETON#my own art#god this rules I have like 10 faves#skelizard’s probably for sure#prawn justice now#also LOOK AT THAT WEB SIGHT

Let me throw in my two cents for the Rule 63 names just because I wanted to think this through myself. - For the kids, the ones in parentheses are alternate suggestions. - Dawn and Dusk I took from suggestions on here. I love them! - For the trolls there are multiple suggestions because I want their names to have meaning - I'd love to hear your favorites out of all of these Beta Kids: John > Joan (Jess, Joni) Rose > Ross (Rory, Ryan) Dave > Dawn (Davi, Dove, Dani) Jade > Joel (Jace, Jode)
Alpha Kids: Jane > Josh (Jace, Judd) Roxy > Roco (Remy, Ronn, Robb) Dirk > Dusk (Dara, Diri) Jake > Jodi (Jace, Jaka, Joye) Beta Trolls: Aradia > Averan (Lake Avernus was believed to be the entrance to the underworld to the ancient Romans) Abraxa (Abraxas, ruler over many heavens and circles of creation, is labeled as a demon or the God above Gods) Azatho (Azathoth, Blind Idiot God in the Cthulhu Mythos, that only understands his dreams) Azrael (Angel of Death)
Tavros > Tauran (Meaning Bull) Thalia (Ancient Greek word meaning to flourish) Tallos (Talos is a brass made by Hephaestus for Minos) Tarsus (Multiple meanings, one is the distal part of the leg of an insect) Jinniu (The jīn niú zuò, means the golden bull constellation, it’s the chinese name for Taurus) Taurin (Tauri is what stars in the Taurus constellation are designated as)
Sollux > Callor (Sollux is a mix of Castor and Pollux’s names, the legend behind the astrological sign. This is an alternative name.) Solene (Meaning Sun)
Karkat > Cancri (Stars in the Cancer constellation are marked with this name) Krabbe (Small crab, shrimp or prawn) Krasis (the practice of mingling water with wine) Kalika (Known more as Kali in the west. A major Hindu goddess associated with death, violence, time. In later traditions, she’s associated with motherly love. Sounds more like Damara.) Kraken (Mythical sea creature) Karmen (Arabic name meaning generous/selfless)
Nepeta > Leonis (Gamma Leonis is a star in the Leo constellation) Nallus (Nalus meaning to pounce) Nimrod (A mighty hunter before the Lord and a king. His character is similar to Gilgamesh.) Felino (Feline) Kanaya > Kareem (Meaning generous in Arabic) Khamba (Khambalia is a fixed star in the Virgo constellation)
Terezi > Tribus (Latin for tribe, the term is used to denote a division within the state in ancient Rome)Tribun (Tribunal, meaning a court of justice) Tassos (A Greek name meaning resurrection) Themis (The Greek goddess of justice, note that the name is feminine.) Equius > Equine (Related to horses) Eponna (Epona is the celtic goddess of horses) Consus (An Italian deity, on festival days celebrating him, horses are given time off of work, name is masculine) Pegsus (Pegasus is a winged horse, I just noticed now that I spelt Peg Sus and it fits) Vriska > Varren (Varen means superior, it also means God of the celestial sky) Vesper (Refers to Venus or the evening star) Virion (A virus particle outside of a host cell) Victor (Winner) Gamzee > Gaiety (Meaning lighthearted or merrymaking) Gauche (Lacking grace or acuteness) Algedi (Stars in the Capricorn constellation are called this, it means kid) Eridan > Ephira (A water-nyph and daughter of Titans Oceanus) Nereid (The Nereids are female spirits watching over bodies of seawater) Feferi > Fathom (A nautical unit of measurement to measure depth. The Old English meaning means outstretched arms.) Fifral (A Fife rail is a rail on a European-style ship.) Fisher (An occupational name for fishermen) Fizzle (Meaning a sputtering sound)
These genderbend names are so amazing and love the meaning detail ones for the trolls. My faves have to be John > Joni Rose > Ryan (like Ryan North, who made Ryanquest, who also worked with Hussie) Jade > Joel Roxy > Robb Jake > Jodi Aradia > Averan and Azrael (the latter would be funny and cool considering Undertale) Tavros > Thalia Sollux > Solene Karkat > Kalika Nepeta > Felino and Nallus Kanaya > Khamba Terezi > Tribus (Themis is another as I know a friend named a Karezi fankid this) Vriska > Varren or Vesper Equius > Eponna Gamzee > Algedi Eridan > Ephira and Nereid Feferi > Fifral

Big Mama's Chinese Roots and a Connection to Tang Shen?
First off, to preface... this whole thing started because @caro-rolo figured out that the Mystic Portal Key doohickeys in Rise are actually just some kind of fancy compasses that have North, South, East, and West written in Chinese characters.
Now, the first thought I had to learning this was "Tang Shen" because in the TMNT universe where Japanese influence is pretty heavy, she is notable for having a Chinese name.
She is also the love interest of Hamato Yoshi in many different variations. Though in Rise, that role belongs most notably to Big Mama, with Tang Shen being a blink and you miss it easter-egg credit on the cover of Jistu for Justice:
Mama is also most likely the source of where Splinter got his mystic portal key, and she even has one of her own in her office. Judging by how much control she has over the Hidden City, from the Battle Nexus, to demolition derbies, to train stations, to crime rings, she seems to have a large control over just who all is in her city, and these keys could very well be something she controls directly.
Now, Big Mama has all the set ups for having typical TMNT Japanese roots. Even her home estate seen in "Hidden City Job" has a very Asian look to it inside and out:
Plus, the whole "her being a yokai", makes it easy to assume she is based on some kind of Japanese spider demon like Jorōgumo, Yatsukahagi/Tsuchigumo, or Ōgumo, etc.
But "Yokai" can also be used to describe the Chinese term "yaoguai" which is basically the same definition.
So if Mama were a Chinese spider demon instead, the first one who comes up on a quick Google search is "zhī zhū jīng" or "spider woman". These are 7 spider demon sisters who fight Sun Wukong in Monkey King: Journey to the West.
Here, the spiders changed into seven beautiful young ladies who wanted to eat the flesh of Sun Wukong's master, Tang Seng, which is said to make the consumer immortal and forever young.
"Tang Seng"... "Tang Shen"... sounds pretty similar.
And aren't there also some animation ties from ROTTMNT to Lego Monkey King? Tangent side note, but there's a spider demon queen in that universe too and guess what? SHE'S PURPLE!
And where did Mama and Lou Jistsu first meet? On set of one of his movies "Crouching Shrimp Hidden Tiger Prawn" in 1984. A movie where an actress like Tang Shen could very well have ties to? (We'll come back to this at the end.)
Another chip in the Chinese vs Japanese bucket is Big Mama's Security Team:
At first, I thought their distinct faces represented Blue Japanese Hannya/ Oni masks, but what if they're supposed to be Chinese Nuo masks instead? Not unlike Zuko's Blue Spirit mask in ATLA.
