BALDUR'S GATE 3 OC LINEUP; this is a glorified tag dump post for my idiots thus far. may get updated in the future with other ocs & if so it will be reblogged to showcase those changes. under the cut will be basic character introductions & they will be in order.
Rylla: wizard spell sword, high elf, genderless( all pronouns ) bisexual, neutralish, 27yo everyone laugh at the youngest member of the party haha
Rylls is my main "Tav" which is the player character. full name: Idrylla Rhea Dhwani Crisanta. they are unmotivated, burntout, tired, & p much going thru the motions. she's the eldest out of like 7 and the first in like a generation or two of elves in her family to be magically inclined so his parents rlly pushed for parentification as a help w/ the kids since her family are fishing merchants, but got sent to study at a wizarding guild schoolesc thing in Baldur's Gate where the fam is from all around. pushed to be the top of their class and the like first apprentice to the head wizard he got framed for attempted murder by a jealous rival and got tossed in jail with a two day pardon to run home and grab a journal that would prove her innocence only to find out her fiance, now ex fiance, had been cheating on them and threw out all their stuff hearing rylla was in jail and was like OH LOL WHOOPS on the way to the dump is when this jackass got abducted by mind flayers like u cant have a more worse day than rylla bc the next day was allso when he had to pay his mortgage taxes so like all that and u still gotta pay bills anyways everyone in camp wants them carnally but rylla does not romance anyone, however he does have a connection with gale that is strictly platonic. rylla is a prodigy & a spell sword
Frye: warrior, mesophlieseses tiefling, he/him cismale home of sexual, somewhat lawful good. or at least he tries, 87yo
Frye Ravensworn is from Baldur's Gate, a oathbroken paladin former flaming fist. after an accident that cost the lives of several innocents he lost faith in the order & left, turning to a life of mercenary work. after feeling as if he wasn't making any difference he "retired" to establish a popular tavern known as The Devil's Fyre( pronounced fire unlike his name Fry-ee bc hehe get it he thinks hes hilarious ) anyways he's Rylla's best friend they have been pals for ages and she usually comes to him when they need to bitch about their life. he does enjoy being a bartender and listening to others rather than being constantly asked about stories of his own adventures. it's rylla that makes him feel as he did when he was younger, having a purpose reigniting that love for life & hope in people once more so when Rylla was taken by mind flayers he picked his sword back up and closed the tavern to set out to find rylla's stupid ass knowing the next time he sees them they could be a mind flayer but at least rylla would die by a friends hand. it's in act 2 we find Frye, at the last light inn helping the harpers & flaming fist protect the tieflings from the shadows. upon seeing rylla he scoops her up & squeezes him so tight one could swear their bones popped. Frye serves as a paladin option to recruit like how mi/thara is, but for like the ~good~ route basically. Frye romances W/yll !
Carnation: druid with a class i made up called underdark druid its got bits of spore shadow sprinkled in but she can grow n manipulate crystals ! bc they are the fauna of the underdark :), auvryrahel drow, she/her cisfemale, violencesexual, evil. fucking evil. dark urge( editors note: this will change no more bhaalspawn but born of a different more fucked up god mayhaps :) ) !, 134yo
a hot pink bitch named breakfast. our favorite cult leader. last name Vasiira. raised in the underdark with a small clan of underdark-druids deep under the earth while i forgot to add her mom to this screencap dump, Momma'Nation, Trielthrae was one of the many exiled loth-drow that formed this little village of which the clan of druids lived, wanting to change the stars of her peers & sick of loth's rule--- she beseeches the gods to grant her a child that would be blessed in their light, to become a holy savior & change the world for her, her village, for the drow, & for everyone. bhaal [ GOD goes here ] read that text & answered, requiring a unholy communion of which Trielthrae gladly gave leaving her with a miraculous pregnancy. enter our little anti-christ, our cute little princess. our beautiful Carnation who was beloved & welcomed by the village with open arms. she wants power, she wants fame, she wants clothes, she wants devotion. the village quickly & completely submitted to her whims wants & needs. bhaal lends her some of his grand power, as technically she is a bhaal spawn. its just complicated. SHES A DEMI-GOD BY BIRTHRIGHT I JUST GOTTA LATER GO FIGURE OUT WHAT GOD ANSWERED HER MOM man loth is pissed about this btw lol mind flayers took her from the shores of the dark lake, this is the first time she has been outside of the underdark & once she saw the night sky at camp she wept in it's beauty. she romances as/tarion, ascendant. he sees her as a equal as she denies bhaal, stealing his power for herself & manipulates the nether brain for her own gain becoming akin to a god. keeping old shit as reference but ew lame heres the new stuff: SHE IS MANIPULATING HIM. as a demi-god shes already capable of doing fucked up shit as is however she plans to kill &/or eat a god to gain its power to become fully divine & having a powerful vampire as a minion in addition to her cult is good, she also manipulates gale to bring her that funny crown & study how to harness it with the guide she supports his journey when its for her benefit not his. she will not end her conquest until she becomes a god wholly. auvryrahel is the name of the specific village / noble house that makes up carnation's cult.
Luella: cleric, but its complicated :), auvryrahel half-drow, she/her bisexual cisfemale, her morality is whatever carnation wants, ageless
undead half-drow handmaiden to Carnation Vasiira. she acts as a nanny, a nurse, a sister, a caregiver, a friend, a confidant, & a puppet. raised from death by Carnation's mother when her daughter was only but six years old via a powerful spell that grants this undead what's left of her fractured soul & a lifespan that allows her to live as long as Carnation wills her to, Luella is devoted completely to her charge. she lives, literally, only to serve her mistress--- having left the underdark in search of her beloved flower when Carnation goes missing after a rare nautiloid sighting near the dark lakes.
