Prompt: Love Commentary: This A.U. became a thing sometime around 2019+onwards in Koushiro fanbase partially due to a series of active discussions between Koushiro fans in the tags and elsewhere (including Me!), most of us who were perturbed that people making Miraculous Ladybug AUs for the fandom didn't immediately place Koushiro as Ladybug despite the fact that Tentomon, whose name literally comes from Tento{u}mushi / 天道虫 {Ladybug} and is akin in looks to one, should make that kind of placement pretty automatic.

We knew that the likely ""reasoning"" is that Koushiro is often considered "unpopular"/""boring"" to other fans, thus resulting in Koushiro's frequent dismissal from not only inclusion in fanfiction, support for Koushiro's wider canon post-02 within meta, and commentaries as a whole but also within many A.U.s (often being regulated to a ""pair the spares"" role in shipping and then immediately ignored by people outside Koushiro-focused fandom); the other reasoning being the fact the girls are just immediately picked for the role a bit more (when not considered with thoughtfulness from their actual fans) due to gender stereotyping regardless of Koushiro's partner literally being close to a ladybug - and that same gendered stereotyping likely also affecting Koushiro never being chosen for such A.U. roles by the wider fandom, without Koushiro fans ourselves bringing the points (and hypocrisy) up.

The rest of us (including many of us in KouTai{/shiro} fandom) were basically saying "fuck that!!" and thus this A.U. was born! Not long after, Kizuna previews; were dropping by 2020, so within my AMVs, I was only just getting to include Kizuna footages by the time, and mainly only stuck to footage from the previews for this A.U.

For my specific A.U., I use "MIRACULOUS? Koushiro" for the title; indicating the "Miraculous" title as a QUESTION; (as if it's something Koushiro's own self is Also Questioning, {but also it's a Koushiro vs Society's Perceptions of Koushiro dynamic; as Koushiro is canonically an ADOPTEE from a Non-normative family} while other Koushiro fans who contribute to it may at times use varying titles or A.U. concepts! However, my "in the rain" AMV was also one of the earliest contributions, as I originally finished that one sometime around September 2019, and actively talked about it with other Koushiro fans around at time.

If you love both Koushiro, and Miraculous Ladybug; (even if you don't ship KouTai{/shiro} as romantic); Please feel free to contribute to this A.U. at any time!! Every day that we get closer to tgr being released, I become.e just a little more unhinged. So here is my theory for Jeremy's backstory and elodie maybe being alive.

(This has no real chance of being canon but hey we got tsc through being delusional. )

So we know Jeremy has an older brother (gonna call him Joe for convenience cuz I forgot his name) that he avoids like the plague, and Stuart said elodie was bought by an arms dealer.

Young teen Joe joined a gang in secret and quickly started working his way up the ranks. Now one of the gangsters had a friend on the other side of the world, that happened to sell guns. This friend is the arms dealer that bought elodie.

A little while before the banquet, the arms dealer visits his friend. Joe tracks him down and tries to buy a weapon

The dealer refuses because reasons and instead Joe waits for him to meet up with his friend and steals a gun.

Joe does who knows what with the gun, and soon realizes that he just fucked with an arms dealer. So he tries to pin it on his little brother Jeremy.

Jeremy, who is at the banquet, is completely oblivios to his older brother sneaking in and planting an unregistered firearm into his bag. He is completly unaware when event security walks up and tells him he has to leave. Then he's at the station, shaking his head because he doesn't know how a gun got into his bag he doesn't now how any of this happened! But the police don't believe him and in the end his parents have to do a lot of shit to cover this up. The dealer knows better than to go after him because he is a governors son. And Jeremy never again trusts cop because how the fuck did they not see the guilty look on his brothers face.

I made a previous post about elodie being alive and one of the responses said she may have been bought to be used as target practice. I hate this idea but I'm running with it.

Flash forward a few years and elodie is 14/15. She is malnourished, covered in scars from bullets she could not dodge, and is barely there. But she is a Moreau, and she will endure. She will endure until her captors either kill her, or she finds a way out and back to her family. Not her parents, but the brother that was taken from her, he is her only family, the only thing that has kept her going these long years.

one day, she hears gunshots, not unusual but the amount of shots is. And there men grabbing her and taking her somewhere, and she's kicking and screaming because she thinks this is the end. Then they put something over her mouth and everything goes dark.

