Old(er) Hijack Au in which Jack lived his human life during the 1700's and became a spirit at his late forties or early fifties. His previous memories remain intact. Three hundred and a half years later, Jack, self appointed old homeless (human) person, meets Hiccup, national park ranger (and self appointed hermit). Keep reading below.
Jack has been developing his powers for some time now. Since the way in which he became a spirit didn't permanently stunt his growth and emotional stability forever at the tender and hormonal age of 18, Jack became able to control his powers way sooner and better. It didn't take long for him to become a guardian this time around, so he's had the reigns of things for a while now. -The Guardian's belief system works different for Jack. He's a seasonal spirit. He's Winter incarnate. People not only believe in winter, but know it true. So, he gets the bonus of being able to be seen by the overal populace, only lightly. Like passing by a stranger in the street and forgetting two seconds after, people can see Jack, but not quite. Perfect for pranks. -As Jack's powers developed, his staff (yes, he still has his staff. its part of his personality) also did. It grew a little more than in canon. A little wilder. -Unfortunately for Jack, he's made a name for himself in the spirit world. Worse: a good one. He's busy with winter and Guardian duties all year long. So occasionally, he'll sneak out, dress up like no one's business, and launge around, pulling tricks for shits and giggles. -"What do you mean OLD man winter? Im not old, what do you mean old. No, being 300 yrs doesn't count." -Jack is a regular at a cafeteria that's mostly empty during sundays. The lady owner at the counter feels like she's known him for years but never seems able to remember since when. For some reason, she know's the man's order by heart, but only when she sees him enter the shop. She thinks he's fun and mischivious and joyful, but also has sad eyes. -Jack knows her since she's ten. -Hiccup met Jack because Jack had fallen asleep on a bench. Jack, for reference, doesn't breathe. Hiccup nearly had a heart attack, called the ambulance because some guy had died in middle of the park, until said guy woke up and Hiccup nearly had a second.

A Quick Full Guide for getting Gold in
Lowland Shore: Harvest Shore Salmon Run!
~~~
Update! So it's been brought to our attention that the race event, has a significantly longer timer to achieve gold than the adventure does, assuming you show up right before the race starts.
It's possible this is a bug, so it might be patched out in the coming future. It's also possible that Anet will change the gold requirements to be less strict (we've never heard of this happening before, but who knows.)
Either way, at the time of editing this (September 7th 2024) the below guide still applies for the adventure!
Further update: The latest GW2 update actually added extra time to qualify for Gold, so you may not need all the expensive gear to achieve it. If you're still struggling, pre-booning will still offer a decent headstart, even if some class traits might not work in fish form.
Best of luck out there, fellow salmon! 🐟
Before even starting the race, you'll need the right stuff to have a chance of succeeding.
Equipment:
Get at least 1 or 2 of Bowl of Orrian Truffle and Meat Stew
Equip 6 Superior Runes of Speed
Equip a Relic of Speed
Build:
There are several things you'll want on your build to make your life as painless as possible.
Adrenaline Regeneration
Vigor Source
Movement Speed Increase
Pre-Race Boons
The main boons you want to give yourself are Swiftness, Vigor, Quickness/Alacrity, and Superspeed. Other boons may or may not be necessary depending on your class.
As you may have noticed, this is all stuff available on an Engineer (Mechanist with Tools and Alchemy trait lines). Because that's the class we decided to first try this race on.
Thankfully we're feeling generous, so here are the best builds for all other 8 classes. Usually there's only a few critical things you need in each case, so if something isn't specified, just pick whatever.
Mesmer:
Dueling > Mental Gymnastics Chronomancer > Time Marches On Signet of Inspiration, Well of Action, Time Warp Focus (Temporal Curtain)
Elementalist:
Water > Soothing Disruption Air > Zephyr's Speed > One With Air Weaver > Woven Stride Ether Renewal, Unravel (Water), Cleansing Fire, Signet of Air Staff (Air > Windborne Speed)
Necromancer:
Blood Magic > Banshee's Wail Soul Reaping > Speed of Shadows > Eternal Life Harbinger > Twisted Medicine > Deathly Haste Spectral Recall, Signet of the Locust, Elixir of Anguish Warhorn (Locust Swarm)
Revenant:
Retribution > Enduring Recovery > Unwavering Avoidance Invocation > Rapid Flow Herald > Core Value > Draconic Echo Legendary Dragon Stance (activate and consume all skills, starting with Facet of Chaos)
Guardian:
Honor > Vigorous Precision > Purity of Body Virtues > Absolute Resolve > Power of the Virtuous Firebrand > Archivist of Whispers > Swift Scholar > Stalwart Speed > Loremaster Mantra of Potence, Advance!, Signet of Mercy, Feel My Wrath! Tome of Resolve (Chapter 3)
Warrior:
Defence > Last Stand Discipline > Warrior's Sprint > Doubled Standards Bladesworn > Swift As the Wind Combat Stimulant, Signet of Stamina, Banner of Tactics, Frenzy, Signet of Rage Warhorn
Ranger:
Wilderness Survival > Natural Vigor Skirmishing > Tail Wind > Primal Reflexes Soulbeast > Live Fast > Essence of Speed > Leader of the Pack Water Spirit, Signet of the Hunt, Quickening Zephyr, Griffon Stance, Strength of the Pact! Warhorn (Call of the Wild)
Thief:
Acrobatics > Expeditious Dodger > Feline Grace Daredevil > Physical Supremacy > Unhindered Combatant Haste, Signet of Shadows
(Thief is weirdly low on options it seems)
Okay and of course Engineer was already covered earlier
Race:
So you've got your gear, your build, and now onto the race itself. First off, here's what you need to know about your skills that aren't obvious at a glance.
Dash!
This skill works noticeably differently depending on where you're located. When you're in deep water, the skill works just fine. On land, it's similar enough to not worth mentioning. But if you're on the water's surface, to the point that your skills aren't listed, for the love of every god don't use the dash! You will get no benefit except wasting your stamina.
If you don't see your skills just don't press 'em!
Flop!
Flop is the most versatile skill at your disposal, and has drastically different effects for different situations. If you're in deep water, then using flop will yeet you to the water's surface. This can be handy for needing to get up to checkpoints in shallower water quickly. If you're already at the water's surface, then you'll go straight up... usually. This race is a bit finicky at times. If you're on flat land, you'll also go straight up. Thankfully it's pretty consistent. However if you're on an upwards slope, or close enough to one, then you will go up it at record speed.
A prime flop location
Glub
Glub :3
Now go out there and get glubbin'!
queenship under siege and there's a WHAT in this mountain?! (LotR)
[re: badly described WIPs fics I almost certainly will never actually write - in the lead with 17.5% of the vote as of midnight 3/3/24]
I know I’ve said this before, because I do love it so, but:
The only reason, the ONLY reason, I would ever want the Arkenstone to be a Silmaril is this: the day after Aragorn leaves Rivendell with the Fellowship, Elrond summons Arwen to his study and bids her to go to Erebor.
"What?" she demands. "Surely I am needed here, or out in the wilds, marshaling the Rangers - "
"Your brothers will manage that, after they escort you," her father insists. "You must go to Erebor, and ask Dain to let you open Thorin's tomb, that you may look upon the Arkenstone. Gloin will help you - I spoke with him ere he left. Don't let anyone else know your purpose - as far as the world is concerned, I am sending my only daughter to a safe stronghold until Mordor is defeated."
