This is the chapter where rating changes because of body anatomy. Not as detailed as I had originally planned, but that's not a bad thing! It's got the vibe of biology class in a way.

i really don’t think it’s “typical dragon age fandom nonsense” for people to be genuinely upset about the world state choices. combat, level design, art direction, gameplay gimmicks, those have all varied across each dragon age game. the one thing that’s remained constant are nods to our previous choices.

i wasn’t expecting my HoF to come riding in on a griffon, but i can’t find a monument dedicated to warden tabris somewhere around the anderfels? lucanis couldn’t have some lines about the time that one arainai boy was stirring up trouble in antiva city? you’re gonna tell me that making a mage the new divine wouldn’t have some impact on nevarra and antiva? on the anderfels, the supposed most devout militant andrastian nation in thedas? you’re saying nobody in the north is paying attention to who rules orlais or ferelden? come on.

once again thinking about jason as duke’s robin. he’s ~4 years younger than jason, and that puts him at 8-12 during Jason’s time as robin. that’s prime time to get attached to your local kid vigilante before your own life goes downhill.

and if we try to keep duke’s meeting with bruce in zero year + duke’s age (so he can remember the meeting and hold that conversation with bruce), he has to be around 8. if he starts following batman through the news at that time because of the mess that just happened, the robin he sees is probably jason. I’ve literally connected the dots

The Year of the Dragon.

A joke the fandom has been making for a while is that Tim is forever stuck at 17. What if we make that something the rest of the Batclan notice too? (I am not following cannon.)

It was just after the annual Family picture day and the new group portrait was taking the place of last year’s and looking at it they noticed 15 year old Damian is now almost the same height as Tim. And Tim is pretty much the same as last year.

Jason and Damian take the opportunity to tease Tim calling him a shrimp and other short jokes. Which Tim rolls his eyes and goes to work on a case or something with Wayne industries. But Bruce, Dick, and Alfred are more concerned, may feel guilty thinking letting him be a vigilante stunted his growth. And looking back at the photos they have of him notice that he wasn’t growing as much as a normal teen boy should have.

Bruce decides he is going to be more active in running Wayne Enterprises while Alfred plots to cut back Tim’s coffee limit. And Dick is going to help out coordinate the patrols. (He had to move back to Gotham when the Bludhaven city spirit forced all the people out before the city got blown up. It’s a long story but dick has been really down and unmotivated after that.)

Tim is not taking any of this well, and feels like his family being stifling. So he decided to start going through the basement and vault of Drake manor. Which he has been putting off since he didn’t really have time for it between patrols and WE. And in the family heirlooms vault, shoved way in the back with covered in dust and many other things sitting on top, he finds an oak box with an ornately caved dragon on it. Opening it up he finds it is velvet lined and has a large pendant that looks a silver dragon curled deep violet amethyst egg. And next to the pendant is a scroll made of thin leather.

He pulled out the scroll first and tried to read it but it was too faint of lettering to make out in the somewhat dim vault light. But what little he could make out it it was really old 14th century English and mentioned something about a coming of age. He rolls it back up and puts it aside to instead pick up the pendant. When he touches it there is a faint static shock that surprises him other then that the silver and purple necklace doesn’t seem out of the ordinary.

His phone lets off a chime to remind him that diner is in an hour, so he pack the pendant and scroll back in the box and places it in his bag with a few other items he finds interesting and wanted to look into more later. Then returns to Wayne manor to eat before patrol. It isn’t until he wakes up the next morning he realizes that he should have probably read the scroll before touching the pendant.

He wakes up to knocking on his bedroom door and someone yelling at him to get up. He had gotten into the habit of locking his door back when Damian first moved in. He yelps in surprise, falling over because his center of balance is all out of whack when he tried to stand. Now he is fully awake and takes stock of himself.

Scales?

Scales! Why are his arms covered in scales?! His hands look like a mix of paws and talons. He struggles out of the sheets to look at the rest of himself. His pjs are stretched and torn in places to accommodate the new digigrade shape of his legs. Not to mention he now has a long tail and wings and a longer neck. He rushes to his personal bathroom and awkwardly stands up on his two legs so he can get a good look in the mirror. And yep that is a distressed dragon face looking back at him. He catches himself making a weird keening sound as he plops down to sit on the bathroom floor.

Moments later he hears the sound of his bedroom door’s lock being picked. Bruce calling his name and Duke explaining he had heard animal noises from the room. Tim scrabbles to try and get the balcony door unlocked so he can escape and find a way to change back before anyone can see him, but moving on all fours and the new talon hands he is not used too take up too much time and the bedroom door is open.

Living in a family of vigilantes, their reaction time and fight or flight instincts are quick, and Tim is tackled to the floor by Duke while the others start looking at every inch of the room for clues as to what happened to their seemingly missing brother.

Bruce is looking at the dragon in Tim’s pajamas for a second before saying, “Tim? Is that you chum?”

Tim tries to answer but all that comes out is a warbling chuff. Which takes Tim by surprise and has him nearly start to cry in panic. He can’t Talk!

“Hey, you’re ok Tim. Deep breaths. Duke get off him. Breath with me Tim. In 1, 2, 3, 4. Out 1, 2, 3, 4.” Bruce spoke in his soothing a scared child voice. Tim was half annoyed at himself for how much it helped.