G'waine: kith'rak ranger, githyanki, she/they nonbinary lesbian, chaotic good but the good is like for the good of the githyanki not you. fuck you as far as she's concerned, 38yo
UTENA COMPLEX, PRINCE OF THE CRECHE. kith'rak g'waine, a captain of her creche boldly named draa'zvir--- dragon's breath. a warrior of fine make & groom, the pride n joy of her creche the youngest to make captain in it's long history. a skilled warrior, a even better strategist she is calm collected but never cold. a proper leader in the making to eventually take over creche draa'zvir or would have if not captured by mind flayers during the chase of the nautaloid alongside lae'zel, attempting to strike down mind flayers at they attacked other gith. because of this word returned of her capture to her creche & they moved to mourn her as if she were already dead. the fallen dragon prince & the tale of noble, but foolish, sacrifice to save her gith comrades and kill the ghaik invaders. has a bit of a resemblance to a frog & was teased as a child as 'the frog prince' until her merits outshined all her sought to demean her. also she killed them as is her right. romances lae'zel & has a hellva complicated time about the whole orpheus thing. voss knows g'waine, actually a lot of the creche u visit knows them too.
THEODORA theythem red wizard of thay more info to come

the new hbomberguy video reminded me of the time that me / danganronpa wiki got badly plagiarised lol. essentially at the time, 99% of the danganronpa v3 main page was written by me (as I was one of the main active mods of the site at the time), using information from the japanese version of the game based on mostly japanese articles and Lets Plays of the japanese game by english streamers, with translated names for all the new post-game bonus modes (of which v3 has many). these translated names and other new jp-only features were either by me directly or by other members of the fandom to help explain the new concepts, but were obviously fan translated versions of terminology and not official and so almost unique to this page since translation from japanese involves a lot of personal interpretation. danganronpa is a series that has a fuckton of pop culture references in it that don't always translate well to english, particularly in the more off-beat and comedic parts of the games, and so typically the official translations are very different to the japanese terms and names for things - and the bonus modes themselves have extremely goofy names that don't translate well. our wiki policy is that all fan translated content has a large, highlighted heading that signposts that it includes fan translated content, and a link to the original translator's socials or wiki profile.
when v3 was finally released in english 9 months later i was keeping a close eye on review scores and so on from different outlets to add to our critical response section. lo and behold, I find a supposed review of the english game that stuck out like a sore thumb to me. see, even though the game had been out in English for less than a day, screencaps and video of the post-game bonus modes were already circulating online, so we had official English names for all of them, which I then updated the Wiki with. the combined post-game for V3 is many hours longer than the base game, but a person would not need to actually play or complete them to see the mode names from the main menu - only the base game.
However, this particular review, presumably written using a free review copy of the game from the publisher and prior to me being able to update the Wiki, used the fan translated terminology and bonus mode names featured on the Wiki. "Huh." I thought a first glance, "a bit strange that someone with an actual copy of the game would need to lift the incorrect English names from the Wiki." But when I pulled up the Wiki page I'd written just to double check I wasn't seeing things, I realised he had not only lifted the fan translations with no attribution despite it being clearly labeled on the Wiki page (the minimisation and lack of proper crediting of fan translations in jp fandoms is another can of worms), but he'd lifted nearly the entire bonus mode section i'd written word for word, with barely any re-writes at all, and no indication that they had any personal experience with the gameplay even on a basic level.
now, don't get me wrong, Wikis are Creative Commons and lifting of content from them for information is to be expected - if I got mad every time a youtube video or strategy guide used content I researched and wrote (or ripped directly from the game, or translated, or spent hundreds of hours transcribing, or creating easy-to-read tables for data, or...) with no credit to the Wiki (I don't expect personal credit, it's a Wiki), my head would explode - but this review was quite clearly not the review of someone who had actually completed the game and played these modes. I know that game reviewers are under tight deadlines and DRV3 is a long game, but I felt this was a quite clearly a deceptive review that wasn't actually reviewing anything they had experienced themself. something about it really pissed me off, and so I shot an email to the site's editor. the site apologised and pulled the bonus mode section from the article entirely, but then, about four days later, emailed me again groveling to ask if they could re-add it with attribution to DR Wiki. I agreed, although I urged them to update their copy to reflect the English names and not use the uncredited fan translations. That's really all I ask for! It's unreasonable to ask for personal credit because of the ways that Wikis are written with multiple contributors, but this section (which comprised of about 30% of the entire article) was my own work and research that had been lifted nearly 100% in a deceptive "review" by someone who hadn't even finished the main game to be able to see the post-game game modes on their menu. it was such a strong example of how the work of wiki contributors is taken for granted as free, exploitable fan labour and not the work of just a handful of people (statistically speaking, most wikis are often only written and moderated by one or two people, unless they're a huge fandom like star wars. even a wiki like ours with 2mil hits per month only had about five of us writing it) volunteering their free time to document things - even by our own webhosts at Fandom/Wikia who routinely dick us over with increasingly awful features just to line their pocket. please remember that wikis have real human people behind them!

I'm Red, writer, editor, gifmaker, and occasional meta-dropper. I've been doing this fandom thing long enough to have zero patience for drama and discourse, so you won't find any of that here. Likewise, I'm currently on a platonic bender, so the few ships that'll crop up will all be tagged (mostly norkus, chloe900, and chlonnor). The singular exception is Kara/Luther, which I reblog without tags. I do not tag warnings, which means occasional gore and mild NSFW will appear without tags, so bear that in mind while you enjoy browsing what's on tap!

hi heres my current reading list for manga. still being updated. post is very very long so under a readmore. images are only if i have specific screencaps to help the big spam
The apothecary diaries
Clasic miriam strategy of reading the manga of a popular anime instead of watching it. I did not realise how like. Political drama this would be. It rules a lot. More stuff like this please.
Babanbabanban Vampire
Aw yeah. This is vampire yaoi i can get behind. This is vampire yaoi i can respect on a primal level across generations. Please give me more opportunities to fujo out about a vampire so pathetic and bad at being down bad he cucks himself.