"Are you not?" she cries. But he will explain no more than, "I think the jewel may be important to our oncoming war, but I wish you to assess it unbiased" - and he gives her two letters to read only once she's made her own judgement of the jewel.
So Arwen goes. The Misty Mountains are crawling with orcs, but in cloaks woven by their grandmother, she and her brothers slip through with only a few close calls. Elrohir and Elladan don't know why she's going even a little, save that their father bade it and (he said) their grandmother supported it. The problem with having Elrond for a father and Galadriel for a grandmother is that, while technically they may each be wrong at times (allegedly), in agreement they never are.
It's nice to have what may be one last journey with her brothers, at least. All three of them know that Elladan and Elrohir will soon be in battle alongside their cousins the Dúnedain, and for all Erebor's strength, it will soon be under attack. Rivendell might soon be under attack. Lothlórien might soon be under attack.
The twins leave almost as soon as the three of them arrive; they have other work to do. Dain barely protests letting Arwen mildly exhume his cousin in order to assess the famous jewel - he doesn't quite like letting an elf(ish person) near the Heart of the Mountain, but he is very worried about the black-armored army lurking across the River Carnen, and respects the wisdom of Elrond and his immediate kin.
Arwen sees the Arkenstone sitting calmly in the hands of of the fallen king, and she sees it clutched in the burning hand of a no-longer-king, fallen free from a twisted iron crown, stolen over a king's bloody body, hallowed by a Queen, forged in a fire like the world never saw again... It glows softly; its light matches that of the small crystal that hangs around her neck now, one of a set of three.
[Here me out: Galadriel made three: one for Celebrian and Elrond as a wedding gift, jointly from herself and Eärendil; one for thw twins upon their birth, and one for Arwen upon hers. Celebrian left hers behind when she Sailed; Galadriel gives it to Frodo.]
The letters are from Elrond and Galadriel, respectively. They say much the same thing:
I'm so sorry to spring this on you, and to make you a guardian of this secret
If the Ringbearer's quest fails and the Enemy regains his full power, please take the jewel (as freely giving by the dwarves if at all possible) and use it however you can to save everyone and everything that you can. (Elrond's says, "My parents will help as much as they can. Do not hesitate to ask for their or any other aid." Galadriel's says, "If you seek Undying Shores with mortals in tow, for succor or for more active aid, hold the Jewel high and beseech first Ulmo and his spirits, and then every single kin-relation you have, no matter the connection. Once you rouse the general populace, then approach the Valar - though don't appear to delay.)
Galadriel's says, "Círdan knows to potentially expect you." Elrond wrote, "If you see your mother before I do", stopped there and blotted it out.
Neither of them needs to say, We will hold the line, to buy you as much time as we can. Both say "I love you", "I'm sorry", and variations on, "I know you can do this."
Arwen made the Choice of Elros several decades ago: to live among Men as a Man, to take up queenship of a people at the start of a new Age of the World and rule until most of those she loved most had passed and it was time to follow as a Man. Now she faces the Choice of Elwing: to leave most of those she loved the most for dead and flee with Silmaril in hand and only the hope of the impossible to save a doomed continent.
(Or, if she was optimistic, the Choice of Lúthien: to face down the Lord of Death and demand back one single most beloved [for Aragorn could not live while Sauron triumphed], and steal him away for many peaceful decades ere doom fell entirely, their own best efforts done. But Lúthien had been, in her glorious way, very selfish, and Arwen was not.)
The reason I haven't started writing this fic and probably never will is that I have a perfect sense of what I believe kids call the vibes - the mood, the tone, themes, the visual and emotional aesthetic - and none of actual, like, events of the story.
It's about Arwen's final trial of leadership and diplomacy, before she (hopefully) takes up a throne of Gondor, being living with Dwarves for three months under threat and then fact of war. Helping in the infirmary. Participating in strategy discussions, because war isn't her area of expertise but she has participated a few times, in her nearly 3,000 years of life. Mediating as a neutral party on inevitable conflicts between Dwarves the Men, especially in the last week and a half when they're under high stress while besieged together with two kings dead in the field.
Carrying a torch in the deep corridors of the Mountain because she's Mannish enough not to see naturally in the dark. Standing extra watches because she's Elvish enough to see well in starlight, especially if the Star in question is her grandfather; and getting scouting reports from the local thrushes, because they're talkative and Melian's heirs have always had a knack for the speech of birds.
Busying herself with sewing a banner for Aragorn, with jewel-stars and a crown of mithril and gold - for her elders have appointed her as their last hope, and she shall hold it for them and for all the people she can save if in the end she must; but her Estel fights in the field. The night the armies of Mordor cross the river to strike at Dale, she stands on the summit of the Lonely Mountain and calls a friend among the Eagles, who takes the finished banner in her talons and bears it south to where Arwen's brothers and cousins ride to Aragorn's side.
(She shares dreams with him sometimes - but she must keep secret a thought that beats in her like a heartbeat, and he must devote all his thought to the quest and the war. So they don't speak much.)
It's about the crushing weight of history and legacy and the very practical matters of running a kingdom in duress. It's about multicultural exchange. It's about love and hope and a hundred different OCs, most of whom will never be recorded in history books even if they die heroically or steal siege-stores to sell on the black market, or simply live and thus deserve to do so. It's about hard work and mortality.
It's about how 77 years after the Battle of Five Armies, Dain II Ironfoot swings his axe until he falls defending the body of Brand King of Dale, son of Baird son of Bard the Dragonslayer, and their people all take refuge in the Mountain together; and Arwen tends the wounded with the Songs she learned from her father and the neat stitches her mother taught her for first cloth, then skin; and she walks among the frightened people - none of them remotely her people; Dwarves and entirely common Men, mostly descended from easterners migrating slowly west - and knows that if these are all she can save, she will gladly die or live as she must in order to do so; and the people hearken a little to see her pass by with starlight in her eyes and on her breast.
And then - after an eternity of painful anticipation, after what feels like no time at all - the Shadow passes, and the wait and tension abruptly lift.
They very much do still have to go defeat that army before the gates, though.
I love your answer to the question I asked. My answer would have been Whitney Houston. She is either a siren or banshee. I would have paired her with Garrett or Charlie cannot decide who.
Twilight Request
Jasper/ Major x Female Reader
The reader has powers like Naruto Uzumaki but her nine tailed beast is a wolf that is white as snow. She has long black hair down to her hips when not put up. She knows many forms of martial arts and several languages and owns several katanas. She stands at 5 ft 11 inches. She likes reading mystery novels like Nancy Drew. ✭ twilight masterlist 2
The moon hung low in the midnight sky, casting a silvery glow over the quiet forest. (Y/N), a striking young woman with long, flowing black hair that cascaded down to her hips, stood alone among the trees. At 5 feet 11 inches, she possessed an aura of strength and mystery that drew the eye. But it was her unique gift that truly set her apart—the nine-tailed wolf, as white as freshly fallen snow, that loyally accompanied her.
She had been living a solitary life for as long as she could remember, ever since her powers had manifested. Her childhood had been a blur of confusion and fear, as she tried to comprehend the extraordinary abilities coursing through her veins. The snowy wolf, her constant companion, was her only solace in those early days of isolation.
