#porygon are fun

If Porygons are made of computer code, how do they exist in the physical world? Also, how did Silph Co make them and for what purpose?

Well, that's the mystery. We don't have an exact answer as to how they were made or why. The official report is that they were accidently discovered while researching pokemon in the PC.

My porygon, Skip, is part of the early generation of Porygon, and my good friend @alexanders-pokemon-adventure had looked over his programming and found a lot of leftover files and such.

It didn't really reveal their origins, but it did show that early versions were comprised of leftover and incomplete data.

To be honest, I'm not a computer expert, but from what I have learned from having Skip, they seemed to be created from the early evolution of technology and pokemon storage.

Sometimes, things are made intentionally, and other times, they just happen and work out well.

People have agreed that Porygon 2 is the true, completed form, but I love Skip just the way he is, Glitches and all, and he's perfectly happy, too.

Sometimes, you might not get an answer to a big question, and you might just need to accept that you might need to accept that, but talking to a real technician could give you better answers.

I'm always happy to talk about Porygon either way!

I have a little habit of picking from Traits I think are Fun and applying them to Self Inserts I think are a little bland, and for my Sun and Moon S/I this became "Inexplicably hated by animals" which is a very unfortunate trait to have in the Pokemon World.

[Gray sits in his usual spot with Zagreus in his lap, resting against Andi. He's holding his phone in his hand, just... staring at the screen. You can't make out what he's looking at but he seems... scared, almost.]

[After what feels like an eternity of internal deliberation, he takes a deep breath and shakily taps it, holding the phone to his ear.]

[...]

Hey.

[The male voice that comes out is... actually somewhat similar to Gray's. He closes his eyes at it, and he responds, barely above a whisper.]

Hey, Lou.

...

...

...Lou, I-

No.

[Gray flinches at the interruption, curling in slightly on himself. He looks almost like he's going to cry.]

Don't apologize.

[Gray freezes, but slowly let's himself untense while his bother speaks.]

We both know you hate making people worry. I don't blame you for not reaching out. That's just not what you do.

But I'll admit I was a little scared. You've never really... broken down like that before. Mom and Dad were struggling. I was too, a bit.

But Ducky showed us everything everyone you made friends with immediately jump to help you. And now you're almost better. I can tell.

...heh. I'm... not great at this, but...

You're one of my best friends. I can't wait to have you back.

We're gonna meet up soon after this, okay?

[Gray chokes back a sob, a smile making its way across his face.]

Y-yeah. Okay.

[A huff of laughter can be heard from the other side of the phone, but it's followed by a sniffle too.]

...I love you. You know that, right?

[Gray nods, even if they can't see each other.]

...I-I do. I love you too, brub.

I love you guys so much.

[Everything goes white.]

Meet Skip!

An early generation Porygon that has become integral to Rai's team and just as beloved as well.

The 3rd to join, Skip has a very playful personality. He loves sampling sound effects and remixing them back at people and diving into technology he's not supposed to.

This shiny computer fiend is not always the sharpest tool, but he is one of the most energetic.

He got his name due to the fact that a lot of his files were corrupted or missing important data, and after a diagnostic, most of his programs were patched, save for his speech driver which leads him to talk in a Skipping way, much like a CD trying to play when scratched.

This doesn't seem to hinder him, and while some of his attacks are also corrupted, he's still a vital part of Rai's team and is able to help with long range communication and delivery of emergency supplies when needed. Think like a digital supply runner.

Professionals have told Rai that most of his problems should clear up if he evolved, but Skip doesn't seem to mind the way he is, and Rai wants his partners to be happy with themselves.
