Can Iron man dick riders take 2 seconds to use critical thinking skills. "What if it was your parents" NO ONE IS BLAMING TONY'S REACTION BUT DO YOU SERIOUSLY JUST EXPECT STEVE TO SIT THERE AND LET IT HAPPEN??
He knows Bucky has been tortured and been through fucking hell for 70 YEARS, not to mention that is his best friend, you want him to just stand and fucking watch?? They didn't 'jump tony' tony attacked first and they went as far as they needed to aka disabling Tony's weapon, that being his suit.
It makes me think that people haven't watched CATWS BC Bucky is quite literally as innocent as they can get, he was stripped of all his autonomy. He had no choice over his actions, do I need to define mind control for some people?? Seriously.
I feel like I need to reiterate like 10 times over, No one is blaming Tony but you cannot possibly blame Steve for protecting Bucky because Bucky is a victim.

during the battle in germany, at the airport, peter runs into captain america. oh my god, it's captain america is all that's going through his head right now.
and then peter starts thinking about the psa videos.
while they're fighting, all he can think about are those god damn psa videos. peter knows he's getting distracted- maybe that's why he suddenly finds himself holding up a landing ramp, and captain america is about to throw a crate at him, and tony is about to tackle cap, and-
and all that comes out of peter's stupid mouth is, "so. you've got detention."
everything just. stops. steve freezes and unceremoniously drops the crate, the thud the only source of noise. his face looks like a cherry tomato. tony says, "what the fuck, roos? where did that, out of all things, come from?"
peter, traitor that he is, points at steve and hoarsely whispers, "his school psas."
nat's wheezing laughs are all that is heard over the comms.
next thing peter knows, the shield is coming at him, he's pathetically flying through the air, hitting the ground, and out like a light.
when the rogues come back to the compound, peter and steve can't look at eachother for a week.

Absolutely RANT about the sides in Captian America Civil War:
In CACW you have two teams:
Team Iron Man/Tony:
-Vision
-Rhodey
-Peter
-T'Challa
-Natasha
Team Captian America/Steve:
-Bucky
-Sam
-Wanda
-Scott
-Clint
Half of the 12 did not give a DAMN about the actual accords.
The ones who did:
Tony, Steve, Rhodey, Natasha, Vision, and Sam. They, at some point, cared about the accords.
In contrast, Bucky, Wanda, Scott, Clint, Peter and T'Challa did not care. They, minus Wanda, weren't even in the room when the accords were brought up.
Only Steve, Tony, Natasha, Vision, Wanda and Rhodey, aruged about them.
Now the motives, starting with team Tony:
Tony - the accords, he agreed to them
Rhodey - the accords, he also agreed with them
Natasha - agreed with the accords, literally saying, "If we still have one hand on the wheel, we can still steer"
Vision - agreed with the accords
T'Challa - Blamed Bucky for the death of his father, wanted revenge, and joined because Tony was fighting Steve who was with Bucky
Peter - Looked up to Tony, and was talked into this.
Now, Steve's side:
Steve - disagreed with the accords
Sam - disagreed with the accords
Wanda - disagreed with the accords as well but hated Tony more. She spent her youth hating him for the death of her parents, and didn't like that he had her confined to the facility
Clint - Held some guilt for what Pietro did for him and felt obligated to helping Wanda, and Renner said, "Cap was the first guy who called. Let's just get the job done so I can get home to the family. " On why Clint sided with Steve.
Scott - Looked up to Steve and Clint, on Steve's side, was the first guy who came to him.
Bucky - childhood friends with Steve, and Steve was trying to help him. Basically, Steve had his best interest and believed him about the other super soliders and about not killing T'Challa's dad.
Out of the 12 involved, only 6-7 fought over the accords. 7 depending on if Wanda was fighting over the accords or against Tony more. So let's say 6.5 as a solid number.
Peter and Scott were quite literally, first come, first serve. The guys they looked up to ask them to fight on their side.
T'Challa was fighting for revenge, and Wanda was on some level fighting out of anger towards Tony. Both were fighting because of a personal issue they had with someone on the other team.
Clint was both fighting because he felt like he owed it to Wanda and because Steve got to him first, similar to Scott and Peter.
Bucky, as said, was fighting because Steve is his friend. He trusted him the most, believed him, and was willing to help him with no strings attached. i.e., very personal reasons
This is to say, only about 50-54% of the people involved were actually fighting over the accords. That other 50-46% of the people, were fighting either because they were told to by someone they looked up to, or for a very personal reason.
I'm also typing this because I hate seeing those, "Steve had a ride or die team, and Tony had a group of people KINDA on the same page." No. It only appears that way because T'Challa was very personal and frankly didn't care who he was fighting with for most of the actual fight so long as he was fighting Bucky, and Natasha had a moment of conflict because she was close to both Steve and Tony and broke and helped Steve, she still agreed with Tony about the accords. She was just in between a rock and a hard place. She wasn't going to win regardless.
Idk, I love Civil War, and it's so interesting when you rip it apart and dissect it.