She wakes up in a hospital room with two strange men sitting across from her. They're speaking a language she doesn't understand and have to bring in a translator. They ask for her name but takes a few moments for the translator to understand her because of how hoarse her voice is. "My name is Elodie Moreau"

She finds out her brother sold out their family, that the fbi have been investigating her family and the contact her mother sold her too. She finds out Jean is alive.

Jean and Jeremy are at home when they get a knock at the door. It's an agent and he saying Jean has to come with him. Instead of taking Jean to the building where they took his confesion, they take him to a hospital. He's confused for all of a second when he steps into the room. Then he sees her. The sister he thought he'd lost is sitting there. To anyone else she would have been unrecognizable, but he knows. He kniws because he's dreamt if seeing those very same gray eyes again for years. She may be covered in wretched scars that make him want to throttle his parents, but she's there.

If I had a nickel for everytime someone o the internet cited the events of Oblivio as proof that a character should have forgotten new info learned during akuma shenanigans despite the fact the character's mind (unlike Marinette and Adrien during Obilivio) was NOT under the influence of an akuma, I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

To be clear, I'm talking about a Youtube comment claiming that Hawk Moth and Mayura almost certainly had their memories of the temp heroes' identities wiped away just because Miracle Queen helped them learn this info, and a tumblr post claiming that Luka remembering Ladybug and Chat Noir in Wishmaker after Ladybug and Chat forgot each other's identities in Oblivio as an inconsistency or something.

Oblivio only worked like it did because the Akumas power was to erase memories.

Like /personally/ I think it was bullshit they should've remembered.

She could hear the smirk in his voice as he continued to torture her, even as she was doing her best impression of an ostrich trying to bury its head in the sand.

“Well, one thing’s for sure: we would make a good-looking couple,” he said. “You’re just the only one who doesn’t see it.”

Oh, she saw it alright. That was the problem. She closed her eyes and all she could see was Adrien blushing in the Montparnasse Tower as he told her how amazing she was.

Do u read and see the shows contents multiple times? Or interact with other fans/ fandom?

I'm honored that you think my stuff is good! As for how I come up with it, well, I'll answer as best I can, but I don't know how useful it will be? If you wanna ask something more specific, feel free!

Most of my posts are responses to asks, so my general process is to read the ask, think about it as I go about my life, and then write a response once I feel like I have my thoughts in order. Then I add the post to my queue so I can reread it at least once before it actually posts to catch any errors and make sure it reads coherently. I usually find the time to do that, though not always.

The posts that aren't asks are just me talking about random things that I can't stop thinking about, so I need to scream into the void to get my brain to move on. Those ideas come from random thoughts, a trend I notice in fanfic, comments/reblogs in my asks, and a whole host of other places. I've got one post in my queue right now that I'm pretty sure was spawned by my latest rewatch of The Good Place, but I can't be sure about that. I don't try to look for post topics, they just come to me.

I don't watch the show over and over. Not really my thing. I've seen all of Miraculous seasons 1 to 3 once and I've seen most of seasons 4 and 5 twice (once subbed, once dubbed). Origins and Oblivio are the only exceptions. They're my favorite episodes, so I think I watched them a few times back before season four aired and my feeling toward the show started to really sour. When I'm pulling quotes, I just rely on my memory and the fan wiki, which has transcripts for all of the English episodes, allowing me to fact check myself. I occasionally pull up a specific episode to check the visuals in a given scene, but that's really rare and I only do it because I have access to the streaming version. If my SO ever cancels Disney+, then I'll be script only.

I read other fan analysis if it crosses my dash, but I don't go looking for it or follow any super active blogs. While I think there are others with valuable input out there, I already spend enough time thinking about Miraculous for my own blog, so I try to focus my energy in other spaces when I'm not managing said blog. I don't like to endlessly scroll on Tumblr and only follow blogs that don't post much to keep from feeling overwhelmed or sucked in.

