So I've got paragraphs of me summarizing entire VODs of QSMP days to my friends on Discord... what if I posted those?

(Events may be inaccurate as I was pretty much reacting live in text form but I eventually refine my word vomit to kinda like a written version of the VOD my friends could read and still know what's going on)

Update

For those who do not have the patreon, Grizzly released an update video on the status of Riptide. He spoke about working with a writing coach named Mariana (not qsmp) who is helping him with diverse characters, sensitivity checks, and world building.

When Riptide returns Grizzly said they were going to run Jay’s solo session first. He also teased the possibility of upping the quality by using maps and getting together more however it would most likely just stay as it was. They also spoke about bonus material like a recap however that would not come out for a while.

The release date of Riptide has also changed due to behind the scenes complications and to make way for wonderlust. It is said that it is looking more towards early August when recordings and uploads would start again.

In the meantime there are some things you can look forward to to fill that Riptide shaped hole in your heart. The first being Wonderlust. Wonderlust is a new JRWI campaign that is run by Bizly. It’s out and free to watch on youtube and spotify. Another patreon exclusive is a short campaign run by Grizzly featuring Milo Mumbles in place of Charlie as he is busy. If you don’t know Milo she ran a channel with Bizly called Spittake and whether or not you can watch Spittake to see some funny Bebo moments and get to see Milo absolutely dunk on said Bebo. Another lesser known campaign Grizzly didn’t mention is he is in the midst of a non-JRWI called Shadows Over Welde which is streamed live on twitch channel AlphaAniki. It is run by Jonah Scott the person who played Ichabod as a guest character a while back. It already has a few episodes released and for those interested Grizzly plays a representative of the reformed church of lolth called Zephrael so if you like religious themes I would definitely recommend checking it out.

In terms of this blog, as there is no confirmed date I am going to move the timers to continually be moving the timer back later and later, based on speculation, until we get a confirmed date so the date is not completely accurate and more of a way to see how much time has passed.

Don’t worry I miss Riptide too. But it ain’t lastin forever.

Due to the incredibly positive feedback towards the creation of this account and the number of people who indicated their interest in being a mod for it, I’ve decided to move forward with this project!

MCYT on Ao3 - May '24

It's that time! It's the time for numbers! I am stitching this in around meeting I have to to do today! Let's look at some spreadsheets.

Some Notes:

Two new fandoms this month! SDMP | Sleep Deprived SMP and SkyBound SMP were both new. And after being added last month, Aimsey SMP had a very good month, posting almost the highest grown in the small and micro fandoms, 18 fics.

Fics are still primarily in english, but we have three exceptions with significant spanish fics. Karmaland (779 of 896 are in spanish, from 764 last month), Tortillaland (113 of 119 are in spanish, from 110 last month), and QSMP (992 of 9,359 are in spanish, from 925 last month.)

QSMP also shows 48 fics in French, same as last month, and 519 in Brasilian Portugese, up from 463 last month. While I did not check every language this month, I checked on the languages I knew had a fic in QSMP and we see 1 fic in Bahasa Malaysia, 1 fic in Dansk (Danish), 2 fic in Deutsch (German), 1 fic in Esperanto, 1 fic in Filipino, 5 works in European Portugese, 2 fics in Polski (Polish), 9 fics in Русский (Russian) (up from 7 last month), 1 fic in Suomi (Finnish), 1 fic in Svenska (Swedish), 1 fic in Tiếng Việt (Vietnamese), and 4 fics in 中文-普通话 國語 (Mandarin Chinese, I believe). While several 한국어 (Korean) speakers were recently added to the QSMP, there are currently no fics in 한글 (written Korean).

In the small and micro fandoms, HBG finally stabilized after several months of fluctuations, showing an increase of 1. The standouts were Aimsey SMP, with 18 new fics (possibly connected to the finale), and SOS SMP, with 19 new fics. Notably, there were no negatives this month!

In the mid-sized fandoms, Evolution SMP posted another good month, going up by 27 fics, but the standout continued to be Mystreet, with 37 fics.

In the larger fandoms, we saw things sort of stabilize into what I presume is the new normal, with most fandoms posting similar numbers to the previous month. Dream SMP saw an increase of 224 fics, which seems more reasonable for a fandom of that size than last month's 113, but is still beat three of the fandoms over 5k, and again, is far below February's 591 and January's 918. QSMP posted only slightly lower numbers than last month, 421 this month in contrast to last month's 443. (Again, much reduced from February's high of 729, when they were the highest overall MCYT fandom). Empires increase of 144 was lower than the previous month's 151, but still beat the previous month's 142. 3rd life, decreasing from the high of their April Fools instalment, posted 471 fics, lower than the previous month's 553 but more than the previous month's 398. And Hermitcraft's 648 was the highest single MCYT increase, though it was lower tha the previous month's 805 and the month before's 628. The top three fandoms by increase were Hermitcraft, 3rd Life, and QSMP.