You could also argue these guys are wielding a sort of Qinglong Ji or Fangtian Ji, which are Chinese spear or polearm weapons. (But if anyone knows what those spear thingies are really called, please let me know, it's driving me nuts!)
...
In conclusion, I got sent on a massive rabbit hole because of a fictional compass and regret nothing! 🧭
Now what is Big Mama's connection to Tang Shen? Are they related? (The actress does look a bit purple.) They could be sisters like the 7 sisters of the Monkey King lore. Did Mama seek to get rid of Tang Shen so she could get closer to Lou Jitsu herself? Are they the same person? Is Big Mama based on Japanese or Chinese folklore? Did any of this make any sense at all?
Let me know what you think, and thanks for joining me for another deep dive into another one of my random ROTTMNT theories!
EDIT: (PS- Sorry, if the "read more" messes the order of these up, but the scroll was annoying me in my own tags.) 😅

Coming and Going - Some More Vivzie Shit
Before you start, this is an extremely LONG read covering this account, my views of Viv, my content and my relationships within this Godforsaken fandom. This is my most up to date thoughts in 2023 on everything. This is something I feel necessary for me to do.
Contents (in no particular order):
Current Situation
Relationships in the fandom
Why I started this Blog
Thoughts on Viv/co and how they've changed since m previous posts
the fans
future thoughts and moving on
accountability
If any of this interests you, read ahead. Titles will be provided for easier following.
Why I started this blog
Originally this was a blog like any other; art, reblogs n shit. As I grew more into a Viv fan, I started posting fanart and follow blogs on her work. The more I learned the more I hated, and thus I began to become a critic. I was pissed off at viv wasting her potential, and eventually I became just as toxic and shitty as both her hardcore haters and majority of her fans. Some takes were good, some bad, either way I got too involved, too absorbed and let it consume me. Stupidly getting into conflicts, stuff like that. And I became a hardcore hater. I vocalised it. My initial aims long lost. Then I disappeared.
Vivzie, co, all that
I went from adoration to disgust of this lot. Now though, whilst I deeply dislike Viv and her crew, deeply dislike majority of the fans, I just feel... Gross. Hollow. Exhausted. I have a lot to say on Viv and my previous takes but truthfully I am too lazy and too tired and ultimately have better shit to do than go through every little thing right *now*. But I do want to at least cover a few here to do some justice, I guess.
So to skim through a few. Lets go.
Viv tracing. Honestly, tracing is a useful skill but it's bad when you trace another's work, don't credit and claim it as your own. This includes modified tracing (starting with a trace then stylising over it to make it more your style). Having nazi, nonce, etc characters I think people take extreme. These sorts make excellent "love to hate them" villains. Owning such characters isn't a crime. It's how theyre portrayed and the purpose. The nuance - something to constantly keep in mind. Her romanticism sausage party art is yikes. With her age, maturity, humour, I believe she saw this as some kind of fucked up humour, having enough awareness to understand the taboo to hide this stuff yet I do feel this was a stupid kid doing stupid edgy shit. Does that make it right? No. But I definitely dont think Viv is some nonce or nazi supporter. Later finding out how this profile was discovered makes me equally question morality on all sides. Vivs beastiality nonce artwork with the snake tub, Ive seen private dms to solidify that viv admitted to both owning this piece and that it was supposed to be a joke. Once again, I genuinely dont think shes a nonce BUT she needs to realise that if that character was below 18, she has drawn child prawn (censorship whooo) as well as distributed it via sharing online. That's still something really serious and gross. I get her humour is immature and dark, but theres lines you dont cross. And I dont find that art funny in any ways, it genuinely looks like a perverts wank bank rather than funny. Idk if the lad was one of them shapeshifting animals either but being in a human form in this instance does make the portrayal a beastiality one, due to human presenting. That's not cool. As much as I loathe those who would abuse kids or animals, I dont think this is Viv necessarily. Though I believe in this sense, Viv needs to understand and work with her cats more. She's done a lot of wrong shit but false accusations derail from solid proven issues that need addressing. At the least, Im glad the animal pervs and nonce stuff is gone. Heartbreaking that shit is so often heard of. This is the sort of thing Id laugh at as a kid but now Im grown and look after little ones, it fills me with nothing but sickening horror. Whilst vile vile vile, I havent seen anything concrete to prove or imply Viv supporting/participating in such depravity. And I fucking pray it stays that way.
You have apologised in the past. But the way you did so, the way you spoke about it afterwards and the way you are now proves it was insincere. Something to shut 'haters' up.
Viv, with all your shit, neurodiversity and late maturity, you're still yet to change for the better. The people you hang with are some of the most vile, toxic, narcissistic and shitty people. Yes men. You hire fans who'll do anything to please you, which can open the path to abuse (note: CAN, not a definitive, though in this case...). You equally are still a shitty person still. You're coming apart at the seams. Critique and hate aren't the same, and unfortunately you'll need adaptability and tough skin in this world as people can be very cruel. You lie. You twist like a constrictor. Charm the more susceptible. A very well known kissarse of yours on twitter who was quite the bully was followed by yourself, liked tweets then hired. They arent the only one either. Whilst you cannot be responsible for every single fans every single action, their are responsibilities you hold. Dont like tweets that encourage hate, dont reward negative behaviours, check your own public actions and how they may influence (act like a prick and those who admire you will mimic). Behind the scenes, treat people right. Dont play favourites. Always have integrity. Learn to incorporate critiques as well as filter out legitimate hate. I know it's not easy, but it's necessary to survive.
Viv, I can wholeheartedly empathise with receiving harsh hate early on in life and online. I know how that can taint and stunt the mind. But the thing is, you have to eventually break from that. BE responsible. Grow. Ive been toxic before. That's partially why I fixate on some of this. Equally Im angry. You ARE a VERY talented artist with potential. A shitty writer, do work on that (as well as diverse stories to tell - gain those experiences or listen to those who've been there - esp as you're doing this as a living) but when you're passionate about a piece, you're talented. And when you're not, you do what we all do and dole shite out (btw people thought I was bullying Viv when I said her P5 Alastor piece was bad in comparison to her other works. The proportions were awful, you could tell she just wanted it out the way. A startling lack of soul.) From what I've seen, you crave approval and admiration to compensate from the past cruelty. I can empathise. But that shit isnt healthy. And you block yourself from growth. You cultivate a tainted crop. You poison yourself. You sacrifice integrity and the gruelling work of improvement for the instant gratification of worship from fans by bending to their desires and your own at the cost of quality. What couldve been groundbreaking storytelling and visuals is nothing more than a glorified low-level fanfic. Wasted potential. Something I cant stand. I have been harsh as that same method helped me. In doing so, I disregarded your own humanity. I wish I conducted myself better and though I never encouraged abuse, I'm sorry that my words may have contributed to this shit cycle.