Berserk
I guess it goes here now wtf. Curious where it goes but im not upset if it turns away from what i like. The last miura chapter was an ok open ending for me
Black clover
i originally started reading this due to it feeling like a good example of shounen as a genre with the good and the bad, and for a while was going to say its my "if you want to understand the genre just read it" rec but one piece has been here. just here 4 fun now
Bocchi the Rock!
Ill be blunt just watch the anime. I enjoy reading the manga but its pretty classical mid. mainlining shots of kikuri until the spinoff lands jokes on you im already blasted
Bocchi the Rock! Gaiden: Hiroi Kikuri no Fukazake Nikki
Hiroi spinoff This woman is too pathetic for her own good [redacted for public safety]
Im caught up, rough start but very fun overall and good horny art. hard to complain
Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu
Boku wa Kimitachi wo Shihai suru
This is one of my "this is blatantly porn" reads but its got some good fucked up elements that make it fun. i also pr it so woo
Boy's Abyss
Bungou Stray Dogs
see before reading himegoto i genuinely loved it despite it kinda getting comical with the fucked up ness near the end. now its fine, but i read for my girl chako
its pretty ok so far. i think its hilarious its made people go back and read classic lit
Chainsaw Man
God i love act two. Asa is the best possible followup to denji and seeing her and denji interract is going to make the inevitable fujimotofication of the story even more fun
Hazure Skill "Kage ga Usui" o Motsu Guild Shokuin ga, Jitsuha Densetsu no Ansatsusha
Yeah ik long name. its an isekai lite aka the whole "this is an isekai in all but including the start of an isekai" genre thats popped up lately. its very charming and gorgeously drawn
Heavenly Delusion
in terms of post apocalyptic stuff it stands out and winds up pretty fun. the art isnt something wild but stands out with its own charm
Henjo
Henjo is hornybait with fucked up age gap, so a very boring and tread upon category, but the target audience is clearly less the horny 20 year olds hunting high school girls and more the high school girls who think they can pull. An important part of the manga ecosystem.
The Summer Hikaru Died
the art style is really evocative and i do love me some weirdly fucked up yaoi. good recent pickup
Hikikomari Kyuuketsuki no Monmon
Isekai Meikyuu de Harem o
kinda slippin on this one. it feels like a bit that they abandon quickly but i do love my vampire media. Im also kinda sad the anime adaptation didnt really pick up interest in more being adapted.
In/spectre
See the solution to writing good het is to make them kinda fucked up in some way. This works even better with gay ships but two people with something wrong with themselves clicking together is too great not to use. This is me being vague so you read the manga
Ishuzoku Reviewers
I read this out of this fucked up interest in how the mangaka spends the majority of this horny isekai not worldbuilding but game designing the rules of this isekai. Its such a weird focus of priorities
fun concept fun art horny is fun fuck you
Jahy-sama wa kujienai!
Jahy is going to abolish capitalism
Ka「」Ku「」Shi「」Go「」To「
Please someone pick this up again please if you need an editor i will fucking do it just reach out
Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun
This manga is fuckin gorgeous tbh. I think its close to its endgame and im excited to see how it goes
Kagurabachi
fuck you shut up fuck you i thought it would be funny. its pretty ok shounen. needs more homoeroticism though
Kemono jihen
Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon
Its a fun read and i like a lot of the character designs. It holds me pretty solidly at least
Kesa mo Yuraretemasu
Eiji masuda could make me read a manga about a wet dog undrying painted walls and id read in seconds and hype it up. Thankfully this is great above that. Romcom but entirely from an audience perspective is SUCH a fun idea.
Dramaid is watching someone with immense talent at writing domestic slice of life work REALLY hard at learning how to draw tits
The vampire dies in no time
I thought this was gonna be yaoi but instead its nothing but pathetic characters i absolutely love. Really good stuff
Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete
Mieruko-chan
i dont need to justify reading this to you. you know its good. we all know its good. fuck you.
How is this not more popular. Great concept. Really striking art. Solid writing. I barely see anyone talk about it. Might be due to the really uninteresting anime adaptation
My hero academia
i just want to see this train crash
Natsume Yuujinchou
I love the show and the mangas no exception. Really enjoyable and yuki midorikawa's style is pleasant on the eyes
Noss and Zakuro
this is insanely cute on every level. you agree.
One piece
Its fucking real lads
One Punch Man (webcomic)
Welcome to gremlintown (we got an update :D)
One Punch Man (Manga)
thank god were free from garou arc
Onimai
goated.
Oshi ni Amagami
i like my funny vampire stories and this is a fun vampire neet one
Oshi no ko
i am committed to this idc about the outcome
Ousama Ranking
IMPLYING ANYONE EVER DOES 70-155 LMAO SORRY I LIKE READING THE MANGA cant believe you made me watch the anime. tl the missing chapters please
Please Give Me Your Blood, I Will Serve You In Gratitude
Miriam "Trashy Vampire Manga Fan" Undertale
Record of Ragnarok
i needed something trashy and fun and this does it
Rent a Girlfriend
my least defensible read. its garbage. i hate it. its horrible trash and i read it purely out of some weird revival of the author attempt to understand miyajima innately and emotionally through his work
Sakamoto days
Im sorry it took me this long to hop on. I wasn't familiar with your game.
Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi
This manga gives me severe dysphoria and yet i keep reading it. well not rly because its kinda gotten mega boring
Shingeki no Eroko-san ~Hen na Oneesan wa Danshikousei to Nakayoku Naritai~
Continuing her streak of having the biggest mind ever, yoshiru konogi pops off with the manga targeted towards pathetic 30 year old women who want a high school boy to a massive degree
Shojo null
Art is cracked and the energy is utterly hogwild. I love the "no actually please torture your oppressors" vibe so far
SHY
im so happy im getting updates again. anime was good despite low budget. excited for s2 yes yes yes
Skip and loafer
The art style is so lovely and its a breath of fresh air compared to a lot of the romance ive been reading lately
Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru
Its fun fuck you. The seasonals in 2022 had a great selection of source materials and bisque doll slams it out of the park
Sousou no Frieren
the severe nature of how much this goes will never be beat.