Minecraft STILL posted a deletion, as they went down by 49, but that was less than the previous month's 217, and the month before's 1,555. Video Blogging RPF saw an increase overall of 2,511, which beats the previous month's 2,330, but is down from the increase this time last year, 3,768.

I don't particularly care about the current argument over the union, it's pure distraction to shift the discussion away from the actual problems, as if anyone here actually cares about the union and not just what the union can possibly facilitate

But I do care about the employees and former employees of QSMP and they deserve respect and dignity and credit, not slander or vague passive-aggressive accusations

Which I've unfortunately seen even from people I know and care about, even people I follow or used to follow here on Tumblr, even people I consider friends

So, I feel like I should just be honest here, idk how I'm gonna handle this diplomatically in order not to burn too many bridges unnecessarily, because I don't actually want to lose people over this, but I do also have principles

I had no animosity towards Quackity before this, I hope you can see that from my blog history; I've never been a cc!Quackity hater. Unfortunately at this point I do need to see him do better than this, because his employees and former employees deserve better

If he does actually try to make it all up for them, if he actually talks to them with respect and a willingness to listen to their concerns and their experiences, then I have no more beef with him

I don't think he's a bad person, but he is doing a bad thing

Only problem is, we often stay up late wagging our fists at a half-finished document, cursing the fact that writing is hard, life is busy and there's just not enough time in the day to sit down and make a good fic. So, what is a drabble?  A drabble is a written work made up of exactly 100 words. Typically viewed as a challenge, drabbles are often meant to test a writer’s skill in brevity, seeing how efficiently they can communicate emotions or ideas through such tight restrictions. For this event, we are using this unique format to bring the joy of MCYT into the world! Think, how would a lighthearted interaction between Tubbo and Tommy play out? How many insults could Grian hurl at Jimmy? How much emotion can you squeeze out of QSMP Jaiden if you’ve only got her in your little writer hands for 100 words? For this event, we encourage you to be creative, try some new things, and most importantly, have fun!   (To get a feel of what you’re working with, keep in mind that the previous paragraph has a word count of 120, twenty words over your limit!)

Are violent/triggering topics allowed? As MCYT content can often include violence, character death, murder games, and other such themes, we do allow them. However those are opt-in - if your giftee hasn’t asked for it, then don’t write it. If you do end up writing about these topics, make sure to tag appropriately! 

What if I can’t finish on time? Contact us on this blog as soon as possible! A pinch hit will be sent out, and your giftee will be reassigned. If you do endup requesting a pinch hit, you will still get your own gift!

How will the matches be made? After the sign ups are done, the event mods will match everyone to ensure everyone gets to write what they signed up for! Once matches are made, you will receive your assignment via Tumblr DMs.

Can I make more than one gift? Of course! As long as it complies with your giftee’s requests you’re welcome to write as many drabbles as your heart desires!

This is just me but something I was a bit worried about for a while is that there might be some bitterness between the Dream fans and other people in the mcyt fandom. Like I get it, some of the people there were awful and did whole harassment campaigns. But…I don’t know sometimes I go to some blog and find a bitter post about a qsmp or some of the mcyt people and o get a bit worried that some might lash out against them. Like yeah they’re not perfect and I get why they’re angry. But sometimes I worried that some people might take it too far and end up doing the same as the antis. sorry if it dont makes sense but this is just me

I mean, you've got to understand that we went through over a year of not just false accusations (which people still spread despite being disproven and despite understanding how terrible false accusations are especially after recent events) but through absolutely awful harassment that hasn't stopped.

there's lies that are spread (dream had airhorns playing during the 'uieud' video?? which did not happen), people supporting not just assault but ableism, homophobia, and antisemitism solely because the 'other side' was dream, and people making posts in mcytblr spheres talking about how dteam fans should die.

and then as an ojibwe person who was watching the qsmp, it was awful and disappointing to see that all go down and to feel genuinely scared and unheard when voicing my feelings on it. and that's just one event, that's not counting being forced to leave discord servers or feeling unwelcome in them.

i don't know how to explain how bad it is. just recently a large mcyt blog made a post about chasing off dream fans:

if there's bitterness, trust me, we'd rather there not be! we'd love to just be able to exist but it's not possible half the time.

things are getting better but man. i lost friends for venting about being harassed because they were more focused on how i was venting.

none of us want this. every single person i know would love for it to go back to how it was.

and i get what you're saying. i do think people take it too far sometimes. i'm absolutely against that kind of thing. i do understand, though, how deeply hurt people are. and i think there's a level of hypocrisy that happens where it's okay to lash out at and make pretty awful jokes about dream and his fans and when one of his fans calls something out, it becomes 'petty fandom drama'. like getting my concerns about racism on a server i was actively watching (and still do for people like niki) dismissed as 'well you don't like the server because you're a dream fan so of course' sucked. or people making jokes about death threats, stalking, and SA threats being called out becomes drama, y'know?

basically, i don't know man. it sucks. i had to change my phone number. i had threats made against my kids and pets. and a lot of it was dismissed so i'm not surprised there's bitterness. people were deeply hurt. people are upset at some of the hypocrisy shown (it's okay for this cc to do xyz but things from years ago are still brought up re: dream).

which means, yeah, sometimes they do take it too far and i don't like it and i think it's become this very toxic cycle that's probably never gonna stop until people just. leave things alone, y'know?

and stop thinking there's an 'acceptable' target for harassment because there's not.

i know you get it, though, and i appreciate that. i really wish other people would be as understanding.

