Tommy spots Buck in the grocery store this week.

He's picking up a few quick frozen dinners to have on hand, he doesn't much feel like cooking these days, and Buck - Evan - is... he's picking up potatoes, and a turkey, and carrots, and cranberries, and Tommy aches to go over to him, to add sweet potatoes and marshmallows to his cart, to kiss his cheek and help decide on table linens for Thursday. He imagines unloading the groceries together, making the crust for the pie according to his boyfriend's very specific instructions, watching the game with Chimney and learning about Jee's new American girl dolls, and ending the night pressing his boyfriend into the counter and kissing him and Evan, and Evan, and Evan.

The chill from the box he's holding seeps into his fingers; it wakes him from the daydream. And before he can be spotted Tommy ducks into the next aisle.

As a kid, I disliked broccoli. But now I'm thanking God it exists because it's such an easy vegetable to incorporate into otherwise lacking dishes.

As I'm trying to increase my fiber intake and reduce carbohydrates, broccoli is a go-to.

Admittedly, yes, I usually just use the frozen broccoli. Because even when reheated, frozen broccoli still tastes fine (unlike some other vegetables . . . . ) and can be stored for when I don't use it and not go bad.

I'm sorry for hating you when I was a kid, broccoli. Clearly, you are one of the superior vegetables.

well he called me up at 3am to break up with me 😭 long story short, he talked about how the relationship was fizzling out n he knows from past relationships that it's better to end it early (mind u, the previous week i spent almost 10 days at his house n he never brought up any issues when we were together every day, so that says enough about his character) rly sucks that he compared us to his past bc he's told me about how they were toxic n unhealthy :( n he always talked about how thankful he was that we weren't like that. he got mean towards the end of the relationship too, he wouldn't communicate, pulled away n neglected me, he'd say things without thinking about how it'd make me feel, also asked me "isn't that a lot of carbs?" while we were out at a restaurant.

there were commitment issues from the start but he kept coming back, so i kept giving him another chance bc he said he wanted to try. i refuse to want someone who has told me multiple times that he doesn't want me!! everyone has told me that i deserve better but i just wanted him to be better :( bc he was good to me, he was sweet n caring other times, actual boyfriend material! no one is perfect n ppl r complex, everyone has their own issues n shit so I'll never hate him, but I'll hate what he did to me. as my sister said: a horrible person can be with a good person and still be a horrible person.

the wound is still pretty fresh so it's been tough lately.