Spy x Family
Its good and thats Fine. no clue whats going on with the manga it feels like i get maybe an update every 5 months
The Dungeon That Kills All Adventurers
another dowman sayman banger who could have predicted this
To Your Eternity
TYE is enjoyable though i think its kinda suffering from jojofication. i think it deserves an ending soon
Usuzumi no Hate
i refuse to believe this is this mangakas first work. this is fucking incredible. gorgeously drawn with an incredible concept. read now
The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You
the type of peak that could only exist to those willing to brave their own doubts. a work of art that will only exist for those strong enough to resist their hearts saying "cringe"
The Case Study of Vanitas
who could have predicted gay vampires are good
VERSUS
Why are we once again in a world where people are not translating kino by one
Vinland Saga
Man this grew on me fast. I picked it up not expecting a lot and got the world with it
Witch Hat Atelier
Yorashi Ni warau
At this point it feels like im very obviously drawn to pretty stuff but honestly its a really good read. Qifrey and olruggio should kiss already
Witch watch
I was lied to about there being vampires as a core part of things. But in return i got a really cute comedy that has just enough of the right type of derrangement to worm into my brain. Good mistake.
I cannot get over the art still, fucking gorgeous, the story hasnt really gotten stuck in my craw like some other things but the art genuinely makes up for it.
Yotsuba
Yotsuba is one of the mangas of all time
zom 100
this is one of those "i saw the start of a genre trending and assumed one of the main firestarters would be bad" stories and im glad i was wrong. it's very charming in a kinda fun childish way
#big and long im SORRY I READ TOO MUCH SHIT#if you want specific recs u can dm me or just read call of the night#in fact read call of the night#miri.edu#miri writing

This is good for getting screenshots from several places, but it doesn't work everywhere. I usually use my video card to take screencaps but HBO and some other streaming sites have put up anti-pirating roadblocks that can get in the way of those sometimes. (Some sites unfortunately also don't let the play button/etc. fade when the show is paused thus rendering this method useless.) Also, this is for PC. It's been too long since I had a mac to have any idea how to do it on that.
In this instance, I pull up the show on HBO, put it on full-screen, and let it play for a bit (to get the "This show has been rated blah blah blah" pop-ups out of its system). Then I pause it on the screencap I'd like. I don't touch anything until the play button and all that nonsense fades from the screen.
(Touching the mouse at this point will immediately bring it all back and you'll have to wait again. If something just WILL NOT fade, then you may have to go back like 30 seconds and let it play out again and then pause it. These sites are just so sensitive.)
At that point I hold down "Ctrl" and "Shift" at the same time, and while doing that I tap "print screen" a few times quickly. (Theoretically once is all it takes but sometimes it doesn't capture so I just hit it a few.) This takes a screenshot and saves it to your clipboard to be pasted.
Then bring it to your editor of choice. I usually use photoshop, but sometimes I can't be fucked to open it, or maybe you don't have it, or whatever. Pixlr lets you download 3 images a day, and is free and works in your browser (no downloads) so it'll do nicely in a pinch.
Just open up a new project. (Advanced editor if you're using pixlr)
You'll want your canvas to be 1920 x 1080 (Both pixlr and photoshop have pre-sets for this, as it's common HDTV sizing.
Then hit "Ctrl" and "v" or go to edit/paste and it'll plop your screen cap right in there.
From there you can either save as is, or make adjustments.
Boom.
Over complicated? Yeah. Does it work when a lot of things don't? Yeah.
Ok question for the wider Torchwood fandom but if anyone else knows feel free to say. How do you get good photos/screenshots from the series? Because i've been getting them from YouTube and I've been working on something and I can't get this one specific shot of Suzie and it's driving me insane.
Please tell me in the comments or like send an ask. Just tell me what's your method!

updated tutorial on trimming posts on mobile
reply formatter mobile edition:
i’ve been trying to figure out a way to adjust the roleplay formatter to be used on mobile but unfortunately tumblr just does not render blog themes well on mobile browsers (my guess is to force people to use the app but i digress)
so i made a mobile friendly version with carrd. the only differences are the box size option and the night mode toggle, which the carrd version doesn’t have.
if you don’t use either of these you can use the carrd version on desktop as well, everything else is the same. for the purpose of this tutorial i’ll be using the carrd version as it is optimized for mobile screens.
if you can consider tipping my ko-fi or using my carrd referral code ( DPY34V1H ) to help me keep hosting the formatter ♡
this is a very easy level tutorial
even if you’re not comfortable with html!
this post may be long because of the screencaps, but the method itself is only a handful of clicks and it shouldn’t take you more than a minute.
this method technically works on any browser, but it works best on firefox as it is the only browser i’ve tested that keeps all formatting (bold, italics, color text, etc).
i encourage you to install firefox on your phone to at least cut replies, you could technically use the tumblr app to write and format your reply once you get the code of the trimmed reblog.
what you will need:
a mobile browser (can’t stress this enough i strongly suggest firefox, specially if you don’t want to have to manually add your partner’s formatting. it will make your life easier)
the mobile friendly reply formatter.
that’s it.
tutorial:
step one:
first thing you’re going to do is copy this line of text:
?redirect_to=%2Fdashboard%3Frestore%3D1&avoid_redirect=1
time saving tip! depending on your device you may have a “pin” or “lock” option in your clipboard, use it so you can keep using it without looking for this post and copying it all over again.
if your device does not have a pin / lock option, you can create shortcuts assigning a short word or symbol and when you type it the saved line of text will be suggested.
here is a tutorial for android and ios.