Throughout history, she had been known as the "snowbound savior." Legends and tales had spoken of a white wolf with nine tails that appeared when one was in dire need of help. Villagers would tell stories around campfires, passing down the folklore of this mystical guardian who emerged from the depths of the forest to aid those in their darkest hours.
But (Y/N) knew the truth. She wasn't just a legend; she was real, and she carried the weight of her unique destiny on her shoulders. Her existence was a secret known only to a select few, those who had witnessed her powers firsthand or had heard whispers of the mysterious white wolf.
Tonight, beneath the silver canopy of stars, (Y/N) felt a strange restlessness in her spirit. It was as though the air itself carried an unspoken message—a call for help that only she could answer. The bond between her and the nine-tailed wolf seemed to hum with anticipation.
With a determined look in her eyes, (Y/N) turned and headed deeper into the forest, her faithful companion padding silently at her side. She didn't know where the call for help originated, but she trusted her instincts. The "snowbound savior" was on the move once again, ready to face whatever darkness lurked in the shadows and to offer her unique gifts to those in need.
The dense forest welcomed (Y/N) as she ventured deeper into its heart. Here, she felt at one with the world around her, a connection that ran deeper than blood. She wasn't just a woman with extraordinary abilities; she was a guardian of nature itself.
As she moved through the ancient trees, (Y/N) could hear the soft murmurs of leaves, the whispers of the wind, and the gentle rustling of creatures hidden in the underbrush. Nature spoke to her in a language few could comprehend, and in return, she listened and responded with reverence.
Today, however, the whispers were tinged with urgency. The very earth beneath her feet seemed to vibrate with concern. (Y/N) paused, her senses on high alert, and closed her eyes to better attune herself to the natural world.
"What troubles you, dear friend?" she murmured softly, her voice a melodious harmony with the forest's song.
In response, the wind carried a somber message, leaves rustled in distress, and the faint echo of a distant waterfall sounded mournful. Nature was trying to communicate something of great significance.
The revelation came like a thunderclap in her mind—a coven of vampires was in danger, and their fate was intricately entwined with the lives of the humans in the town they resided in, as well as a nearby clan of wolf-shifters. The balance of their existence hung in the balance, and the very fabric of the supernatural world trembled with uncertainty.
(Y/N) felt a surge of conflicting emotions. She had distanced herself from the supernatural world, seeking solitude and anonymity after years of bearing the mantle of the "snowbound savior." Her past involvements had left scars both physical and emotional, and she yearned for a simpler existence.
Yet, as she stood among the ancient trees, a profound sense of responsibility washed over her. She had a duty to protect not just the coven of vampires but also the humans and wolf-shifters who unknowingly depended on their presence.
With a heavy heart, (Y/N) raised her eyes to the heavens, her voice resonating with unwavering determination. "Nature, you have my word. I will do all that I can to help. For the sake of balance, for the sake of those in need, I will step once more into the world of the supernatural."
The forest around her seemed to sigh in relief, a symphony of gratitude and understanding. The bond between (Y/N) and nature deepened, and she knew that her path was now clear. The snowbound savior had been called to action once more, and she would honor her commitment to protect and preserve the fragile balance of the supernatural world.
The clearing deep within the forest was a training ground for the local wolf-pack, and tensions were running high as the group practiced their coordinated maneuvers. Alice, the perceptive and clairvoyant member of the Cullen family, watched their movements closely, her golden eyes scanning the scene with an intensity that never wavered.
Amidst the flurry of leaping and lunging wolves, Alice suddenly froze, her gaze distant as if seeing something beyond the immediate present. Her eyes glazed over, and her hand moved with precision as she sketched something onto a piece of paper with a swift hand.
Jasper, who had been sparring with some of the wolves, noticed Alice's sudden stillness and approached her with a concerned expression. "Alice, what is it? What did you see?"
Alice didn't respond immediately, her focus locked onto the sketch she was creating. It was an image of a white wolf with nine tails, each one flowing gracefully behind it. The creature's ethereal beauty was captured in intricate detail.
Edward, always attuned to Alice's visions, joined them, his brows furrowing in curiosity. "Alice, what's going on? What did you see?"
Alice looked up from her sketch, her eyes wide with a mixture of wonder and uncertainty. "I saw something, someone, I'm not entirely sure," she admitted. "But they're coming to aid us."
Edward's expression shifted from concern to relief. "Good. We can use all the help we can get."
Paul, who had been listening in, couldn't hide his skepticism. "More vampires?" he grumbled.
Alice shook her head, her eyes fixed on her drawing. "Actually, it looks to be a shifter like you all."
Confusion rippled through the group until Alice displayed her sketch for them to see. The wolves gathered around, their eyes widening in disbelief.
Sam, the pack's alpha, gasped as he recognized the image. "The snowbound savior," he breathed, his voice filled with astonishment. "But she's just a legend."
Before anyone could respond, a powerful howl pierced the air, resonating through the forest. It was a howl that carried an undeniable presence, one that demanded attention and respect.
Jasper turned his head toward the sound, his eyes narrowing as he listened. "Guess not," he murmured, his voice tinged with intrigue and a touch of apprehension.
As the echoes of the howl faded into the distance, the wolves and the Cullens exchanged uncertain glances. The arrival of the snowbound savior, a figure of myth and legend, had suddenly become a tangible reality. The balance of power in the supernatural world was about to shift, and none of them knew exactly what to expect.
The ground beneath their feet trembled violently, and at first, the Cullens, along with Sam's pack, believed it to be a catastrophic earthquake. Trees swayed, and the very earth seemed to roar with anger. But what followed was beyond anything they could have imagined.
From out of nowhere, a colossal figure emerged, towering over the treetops, and causing everyone to gasp in astonishment. An 836-foot white wolf, with nine magnificent tails that swirled like a majestic blizzard, stood before them. The sheer size and beauty of the creature left them breathless, their hearts pounding with a mixture of awe and trepidation.
For a moment, the forest fell into a hushed stillness, as if nature itself held its breath in the presence of this enigmatic being. Then, as if guided by an unseen force, the colossal wolf began to shift, its form flowing like liquid moonlight.
In mere seconds, the towering wolf transformed into a striking woman, fully clothed and with long black hair that cascaded down to her hips. Her piercing eyes, as ancient as the earth itself, regarded the assembly with a mixture of wisdom and curiosity.
"I suppose you must all be the ones of whom nature speaks," she remarked, her voice carrying a melodious quality that resonated with power.
Carlisle, always the composed and gracious host, stepped forward. "I beg your pardon, but who are you?"
The woman offered a warm smile, one that seemed to hold the secrets of the universe. "I am (Y/N)," she introduced herself. "Nature has warned me of impending danger to this town and the nearby clan of wolf-shifters. It seems our paths were destined to intersect."
Edward, ever the communicator of the family, stepped forward to explain their situation. "A vampire named Victoria is planning an attack with a newborn army. They seek revenge because we killed her mate some time ago."
(Y/N) nodded with understanding, her gaze distant for a moment. "I sympathize with her loss, but I will not allow her to bring death into this town."
As the conversation unfolded, Jasper, who had been watching (Y/N) intently, felt a sensation he hadn't experienced in centuries. It was the undeniable pull of the mate bond, a force that tied him to this extraordinary woman. His gaze remained locked on her, and his heart raced with a newfound intensity. In that moment, he knew that (Y/N) was not only the snowbound savior but also the missing piece of his own existence.