Your staff and many of your fans have... Concerning attributes, such as the fetishing of toxic relationships, blurred boundaries, disregard of boundaries, etc. The stark numbers of such unpleasant people flocking you is extremely worrying.
I do deeply dislike you. I do feel you have ultimately caused your own shit - been there - but I do pity you as well. I wish you'd go the effort to be you. To be less try hard. To allow growth and change, diversity, stop petting hatred. Get a better crowd, esp one willing to actually help you to be better by pointing shit out. To stop mass abusing others. I do dislike you greatly. I wish you would do better but all you've been doing is doubling down on shit. I feel Icarus needs to fly closer to the Sun for change to happen. It feels like the only way you may actually ground yourself and smell the roses. I just wish folk could be better as a whole. Sick of shit like this. Whilst no one is perfect, there's still standards to uphold. Growth to be had. Breach stereotypes and fetishes that dehumanise, work on yourself and your relationships with others. Careful on your humour and learn how to execute humour properly. Glad you're not doing beastiality art though. You cant please everyone and shouldnt have to in order to be admired and popular. Just be better. Also hating kids isnt a personality. I get not everyone cares about them but dont take shit too far. They can be gross and annoying but in the end they're just... Children. Theyre learning and growing. You can only hope they bloom into decent people. Admittedly a kid tripping is pretty funny but there's a limit. If you want to portray a creep, don't do anything that endorses their behaviours. Theyre vile, remember. No kid deserves that. Work on financing too. Medicating via shopping is a dangerous road. Dont bend to social pressures (such as getting wasted because friends do if you dont want to). Vet your staff. Better ethics.
Fandom
And the fans are just... A minority are lovely. I had a HuskerDust fan be respectful of our differences and hope the best for them. But the majority I've encountered or witnessed have been off their fucking heads. Often encouraged by Viv or staff. The staff and fans are now claiming that critics are homophobic racists falsely (which implies certain races, sexualities, identities, etc are absolved of criticism - which is both favouritism and it's own form of bigotry. Hell, it's spitting on the real victims of such crimes over mediocre cartoons and digital lunacy). These same people then insult people for... being cis and straight. Firstly, that's also bigotry and a dick move on identity and invalidation, it's also false in some cases (proving folks just spew shit), it demands special treatment for identities when we're all equal and deserve to be treated with equity, it's also just... Weak. Bigots can fuck off BUT many critiques have been about inconsistency in plots, writing and design issues, etc. Nothing pertaining identity.
Fans have been hypocritical like their idol. We're all hypocritical to an extent. But the madness... Ok, Blitzo uses retard (note: neurodivergant and have right to say that word, even then it also means delay "fire retardant" as well as where I live it's not nearly as bad as another term used yet is still fine in the US.) I think this isn't an issue as it can show things or speech patterns of the character. Then fans have falsely accused critics of ableism who either havent used the word, quoting this or even have right to say it yet coddle this fictional character. This was referenced in a recent episode with Blitzo about to call another character (rumours are this nurse is autistic but I do NOT have full confirmation. Pinch of salt!) retard before retracting it as it being unacceptable to say. Blitzo really wouldnt give a shit. Likewise I feel this is one of those permanant grey areas in fiction; is it? Isnt it? in terms of using terms. Of Mice and Men used slurs against black folk, that was to reflect that time and the character's mentalities. Not an author's mirror. Likewise, it wasn't used as humour either. Coming from ONE ND, I couldn't care. I feel this is hyperfocused on over more glaring issues, as well as a benefit of the doubt (being character mindset and possibly not author projection). Feel free to have your own opinions, and I only speak for myself there. I can empathise with those who may feel more sensitive to the word (which is why Im more careful in it's use) but as someone who is also technically affected, I just... Personally dont feel too bothered. Likewise, I'm learning to hold more human compassion and flexibility to error and human flaws rather than perfect standards (again, this wont justify or absolve. And more serious things like an assault doesnt apply. It's daft this needs clarifying, it should be the bare minimal). Not everyone will agree on everything, but there's just some lines that should be a standard. I think the staff and fans overall conduct themselves immaturely, cruelly, and cause harm.
I regret in engaging in some arguments. Not worth it. I think I shouldve been more compassionate to difference yet equally not been so volatile with harassment. HunterGirl's HD discord hate on me is... Something I shouldn't have fed. Hate me, that's fine. But the fact someone so close to Viv allowed the harassment is disappointing and shitty. Bitch behind the scenes but dont go out at people. Likewise behind the scenes talk, dont threaten folk either *Viv* (at one of your ex-staff). Call someone the biggest wanker you know but there are limits you dont cross. As with Viv and co, I once hoped for improvement but I just lack faith in that now and I'd just rather stay away from it all. Too much toxicity I've allowed myself to bathe in and hatred and venom only burns. Only burns more of the same product. It's not worth it. Don't even have the skills or assets to do any good from this either. If I can't help, itd be best to support those who can help whilst staying away from the vitriol. Stick to the facts and my own integrity. It's tiring to be involved in all... this. Again, I can only speak on myself hence why I'm only saying me shit. Any vents can be done to friends but otherwise none of this has resulted in any good. And I contributed to cruelty as well. It aint right.
Friendships
Bit more personal and past. Ive made many nice friends. Friends Im still friends with now, and I thank them. With certain issues arising, theyve been the anchors to ground and account me. Real friends. Friends that deserve to be shown more how appreciated they really are. Thank you. They have guided me into better awareness and accountability. We have our own little group now for art, gaming and hopefully any other group activities. Friend stuff. We'll rant, we'll vent, but we're actually doing friend shit now. Ive hyperfixated enough on negatives. Dragged others into an abyss with me. Its not fair for them.
There is a friend here, I think they dont see my stuff anymore idk. I was warned about them. Through all Ive seen and my experiences, I wish you to get help. Get off tumblr. Get off twitter. Both can be extremely toxic as well as cultivate toxicity. Be accountable. Get help. And focus on you. I still worry for you, though I am disgusted on some of your actions. Treat the living with respect. Learn that people will try to bait you. Let go of paranoia (not easy), confront your past and grow. And please... Dont lie. Dont lie about events that occur as you're creating your own misery. Learn to step back and not be so forceful and preachy. Been there, it's not a good place. Experience a diverse crowd on a human level. And please spend some time away from the internet. People really can be pricks sometimes. Even ourselves. You're also pretty hair trigger and tempered. A bit like me sometimes LOL. Learn to balance that. Trust me.
To mates on here who Ive only spoken to here, if you'd still like to be mates, I can link you our group if you're up for group art and gaming or activities, or to another social media account to chat.
To unanswered asks, I'll try but not promise to address them. Those which ended up deleted, I can only remember the one question sorry. And the answer is Sitri. Sitri would be a good HB replacement for Stolas, he's quite the love/lust expert and a focus on men. Fun chap! I had more for this answer but again, cant be arsed with this shit anymore. Sorry.
