ichi's colorful vases 一 ⚱️
ichi was a little piggy who lived just outside the cozy town of "clayton," famous for its long tradition of making things out of clay.
from pots to sculptures, everyone in clayton loved working with clay, and they taught it to all the kids in school. that's where ichi discovered her love for pottery!
ichi loved the quietness of her little home away from the busy streets of clayton. with only a few neighbors far apart, she could focus all her time on what she loved most: making beautiful vases out of clay.
she loved how soft the clay felt in her hands and how she could mold it into any shape she imagined.
her favorite creations were vases. she made them in all kinds of shapes: round ones, tall ones, ones with patterns like flowers and stars.
each vase was unique.
ichi was just starting to become famous in clayton too!
one day, a café called "cuddle cup" asked her to make all the dishes for their café. it was a big job, but ichi worked hard, making plates, cups, and of course, more vases for them!
then, one exciting day, a customer brought her a poster about a big clay exhibition happening in a nearby city. the poster showed colorful vases and plates just like hers.
ichi was so excited! she wanted to be a part of this!
ichi worked day and night, making new vases with bright colors and fancy designs. some had swirls of blue and white, like the ocean, while others had sparkles that glittered in the sunlight.
finally, the day of the exhibition arrived. ichi packed all her vases carefully in a big cart and set off with some friends, who were also artists, to the big city.
the exhibition hall was huge and filled with tables and stands covered in clay creations. there were vases, plates, and even clay animals that looked like real ones!
ichi found her spot: a simple wooden table with a strawberry-patterned cloth covering it. she carefully arranged her vases, making sure they looked their best. around her, other artists were setting up their tables, too.
some vases were big and shiny, while others were delicate and covered in tiny details. ichi felt a little nervous. would anyone notice her vases next to all these amazing ones?
as she waited for the exhibition to open, ichi walked around, looking at what the other artists had made. their vases were so perfect. no bumps or rough edges, and the colors matched perfectly.
compared to theirs, ichi's vases were sometimes a bit messy or had colors that didn't quite go together. ichi started doubting her own abilities... would anyone even look at her vases?
when the doors finally opened to the public, a tall dachshund with a big mustache came up to ichi's table. he looked at her vases with curious eyes, and then he smiled.
"these vases are special" he said, picking up one shaped like a star. "they remind me of clayton. i used to teach pottery there, and your style is just like what i saw in my classes."
ichi blushed. she had never thought her vases could remind someone of their hometown!
the dachshund bought one of ichi's vases and carried it proudly around the exhibition. soon, other animals came to ichi's table, curious about her clay creations.
some bought vases, while others just admired them and talked to ichi about how she made them.
ichi felt so happy. her vases might not have been the fanciest or the most perfect, but they were special to her. and now, they were special to others, too!
as she packed up her cart to go back to clayton, ichi thought about all the new ideas she had seen at the exhibition. she wanted to try making new shapes and using even more colors in her vases.
maybe next time, she would even try making clay animals like the ones she had seen!
with a big smile on her face, ichi waved goodbye to her friends and headed home, excited to get back to her clay and start creating again.
the end!

📌 @archies_louth
My nephew and Winnie (my daughter if you're new here) attended a pottery class by @popoloceramicospilsby at Archies (the classes were also available at @little.louth and @justonemore.bike in Horncastle.
I love seeing these two play together (𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘮) and the relationship they have. Long story short but my twin sister having a baby close in age to mine (9 months apart) has been a nice shared experience - they even go to school together.
𝙈𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨 (𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘥)
The session was 45 minutes and the dragons they are painting was £14. The hot chocolate she's drinking is from Archies.
🖌 They offer ‘paint a pot’ takeaway boxes to paint in the comfort of your own home - great for keeping the kids entertained on rainy days.
🎨 They bring everything needed to your home or venue for your childrens’ parties.
🖌 Popolo Ceramico Spilsby capture baby and children's hand and foot prints in paint on to a range of quality ceramics, producing forever keepsakes - including pets footprints on ceramics.
🎨 They arrange Pop-Up Pottery Cafes working with local venues, bringing a range of ceramic for painting and decorating.
🖌 They host hen parties, friends’ nights in, etc.
🎨 Plus, there is also the option of personalised jewellery with your little one’s’ prints - a forever keepsake of those tiny hands and feet in silver (so cute!)
🖌 Now offering clay and plaster imprints and impressions.