A single design problem I have for each D&D 5e class
Made this a thread over on bluesky and figured might as well bring it over here. Not really big problems in most cases, but just, small things that I feel WotC should tweak in all current 5e classes.
Artificer: No clear weakness.
A single class that can make great a great support character, DPS character, tank, single target attacker, stealth character, etc
Obviously needs to be built spesifically for each of these, but every other class has at least one thing they can't do.
Barbarian: No force resistance
Slightly cheating because it's not inherently a problem with Barbarian, but recently more monsters have been using Force damage instead of B/P/S, and barbarians should absolutely gain resistance to it while raging at higher levels.
Bard: Full-casting
Bards are designed to be a jack of all trades, it's right there at 2nd level, but they seem to have missed the 'master of none' bit.
Full spellcasting up to 9th level, a pretty solid spell list, and spells they don't have they can take with Magical Secrets anyway, even 9th level ones.
Cleric: Turn Undead
A holdover from older editions, turn undead in my opinion just doesn't make for a good universal option on clerics.
I'd much prefer something like spirit guardians or spiritual weapon be reworked into their universal channel divinity.
Druid: Universal Wildshape
Probably controversial, but I have similar problems with wildshape that I do turn undead, it's good, but a weird universal option.
If I'm a druid getting my powers from stones, plants, or the stars, why can I also turn into a ferret? There should be a few options to pick from instead.
Fighter: Action Surge at Level 2
Action surge is such a good feature, usually it's just some extra attacks, but the fact you have the chioce is great....
That said, I think it coming online so early incentivises unintentionally incentivises multiclassing, casters dipping for 2 spells a turn mostly. They've somewhat fixed it by limiting what actions you can use it for in OneD&D, but I personally just feel it should be later level rather than limiting it.
Monk: Ki Dependancy
This doesnt' need explaining, everything for monks costs ki and it really doesn't need to, they should get resource free disengage and dash, or have ki recover faster.
I had an idea for a ki recharge of 1 min, but less points overall, so you have all points for every fight
Paladin: Oaths at 3rd level
You get your power as a paladin from a sacred oath you swear, so why do you only choose that oath at 3rd level?
That's like a warlock only deciding their patron at 3rd, or a cleric only deciding their god at 3rd (Yes 1D&D does this and I hate it).
Ranger: Spells Known
Why do rangers, the class that's meant to be about being the best prepared for the wilderness and natural areas not have prepared spells?
It just seems so obvious to me, and I've got no idea why it's not done like that already?!
Rogue: Is Pretty Good
If anything I'd say that I'm not a fan of skill floors like reliable talent, and expertise not letting you use it on other tools is a bit strange, maybe the large subclass level gap?
Yeah overall I'm a fan of rogues though, they're just solidly made.
Sorcerer: Spells Known
They tried to fix this in Tasha's with subclass spell lists, and I think that's good idea generally, but letting them swap them for (admittedly limited) options from 3 different spell lists is also weird
Just give them subclass spells they can't swap, or maybe can swap fron one list and you're good.
Warlock: EB is a Cantrip
Eldritch Blast is a good spell. Too good to be honest with multiclassing at least, it's one of the reasons PalLock is such a good combo.
EB should scale with Warlock level so be a feature not a cantrip, or cantrip scaling with warlock level like it was in that One D&D UA that they then reverted.
Wizard: Subclass Theming
Tying wizard subclasses to schools was a bad idea, and what we've gotten outside the PHB seems to be an attempt to go back on that.
It also means they don't have room to explore all of each school, I'd love a teleport or summon focused wizard but school of conjuration smashes them together weirdly
Jungle Fury Random Headcanons and Ideas
@skyland2703 @augment-techs @mo-ok @junglefurytrash went a bit crazy with this one
-Casey is the youngest of five siblings, and is the only boy in the family. He knows how to do makeup and hair.
-Due to his upbringing everyone in the house expected him to be gay, he was kind of dreading having to tell his mother and sisters but they were pretty chill about it.
-His sisters are either quintuplets or triplets and two adopted sisters depending on what you want to go with.
-Despite being the blue ranger Theo didn't develop his animal spirit until after Luen gained his. His parents seem to expect more from him as they were students in a sub school associated with the Pai Zhua.
-Theo's won a Guinness World Record award for karaoke, he claims it's in his blood to be amazing at it.
-Lily grew up within a small apartment in the city, she enjoys all the different foods that a place has to offer. Anything that's new and changing, reminds her of home.
-There's a chance that she trained with Zack and had him as a partner as she did mentioned how she used to do competitive dance competitions.
-RJ's mother passed away when he was young and he kind of blames himself for it. Despite trying to make their relationship better Finn may have blamed him all those years ago for Mrs. James's passing, just a constant reminder of her not being here.
-RJ is amongst one of the only individuals(Like Antonio) to discover the Morphin Grid on his own and is the reason the Pai Zhua has it as access.
-Sometimes just to spite Finn RJ catches fish and attaches them around the shark master's house. That way his air conditioning can smell terrible.
-Dominic flunked out of college, he was studying to become a teacher in geography.
-Casey seems more ticked off with Dominic because of the idea that he might try to go for Jarrod or RJ.
-Jarrod enjoys being around animals as his parents weren’t really around, his mother didn’t really enjoy the prospect of having a boy and his dad would either yell all the time or get pissed off about farm work not doing well so Jarrod cuddling up with a fluffy sheep or even summoning his black lion spirit to sleep next to it’s mane would soothe him.
-Despite all the troubles within the school Master Mao kinda sees Jarrod as his own son(Any of you kingdom hearts fans, cough cough Eraqus and Terra).
-Camille’s hatred of snakes was due to her mother being killed by Naja 10,000 years ago, she’s unaware of this fact but disposing of the snake rinshi felt right when it happened in the show.
-Her eyeshadow is actually a trait of her animal spirits. Animal spirits have way more depth to them as they are the shadow of one’s self, in some cases specific traits about said spirit leak into the person like physical to mental details (example: Camille’s eyeshadow, RJ’s ferocity from his wolf spirit.)
-megazords formed by animal spirits were based on specific influences centuries ago, from totems, giant sculptures like sphinx and even Animus. Some can claim that the guardians of the Pai Zhua were the first people to create earthly megazords within human history.
-mystical beasts or fictional animal like creatures such as the phoenix, azure dragon etc are somewhat rare due to a very small percent of people born with one or those entities giving access to said person. Such as the Phantom Beasts who are based on specific creatures. If Nick or Chip were to come to Pai Zhua and develop a phoenix and Garuda spirit then they’d be a powerful force.
-rinzen and zocalo energy isn’t inherently bad energy but the power is mainly associated with rinshi, the rangers have the potential to access it and even gain phantom beast modes similar to Jarrod and Camille.
-Fran’s animal spirit can range either from a black cat, owl or monkey and gives her abilities based on inner luck or focus making her quite powerful.
-Lily basically adopted Casey as her own little brother.
-Secretly Jarrod wants to pursue cooking or something based in creativity. He didn't touch a kitchen utensil for weeks after seeing kitchen nightmares and it took RJ having to throw the tapes out to get him back into cooking.
-Master Swoop can actually split himself into bat's and has the little shadows spying around the world for any threats. Its kind of creepy but very effective as he can easily have the bat's acting as kamikaze strikers to defeat monsters. Rangers on other teams don't know how threats get taken down but they don't mind, less work load.