I joined a spindle critique group. What I learned is the union from bitterness isnt solid grounds for friendship. I wont go into details as it's a private and resolved matter. I shared the full log to current friends to have a neutral and raw take. These are friends I can trust will yank my chain if Im in the wrong. And they did. They spoke of the wrongs on both sides. These are folks who are guiding me to better. Folks I have trusted with the full log, full transparency. I appreciate you both and take your words into stride daily. To old friends, I would rather friends make their own choices. I never hated you, but was hurt on this other side of you. Likewise Im sorry to make you feel that way. Im sorry to have trauma dumped (recently discovered this term, and using it to manage myself better.) There was only one individual that I was given uneasy vibes on and made that clear from the start. I tried with them. For awhile, I even started to see them as a genuine friend. In the end, we were too clashing. We didn't mesh well. My initial feeling on the situation ultimately felt true. But when I open up about home issues and emotions, I dont want them weaponised. Especially as Ive been doing some irl work to find many holes in my perspective as well as others hard work in being involved with me. Things are different now. Never felt it needed in convo, I was too fixed on my own hurt. Home was self preservation at those times. I regret opening up over some personal issues. None of this absolves me of poorly handling situations and anger issues. Near the end, I felt more wary to be more open on certain things. But I shouldve been a better friend. I never liked how catty things got. Trolled. We all just became knobs in one way or another.
My ask to remove my triggers was me hoping to do good for you. Remove a trigger that would inevitably end up being a large part of the group sooner or later, maybe this summer. Especially as I 'lacked empathy'. I thought I was doing good. I never lied about it, and feel bitter that was twisted. If I explained something, I was wrong. Kept it brief, I was bitchy. I was willing to endure a trigger if it made things easier in the group, and the situation was more than a stupid ship. Ive had triggers Ive adapted to handle better now. And public, you are not entitled to my medical history however we're in an age where youre both valid and entitled to privacy yet must breach privacy to have a voice. I have an ED. A certain word wasn't even allowed in my presence without panic and flashbacks. I was a little girl then. And I managed to slowly ease the trigger word via gradual exposure - a replacement word, spelling the word, and eventually hearing the word. It - and what it has done to me - will always scar me. But I learned to handle it better in my own time. I dont need lecturing on how triggers work. Especially when each case is unique, each 'cure' is personalised. If you want to believe Im full of shit then... Do that. Im sorry for being a shitty friend at times and Im working on that, but outside opinions (note: these are done in private spaces so all parties are anon) have noted flaw on your end too. We all fucked up. The two things below the belt were the trigger claims (hence my example of my own experiences with another trigger) and my private issues shared in confidant are the two things I remain disgusted by. That doesnt justify my frustrations, dumping or behaviour. And my example is not a pity ploy either. We're separate now, and it's best that way.
Overall, being here, in this community and fandom, has done nothing but shit. Fuelled the worst in me and others (from what ive seen in public fandom spaces). I may do art and other creative endevours on spindle, but otherwise good riddance. Even if the purge is painful.
Another friend. Im in their group too. One to improve some creative skills. Appreciate being let in there, though I'll probably mainly lurk for tips. Thank you for allowing me to do so. Wording is honestly growing harder for me each day. It's helping me start the path of better expression.
Current and future
I word shit less. Not here, as this is long overdue. But trying to sum up more efficiently. Spending more time irl to improve myself and my life. Welcoming friends who we both can hold each other accountable and support. Focusing more on stuff to improve as well as enjoy. The world is so dismal. So I spend time doing other stuff. Im already mopey enough. Sorting things to refine and focus on enjoyments. Gaining skills to help others. Experienced some personal griefs/losses. And Im learning that people arent entitled to everything. Not quite there yet but Im learning. Im often in deep pain, so cant always do what I want to get done in a day.
Most likely, I will discontinue this. Besides others have been doing a brilliant job. Dont absorb yourself. You can control much of what you get exposed to, so what you can control, make it good! Have integrity, work on yourselves. Try not to be a dickhead but acknowledge where you are a dickhead and work on that. Balance is key to a healthy mind, take the good with the not so good. Take the time to simply sit outside and observe. Appreciate life. Similarities and differences. Nothing is perfect. No one is perfect. But have your standards. Learn. Grow.
Im in a lot of pain and have shit to do. Take care. I feel Viv, co, fans will only learn with drastics, haters need to learn empathy (haters as in stalker level folk), old friends Im sorry to hurt and equally feel hurt by. Best we've gone separate ways and moving on. Current friends I appreciate. That one person, please... PLEASE get help. Youre young, man- This shit is going to poison your very core. Make you into something shitty and cruel. And please treat animals with care. Me, still a twat but trying. Embrace truth, compassion and fairness with a firm angle. Or just avoid nasty shit.
Well, cya. Stay well. We're not going to be here forever.

Preach! My OCs romanced both Anders and Solas, and I get it. What's the point of existing in an echo-chamber of validation all the time? I'm curious to read more about what you will come up with, prawn 😙
Ohh dis for my post a couple of days ago. YEASHH
I genuinely am happy that you enjoyed Solas and Anders as the romance for your characters... I generally like it when people see things different from me in these spaces like video games etc. I would discuss and read about your headcannons and perceptions with much excitement (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
Let me share a bit of how I perceive Anders.
In my head, Anders was very creepy and I had a kind of twisted perception of him. I didn't play Awakening at that time so it might change but he felt very entitled and desperate... and if you're a mage Hawke he's even worse towards you :V Plus when he made the comment on Fenris being a dog that should've been sent back to Tevinter I freaked. I know people blame it on bad writing, but it only validated my own perception of him; He's an entitled fuck who hides behind a guise of giving a shit about mages when the reasons for his actions are all only personal. When anger and hatred purely fuels your cause, it's not because of the cause anymore... And it was proven when Justice turned into Vengeance.
NOW, you could agree with me. You could not. I don't mind EITHER WAY.
I had issues in the past when I made my dragon age server, where people, much older than me might I add, were acting like babies when I or others would disagree with them, and ghost them or even straight up attack them. This is why I am so conscious of talking about this, because this is a problem in the community... Where do these people even find the energy, seriously!
So to wrap up, I don't mind when others have a different perception of a fictional telling... so I hope my perceptions don't threaten yours to the point where it becomes personal because it really isn't. (❁´◡`❁)

For anyone who isn’t familiar, this is a scene for my fic on ao3, but I haven’t released this chapter yet. Summary: A horse-thief and a bounty hunter have a tense exchange.