step two:
save the post you want to trim as a draft.
you can do this on the app.
step three:
open your draft on your mobile browser. click to edit the address bar.
the url of this post will look like this : https://www.tumblr.com/edit/USERNAME/POSTNUMBER
now delete the part with your username and one of the brackets (either the first one or the last one, it doesn’t matter which one, just don’t leave 2 brackets.
then add “?redirect_to=%2Fdashboard%3Frestore%3D1&avoid_redirect=1" (without the quotes) at the end of the link, then click on the link and load the page
thanks to this anon who figured the link trick out💗
step four:
select everything and copy
then click on the x to remove the previous reblogs.
step five:
now go to the reply formatter here, click on the paste button and you’ll get a pop window.
there tap your screen until you get the options “paste” and “paste as plain text”. use the regular “paste” option.
step six:
select the blockquote text you want to delete trimming the reply like you would on desktop with editable reblogs.
and that’s it ! you’re done.
from here you can either write and format everything on the formatter
or you can copy the html code from trimming the post and paste it on your trimmed draft on the app
ir order to do that, on step 4 add anything to the body of the post so you can save the post (it can be just a comma or a keymash)
then write + format everything on the app. just remember to switch the editor to html on the app!
bonus tip + tutorial: uploading icons
save your icons folder to your phone / google drive (and then save to your phone the icon you want to use)
on your browser (NOT THE APP) create a new post
upload your icon
switch the editor from rich text to html
copy everything, paste it in the source code of the formatter.
you’re done!

🎨 hello ruth 🥰 these are fun tysm for doing this
Hello, Cora! Tumblr desktop hates to work properly so I have probably missed some great edits but here are some of my favourites that Tumblr did decide to let me see...
THE MANDALORIAN + Pedro Pascal Tweets - This has to be my favourite thing that you have done! It makes me laugh every time I see it. Perfect matching of tweets to scenes. A very clever idea, too, perfectly executed!
CHAPTER 10: THE PASSENGER - Oh honey this colouring! The purples and the pinks and oranges all fit together so well. So well. This must have taken a long time to get just right but get it just right you certainly have! Especially with an episode with a mostly white set, to get this much colour out of it is no mean feat. A round of applause for this one!
Pedro + Yellow - Yellow is just a colour that suits Pedro so well and this set just makes me think of what a ray of sunshine Pedro is. <3
JOSÉ PEDRO BALMACEDA PASCAL - Gosh this is just so cute! I love how big these gifs are and how each one has a different background colour. And I have just noticed that his hair is different in. Every. Single. Gif. Looks cute as heck anyway!
PPSDCU (Pedro Pascal Single Dad Cinematic Universe) - I love the PPSDCU so much and the way you have blended these various shows and movies together into something so beautiful is really inspiring. It’s all good but the best part has to be Maxwell and Alistair in the word DADDY. What is it the cool kids are saying these days? Oh yes - *chef’s kiss*.
he protec he attac but most importantly he carry stuff on his bac - This made me laugh! Cora your mind!
Favourite Movie/TV Show → THE MANDALORIAN - Just the perfect mix of humour and badassery in this gifset hehe. I love the moments you chose. “I’m not A TAxI ServICe!” cracks me up.
*heart eyes* - A simple edit well done has just as much power as something very complicated. I love this. The torn paper and the block of colour that matches the photos tonally is very pleasing.
Count Down to Season 14, 1 Day - I don’t go here but this is absolutely glorious! I love the use of screencaps and the way you’ve used text and pops of colour. Really well done!
There’s more to life than murder. - I just think this is really neat! Again it’s not necessarily the most complicated edits that have the most impact.
And it goes without saying but I’m saying it here, that your colouring on every single one of these gifsets and edits is complete perfection. As far as I can tell you haven’t put a pixel of colour out of place. You are one of the best gifmakers on this site and that is a Fact, I really mean that. I’m not just saying that because we’re mutuals or because I’m being polite, I really mean it. If you were a stranger and I’d just gone through your edit tag I would say the exact same thing. You’re an incredible editor and I hope you realise that. Never stop believing it.
creators send me 🎨 and i’ll tell you my favourite of your last ten creations and why

20 in 10: A Drama Retrospective
Since I’ve been all quiet on the drama front this year because of life reasons, I thought it would be fun to go back and pick out 20 of the most memorable dramas of the last decade. Maybe not necessarily the best dramas or even my favorites (although some are!), but two dramas each year that were somehow notable moments in my drama-watching timeline.
2009: Gateway Drugs
Boys over Flowers (KBS)
This is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a good drama. It is not one I think I can ever really rewatch (although I will happily revisit the 2005 Japanese version, and I had a hellava fun time watching the latest Chinese version). But! It was the first kdrama I remember watching, and the first step on the slippery slope of eventually becoming a Drama Addict. I mostly remember it being crazy popular on places like mysoju (RIP), and so I checked it out due to curiosity, and the rest, as they say, is history. Or, should I say, almost paaaaradise!
You’re Beautiful (SBS)
This one I also watched because it became crazy-popular online, and curiosity got the better of me. I really didn’t know much about k-pop prior to dramas, so I had no idea until after this drama that k-pop was more about pretty people in crazy fashion, dancing in syncopation in bizarrely lit rooms, rather than playing instruments. Because it was thanks to this drama that I got my crash-course on k-pop as a phenomenon -- both the fandom side, and the crazy things that artists have to go through to claw their way into the public’s view (nevar 4get the glorious ramen dance). Since Angel was a group that played instruments, and Hongki and Yonghwa were also from groups that played instruments, I assumed that all kpop were groups that played instruments. Oh, sweet summer child...
But it did get me started on my k-pop journey, first falling in love with FT Island and CNBLUE, before falling into the rabbit hole of the other prominent groups of the day. (SNSD! The Wonder Girls! Super Junior! DBSK! SS501! Kara! 2PM! 2AM! Shinee! BEG! Epik High! U-KISS! All the debut groups, like 2NE1, MBLAQ, B2ST, 4Minute, f(x), T-ara, After School... basically 2009 was a magical year in k-pop.)