-the Pai Zhua has more schools within the world that differentiate in some fighting styles and such. Some schools like the ninja academies try to pick up on their skills but a few of the campuses keep secret.
-Zordon tried to learn about the teachings thousands of years ago as their abilities mixing with the grid gave way for a spike in power with combat but they shunned the wizard away cause of being weary about his motives. Ninjor was welcomed in open arms via the power coins he had. This also explains why Jungle Fury was so scarce with the other teams up until megaforce.
-despite everything the Pai Zhua is nowhere near as moral as they tried to portray themsleves as. Some people can be very toxic in a few areas, Dai Shi had possessed people in the past and with each attempt they tried to have the individuals go mad and die from the experience as a way to rid themselves of the dragon. Casey and the rangers dismantled this ideology after killing the Dai Shi.
-because of her potential the academy sent scouts to try and push Fran to join the academy but RJ quickly shut that down and actually threatened a few of the higher officials because of this.
-Animal spirits talk amongst themselves when the team isn't around. Some play poker when everyone's asleep.
-because of being spirit and mythical based the JF team can handle most of the recurring threats of Zedd and Rita. Plus with their megazords not being mechanical they aren't easily disposed of.
-RJ secretly made JKP into a megazord incase there's an emergency, he met Antonio and added a shitload of symbol power and animal spirit energy to make it a powerful force.
-Lily loves a lot of 80s-90s music and loves to dress in a semi style of Y2K.
-Having no knowledge of Pokemon, Camille and Casey were sat down by Theo and Fran until they were introduced to Gen 4. Camille hacked her Platinum cartridge to get all the mythical and legendary mon events.
-RJ smokes blunts mainly to calm himself, it started as a way to escape the thought of his mother being goin and his father's disapproval.
-Tommy and Jason aren't allowed in Ocean Bluff when it comes to ranger activity because RJ's access to the grid could be useful but he likes to gatekeep and personally team wise if anything happens both him and the group wouldn't enjoy veteran rangers from the first modern team(unless it's billy) coming in and taking over operations.
-Camile and Jarrod jump monsters whenever a mission happens, forget talking, get the job done when needed.
-Casey was fired from the zoo for sleeping in the tiger cage and released all the animals into nice reservations after he was let go.
-Lily was made team leader as Casey doesn't feel too well with getting the role just for being a red ranger.
-Theo is a master at coming up with combo attacks and megazord concepts to the point that rangers like Chip and Max come to him for guidance. He's got quite the reputation in the ranger community for his witty ideas.
-Casey is on a red ranger watch list due to his sword skills, despite keeping their word Jason may have came to the city to demand some aid with their grid research and the two got into a brawl with Casey winning. Him, Jayden and Lauren are all at the top five of said list.
-RJ has dated lots of people but it usually never ends on a perfect note as they were usually relationships with people who took emotional advantage over him. Though he's in a better place within his life to try again with Casey or anyone who actually values him.
-Jarrod listens to a lot of punk music and back at the school Mao got complaints about speakers Blaring music at two in the morning.
-Cam hangs with RJ and shares ideas but he isn't allowed to tell Tommy about any of their conversations. The two may have had a thing in the past.
-Wolf rangers tend to have a powerful aura and they each meet together to talk about business, RJ has a bone themed secret landline he uses to contact them.( @sentinelofstories wolf war 👀😭)
-Due to Dai Shi the JF teams has a disdain for dragons, Serpentera count your days if you ever come back.
-Camille's rinshi form is just armor but was never accepted fully as a rinshi, she only became one to seem worthy in Dai Shi's eyes. The phantom beast hated her for many things and this was one of the reasons, thousands of years ago she murdered three previous members for nearly trying to assassinate her.
-Princess Shayla and the Wild Force rangers are on good terms with the JF team. Merrick follows RJ around like a lost puppy, Taylor spites Theo for being short, Lily tried to get Danny out of his shell. Max tries to explain modern day concepts to Camille, Alyssa and Dominic do small talk and Cole is given death glares from RJ or Jarrod because Casey has caught eyes for him.
-Casey is Gay, Lily is Bi, Theo is a straight ally, Camille and Jarrod are angry bisexuals, RJ is pan, Fran and Dom are unsure of what they are.
-It is unknown if dinosaurs can become animal spirits but Eric actively seeks out Casey to test this theory.
-Casey's favorite red ranger is TJ.
-The team watches movies each Thursday, Everyone except Lily can't handle watching Final Destination.
-it took some time but Jungle Fury had their crossover with RPM and its safe to say things were chaotic. Dillon and Jarrod pretty much had a staring contest with each other, RJ and Flynn got high for the most part, Scott kept crying tears of joy when Casey took him to see their world since it isn't destroyed, Theo wanted to throw himself out the window from hanging with Ziggy, Summer took Lily shopping and Camille was this close to murdering the twins but actually found herself warming up to them, she even went on a date with Gemma.
-Billy is on thin ice for trying to bring Zordon back and while RJ likes the dude he'd prefer that the giant head wouldn’t butt in on all of their affairs.
Hey hey hey! What’s Ikoni like?
- @bb-baker
Apologies for taking a bit of time with this, I ended up having a lot to think about myself. Especially in relations to your own potential experiences at Blueberry Academy.
One of the first things that I think people will see is that Ikoni has become, in many ways, a home for a great many cultures. Over the past century or so we've seen a large influx of immigrants from regions like Kanto, Johto, Unova, Alola, Galar, and so on. So there's a lot of different cultural ideas wrapped up in the identity of someone born and raised here. My own home town, Hestia, was first built by immigrants all the way from Kalos and you can still see that in our older buildings.
Underlying all of that is a culture of openness and harmony with the world that was the foundation of the Native peoples who have lived here for thousands of years. With a lot of it centering around our own region's local guardian, Manafyfe, who is still considered the symbol of our home. Many legends and myths center on how she guided the ancient people to settle this land, taught them how to prosper and grow with the pokemon in our region. Most of all she is credited to guiding those native people and refugees fleeing war and famine to find a way for us all to live together in peace. A peace that led to the modern region of Ikoni today.
She is "The Spirit of Cooperation!" being one of the ways I've heard her described. That spirit of cooperation can be credited to how readily our region seems to take in people from across the world, as well as in how we work and live with the pokemon around us. There are many wildlife refuges and rescue centers, protected wild spaces, and one of the most respected professions one can have here is being a Pokemon Ranger. Which I think says a lot about how well we live with the wild pokemon right next door to us.
If there is a source of potential problems, it's that there's a lot of different ideas on how Ikoni takes those ideals going forward. For example we have a rather healthy tech industry through Ivory Tower Industries which every day is putting out new standards of technology in the healthcare and pokecare industries, as well as in eco-friendly transportation and power options. It would be fair to point out that my own Childcare Center is 100% emissions free due to Ivory Tower wind and solar based options. But with that drive for progress comes a conversation about what of our history is meant to be preserved so that we can keep drawing upon inspiration for that future. There have been cases of old historical sites being bulldozed to make way for new power centers, expanded housing, and renovations to the old rail system that stretches over the region. There are protests against and for such actions that so far have remained civil enough to not concern us in Hestia town at least.
But I think we'll get through it all, the conversation is on going and I imagine that we'll keep to that "Spirit of Cooperation" that has served us all so well. Also if you would like to hear another's insight into our region, I'd recommend you reach out to my friend @ikoninovelist. She'll probably write a novella's worth of thoughts for you if you find yourself still curious.
