my secret confession is i think a lot of current art in comics is pretty but sometimes way too glossy and lifeless... it kinda feels like a sticker sheet where they just swap out generic stock poses that they have on hand for that character rather than the art being reflective of the actual story and moment the character is currently in

#does this make sense #like its generic 'heres this character with a hand on their hip. this is their idle position. their arms are stiffly raised now to talk.#theyre back to their idle pose (2nd version). heres them suddenly springing to life (aka arms over head as they fly abruptly and stiffly).#they land the exact same way everytime regardless of where theyre at (fist clenched by their sides)'#like it feels like different poses you can alternate between in a dress up game rather than being present in the story #wheres the expressions! the body language! the moment! the way they differently carry themselves!#i know im biased for older styles but :// idk it sometimes feels lifeless in a sense #but im not an artist so. cant complain too much. gorgeous art but it's like you can see where capitalism and demand to be sellable #kills any creative input or fun twist that makes that artist or that arc remarkable and rememberable #but whatever.... 70s and 80s comics save me.....#ransom note

I think every artist needs to experience the sheer rage of learning how wrong you were about something and exactly where you went wrong. As weird as it sounds, it's grounding and can be really awe-inspiring after you're done being pissed off. It reminds me that there is so much in this world I don't know, that I need to turn every stone, or I will feel my brain peeling itself with longing

so many people upset with this new season. i must be a simple mind.

#this is about arcane obviously but i don’t feel like tagging sorry #sure they could have done more but idk what more people want #the art was fucking gorgeous and i think the story made sense #not everyone gets a happy ending #which is realistic even if sad #idk maybe i enjoy tragedy…i definitely think more about what went wrong than what went right (in a positive way)#i walked away from that show in shambles #and i keep playing ma meilleure ennemie on repeat like a loser #i had a good time and appreciate all the work and love people put into making it something for me to consume and lose my mind over #🤷

Spük has been with my blog almost since its inception! They were one of the first people to follow me and I'm honestly blessed that they stuck around for this long! They bring such peace of mind to my otherwise anxious self, and they are extremely friendly and kind. I love learning about their chickens, hearing about their daily activities and sharing art/memes! He is the cause of a lot of laughs and my recent surge in confidence upon writing Robin, I haven't told them this but their encouragement means the world to me, and I hope I can keep their friendship for a long time. As for their blog HOLY SHIT? OKAY--SO. I'm barely able to handle 2 muses and Spük just "yeah sure 20+ muses with like 10 verses each from 15 different fandoms? piece of cake"?!?!?! Their ability to psychoanalyze so many characters and get them all accurate is just so so amazing to me? NOT ONLY THAT-THEY'RE AN ARTIST TOO! Their designs for Flight Rising, their ocs, and their pin up art is so refreshing to see, and really inspiring to me. I've always been interested in pinup art and just seeing their work is a quiet whisper of "hey! you can do it!" and its so so nice.

Also, they were the person who made me feel extremely safe in exploring new forms of RP--they're very casual, sweet, and most importantly they ACTIVELY work to make me feel safe and heard. I have never once worried about annoying them because they're so quick to encourage. They are AWESOME in more ways than one! I can't recommend them enough!
