SK is a Hufflepuff! He just feels like a Hufflepuff to me, and the only other option is Gryffindor, which fits him a little less. He’s a jock (but also sometimes not a jock) and loud, enthusiastic, etc, but I don’t really think he’s brash, which tends to be a gryffindor thing (they have more of a “let’s just do it and worry about the consequences later” mentality). He can be brave if necessary, but doesn’t go running into conflicts just to play hero (unlike Alfred). Hufflepuffs tend to do things because they believe in it, while some Gryffindors may use it as a chance to show off, and at heart Yong Soo falls into the more honest, less performative of the two houses. He’s a hard worker (very Hufflepuff) and he's pretty dependable, although his loyalty definitely isn’t freely given. I also think that he can be indecisive sometimes regarding conflicts, especially when friends/neighbors are involved, and would try not to get involved in drama unless he has to (idk if that’s something gryffindors would do as well, but they seem more eager for gossip? I guess? Not that Hufflepuffs can't be, but they're more inclined to seek the other side's version of events given their tendency to be fair)

Side note: I think there’s also some Slytherin in him, if taking the interpretation that South Korea used to personify Silla, which basically conquered the Korean peninsula via an alliance with Tang China. South Korea’s got to have the cunning and ambition to take on a project like that and actually accomplish it. Although that part of him has mostly disappeared by modern day, it might still be there somewhere, maybe in his ambition and tendency to keep striving for bigger and better things. I can’t see him being manipulative though, and all his other traits totally outweigh anything Slytherin, but it’s still a part of him.

Yong Soo passes his brother in the hallway who pointedly makes a show of ignoring him.

"Ouch, mate." Kyle informs from Yong Soo's side, the usual laid-back grin plastered on his face. "Your brother is seriously cold towards you. Is it because you're a Hufflepuff and he's a Slytherin?"

Before Yong Soo could answer, Neeraja pipes up from his other side.

"That's probably not the case, Kyle."

"Looks like that way to me." Kyle insists. "Or is there more to you guys' relationship than it meets the eyes?" There's no ill will in his question.

"Perhaps so." Neeraja answers for Yong Soo. "Anywho Kyle, did you write your potions essay?" He asks without waiting for a response to his previous question, glancing at Yong Soo for a split second.

As his two friend walks in front of him, Kyle chattering, "Only that demonic professor Beilschmidt would give us a 6ft long essay on bleeding Felix Felicis," Yong Soo tries not to think of the icy glint in his brother's eyes.

He looks exactly like that evening where they got into a nasty fight which resorted in them delivering blows at each other until they couldn't stand straight.

The image of his brother came with a sobering force to Yong Soo like someone had poured bucket of cold water on him.

He could still see the way his brother stood there, glaring at him with a bloody nose and a bruising face, probably mirroring his own; their teeth bared, knuckles bruised, their bones aching, and lungs rattling.

"이 개새끼야!" His brother had spat.

Yong Soo shakes his head and pretends he doesn't care.