#pkmn irl#pokemon irl#askbox#///Also Ikoninovelist is the creator of the region and my darling spouse#///So you should really go ask her more about it than her chief goober if you want the DEEP lore.
So, I’ve been in a D&D campaign for about two years now, and we’re wrapping it up with our Dm’s take on Curse of Strahd, where a lot of our characters’ personal stories are going to resolve. Our wizard is looking for her mentor who was last heard from while leaving for Barovia, My ranger/cleric’s long-lost mother is in league with Strahd and killed the uncle who raised her and kidnapped her estranged father in order to lure her to the castle and make them a family again, our werewolf blood hunter needs the blood from three of my mother’s lieutenants to cure himself of his condition and our sorceress is looking for a powerful legendary object in Stahd’s possession that might help her brother pull off a coup and save her homeland from a tyrannical king.
We’ve been dreading the castle this whole time thinking it’s going to be rough and impossible, but then last session our wizard sits down and was like “hey, so, I had a thought. Remember that time we explored that crashed Netherese city full of wizard shit and I pretty much spent the whole time in the library? I found this scroll to summon a tarasque there, how about we just summon it on Strahd’s front lawn as a distraction so we can do the things we need to while they’re distracted? It can be like a heist!” we were all like “that sounds so fucking insane, we’re so down for that plan…hey, we did that module like, almost a year ago/ six in-game months ago, have you had that scroll this entire time???”
So we take these giant barrels of magic fire wine we collected earlier and we set them up about a mile from the castle and then we walk right in because we had been invited as guests. We immediately scooby doo this shit, splitting up, my ranger goes down to the dungeons to find her mother/the catacombs where their coffins are so she knows where to find them once she and Strahd turn to mist and retreat, the blood hunter and the wizard go up to the tower to get my ranger’s dad, and our sorceress goes looking for a treasure room as well as the bones of an old dragon we’re supposed to bury to lift the curse on Barovia. The ally of ours who gave us that quest is like an undead dude who’s been quietly following behind us for like a week at this point and we put him in a bag of holding so he wouldn’t get in the way, and we forgot to take him out this entire time.
Eventually, my ranger finds her mom and our sorceress gets in trouble, running into one of the lieutenants. Sorceress sends a message to our blood hunter telling him to follow her scent with his werewolf nose and help her fight because they’re in love, my ranger has a back and fourth with her mom and has to fight her, another lieutenant and like six zombies by herself and immediately casts sending to the wizard saying “Tarasque! Now!!”
The wizard ( who has been leading a running joke about becoming ranger’s stepmom) found my ranger’s dad at this point and he’s not looking great. She summons the tarasque right in front of the wine barrels, so the thing gets drunk and has several charges of firebolt (because it was magic fire wine, you might recall) and starts charging towards the castle. 80% of the enemies in the castle go out to fight it off and immediately get gobbled up or scorched or both, meanwhile my ranger/cleric has the Holy Symbol of Ravenkind (which is a cleric object used to hunt vampires), so she casts hold vampire on her mother and destroy undead getting rid of all the zombies and putting her mother in the position where she’s frightened and *has* to use her action to dash away but physically can not move so she’s sitting there taking psychic damage while my ranger absolutely molly whops her and her little helper. She’s got spirit guardians, her bow is cursed by the vengeful spirit of her dead uncle, the blood hunter put a lightning effect on her bow… it’s absolutely disgusting how much damage she was putting out.
Elsewhere, our sorceress and blood hunter are using a wild magic rod to produce a stink cloud around their enemy and then lighting it on fire and causing explosions that shake the whole damn castle like lethal MacGyver and our wizard is just happily skipping through the castle pointing out the rapidly approaching living bulldozer to anyone who tries to stop her from walking around the castle with a recently freed prisoner and making her way down to my ranger where she precedes to just sit back and watch what’s going on until the hold vampire spell is about to wear off at which point she gets up to my ranger’s mom while she’s still stuck, yanks her crown down over her eyes and then casts immovable object on it so that she still can’t fight and my ranger can keep wailing on her. The other enemy in the room is fucking dust at this point, the spirit guardians demolished that dude.
In the end we managed to finish the ranger’s vengeance quest, find the object the sorceress needed, and got the blood vials for our blood hunter with very little effort and looney tunes tactics. This whole time we’re like “where even is Strahd?” but by this point we’re like “Seriously, where is that dude???” no one rolled an investigation check above a fucking 7, so our DM was like “gee, I don’t know 🤷🏽♀️” .We got out safely right before the tarasque hit the castle, demolishing it and burning it to the ground before it got up and started making its way towards one of the other unsuspecting towns and we’re like “…now what?”
At this point my ranger goes “OH SHIT THE DRAGON BONES WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BURY, [SORCERESS], DID YOU GRAB THOSE?”
Our Sorceress says “Oh… no, I saw them but didn’t grab ‘em, I was kinda busy…” then she lets out the undead npc THAT WAS STILL IN THE BAG OF HOLDING THE WHOLE TIME and points him towards the rubble saying “it’s in there, still, good luck” before we all have a discussion about if we even should lift the curse at this point because the trasque is still here, it won’t unsummon until it has no more hit points and it’s almost impossible to kill. It’s stuck in Barovia so long as the curse remains, we could just get one of the nomad people to help us get out and just leave the thing here because the whole place was doomed anyway and the people here kinda suck really bad.
That’s where our session ended that day, and it’s been almost a week since then but I’m still reeling over the way we essentially Bugs Bunny’d our way through Strahd’s castle—and where the fuck even is Strahd???
#this shit was so insane we were laughing our asses off the whole time and our DM was getting so annoyed#D&D#curse of strahd
Ghost Eater (Pathfinder Second Edition Archetype)
(art by Sawitry on DeviantArt)
In lands haunted by the legacies of ancient wars and tragedies, one must be prepared to find the evidence of death even centuries, perhaps millennia later.
In a fantasy setting where the ghosts of the past are very literal, that means that inevitably the exorcist becomes a quite viable, if dangerous career path. However, clearing out ghosts and other undead with emotional ties to the world rather than dark hungers means taking time to learn about them. Additionally, it also helps to keep the more hungry dead off the spellcaster snack bar too.
Enter the Ghost Eater, a specialist tradition hailing from the land of Minata that specializes in fighting the undead, putting them to rest directly or giving true exorcists the breathing room they need to put more tenacious spirits to rest permanently.
Traditionally, these warriors are not full and true casters, since they are meant to support them, having minor magical abilities at best before learning those associated with this tradition. However, there is nothing stopping caster from taking on this tradition as well, particularly if they can blend a bit of melee in as well, such as certain clerics or bards.
Additionally, even outside of Minata or Pathfinder core setting, this archetype is a natural fit for any character whose story and motivations place them in a partnership role with a fellow exorcist, especially if they are more martial while their ally is more of a caster.
Starting the dedication to this archetype means you must learn how to channel your own spirit into your strikes, and these warriors do just that, becoming able to strike spirits as if they were tangible.
Solid objects are no barrier to most of these warriors, and they’ve learned to project their spirit out of their limbs and weapons to strike at spirits that try and hide inside of them.
Later on, they can charge their strikes with more of their spirit, using their very life force as a weapon against the undead.