If I had just watched Boys Over Flowers, I don’t know that I would have become a Drama Addict. But You’re Beautiful pushed me closer to the edge, with the zany humor of the Hong Sisters (and the desire for a pig-bunny of my own!). It would really be Coffee Prince that would push me over the edge, but that aired in 2007 so it doesn’t count for this list. But I had to mention it anyway, because, well, it’s Coffee Prince and where my love for Handsome Oppa began.
2010: More Than Candy
The Woman Who Wants To Marry (MBC)
A lot of the dramas I watched at first had that typical “Candy” character, the poor-but-scrappy girl who would somehow be saved by the guy and become the Cinderella she never knew she wanted to be. So it was a delight when I encountered women who were not only older than high-school-age or early twenties, but in their thirties, with rich full lives! Plus, this was one of my earliest introductions to the concept of the “noona romance” (a concept that I’ve since heartily embraced, of course). I started it primarily because Kim Bum was my favorite of the Flower Boys, but I stuck with it because I fell in love with the women (and I still have a girl-crush on Bu-ki).
Harvest Villa (tvn)
This show is insane. But in the good way, the way that the writer intended, and not in the “are a bunch of monkeys typing this script?” train-wreck way. There was basically no buzz about this show, and I feel like I somehow accidentally stumbled over it, but it was love at first sight. I’ve never forgotten the late hours binging it, being so sucked into the story that I absolutely had to finish it as soon as I could, disappointed that there wasn’t more of it to enjoy when I finally finished, bleary-eyed and sleep-deprived, but satisfied.
I then later gobbled down this writer’s next drama, and her next drama, and the next, until everyone else finally realized thanks to Signal that Kim Eun-hee was as amazing a writer as I kept insisting to anyone who would listen (aka no one).
2011: To Binge or Not To Binge?
White Christmas (KBS)
I did not watch White Christmas in 2011. I actually watched it in 2013. I was always a steadfast binger, preferring to wait until the buzz about a show would sway me into spending my precious free-time watching something that would be worth my while (not that my drama choices were always good, but at least I tried to avoid the duds). I still prefer to binge, since waiting weeks for new episodes is vaguely frustrating when I want to know what happens next, right now! Plus, I’m very good at forgetting that I’m watching a show in the week-long wait for new episodes, and then just... never picking it back up again.
Despite watching White Christmas a couple years after it aired, it remains one of my favorites, and one I love to rewatch, even though I’ve already experienced whodunnit cliff-hangers and psychological rollercoasters. It became a tradition of sorts here on tumblr for a bunch of us to rewatch it over the holiday season -- alas, I haven’t joined in that tradition for the past couple of years, but I hope that somewhere in this blue hell hole that there are a loyal few keeping the tradition alive.
At least we have this drama to thank for bringing us all the model-actors that were new and clueless in White Christmas, but would later go on to be leading men in their own right. Of course, some of them haven’t exactly made the best drama choices (*cough*SungJoon*cough*), but then there are others (*cough*SooHyuk*cough*) that I’m impatiently waiting for to pick up a new drama so I can see those post-army abs.
Tree With Deep Roots (SBS)
This is the first drama that I recall live-watching. I vaguely remember regretting it at the time, since it was agony waiting for new episodes, but it was also fun to have a week to speculate and ponder the show. And what a beautiful show to ponder! This was also one of the few sageuks I actually watched, being generally intimidated by anything longer than 16-20 episodes, and my historical knowledge was a little shaky (before embracing my inner nerd and diving into mundane historical stuff just so I could better understand whatever drama I was watching at the time).
I don’t think I intended to continue live-watching shows, preferring the ease of binging at my own pace and schedule. But that was when I was still a casual, innocent addict, and not someone who would eventually make dramas a huge part of her life.
2012: The Joy of Overthinking
Gaksital (KBS)
Having had a taste of live-watching, I started to live-watch enough dramas to the point where I began to make notes about the premiere weeks. It was only a couple at a time, and binging was still my preferred way to watch, but now I was delighting in being part of the fandom, sharing in speculation each week, posting my thoughts on dramas and analyzing them to my heart’s content -- even though I knew no one except me would read my ridiculous essays.
But I started to feel more comfortable sharing my opinion with the world, interacting with fandom and not merely content to be a consumer, but gradually becoming a producer as well.
Reply 1997 (tvN)
This is it. This is when I went full-on Drama Addict. This is the tipping point from casual fan who quietly kept to herself, to becoming someone who stood on the mountain top yelling about ALL THE DRAMAS ALL THE TIME. I began to interact with other fans! To swap theories and share squee-worthy moments! I even watched episodes RAW just because of how desperate I was to know what happened, and even though the Busan accent stumped me more than once, it made me realize that my casual study of Korean was something to take seriously since I understood more than I gave myself credit for.
It was also the first time any post I made got more than a handful of notes, since I’d mostly hovered in the “less than 10 notes per post” category at the time. I was so proud of myself back then!
(This drama also notably marks the start of my Hoya obsession, which continues to this day.)
2013: Tumblr Friends (and Foes)
Flower Boy Next Door (tvN)
Having made myself comfortable on tumblr as a Drama Addict, I then discovered some other dedicated fans -- many of which I still follow to this day and who are now just a permanent part of my dash, no matter what their current interests may be -- in the FBND squad.
But I also discovered Kim Seul-gi as the Webtoon Editor (who I still love and adore and continue to use as my avatar), and her adorable romance with Dong-hoon remains one of my forever OTPs. As much as I enjoyed the drama romances, I’d never fallen so deeply for one to be so obsessed by it as I was Webtoon Editor and Dong-hoon. And tbh I still am. They’re just so adorable and pragmatic and she buys him a bag. Ugh. I love her so much, you guys.