“Guess this is a good time to mention this stable outside the city.” Pointing at the horse, Felix said, “You should take this destrier there, ask for Shadr, sell this horse, and buy a new one. It’s one of [redacted’s] stock, so you should get a good price for it. Don’t take any less.” Chin resting on his knuckles, Felix continued, “The money left should tide us over for a while.” “And what should I tell them, exactly?” Kaidan asked. “Tell them you killed some idiot horse-thief for it.” Felix smiled despite himself. “I’m sure, if Shadr’s still there, he will take your word for it. But someone there might offer you even more, but only if you agree to sell to the Black-Briars.” “So, don’t?” “Yes, don’t do that. Maven can and will strong-arm you out of the horse, or worse….” Kaidan checked the saddle’s fastening, adjusting some of the rough wool saddle blankets. “Wouldn’t it be easier if you just came with me? You seem to know a great deal about it all.”
And Felix did. Shadr would happily buy the destrier from them, no questions asked, give them a horse, and maybe, he would even point Felix to the next merchant caravan heading into Morrowind. Ever since Felix had gotten him out of debt with the Guild, the youth, now a young man, had wanted to repay the kindness, but could he be trusted to not tell anyone that he had seen Felix alive? If word somehow got back to the Guild that he wasn’t dead… Stress jolted through his veins, leaden-hot. Pain in his chest, a hair left of his sternum, flared up. “I…” he managed through the ache. “No, I can’t.”
“Is this another crime thing? Talos help me, if you have another bounty here—”
“No,” Felix repeated breathlessly, feeling for his chest. Did his body somehow remember the wound, even after healing? Had he failed to cough up all the river water, and something foul was growing inside his lungs? He coughed once, to dislodge whatever it was. It didn’t work. “It’s not the jarl’s justice I’m worried about in Riften.”
Beside him, Kaidan was incredulous. “How does a man like you have so many enemies, and stay alive, I wonder?”
“Enemy is a very strong term, given what I am.” Felix held the breath in his chest, then let it out. “That implies we’re on near or equal terms. I’m more like the roach on the wall that no one hopefully notices. Skitter away here, there…”
“Or maybe, you just like to think of yourself as one. Because it’s easier.”
Felix asked, with a sidelong glance, “Would you prefer the alternative?”
“I’m not sure what to make of you,” Kaidan answered candidly. “Much less ‘prefer’.”
The destrier murmured again, raising its head to look behind, to the road behind them.

Colorado trip 2023, part 1 -
While we did NOT get to go to Casa Bonita due to not winning the ticket lottery, we did have tons of amazing food this trip! Pictured are a few courses from Wolf’s Tailor, including birthday dessert (yes, I’m even older now), prawn and bison from Beckon, an ounce of wine from 1898 we sampled for the hell of it, a charcuterie board and filet flight from Guard & Grace, and a rabbit dish from El Five. The Denver skyline picture was taken from the balcony of El Five, and there were also amazing fireworks that night which we had the perfect view of.
We also went to Matsuhisa but I honestly forgot to take pictures because I was so afraid of missing our flight that night, but someday I’ll go back and do the omakase menu. This week was definitely a splurge week, as we also did a spa day in Breckenridge on my birthday, and it was soo worth it. Favorite hands down was Beckon - totally blown away by the experience, as well as the knowledge of the sommelier and other staff. I tried both caviar and wagyu for the first time there, which felt like peak fanciness. Sadly the lighting was dim, so none of my photos from the tasting do the food any justice.

This month marks a year since news broke of the parties in Downing Street. With hindsight, this revelation was to be the fulcrum on which the prospects of the Conservatives, and therefore Labour, turned. What seemed inconceivable 12 months ago is now looking inevitable. Labour is going to win the next general election.
But for a victory so longed for, it feels like one unaccompanied by a sense of hope. Instead, the message from Labour HQ seems reminiscent of a military government that has taken control after an unruly revolution – order must be restored. But at what cost?
The first step on the path to power for the party was to eject the losing left from its ranks. Candidates report being blocked over the most tenuous of transgressions. One candidate was disqualified for liking tweets. There are also other disturbing reports of leaking of party members’ contact details to anointed candidates before others, and leftwing MPs such as Apsana Begum being abandoned by party leadership to face personally motivated deselection campaigns. This engineering of selections isn’t a necessary evil: it is a voluntary one that denies party members and the public their democratic right to vote for a range of candidates. What is emerging is a party that has traded principle for power.
An extension of this purge has been to eradicate anything deemed too “radical” from the party’s policy offerings. The role that Labour has sketched for itself as a grownup party that brings “stability” could not be less suited to the times. Challenging the status quo is what people are in the mood for after the pandemic, the cost of living crisis and the energy crisis. Instead of focusing on investment in a frail public realm, the party is singing the same tune of fiscal prudence as the Tories. It is distancing itself from angry, desperate strikers, just as the nation rises in historic organised objection to the status quo. Labour wants your votes and your funding, but not your dreams, your fears, your appeals for your future. In fact, anything that looks too close to the popular exuberance of solidarity is to be avoided, because that also looks too close to the prospect of change.Labour is not on the picket lines, in spirit or in body, but is addressing business leaders: at an event last week, Keir Starmer refused to commit to repealing the government’s proposed anti-strike laws, making sure the prawn cocktails of the gathered company went down a bit easier.
This aversion to meaningful change looks even more jarring when you compare Labour with its peers in Europe and the US. Joe Biden has moved closer to climate activism and tax justice, as well as higher public spending through the post-Covid economic recovery programme. The German Social Democratic party came to power after calling for a higher minimum wage and higher investment in upgrading public services. Even France is passing ambitious climate laws, banning some short-haul domestic flights. As the space expands for higher public spending, higher taxation and more investment in infrastructure, Labour is busy reassuring the financial services sector that it won’t be “soaked” with higher taxes.
Some of Labour’s retreat, both in outward ambition and internal standards, is the result of trauma inflicted by its defeat in 2019, by a decade’s rule by a Conservative party that seemed impossible to dislodge, and by a rightwing press that has so ruthlessly savaged successive Labour leaders. In order to win, the party has reverted to its safe space: 1997. The result is a limited and anachronistic policy offering, further constrained by the fact that the solutions to the crisis Labour will inherit involve some form of redistribution of power and wealth, nationalisation, stronger regulation, higher taxation and opening up of borders. All things that Labour recoils from in its fear of being painted as ideological.
But that stereotype of Labour was created by its enemies. By deciding that victory is only possible on the terms of its opponents, the party’s aim is to transform itself rather than the country. Starmer is crystallising into a strongman who has taken on this role with relish. He is rewarded for his authoritarianism by members of a media and business establishment happy to see Labour dispense with the romance of hope and change, and instead embrace the terms of their miserable arranged marriage with reality. Vested interests are happy to see Labour accept that, for millions of people, things will still be tough after a Labour win, but that’s the price of a Labour win.
The bloodless calculus of a centrist ruling class is that acceptable collateral damage is the best we can hope for. There will be no passion or pledges, only grownup acceptance of structures we cannot change. “The British people are conservative at heart, you see,” I am told, in the same tone that after 2010 I was told that Arabs are simply not ready for democracy.