I started talking about Miraculous on here because I found it genuinely fascinating how badly it was written. I think you could teach an entire class on basic writing principles using Miraculous as a case study because there are so many things it does wrong and failure really is a fantastic teacher. But the analysis I do for Miraculous isn't a skill that's unique to Miraculous. What you see on this blog is my default state. This is just how my brain works. How I engage with the majority of media. When I finish watching or reading something that I didn't like, I want to understand why I didn't like it and how it could be shaped into something I would like.

It's a honed skill. I've been obsessed with story telling since I was a little kid and my parents sort of accidentally started training me on analysis at a young age. Add in years of voracious reading and several excellent English teachers and I'm able to run this blog without too much mental effort. Talking and thinking about writing are legitimately fun for me. This stuff is my "I'm too drained to write" hobby.

None of this makes me some arbiter of quality or means that I understand every point of view about what makes a story good. All it means is that I know enough about writing to be able to clearly articulate why I like or dislike the way a story was told.

I guess that's the one piece of advice I can give. When you find something that bugs you, really think about why. Was it just a matter of taste or is there something more? Does it seem like the flaw is an intentional writing choice or not? Why? What changes could you make to fix the flaw? Can you make those changes without completely rewriting the story? Those are the kinds of fixes I look for first. There are certainly cases where massive change is needed, but looking for small changes will really hone that analytical ability to improve your writing as it forces you to focus on the fine details of the way stories work.

Optimizing Viewing Experience for Love Square Shippers

You guys have previously seen me make a post on the love square screen time records based on the data I collected on how much screen time each love square ship has in each episode and special and in each season exactly and now we're going to be putting that data to more practical use and using it to figure out what are the best seasons, episodes and specials for shippers of certain sides of the love square to watch when binging through Miraculous.

Adrienette

You don't need to know the exact screen time for Adrienette in every season to know that season 5 is the best season for Adrienette shippers to watch. Not only is it the season with the most Adrienette screen time, but it's also the season where Adrienette finally becomes canon which is yet another plus.

For episodes that feature particularly large amounts of Adrienette screen time you can look to "Gamer" (6 min 28 sec) in season 1; "Riposte" (4 min 14 sec), "Gorizilla" (4 min 11 sec) and "Frozer" (4 min 10 sec) in season 2; "Oblivio" (9 min 3 sec) and "The Puppeteer 2" (4 min 27 sec) in season 3; "Mr. Pigeon 72" (2 min 23 sec), "Psycomedian" (2 min 19 sec) and "Simpleman" (2 min 8 sec) in season 4; and "Determination" (4 min 46 sec), "Transmission" (4 min 49 sec) and "Protection" (4 min 19 sec) in season 5.

In terms of Miraculous World specials, you're best bet is the New York Special which has 7 min 40 sec of screen time which has the whole storyline of Marinette trying remain friends with Adrien.

Ladynoir

Really you can pick any season since Ladynoir dominates all of them but the best season for Ladynoir shippers would be season 1 which not only has the most Ladynoir out of all the seasons but also has that classic Ladynoir dynamic I've seen certain Ladynoir fans crave in the later seasons: fighting villains and just being a dynamic duo in general, Cat Noir making the puns and Ladybug getting annoyed with him, those kind of stuff.

For Maricat, the season of you're choice would be season 4, even though most of the screen time there is concentrated in "Glaciator 2". This season even has the episode with the most Maricat screen time in all of the show so far, that is, "Glaciator 2".

Episodes with particularly high amounts of Maricat screen time include "Evillustrator" (2 min 17 sec) and "Gamer" (54 sec) in season 1, "Glaciator" (3 min 29 sec) and "Befana" (36 sec) in season 2, "Weredad" (3 min 57 sec) and "Kwamibuster" (44 sec) in season 3, "Sentibubbler" (1 min 24 sec) and "Glaciator 2" (8 min 14 sec) in season 4, and "Elation" (5 min 37 sec) and "Protection" (48 sec) in season 5.