Heirs (SBS)
Ah, yes. This hot mess.
I don’t know what possessed me to live-blog each episode. But I did. With snarky commentary and terrible screencaps. And suddenly I went from maybe 200 followers to over a 1000. That was a total shock! I met a lot of people because of that (and made some friends, as well as a few enemies who didn’t appreciate my opinion of certain characters), and ensconced myself as part of the drama-blogging crew.
It was from this that someone suggested I apply to be a minion at Dramabeans. Back then, I had a lot more free time than I do now, and I was watching a lot of dramas that Dramabeans didn’t cover, and wished they did so I could read more opinions about those shows. So I thought, “Eh, why not? It can’t hurt to submit something because the worst that would happen is I’d waste their time making them read my take on episode 10 of Let’s Eat.”
I fully expected them to turn me down. No one was more surprised than I was when I found myself agreeing to dive into the world of recapping.
2014: It Was the Best of Times, It Was the Worst of Times
Trot Lovers (KBS)
Recapping. It seems so easy when you’re reading the recaps. But actually creating them is a bitch. Hours out of my life were spent on this disaster of a trope-laden show with no plot. This was the third show I worked on for Dramabeans, and I hated it to the point where I seriously considered handing in my notice. (Immediately following up this show with the mediocre My Secret Hotel certainly didn’t help matters!)
However, it turns out that what I actually hated was being forced to watch a terrible rom-com and pretend to come up with insightful-or-at-least-neutral thoughts about it (since we were still new and couldn’t go full-on snark yet).
Misaeng (tvN)
This is what saved me. Being given the chance to immerse myself in such a unique, ponderous, thoughtful show restored my faith in dramas and the drama community. I loved spending hours on this show, soaking up all the little details, and then sharing that love with the world.
Misaeng made dramas magical again.
2015: Fight Me
Valid Love (tvN)
Realizing that I only seemed to enjoy rom-coms at arm-length, I discovered that my tastes often ran counter to the general drama-viewing public. Not all the drama-viewing public -- I’m not a “not like other fans” kind of fan -- but enough that I began to realize the whether a drama was popular or had good buzz was not necessarily the primary reason to watch it.
I began to have more faith in my own taste, based on past experiences with various writers and directors. Even if the premise (or first couple of episodes) seemed kind of weird and out-there, I at least wanted to give these artists the benefit of the doubt that I would enjoy their work, like I had previously.
So many people seemed to hate Valid Love, but I adored it. Still do (and still desperately wish Kim Do-woo would come out with a new drama -- it has been too long, writer-nim!). There were a lot of opinions about this show, even among people who seemed to enjoy it, but I vividly recall having to repeatedly insist that it wasn’t about the romance and argue that the knee-jerk infidelity-is-BAD opinions should make space for something more nuanced.
Ho-gu’s Love (tvN)
DramaFever was a pretty great site. It brought together so many drama fans and gave them a place where they could legally (and without fear of downloading random viruses) watch dramas to their heart’s content. Yes, there may have been some lingering resentment that they were the primary reason that so many amazing other sites were shut down (RIP mysoju and daebaeksubs), but dramas were more accessible than ever!
Eventually, DramaFever started to sub shows themselves and upload them weekly (instead of just using fansubs and uploading older dramas), and while they weren’t the best translations, they were at least better than machine translations from the Chinese subs. As I became more and more familiar with Korean, I found myself more likely to migrate to Viki since I liked the extra detailed translations. I could get the gist of a show without any help -- I wanted to instead delve into the nitty-gritty of the language.
But I never really hated DramaFever or felt they were particularly awful. Until they mistranslated something so terribly that it changed the entire meaning of a scene and ruined people’s perception of a drama, forcing me to continually defend the true translation.
That was the molehill I died on that day, and never again did I touch DramaFever. I feel bad that it eventually got unceremoniously shuttered. But I don’t think I’ll ever forgive them for the “condom” incident.
2016: Free Solo
Dear My Friends (tvN)
For two years I’d been happily working on one episode a week, sharing a show with someone else, until I was asked if I’d like to tackle a show by myself. I wasn’t sure how I could handle it, but I had the time in my schedule so I said, “Sure, why not?”
I was originally going to recap Another Oh Hae-young, but there was a last-minute switcheroo, and I’m so incredibly glad because this is perhaps my favorite recapping experience of all time, even more so than Misaeng. There was something so special about the luxury of having an entire show to myself, especially one with such a fantastic cast of characters and thoughtful themes. I didn’t have to try and figure out if I agreed with another person’s take -- it could all be my opinion.
Is that arrogant? Perhaps. But it was also therapeutic, as it reminded me once again how incredible and amazing dramas could be, and the privilege I had to share such an exquisite and thought-provoking drama with the rest of the world.
The Good Wife (tvN)
Surprisingly, this was what I had really wanted to recap that year, and the true reason I got Dear My Friends, since it aired just prior in the same time-slot as The Good Wife. I was desperate to have this show, willing to do anything to get it because I needed to see Jeon Do-yeon back on the small screen, to see Yoo Ji-tae smolder, to know how Korea would adapt such an ambitious show.
And I wasn’t disappointed! This is, perhaps, my favorite adaption of another work of art that I’ve seen in dramaland. It remained true to Korean sensibilities, but it also properly felt like The Good Wife. The cast was phenomenal. The costumes were exquisite. I wished I could spend more time in that world.
But I was also thankful, because without The Good Wife, I would have never have had Dear My Friends.
2017: Serial-Killers Are Cool
Voice (OCN)
I can’t remember how I got assigned to this. Maybe it was a scheduling thing. I do know that I really, really wanted it, since it would be Handsome Oppa’s first drama appearance in three years.