“B, Look at this!” Dick said holding the box with the scroll and dragon pendent instead open. Now the gem is a very pale see through purple with only a sliver on the bottom the original color.

They take it down to the bat cave and get to work deciphering the scroll. Turns out the Drake family line are descendants of some ancient medieval prince named Aragorn and that there was a family tradition that on the sixteenth birthday the child would have to live a year in dragon form to let it catch up in maturity. But after the dragon form catches up they will be able to freely shift between forms. But if they don’t follow the tradition they don’t age properly, and the longer they put off the tradition the longer they have to spend as a dragon.

And that is all I had time for before bed. So who does this affect the family dynamic? What about the relationship between Tim and Damian? How do we bring Danny Phantom into this? Does he think Tim is a ghost dragon at first?

(the jason one is in reference to the fanon headcanon/au that Jason and Damian potentially knew each other and interacted while jason was in the league. I've thought about it before in context of this au, but haven't thought about it enough to feel inspired or motivated to make a post exploring the idea)

(diablito means, as you can guess, 'little devil'. while i'm neutral to latino jason, i think the nickname is cute as fuck and was danny's main nickname from Jason. i don't wanna touch that timeline so im not gonna decide how old they were when Jason was there.)

Skulker: i am the ghost zone's greatest hunter! i capture and hunt creatures both rare and dangerous. Danyal: a poacher?? you're a poacher?? you poach animals??Skulker:...i sense i've made a mistake of some kind.

anyways that was the day that Skulker cemented himself as Danny's no.1 opp, and still remains there to this day even if he and Vlad are both viciously fighting for second. Out of everyone in the the AP rogues gallery, Skulker will be the first to be thrown under the bus in terms of 'o shit here comes phantom fucking RUN'.

Jazz sat in the couch, with Dani chewing on a snack bar provided by Clark, her once ginger hair that drooy with a growing line of purple flicking like fire at the end.

The silence was short as Clark spoke, tied up in a chair with his hand and legs tied to the arms and legs of the chair.

"What happened here, Jazz-?" Clark said, concerned as Jazz shush him, rocking the fussy baby.

She look up to him with dead looking eyes and caution written all over her face.

"The GIW is what happened a year ago when Mom and Dad accepted danny after he revealed himself to them about being a halfa on his birthday, they wanted to tell you the news, but the power was out for weeks for some reasons... The town was arming together once the word spread about danny to overthrown GIW, who was sponsored by the government as they were getting out of hands, cutting out electricity and other people driving in to delivery food and water or let anyone out of their own homes.

"But it was a set up the moment they left one day, some of the town folks tried to leave town to get help, only to find bloodblossomed covered steel fences and an anti-ghost forcefield cover the town. The GIW supposedly told the government and the Justice League that the whole Amity Park was contaimnented with a virus that can revive the dead after giving false evidence video that Tucker used to scared them off months ago.

They had it almost all wrong, but Almost everyone were contaminated with ectoplasm due to the portal being open so long in the town and being in the Ghost Zone for too long after the Pariah King incident that everyone was liminal. Nobody could touch the fence that they build all the way under the town thanks to the wreaked area before or get past the force field.. except Mom, who slipped out easily to get help, saying that you can help us because there was no way you would allow this to happen... but

Clark could feel his heart drop to what Jazzy said next.

.. they got to her before calling your number, spoting her at the wrong time, dragging her body away while they talked about examining her inside as if she were not human in their eyes..." Jazz said, her voice quieten a bit, rubbing her moisten eye with Dani patting her leg softly.

"Danny and Team Phantom thought that if they go through the portal, they could get to Vlad’s manor, but his portal inactive.., so we thought of the next best thing was to defend ourselves before they could kill everyone else, too.." Jazz explained a bit sniff a bit, her hair intensifying darker purple as she got emotional. Clark could hear her heart skipping a bit.

"Danny led everyone because Amity Park town wasn't going down without a fight the moment the GIW brought their own army to take everyone out, some of our good friends and former enemies didnt make it, Mr. Lancer, Star, Technu, Dad.. Danny went feral at the point that he was literally tearing them apart despite more kept coming into the town.. this has been going for 1 year and 8 months now.

There was no food by the time half a year went by that Frostbite offered, giving everyone some food from the ghost zone, though it had side effects. Everyone was too hungry to care about the side effects. It was better than eating one another..

Jazz laughed a bit bitterly to herself as she continued on.

"There was few remaining these scums sneaking around Town afterward when we nearly busted the Fence hard enough with their own vehicles that most of them retreat for now with the force field deactivate, but they got Danny real good with one of Dad's old invention a few months ago, but then most of us escape and spread out into hiding, the A team, phantom Team stayed to destroy the any evidence of Ghost info in the lab before we leave today..." Jazz finished explaining before looking up at her Uncle Clark, her eyes looking dull greenish blue after she put danny back in the baby sling, gripping the Glowing Green fenton bat covered in spikes and dried blood. Her eyes glowing redder then a ruby.

"Now I have only one question for you. Why did Justice League ignore our calls for help despite our numerous emergency calls."

My less popular opinion (and what I believe to be implied by the art in Lost Days) is that rather than waking up in a fully grown body Jason didn’t actually complete his puberty until after his Lazarus pit dip while he was on his murder tour. Imagine you’re tied up in a basement in Berlin getting interrogated by a teenager and his voice is cracking the entire time and if you laugh he’s going to shoot you