The tragedy is that it doesn’t have to be like this. Labour can win on its own terms if it chooses to believe that it is fit for power because it is Labour. There is space for both competence and compassion. There is room to make the case for decent pay for a day’s work, investment in childcare, hospitals and care homes, an innovative education system, dismantling privatised utilities that gouge both employees and customers, human decency towards those, both here and overseas, without a home. These are not radical notions, but basic expectations of an incoming government after 12 years that have vividly demonstrated the jeopardies of frugality.
If victory means that Labour is winnowed down to a shape acceptable to the very rapacious interests it is meant to challenge, is it a victory at all – or a climb on to a winner’s podium built on a staircase of defeats?

Well, I was feeling a bit sort of what will I occupy my brain with today when I looked at the blog of someone who reposted one of my Trek things and now I have to go cast the DS9 version of Clue.
(and by now Dr Bashir would be one nickel short of tree fiddy)
First off you kids on my DS9 lawn need to know that Rene has a comedic history behind him. There's Benson of course but really it's in Police Academy 5 where you know he knows this is a bad movie and he's just going to devour the scenery. And he was an adorable Merlin https://archive.org/details/connecticutyankeek0nn9ol0u9vhs/1.+A+Connecticut+Yankee+in+King+Arthur's+Court.mp4
On a side note Keisha Knight Pulliam in ACYIKAC shows how you can adapt what was originally a story starring a white man in to one starring a little black girl and making it child friendly without fucking it up. She was also in an adaptation of Pollyanna that did the original story justice while making it more meaningful to the target audience.
Point being Rene, even as Odo, would have gone to town as Wadsworth in Clue and y'all have to remember when he left the Broadway production of Big River there was only one other chaos being that could be brought in to replace him-
Yup, it was Brent Spiner.
And while I said Andy's energy is a better fit for Mr Green I'm going to keep him on the short list for Mr(s) Peacock because like with Pepe the King Prawn I'd want to hear him do the scream.
As for other things I'm still writing odds and ends, mostly Smallville right now and I might be able to piece something together, middle of the night thoughts went to different takes on the asylum arc from the middle of season 3. Might take a Smallville break and tidy up my Grease 2 notes.
If I feel the need to do some serious work I not only don't know what all digital books I have it also looks like some of the snaps are on the blurry side and I need to decide if I can live with that or I'll need to redo them.
Still looking for TUA s4 so I can compare its level of dumpster fire to that of Young Blades.

Mental Load
I used to be a person. I used to be fun.
Now I'm just a mum. My identity consumed by the crushing mental load of having to look after and out for two little ones whilst managing a household and also wondering why I don't have more time in the day to look out for myself and indeed enjoy maternity 'leave' given I'm not in full time paid employment.
I recently discovered the term 'mental load', words that finally seem to do justice to the invisible work load.
There’s cognitive labour – which is thinking about all the practical elements of household responsibilities, including organising playdates, shopping and planning activities. Then there’s emotional labour, which is maintaining the family’s emotions; calming things down if the kids are acting up or worrying about how they are managing at school. Third, the mental load is the intersection of the two: preparing, organising and anticipating everything, emotional and practical, that needs to get done to make life flow. This hidden work is hard to measure, because it’s invisible and performed internally, making it difficult to know where it starts and ends.
When you have kids, the mental load increases tenfold. The thinking is all consuming, leaving exhaustion and a struggle to remember who you were, are and can be in the wake.
From the moment of consciousness in the day, the brain is a whirr of thoughts, 99% of which aren't about looking out for No.1.
What shall I cook for lunch? What do I cook for dinner? Must defrost the meat or maybe just have prawns. Must make sure Laelynn eats her vegetables, she was a little constipated. Need to remember to order some tomato paste from Ocado next time. Must remember to give Laelynn her vitamin. Need to apply emollient on Caitlin. Oh and remember those Vitamin D drops. Maybe we can do some baking today or arts and crafts. But she hasn't done her workbook in days. No wonder she can't write the alphabet properly, what if she is behind in class. Need to wash Caitlin's clothes today. And put away the other load. And order a present for Jacob. And Sofia. And other Sophia. And help Laelynn to finish the card. And think of something to bring to Van's. Maybe a housewarming present. Ugh is Laelynn eating too much sugar? House is an absolute mess, but what are the chances we bump into her friend outside our house. F*** it, just invite them in, we did bake cookies this morning. F*** now it is even more of a mess. Plus I have to cook dinner. And hold Caitlin. Why doesn't she sleep in her cot. Is it me? Did I condition her to become like this?? Laelynn refusing to tidy up again, is it me? Did I make lazy kids, she definitely needs more discipline. I want her in bed by 7pm too. Refusing to eat the dinner I made, sounds about right. A nutritious balanced meal just left there on the plate. Here I am again, eating dinner I cooked on my own. Why do I bother. F*** now I'm turning into my mum, naggy and anal about everyone eating dinner whilst it's hot at the table.
Sometimes I feel so alone in this. Do homosexual couples have the same imbalances? It seems optional for the other party. Asking for help from my 4 year old is like inviting tantrums and hearing her irritating responses which are a carbon copy of me (even more to my annoyance), just sometimes for her co operation in dressing her, brushing her teeth, tidying up her toys. Asking my 11 week old to just help me out a little by sleeping a nap or bedtime in her cot is just met with screaming and crying as if I am torturing her.
Who can I turn to?

PRAWNS THAI RED CURRY WITH VEGGIES and CHICKEN BURGER (First Attempt!)
Hey there! I just cooked Prawn Thai Red Curry for the first time, and it turned out to be amazingly delicious! It's packed with flavours, and the spiciness was just perfect - not too overwhelming. My boyfriend loved it too! Also, I made a chicken burger, which tasted great, even though the photo doesn't do it justice.
Although I'm not an expert cook, I managed to pull this off because I'm living by myself now, and I have to cook my own meals. My boyfriend is a huge foodie, and I'm lucky to have him, but I'm not gifted with culinary skills. However, I'm trying my best to learn and improve.
I've been experimenting with a few recipes, but sometimes following cooking videos on YouTube can be tricky. They tend to cut certain scenes, which can result in a not-so-great experience. It's essential to know the correct ingredients and measurements to make a dish taste just as good as it looks.
So, to help ease this adulting, I am glad to discover Hello Fresh --Yes, I am using Hello Fresh every fortnight for one week of dinner meals; this is also good for beginners like me because it will create meals that are easy to follow, PLUS they will only deliver ingredients precisely to your needs! So there's no waste because I also hate wasting food! Every ingredient is exactly the correct measurement to achieve a delicious meal.
Have you ever tried cooking a new dish for the first time and it turned out to be delicious? Do you have any tips on how to make sure that the dish tastes as good as it looks, especially when following cooking videos on YouTube? Have you ever tried Hello Fresh to make cooking easier?