uh, I tried to actually explain the entire Metamorphosis process but gave up so have these bullet points instead (with the akuma that breaks the rule)

only a being with a soul can be transformed (Robostus, Feast)

the transformation cannot create an additional object (Dark Cupid, Rogercop, Gamer...), that would only be possible by unifying with the ladybug.

the holder cannot transform themselves (Collector)

only the infused object and the affected person can be transformed, nothing more (Guitar Villain, Captain Hardrock, Santa Claws)

the transformed person is the one who decides their appearance and power

the meta cannot resurrect someone

the meta cannot create a being with a soul, only affect it (Sandboy? I guess)

no time travel (Timebreaker, Timetagger)

the holder cannot transform multiple people with one akuma (Oblivio, Gang of Secrets, Heart Hunter...)

the meta cannot change the miraculous magic (Wishmaker, Reflekta, Catalyst, Kwamibuster...)

a miraculous holder can get transformed but it’s difficult and risky for everyone involved

Forgive the rant, but um, yeah i doubt one single interwiew is gonna ruin her entire career.

Oh yeah, and people salt on her for Posting the ladynoir kissing pic (in oblivio I think). But I'm pretty sure she deleted that pic in Gladiator 2... If my memory serves me correct.

Yeah, one of my go-to complaints about saltfics is how many of them seem to think that Alya, at age 14, posting an interview for her blog without verifying that everything the person told her was true, would somehow get her banned from journalism for life. That doesn't even happen to ADULT journalists from huge news organizations, or Fox News would have shut down a long time ago. Again, it's exaggerating any potential consequences for the sake of punishing Alya.

I at least sort of understand people being upset about posting that Oblivio ladynoir kissing pic, she shouldn't have done that, but like you said, she DID delete it (and all her other ladynoir pics) when Marinette insisted on it in Glaciator 2. She wasn't happy about it, but she did it.

Fukkkkkk I want to spoil the surprises of my fics but i don't want to ruin them for who follows me on tumblr.... I guess fuk-ich, idk how to format a post, but it cant be that hard, am I Right!?

CW: Spoilers for the chapter amouts and last chapter; Transphobes DNI lol, I made all of them Queer and I'll die on this lane; Little Vents(more than one, kinda?); Mention of Fan-Childs.

First of all: The ending. The fanwork just will get 4 chaps cuz i can't drag stuff yet. To spoil the ending, Bill will have a panic attack upon not being able to avoid feeling queer at Josh's presence, gets a hold of his mother's whisky, drunkly and pathetically call Josh to come to his house and out of pity he will attend. They end up alone in Bill's room and end up kissing. It doesn't stop Josh from going to college, much for the opposite effect as he gets scared and confused, but plans to come back to Eltingville soon with a clearer mind.

Pete HC: 🅱️ete is transmasc, stealth-trans. His parents saw it coming from a young age and are actually supportive. They help him hide away his deadname and other stuff that would direct hate towards him. His dad loves having a male son that is interested in helping him with brute shit, although he doesn't endorse his interest in horror and nerd stuff, it is the exception.(also Jer knows his deadname as they are childhood frens.)

Jerry HC('s, theres A LOT of stuff): 1st, Jerry is transfem. 2nd, PeteJer is real. 3rd: I made BillJer virtually impossible timeline-wise bc Bill assumes himself as gay a little after Jer's Egg-Hatchin', also he has the fastest but most oblivios gaydar(maybe queer-dar, idk??) and never felt attracted to Jer.(also yeah, i hold a grudge for the flood of billjer we had when eltingville blew up. There will be at least 3 more projs. after I conclude this one: A continuation where Josh comes back to Eltingville to see Bill and ends up dragging him to Boston; A PeteJer bittersweet tale with two parts in which(as it is in my brain rn, change might come) mirrors the BillJosh plot, you'll have to wait to see; And a Jane-centered story BECAUSE I 💜 HER!!1!!