Some undead like to hide deeper in the ethereal plane, and in order to chase them, the most powerful of these warriors learn to step into the ether themselves, taking the fight right to their foes.
Interested in being a ghost hunter while focusing on combat? This archetype might be for you. You might be a fighter, champion, ranger, rogue, swashbuckler, or any other sort of melee build, or perhaps a ghost-shooting gunslinger, or a thaumaturge that specializes in undead in particular and so on! The short list of feats means you still get most of what makes your class fun in the first place too!
There are a lot of different angles you can play up this archetype when you think of it. Some may be dutiful servants and guardians to spellcasters, while others may be more like partners, or some may choose to forgo partners entirely in favor of sending the unquiet dead to their final reward with nothing but strength of arms.
In a distant era, the Singing Hurricane brought utter ruin to the island nation of Zaphosta, leaving many angry and frightened spirits, not to mention several song on the wind elementals. Many an exorcist has gone to the island in hopes of quelling the angst radiating from the island. But few return, and those that do are never the same.
True to their kind, Glowgrin the gourd leshy has a fasciation with all sorts of folk magic and superstitions, an interest they have turned into a career as a thaumaturge and undead-hunter. Many consider the eccentric little pumpkin a true expert in the field, and their knowledge could be a great boon if they are sought out.
The eight Masked Ghosts of Uldir have ruled the necropolis for all of living memory, though many have tried to put them to rest. Despite their name, they are made up of various forms of spectral dead, the masks of their rulership in life being what unifies them. Said masks help ward them against prayers, so putting an end to them may involve more martial forms of exorcism.
LAST TIME, ON ROGUE TRADER!
Having escaped the Rykad system and arrived on Footfall station, the Rogue Trader Abby von Valancius set about charting every single star system on the available map and doing every single side quest and optional encounter she could get her grubby little hands on.
Once the chores were taken care of, she dealt with the Valancious Protectorate worlds: Janus, Dargonus, and Kiava Gamma.
Janus was in the throes of rebellion, and in the course of investigating, the Rogue Trader discovered the rebels were backed by a small group of Eldar and the planetary governor was a Slaanesh worshiper. Gaining the aid of Aeldari Ranger Yrliet, the Rogue Trader killed the cultist governor, and negotiated a ceasefire between her people and the Eldar, allowing the xenos to continue living on the imperial agri world in secret.
Kiava Gamma's prime manufactorum had fallen to Chaos as the Fabricator Censor was seduced by infinite knowledge promised by the Ruinous Powers. After surviving another encounter with a Chaos Space Marine of the Word Bearers, preaching the power of Chaos Undivided, the Rogue Trader and company slew the heretical elements, and salvaged the Manufactorum to restore Kiava Gamma.
While Dargonus itself was mostly uneventful, the prison world of Vheabos VI had gone silent, and needed to be addressed before the Rogue Trader could formally take her place as head of the Protectorate and Rogue Trader. On the penal colony, the Rogue Trader encountered a group of loathsome Drukhari, or Dark Eldar, who had turned the inmates into gladiators for their amusement. While the eldar on the planet were dealt with, the encounter set in motion a game of cat and mouse as the Rogue Trader traveled hither and yon throughout her domain to stop Drukhari raids on various worlds, culminating in an encounter with the raiders leader, a man named Marazhai, on one of Rogue Trader Winterscale's border worlds.
Marazhai challenged the Rogue Trader to a final showdown, but it was a trap. While von Valancius sailed off to meet the Drukhari, Marazhai withdrew his forces to attack Dargonus in the largest attack the capital had ever seen. Though the Rogue Trader and her retinue succeeded in repelling the dark eldar forces, Marazhai escaped, promising he was not finished with our heroine.
After the dust had settled and the servants had cleaned up all the bodies, it was time for the ascension ceremony where the Rogue Trader would at last be properly recognized and take her place as lord of the Valancius Protectorate. Celebrations were lively and included feeding all the poor and needy of the capital world, and the Rogue Trader had a chance to meet the esteemed nobility of her dominion.
She also met Lord Inquisitor Xavier Calcazar, who had some choice words for the newly anointed Rogue Trader and some her more questionable decisions...letting xenos live on an imperial world, salvaging technology touched by heretics, choosing to save a handful of civilians rather than destroy a demon world in the making, keeping an alien in her retinue. While all technically within her rights as Rogue Trader, the Lord Inquisitor stressed that she should be mindful of such loose interpretations of Imperial law going forward, and be ready to cooperate with the Inquisition when called on.
The Rogue Trader and Magos Pasqal also make a startling discovery: the Rogue Trader's ship is alive. Or rather, it houses a Machine Spirit of incomparable power that displays true sapience and self-awareness, calling itself Nomos. The Rogue Trader recognizes it as "the Warrant Guardian", the voice that came to her aid against Kunrad Voigtvir, and the mysterious force that saved the ship from the destruction of Rykad Minoris. Could this entity be an ally, or something more sinister?
Finally, Yrliet met with the Rogue Trader in private to discuss news of great importance: she received coordinates to where some of her kin from the destroyed craftworld of Crudarach have taken refuge! So to the distant star system of the Atlas Reach the Rogue Trader goes, in search of new adventures!
What will happen in Chapter 3? Tune in and find out...now!
Hi, Hey there!
I've had this blog up for a few weeks so I figured I'd introduce myself. Not gonna reveal my actual name for security reasons but just call me Kosmic.
I currently live in the USA (Unfortunately). I'm genderfluid and really don't care what pronouns I am referred to with as long as they're not it/it's. I'm also an aspiring writer but for now I mostly just write fanfiction. Mostly Saint Seiya related obviously though I've been working on other stuff.
You can find my AO3 account here:
I've also been working on art but I'm still a beginner.
I try to be a nice person. (Though I'm not sure if I'm good at it because I can't stop swearing.) I don't accept racism, ableism, bullying, kin exclusionists or gatekeeping, misogyny, homophobia or anything anti-lgbt...
Yeah, Just don't be a dick. It's not hard.
Also don't be a sicko, no pedophila or zoophilia.
Some other stuff about me in case you care:
I'm a minor, don't be a creep.
I have ADHD, tend to hyperfixate on weird stuff. Then again a lot of people on this website do. Just saying I'm not one to judge people when I think about my interests.
I'm agnostic but I'm not going to crap on anyone for having a religion, as long as you're not a Jehovah's Witness. Screw those abusive idiots.
My hobbies are reading, writing, drawing, playing retro games, creating OCs, watching documentaries, and staying up at three AM regretting all of my life's choices
My favorite shows are: Saint Seiya (1986), Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas, Ronin Warriors, Ranma 1/2, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, Astro Boy, Jetter Mars, Sonic Prime, Sonic X, Beastars, Thundercats (both 1986 and 2011), Futurama, Kimba the White Lion, Cowboy Bebop, To Kai Watch, Captain Scarlet, Black Jack, Samurai Jack, Ampanman, The Amazing World of Gumball, Don't Hug Me I'm Scared, Danger Mouse, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai (AKA Power Rangers)
My favorite movies: the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, AKIRA, the Barbie movie (don't judge), Godzilla, Plague Dogs, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Saint Seiya: Legend of the Crimson Youth, Chirin's Bell, The amazing Spider-Man, Toy Story 3, The Iron Giant, Into the Spiderverse, also as of now gotta add the FNAF movie
Favorite video games: Sonic the Hedgehog series, Phantasy Star 4, Columns, Panel De Pon, Mega Man, PulseMan, Mario Kart 8, Pokemon: Legends Arceus, Animal Crossing, Earthbound, Poyo Poyo/Mean Bean Machine, Sin and Punishment, Harvest Moon, Star Fox
Favorite Bands/Musical Artists: Jack Stauber, Daft Punk, Lemon Demon, Caravan Palace, Tally Hall, Miura Ayme, Rammstein, The Living Tombstone, Rare Americans, Nirvana, Rammstein, Witchfinder General, Gorillaz
Favorite books: The Golden Compass, The Most Dangerous Game, Magnus Chase, Heros of Olympus (or basically anything by Rick Riordan), Death Note, Beastars (manga), Inuyasha, The Lovely Bones (I fucking cried so hard), MAUS (Made me cry harder), City of Ember, Journey to the West, Most classic creepypastas mainly "Abandoned by Disney" (YES. I know they're not books), Cells at Work, AKIRA (Manga)
So... Um... Yeah.