Raine xx

Fast Fashion resources
https://ehjournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12940-018-0433-7
Fast fashion, inexpensive and widely available of-the-moment garments, has changed the way people buy and dispose of clothing. By selling large quantities of clothing at cheap prices, fast fashion has emerged as a dominant business model, causing garment consumption to skyrocket. While this transition is sometimes heralded as the “democratization” of fashion in which the latest styles are available to all classes of consumers, the human and environmental health risks associated with inexpensive clothing are hidden throughout the lifecycle of each garment. From the growth of water-intensive cotton, to the release of untreated dyes into local water sources, to worker’s low wages and poor working conditions; the environmental and social costs involved in textile manufacturing are widespread.
Fast fashion is a term used to describe the readily available, inexpensively made fashion of today. The word “fast” describes how quickly retailers can move designs from the catwalk to stores, keeping pace with constant demand for more and different styles. With the rise of globalization and growth of a global economy, supply chains have become international, shifting the growth of fibers, the manufacturing of textiles, and the construction of garments to areas with cheaper labor. Increased consumption drives the production of inexpensive clothing, and prices are kept down by outsourcing production to low and middle-income countries (LMICs).
https://projectgreenchallenge.com/day-19-fashion/
“Take two very simple actions that we perform every single day: getting dressed and eating. Now start a journey backwards – to where your food and your clothes come from. At the other end, you will rarely find happy people, treated with dignity and respect. Human beings working at the bottom of any supply chain – whether it is strawberry picking, prawn fishing, cotton farming, garment workers – are often treated like slaves, without reference to our common humanity. So “fashion” – i.e. what we wear every single day, has huge relevance and huge consequences on human, social and environmental capital.” ~ Livia Firth, Creative Director of Eco Age, Founder of Green Carpet Challenge, and Executive Producer of The True Cost
The project green challenge works to challenge you to look at your own shopping habits, what brands do you currently buy? Where do you shop? Are you participating in fast fashion? What changes can you make to become a sustainable shopper? I think it is important to acknowledge something before you can fix it, and as soon as we start acknowledging that we may not be making the best purchasing decisions we can each start creating a beneficial change.
https://www.vogue.com/article/sustainable-shopping-remake-no-new-clothes-campaign
The #NoNewClothes Pledge Encourages Brands to Center Their Sustainability Efforts Around Justice and Wellbeing
The idea around the campaign is to encourage followers to replace shopping the latest trends or buying from fast fashion brands with something smarter, whether that means stopping consumption of clothing entirely, using a swap or rental platform, upcycling, or buying vintage and consignment. Remake is asking participants to adhere to the challenge for the next 90 days. “We really think of this as a fashion diet,” Barenblat says. “What our community is saying is that we are going to take this challenge to reset our relationship with our closet, take stock of what we have and do so over the course of the summer.” Virtual mending workshops will be on offer, as well as others involving DIY dyeing and sewing. The organization is also asking its community members to share the looks they’ve been wearing, as well as host discussions around upcycling. “It’s supposed to be something fun for our community to do and not something prescriptive,” Barenblat notes. “The hope is that we will press pause on our purchases so that we can enter into the fall season and we’ll really understand how much we actually need.”

Lou Jitsu Research (ROTTMNT)
Well, I am finally at that step in the fandom cycle.... obsessive researching...
Basically, I am trying to time out Splinter’s acting career, using what 9 movies we know about to plan.
The only 2 dates we know for sure are:
Crouching Shrimp Hidden Tiger Prawn: in 1984
and...
Hot Soup Forever: around 03/30/1998
We also know that Yoshi started dating Big Mama in 1984, around the same time as the Tiger Prawn movie and it was their dating and his eventual proposal of her that got him snatched away to the Battle Nexus.
So I was wondering three things basically:
What was his last Lou Jitsu film?
How long did Splinter and Big Mama date?
How long was he fighting in the Battle Nexus?
...
WHAT WAS HIS LAST FILM?
Based on just looking at the wiki, I am guessing the order of his films go something like:
1 Fish, 2 Fish, Red Fish – Dead Fish
Little Jacob's Ladder
Teriyaki Shakedown
Punch Chowder
Lou Jitsu Meets the Mummy Ninjas
Crouching Shrimp Hidden Tiger Prawn
Bedtime for Bozos
Jitsu for Justice
Hot Soup Forever
While I’m mostly guessing on this order, I put 1 Fish 2 Fish, Jacob’s Ladder, and Teriyaki in the top 3 because of how old the footage looked or if it was imported/ had a dubbed voice over the acting... meaning he could have made one or all of these films while he still lived in Japan.
Also, 1 Fish 2 Fish was the one Splinter wanted to start with in the training marathon, so maybe that means it was one of the very first movies?
Punch Chowder sounds like it could go next, IDK why... just feel like a lot of people know that one, so it was probably one that highlighted his career more?
Then the Mummies because it sounds like a silly cash grab, perfect for his fifth movie. Need to give him plenty of time to go on all those yacht parties with supermodels and such.
The unseen terrible Jupiter Jim Christmas special can be somewhere around here, but that one doesn’t count! 😅
Then the Tiger Prawn one to cement that 1984 date and meeting Big Mama.
And just kind of guessing on the last ones based on how well known they are and how they’re at the DVD rental places, meaning they might be the later movies.
...
HOW LONG DID SPLINTER DATE BIG MAMA?
Ignoring this list completely, and if we go off the dates we ACTUALLY know, 1984-1998... that’s 14 years! Splinter and Big Mama could very well have dated for 14 long years!
I’m wondering now what the public thought of Lou Jitsu’s disappearance and if a story was made up or if it would be just one of those unsolved celebrity mysteries for years to come.
...
HOW LONG WAS HE TRAPPED IN THE BATTLE NEXUS?
Let’s assume Yoshi was 17-18 when he started acting.
In 2018, that would make him 55 years old.
In 1998 (around the time of his last-ish movie), he would have been 35.
Then in 1984, when he started dating Big Mama, he would’ve been 21...
Putting his birthyear somewhere around 1963.
He was kidnapped and mutated in 2005, putting him at around 42 years old, and giving him 7 years of fighting in the Battle Nexus, swearing off fighting, and becoming a pacifist.
...
...
So that’s how far I’ve gotten on this research road. If anyone has any theories or better math skills to offer, I am all ears!
(EDIT: if anyone uses this info to write any fics about Splinter, I wanna read them! 🤩)
EDIT-EDIT: I put this in a reply, but I wanted to add it in officially. Yoshi's “Kamen Rider” action figure was probably made around 1971, so he was (at minimum) 8 years old when his mom left. This is if we're assuming he was born in 63'. I’m not too familiar with Japanese 1970s elementary school uniforms, but I’m running with this assumption until proven otherwise.

@ding-dong-big-schlong here is the very late
_Love Down Under _
Gif by @hqtchner
Warnings: terrible Aussie slang(I’m Irish so I had to research all of this), spicy!hotch, mutual pining, cursing (cussing), typical cm case talk, fluffy, cute, slight ooc Hotch.