Reading an Avengers fic that is very good plot wise but is so clearly Team Iron Man and can’t even fathom the reasons Steve had in Civil War but still somehow characterizes him as a bootlicker. As if the entire plot of Civil War wasn’t him going against the government. Hello??? I’m not even 100% a team Cap person but how do you misconstrue a character so much

On Narrative Bias
I keep saying it annoys me how Wanda has done so many evil ass things and is never held accountable for her actions, and it never fails that someone tries to respond with “but aren’t you a loki stan? He’s done evil shit too! So you have a double standard and are a misogynist!!!!” Yeah, no. The difference is that you can clearly tell who the writers have predetermined as a hero vs a villain. You can tell who they want you to root for. Loki’s actions are given narrative consequences as harsh as possible, while Wanda’s are narratively excused and softened and sympathised. Let me show you what I mean.
* Loki commits treasons, tries to kill his brother & attempts genocide -> Loki’s father rejects him while he attempts suicide
* Loki tries to conquer earth -> Loki is sentenced to life in prison
* Loki incapacitates the king and secretly takes the throne -> Loki is threatened with a hammer to the face, we’re reminded how awful he is by all the other characters for the rest of the movie & he would’ve faced more consequences if the apocalypse hadn’t interrupted
* Loki steals the tesseract from the vault -> Loki watches his brother be tortured & then has his neck snapped
Now compare that to…
* Wanda willingly signs up to work for a nazi organisation, tries to help an evil robot murder the avengers, intentionally sets the hulk loose on a town of innocent people, & helps destroy Sokovia for a lil while -> Wanda gets a fatherly pep talk from Clint & is immediately accepted as an Avenger
* Wanda accidentally murders a bunch of people while on a mission -> Wanda is put on temporary house arrest in a giant mansion with her boyfriend
* Wanda buries her boyfriend/teammate under like 10 floors of concrete, breaks out of house arrest, & goes against a government order -> the leader of the superhero team defends her, a grown ass woman, by saying “She’s just a kid!”, she’s detained in a government prison for like a week maybe (?) during which she’s shown as a sad helpless victim to encourage sympathy from viewers, & then she gets busted out by the ex-team leader & eventually gets to run off to Scotland with her boyfriend
* Wanda holds an entire town hostage & tortures them just to fulfil her own grief-fuelled fantasy -> one of the women Wanda attacked reassures her that she’s the actual victim in all this and that the people she tortured just have no idea what she’s sacrificed for them & she escapes to an isolated location to read a forbidden demon book and make herself more powerful without anyone interfering
* Wanda goes on a serial killing spree across the multiverse, kidnaps a child, holds her hostage, tortures her, & attempts to take her powers all so she can steal another Wanda’s children because she misses her children that were never actually real in the first place -> Wanda gets some badass power sequences and #girlboss one liners, is the one that destroys the demon book, essentially saving the multiverse from future corruption, & is allowed to die a hero’s death (which we all know isn’t permanent)
See the difference?