I like to talk with people about my interests so don't be afraid to give me a message. (As long as it doesn't promise "hot singles" in my area, I'm not that stupid.)
Updates:
I have a discord under the name robotic carnival and a side blog Tezuka Brainrot.
I am fictokin of: Cobalt from Astro Boy mainly.
Partially:
Mars from Jetter Mars.
Jibanyan from Yo Kai Watch
Rika from Phantasy Star.
Akane Tendo and Ryoga Hibbikki from Ranma 1/2
Cygnus Hyoga, Pegasus Seiya, and Aquarius Camus from Saint Seiya.
And the flag on my profile picture is ADHD flag.
Cringe and proud. ♥️
My husbandos are Doctor Yamanoue and Doctor Kawashimo from Jetter Mars, Phoenix Ikki from Saint Seiya, James/Kojiro from Pokemon, and Rune from Phantasy Star.
I can't beat Zio PLZ someone tell me how.
I am pro Palestine and I will accept no support of genocide.
I am neutral on the Joe Hawley situation as he has done terrible things yet does not deserve to be hacked or harassed.
Also ship discourse and fanfiction censorship discourse is dumb I don't care anymore. And regret my past actions. Don't harass over stuff you don't like but also tag your shit. You can't complain about people judging you if you are irresponsible about keeping it where it belongs.
Stiff! Okay so, after seeing your posts about gw2 I’m kinda curious about the game and wanna try it so uh,,,
What’s a good starting point? Any tips with classes? Also, is it smart to bite the bullet and get the expansions or nah?
ANXNDJSKSJ LITERALLY NADE MY DAY WITH THIS QUESTION.
Okay so the starting point exactly where you start the game. Depending on the race you pick you will start in a different starting zone, but you can travel to the other ones as well! You can explore it all! Try to walk around the maps, complete the hearts (quests), find vistas and points of interest and collect hero points. Just explore.
Also, every 10th level you will unlock a part of your personal story. I would personally do that because not only is the story pretty good, it also gives you some nice rewards and you learn more about the world you're exploring.
I would definitely not buy the expansions right off the bat. Play the game and see if you actually like the combat style and how this game works.
When you hit the max level -80- you can get the expansions and do much more stuff than when leveling.
The expansions however don't include the living world seasons which you have to be buy separately.
However, if you don't care about going chronologically with the story, I'd definitely recommend playing the first instance of Path of Fire (PoF, the second expansion) as you get a raptor right at the end of that instance.
Then you can go back and do Heart of thorns (HoT, the first expansion) where you get a glider.
Now a bit more about the classes under the cut:
Each class has 3 different specializations for each of the expansions and they give you a new way to play the class!
In gw2 most of the classes can do basically any role - healers, boon support, dps or some combination of those!
Warrior - pretty standard, mostly close range weapons, heavy hitting.
Guardian - something like a paladin! Has great support abilities, close range and long range weapons and can do some serious damage.
Revenant (my personal fave) - another heavy hitting class, mostly close range, uses the powers of dead heroes from the world.
Ranger - pretty self explanatory, has a pet! Mostly long range weapons, traps and spirits.
Thief- lots of mobility, long range and short range, very stealthy
Engineer - has a lot of gadgets, uses turrets, guns and rifles and shields
Necromancer - relies on Magic, mostly long range weapons, can summon undead minions, corrupts their enemies.
Elementalist - can switch between the 4 elements, mostly long range weapons, probably the hardest class but fun if you learn how to play it!
Mesmer - relies on magic and illusions of themselves to confuse enemies. Mostly long range weapons again.
All of the classes can be super fun to play and it just takes a bit to find which one you like playing the most.
Enjoy playing and exploring the world of tyria!!!
Expanded Optional Class Features!
Over my time playing 5e there's a few small tweaks I've wanted to make to the core classes, below are just a few of the tweaks I personally use at my tables!
Below are optional class features for Barbarians, Clerics, Monks, Paladins, Rangers and Warlocks, with reasoning given for them all
Barbarian
Ancestral Rage
Rage stops barbarians casting spells, but that leaves races that get spells a little high and dry, not able to use their spells in most fights, this is intended to fix that. Nothing super crazy, but tiefling barbarians will have just a little more fun.
Unending Rage
The latest barbarian playtests have let barbarians use bonus actions to keep raging, and let them rage for 10 minutes. While I think this doesn't really work thematically, it made me realise Rage probably shouldn't be as limited either. Will this come up much, not really, but it's a little less tracking and it's more thematic.
Unshakeable Rage
Force damage is becoming a lot more common on higher CR monsters, so having resistance to it for barbarians is pretty important. It's a fix to the main problem I have with barbarians, like I spoke about in THIS tumblr post.
Cleric
Channel Divinity: Spirit Guardians
Once again this is a fix to my biggest problem with the class, I don't really think turn undead is thematic for all clerics, but I think the spirit guardians spell both is pretty thematic for all clerics (or can easily be reflavoured to be), and is such a must pick for the class, it should just be built in, so this does! Scales with your proficiency bonus so it'll stay useful at all levels, and frees up your third level slots for something else
Monk
Overflowing Ki
Monks need more ki points, and while this might look like it's giving them less at first, the recharge on this is a lot better, you might have less ki points overall, but you'll have all of them for all every combat
Perfect Flow
Similarly to overflowing ki, monks deserve a better capstone, so this is it, a constant flow of ki points, so you can always do what you need in a fight
Paladin
Swear Your Oath
Again a fix to my biggest problem with paladins. The source of sorcerers power is their subclass, so they get it at level 1, same with clerics and warlocks, so why not paladins? This feature, while not doing anything mechanical, helps the thematics of paladins immensely
Ranger
Mark Foe
Potentially the first part of a full ranger rework, rangers need a better feature than Favoured Enemy, and this is it. In an ideal world rangers would have a core class feature like this that subclasses could build off...... maybe....
Survivalist's Spellcasting
Another fix, rangers are the masters of the wilderness, they should be able to prepare for any situation.... but no, they're known casters, well no longer
Warlock
Eldritch Blast
The final fix I've spoken about before, it's such a must-have, that it just needs to be a class feature. Plus having it be a class feature means it doesn't scale with multiclassing which helps a lot (still not quite enough to stop hexblades, but I've got another fix there
Cunning Contract
Warlocks were int based in the D&DNext playtests, and they still absolutely make sense to be, so this just does that!