I.... Okay.... Last one. The cringiest and most personal yet: There will need to be a Miracle, a fucking change of heart of me to not put Fan-Childs at some point.... yeah. Look, I myself plan of becoming a Father/Ba irl and it pours in the way i see relationships. With Osana it was just a time issue, Megami, Muja and Hanako don't want you romantically and Mida should just go to hell. Serriosly. Unless you were izolated from men for a long age, then I would understand falling in love with Gary Stu. Asu, I am looking at you. Are you both blind and deaf? Did the rumours not get to you? Is Iruka (can't get to get to you) that good at hiding? He shall give us his advice. Kizana, I am angry at you. A queen like you should have higher standards. Osoro, just... I didn't expect a lot, yet I am still dissapointed. I can understand Oka and Amai, since they both give the "nice as fuck but dumb as rock", but in rest...

My thoughts on the Miraculous Seasons!

Yeah, I'll be talking about the Miraculous seasons, including it's specials and movie.

Maybe I'll do another post talking about my thoughts on the sixth season of the series. With the things we have.

Season 1

It's decent. It has it's good episodes (Stormy Weather, The Evillustrator, Bubbler, etc), and bad episodes (Pharaoh, Origins [specially the second part], Kung Food, etc).

The animation it's pretty good, and the characters are good too.

Season 2

The best season indeed!

Here we have the best episodes (The redemption arc of Chloe, Gorizilla, Sandboy and The Heroes' Day).

The characters have been really good, the plot was amazing at this point, etc.

It's funny because Thomas wasn't really involved in this season, Jeremy Zag was.

Season 3

And here the quality started to decrease.

The plot was trying to be more dramatic and serious (like Amphibia did later), but it was like "this show is family friendly, now it's really dramatic!".

The episodes have been mediocre (Oblivio or Feast), bad (Desperada or Bakerix), or garbage (Animaestro, Chat Blanc, Ladybug and the finale).

And of course, the characters have been really bad, especially Marinette and Fu.

Season 4

This season was amazing... I'm lying, in fact, it's really bad.

There was only three good episodes (Mega Leech, Guiltrip and Crocoduel), the rest were going to be bad, to cringey (Wishmaker), to... Qlin (one of the WORST episodes of the entire animation).

And the characters have been really annoying, like Adrien with his stupid "I feel alone" drama with Ladybug and the heroes. It's really stupid and useless.

And don't make me talk about Zoe Lee. I'm just saying that Aurore Beaureal is a character. She would have been more useful with the Bee Miraculous.

Btw, even the animation was horrible here (watch Simpleman, the most unbeta episode, and you'll understand my point).

Season 5

...

What the fuck?!

-Me watching the season 5.

This is the WORST season of the series (and take my words, maybe season 6 is even worse). It's like the pretentious version of Sonichu, but without the creepy instances that wouldn't be family friendly.

This season was so bad, that only ONE episode was pretty decent (Perfection, and it's thanks to Kagami), the rest was really, REALLY terrible (Derision it's a fairly odd parents retcon but even worse, Revelation it's stupid, Collusion it's the worst political episode, Revolution it's the perfect example of Thomas being Chris Chan with Chloe, Representation it's a really bad pretentious fanfic, and the final episodes of the season have been an insult).

Even the animation was horrible here too. The colors have been disgustingly saturated, and didn't help the episodes.

And don't make me talk about its "dramatic" moments... I CAN'T EVEN REFER IT LIKE "DRAMATIC MOMENTS" BECAUSE IT'S AN INSULT.

Bonus: SPECIALS

Miraculous New York

It's garbage, it's only a longer chapter of the series but barely during an hour.

Only one character was good (Sparrow), and it was eliminated just because of the "feminist subplot"...

I'm really missing Chloe's subplot for this special...

And Ladybug was really annoying, of course.

Miraculous Shangai

The best special, but still is bad.

The only good thing about this thing is Fei and the worldbuilding of the special. But the rest was really bad.

And no Thomas, I'm not going to sympathize with Marinette, literally she stalked Adrien going to Shangai and following him with an app...

Miraculous Paris

Here's where I'm going to be dead...

I think this special is really overated, and for me it's really bad.

At least the animation was pretty decent, but that's the only thing I can say...

But the AU concept was really poor, and it's like "we need to be like the Spiderverse".

And the characters have been poorly executed, especially Gabriel, Adrien and Marinette from the "reverse" AU (I can't define it as a reverse AU when only three characters change to be opposites).