Having a famous content creator for a brother was interesting, to say the least. Constant screaming from the other room, cameras shoved in your face, your own name trending on Twitter. And of course the infamous nickname; slime-sib. It was possibly the dumbest thing, but it wasn’t the worst, besides what else would they call you? You were Slimecicle’s sibling!

Being his younger sibling had its ups and downs, growing up with a free at home comedian, constantly having something to watch on YouTube. And of course new friends.

When he was on the DSMP you knew some of his friends, such as Tommy, Wilbur, Phil. You never spoke to them outside of Charlie’s streams, but they were extremely nice to you either way. When he met up with Tommy, you were there. The QSMP, you knew some of them, but struggled to communicate because of language barriers outside of the server.

There was one friend that always stood out to you though, Ted. Ever since he had introduced you two, you grew practically inseparable. Ted quickly became your closest friends, spoke about you on the podcast, and would honestly talk about you more than Charlie ever did.

Charlie was aware of the fact that you and Ted were so close, he would even make sure to tease the both of you as much as possible. Whether it was calling you two partners, taking secret pictures and acting like you were on a date, or straight up posting about how you two were dating. Even though you weren’t.

It had been around two years since you guys first met, and honestly, it felt more like it’s been two years since you had gotten together.

Everyone treated you like a couple, even random strangers who saw you in public!

If you happened to go to a restaurant together, with Charlie, the two of you were treated like you were dating. If you were just out shopping, you could get a random comment about being a cute couple. The two of you were quick to deny these claims, but there was always the same comments every single time.

“You know, it’s so annoying lately.” You sighed and looked up at Ted, who was currently walking you home. “What is?” He chuckled softly, his arm wrapping around your shoulders.

“The constant looks! That old lady in the store asked when you were proposing, Ted. Can people not be just friends anymore?” You sighed as you made your way onto your porch, grabbing your keys from your pocket and turned to look at him. “I mean.. you get where I’m coming from, right?”

He was hesitant for a second, sighing under his breath and shrugged. Now, it was no lie that Ted had gained feelings for you. It was quite obvious at this point; but you were oblivious.

“Yeah, but— do friends look at each other like this?” His voice had gotten quiet, furrowing his brows as he moved his arm from around your shoulders. “What do you mean?”

He got caught up with his words, his hands moving around a bit as he struggled to think. “I just.. Y/N, listen.” He sighed and placed his hands on your shoulders, looking down at you with a more serious expression.

“We look at each other like we’re a couple, we hold hands, we cuddle on the couch, we go on practical dates. And you’re trying to tell me that you don’t feel the same way?” He had leaned down a bit closer to you, your lips merely inches apart as his gaze diverted down to them.

Was he being serious? Did he actually feel that way? “Never said I didn’t.” You spoke quietly, your gaze doing the same as his and went down to his lips.

Within a moment he quickly kissed you, his hands going down to gently hold your sides. Your own found their way to the sides of his face, smiling into the kiss as you leaned into it. It only lasted a few moments, before he pulled away and smiled at you.

“Can I spend the night? In a totally friendly way?” His tone teased you, earning an eye roll and a nod.

“Yeah, yeah. You can in a totally friendly way.”

Absolutely astonishing to me that I lose followers every time I post in support of the QSMP's admins, both former and current. But, well, if you hate me supporting them, then I don't want you on my blog, anyway. I've been on the admins' side since the beginning, I haven't watched the QSMP since March, and I will continue supporting them because they deserve the support!! i wanted to do my own (much smaller lmao) version of the love letter to qsmpblr that everyones been doing

i took a massive break from twitch for a while from 2022-late 2023 so i didn't join the qsmp at the beginning. the first streams i caught were from purgatory 1 and you can guess how confusing that was lol. soulfire was my introduction to the qsmp which i guess is kind of poetic because thats mostly who i stuck with to this day.

tubbo has been my favorite guy to post about for the past couple months and as a tubbling since 2021 ill be continuing to follow him wherever he goes. ive been following charlie even longer so you can be sure ill be sticking with him too <3

i didn't start posting about qsmp for a while because at the time i was a purely dc comics focused blog so my first ever post tagged qsmp comes from december 26th 2023. so i havent been here as long as a lot of others rehbdsk

BUT even though i havent been here too long, i still have so so many positive experiences and i wanna acknowledge some key people who have made it super fun for me here

Hiiii..... I'm thinking of possibly making a seperate account to post qsmp stuff on and keep this one mostly for reposting (sometimes drawing) hc stuff. I've fallen out of that fixation rn, so sorry to everyone who liked the comic and otherwise my hc stuff. :((
