We rewatched Pork Pie recently on the Deano fans discord server, so we sent in another Cameo request. (We are relentless. LOL)

This was the message: "Pork Pie they used stuntmen but was you in the closeups-how many actual stunts did you do? Almost hit by the mini at the beginning; In casket on top of the car; Car on fire and you rolled onto the ground. Did we miss any? Scary moments? Close calls?"

I'm watching Pork Pie and it is INCREDIBLE! (I know I've waited very long to watch it, seven years) I'm only like eights minutes in, but I encourage everyone to see it. The music, the acting from Dean O'Gorman, it's produced by Tom Hern, Antonia Prebble and Siobhan Marshall is in it!

I was in my local supermarket, except it had twice as many aisles as usual so it was all really packed. I wanted to eat a new pork pie but I didn't want to pay for it because I knew it would give me stomach pains (can't eat meat) and while I was OK with getting stomach pains for the delicious taste of a Harissa spiced pork pie, I drew the line at paying money for the experience. I then hit on a genius solution; I would open the pie in the supermarket, eat it there while hiding from the staff, and avoid paying by simply waking up.

Anyway, that's the story of why I woke up in the middle of the night last night.

DFP Familiar Faces: James Rolleston

NZ actors tend to end up in a lot of the same shows over the years it seems. I have a lot of fun spotting familiar faces, so I thought this would be a fun and silly little project, seeing which actors have repeatedly been in things that Deano was also in (not necessarily alongside). Just a bit of trivia. Enjoy!

Dean played Nurse Harry Martin in 1996. James played Kawe Osborne in 2018.

Pork Pie (2017)

Dean played Jon. James played Luke Anahera.

Golden Boy (2019-2020/2019-2020)

Dean played Aussie Dave in all 16 episodes. James played Tama in all 16 episodes.

My mom brought home pork pies from the British grocery store and I thought they’d be pork with gravy and onions and vegetables but it’s just like…… pastry wrapped around a big meatball?

Tasty, though. Dense. I did get out the ketchup halfway through—is it evil to put ketchup on a meat pie? It never occurred to me with other savory pies.

@awkward-with-a-big-heart thank you so much for the pie crust recipe! I made a pork pie for dinner and then re-did the raspberry hand pies which turned out so much better! (And some open faced strawberry ones). My husband ate over half the pie so you also have his approval :)