(I just skim my stories after I write them, so beware there could be errors)
You had always wanted to work in the justice department, coming from a small town just outside Sydney, Australia. You never had imagined yourself as an an agent in the FBI but here you were.
You had been a part of an overseas programme in the US about behavioural psychology when you were approached about taking an intern position at the BAU. You of course accepted and here you were 6 months later as an official member of the behavioural analysis team.
People were so stereotypical when they found out you were an Aussie even more so when they heard your strong accent. The G’day mate and the “how ya going” jokes were starting to become a bit mundane and over done and you even found yourself playing down your accent and trying not to be so “Australian”
You had just finished up on a serial rapist case in Kentucky and boy when the locals found out you were different they were quick to unload their questions on you. You decided to play up on the stereotype for once.
“So like did you like have kangaroos and koalas in your back yard?“ one officer asked
“Oh yeah totally, almost had them as my pet” you laughed.
“I’d love to see you on a surfboard” another flirted
Oh yeah mate totally I surfed all the time especially in teeny bikinis drinking fosters” you said over playing your accent.
“Put shrimp on the barbie eh?” One officer tried to imitate your accent. You laughed back. Meanwhile you did not realise your boss and the very hunky Aaron Hotchner was watching this whole interaction with a smile on his face.
He couldn’t say he blamed the men, he was quite enamoured with you himself. You were in your late thirties so younger than him but you were like a breath of fresh air. You were the typical Aussie in looks. Tanned Skin, blonde hair and beautiful green eyes that Aaron had to pull himself away from time to time but the more he got to know you the more he realised you were the exact opposite. You were introverted, you loved the cold winters in DC and tried to steer away from beaches as much as possible.
But Aaron could help but feel something for you and he was a profiler a good one at that so he knew that the feeling was mutual. The lingering stares, you checking him out when he thought he wasn’t looking. It lit a fire under him that someone as beautiful as you would be interested in a widowed father in his forties but here you were.
This is why he thought it was rather cute watching you over playing the Aussie stereotype in front of the not so subtle officers in Kentucky.
“Oh yeah mate totally I surfed all the time especially in teeny bikinis drinking fosters”
Now that was something Aaron didn’t need to imagine in a dingy police station full of men.
He seen you walk off and go into one of the meeting rooms. He watched outside before entering and seen you talking to yourself while tidying up case files. He approached the door and watched intently.
“Shrimp on the barbie? We don’t even call them shrimp we call them PRAWNS. And God why do they always think we love to surf! Yeah I’ll surf, surf my fist into your face, cunt. Oh yeah I knew Steve Irwin I knew the sting ray that killed him aswell. MORONS. I swear!” You silently shouted.
“If it helps I always see you as more than just a stereotype” you heard from behind you.
“I’m so sorry Hotch that you had to hear all of that” you said embarrassed.
He closed the door behind him and walked over and took his hands in yours.
“No-one heard you but me, so you’ve nothing to be sorry for plus It must be so frustrating when people don’t see the real you” he smiled at you.
“What’s the real me then, profiler” you said back to him.
“Well you’re introverted, you love being inside reading a book. You love the weather in DC especially in winter. You don’t seem like the type of woman to wear bikinis just for fun and I’ve seen you buy a different variety of cardigans in every city we’ve been in since we’ve started. Oh and you love red wine” he finished.
“Wow, talk about knowing the real me, you know the version of me I don’t show to just anyone” you smiled back
He moved a bit closer to you and you seen his eyes flick down to his lips and his tongue dart out of his mouth over his bottom lip the typical nervous Hotch tell.
“I would love to get to know you even better and prove to you you’re more that just a stereotype” he said trailing a hand down my arm.
You took the initiative and leaned up towards him and you felt his lips graze against yours when suddenly Reid burst through the door.
“The jets almost….ready to go” he said after noticing he potentially compromised a moment between you, no sooner than that he was gone and Hotch had moved back from you.
“I’d like to take you out, I don’t want our first kiss to be in a dingy meeting room in Kentucky as tempting as you are right now” he laughed rubbing his thumb over your lips.
You just stared at him for a moment before saying “okay”
This man had you completely enamoured and you could tell you were in hook line and sinker with him.
“Come on ya Sheila, let’s get on the plane” he mimicked in a terrible terrible Australian accent.
“Who are you and what have you done with Aaron Hotchner” you replied laughing.
“Oh I’ll show you Aaron Hotchner later” he leaned in and whispered in your ear.

Lemon and Prawn Sandwiches
I’m back! Ok, so I know I haven’t finished Carry On nor have I really done justice to Wayward Son as far as recipes go, but I keep finding myself making food from Any Way the Wind Blows. Food plays such a pivotal role in this book and so much of it is related to Baz and Simon eating together, as well as the comfort they both find eating with Lady Ruth. So I decided to give this one a try, as Baz says they’re the best, and Lady Ruth says she makes them with magic. I may not have magic but this recipe ended up being quite good. And quite simple.
“The curry chicken are the best,” I say.
“Wrong again, Snow,” Baz says, “It’s the lemon and prawn.”
“I make those with magic.” Lady Ruth smiles.
“You’d have to,” he says.
“Nothing beats Mum’s egg and cress,” Jamie says. (Simon POV, chapter 89, Any Way the Wind Blows)
(note: I made egg and cress, which seem to be Jamie’s favorites, when I was doing recipes from Carry On. They happen to be a food that made an appearance in both books.)
Lemon and Prawn Sandwiches
Ingredients:
Bread of your choice (I used ciabatta because it looked really good when I was at Trader Joe’s)
1 tbs butter
200g cooked prawns (I bought Trader Joe’s frozen cooked jumbo shrimp)
1 tbs mayonnaise
small bunch of dill
zest of one lemon
1 tsp lemon juice
small handful of cress (I used arugula, as that was what was available)
optional: 1/2 tsp horseradish sauce or a drop of two of sriracha sauce (I used a tiny bit of sriracha and it was great)
Method:
Thaw the prawns/or shrimp as directed on package (or cook and shell and de-vein if you are making your own from fresh)
Mix the mayonnaise with the horseradish or sriracha, whichever you prefer. (You can start with a small amount of either one and adjust to your taste.)
stir the lemon juice into mayonnaise mixture
Stir the prawns into the mayonnaise mixture
Toast the bread (as mentioned I used ciabatta). I cut this into a top and bottom slice before toasting.
Butter the bread (this is a very important step if you are cooking for Simon Snow)
Pile the prawns/or shrimp on the toasted, buttered bread
scatter chopped dill, lemon zest and cress over the prawns.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste
serve
these were quite easy to make and the taste was exceptional. I’m with Baz on this one for now, seeing as I liked these more than the egg and cress. We’ll see how the curry chicken sandwiches compare when I make those.