Ok this might be such a random stupid take but I just noticed that post-catws we literally never see Steve and Natasha touch each other at all
Like in catws he’s literally grabbing her and carrying her around in battle and pushing her up against a wall and holding her up when she’s injured and she’s throwing herself into his lap to avoid gunfire and kissing him on the cheek and kissing him (!!!!) to act like a couple to blend in while they’re undercover
They’re shown to be very comfortable/not shy about touching each other (especially in a fight) so idk now that I’ve noticed it the lack of *any* physical contact between them in the other movies it kinda feels like we’re seeing a really restrained version of them from then on
I mean tell me if I’m wrong but I think the closest thing we get post-catws is them sharing the shield back and forth in aou even tho that’s not really the same thing (they were just too powerful a duo I guess lol)
Idk if this was intentional (maybe after catws they thought having them touch at all would feel too charged or something bc they saw the same chemistry that rest of us did lol) but at this point I’m kinda just laughing picturing the directors running around like chaperones at a middle school dance on all the sets screaming at Chris and Scarlett to get away from each other lmao
Ok edit I posted this and immediately remembered that hug in cacw but my point still stands bc that’s literally the only exception lol

this come up every 3-5 business months and we have to keep telling y'all grown adults that y'all are wrong
Hi I am here to remind you that tony stark was not in the right in captian America civil war and not to bring real world politics in to it but by now I'd think we'd seeing how utterly useless the un is. If Tony had cared at all to stick by the accords or if they had any repercussions at all he would’ve had to wait and go to the un and petition the un to say that there are fucking aliens attacking earth then ask them if he could stop then wait for their answer. But he doesn’t even have respect for the thing that he had a hand in making instead he played the victim and took no accountability in his part and said the avengers broke up and then said that’s why my idea for the shield around the earth was a great idea. The accords were abysmal and Tony wrote him a way out while the other members of the avengers either had to sign or retire he wrote into the accord that he was exempt so ofc he was going to peddle that thing he was going to face nothing. The only reason he was doing this was because an American mother made him feel guilty he didn’t feel guilty for the town of ppl whose were ruin he didn’t feel guilty abt Wanda’s brother and she was sleeping in avengers tower he got to see her more often then that singular woman. Tony broke the accords like 3 separate times and you want me to be on his side. Don’t get me started on Peter because y’all irondad fans are weird. Y’all want me to see the guy who canonically kidnapped a kid peter was 14 in cacw he didn’t have a passport until homecoming and Tony withheld any information from Peter so that he couldn’t make an informed decision on what happened and what team he would want to be on and Tony took a 14 year old Peter to Germany under false pretense to fight a fight that he had no business being in without informing his legal guardian that is the textbook definition kidnapping. Ppl can say team cap is wrong all they want but at least their team stayed together and respects ppls consent. Why would cap trust the un when just the last movie it was exposed that hydra was in the government. I truly believe that ppl who are team iron man throws out all logic because “bucky killed his parents” even though he was brainwashed and they beat his ass even though he started it that man is grown grown if he didn’t want to lose a fight he shouldn’t have started it. He didn’t even like his father yall get on Peter quil’s ass for his emotional reaction but that was a fucking emotional reaction and he got his ass beat. I’m sorry but his ego got him thinking he could take out Bucky Barnes who was formerly the winter soldier with his friends right next to him and thought Steve wasn’t going to do nothing. And to dispel this misconception Steve and Tony weren’t friends they were barely co workers they tolerated each other

love love LOVE watching captain america civil war and seeing tony do soooo much to try to convince steve and then apprehend him like anything’s gonna fucking stop that guy from getting his man!!! tony something you have to understand about steve rogers is that he’s been both unstoppable force and immovable object since long before that serum turned him into a brick shithouse! all erskine did was manifest what was already there in spirit and right now he’s got his sights SET on saving bucky. by calling in your reinforcements you’re just increasing the cost, because he will pay ANY price to protect bucky and he WILL succeed because he simply won’t stop until he does. i’m cackling this bitch has no idea