But it started me down a road of recapping a lot of serious and serial-killer-centric shows. Except for the times when I’d beg for a break and tackle something lighter, I was generally assigned the darker mystery shows with meaty plots, since apparently I had a knack for condensing complicated shows into something that made sense. (Also literally darker, and I eventually learned to automatically brighten every screencap I posted. You’re welcome.)
Not only did I love working on something with Handsome Oppa, I also had fun recapping the start of what would eventually become OCN’s stock-in-trade -- creepy serial killers. At the time, Voice shattered OCN’s viewer ratings (which would then be shattered again and again as more people would tune in to OCN shows). But Voice really helped put OCN on the viewership map -- as well as catapult Handsome Oppa into the public eye and lead him to a path of getting to choose whatever script he wanted to work on.
(Okay, maybe I made that last bit up, but he did begin to garner a larger following and remind everyone that just because he was gone from dramaland for so long, he hadn’t lost his acting chops -- or charisma -- or cheekbones.)
Black (OCN)
Oh, this show. It was basically my whole life while it was airing (well, the non-day-job part of my life). Each episode was over an hour long and jam-packed full of details that were pertinent to the story, and I had to somehow condense that all into 3000 words or less (I was not always, ah, successful...). It felt like I was back in recapping bootcamp, but the dial had been turned up to 11.
I’m weirdly proud of what I produced (although you’ll never get me to reread my old work). It was one of the most challenging shows to work on, but in the good way, not the Trot Lovers way.
Until the ending, that is. Sigh. That ending will live in infamy. I still, to this day, will get a few comments on the finale from people who watched it on Netflix, went searching online for an explanation of the end, and then discovered that they were not alone in being confused by the utter wtf-ery of the last twenty minutes.
2018: Fighting For My Love
Misty (JTBC)
So, Dramabeans kind of disappeared for a few months. Well, the site was still live. There were a handful of recaps. But... it basically just... stopped.
Those of us on the other side know about as you do as to why that happened. Minions are kept in the dark just as much as anybody, it seems. All we knew is that we weren’t being assigned anything and we seriously wondered if the site was going under, since adsense has become worthless these days.
But Mary and I kept talking about how much we adored Misty and were sad that we couldn’t talk about it with the world (and convince them to watch it with us), so we pleaded and begged and got the go-ahead to do a kind of chatty “open thread” which has apparently been a spring-board format for other shows. We didn’t get paid for this, and we were totally fine with that. We just wanted to provide some kind of content (while swooning over Kim Nam-joo’s pantsuits!).
Let’s Eat 3 (tvN)
This was my first real assignment after the dead period, and I once again got to do full recaps (with pay!). I started watching, thinking I’d merely tolerate the show (since I loved the first season vastly more than the second season), but it turned out to be my favorite of the three. Plus it felt fortuitous that the series I had submitted my application would be a series I’d work on four years later.
Sometimes it’s nice to spend time with a character you met years ago, to see them grow, to see how they became what they became. Drama trends (and love interests) will come and go, but Goo Dae-young’s love of food (and love of explaining the proper way to eat food) will never change. It was a really comforting drama for me to spend my summer on, and I’ll remember it fondly, even if I’m forever sad that it had to suddenly wrap-up two episodes early.
2019: Ten Years Later
Item (MBC)
This was the Trot Lovers of 2019. It was a nonsensical disaster.
I also had the added chaos of my real-life job -- one very different from the one I had when I was working on Trot Lovers -- as it began to increase exponentially in responsibilities and in stress. I reached a breaking point where I began to hate opening my computer where I’d have to spend hours attempting to explain a show that I wanted nothing to do with. I was miserable and depressed and couldn’t do it anymore. I never before asked to be taken off a show because I hated it so much, but there’s a first for everything.
Her Private Life (tvN)
I actually haven’t finished this show -- I’ve yet to watch the last two episodes. But I’m including it because, well, I didn’t finish any other show in 2019 except for Item.
As some of you may know, this has been a difficult year. It started with the unexpected stress of my job, when we suddenly lost one of our directors who passed away, and another director was let go (in a complicated situation that is ongoing, but the important thing is that it was during our busiest time when we really couldn’t afford to lose anyone), and another director left for a different job and I was basically the one to pick up all the pieces she left behind. It was exhausting and we were all past the breaking point but somehow miraculously holding it together.
I was looking forward to finally getting a much-needed vacation in September, and then, well, you all know how that went: the first night, on our layover in New Zealand before what was supposed to be three weeks in Australia, my father was taken to the hospital, and then, two days later, he passed away. Life has gotten even more chaotic and stressful and bizarre since then.
So no, I haven’t finished this drama, but it was one of the most wonderful moments of the year for me, watching this fizzy rom-com with my favorite actor, where he got to be charming and handsome and charismatic and finally kiss the girl he loves and have her love him back (and not die or be dumped, as he had been in so many dramas that had gone before). Lion Oppa was everything my heart could desire, and living in his world helped me endure the insanity that I wish I’d known would seem so much more tolerable than what would eventually befall.
Her Private Life reminded me of when I first fell in love with dramas ten years ago, when I would giggle and be delighted by the charming nonsense on screen -- of beautiful people falling in love and fighting against the obstacles between them (some more ridiculous than others, perhaps, but there are always obstacles), and ending up happily ever after. Pure escapism, of the frothiest kind.
A Drama-filled Decade
So, after ten years of dramas, what is the takeaway? What have I learned?
I suppose I’ve learned to trust my instincts and put more faith in writers and directors than actors. That analyzing dramas is fun, and it’s even more fun sharing it with others, and sometimes even more fun if you get paid to do it -- but everyone eventually reaches a breaking point. That I’m too earnest and optimistic to embrace a life of snark. That I want every drama to be good but most of them aren’t, except sometimes they are. That I’m not even sure which genres are my favorite; I just know what I don’t like.
That dramas are best as escapism, and not as work.
I don’t know how many dramas I’ll watch in 2020. I haven’t paid any attention to what’s airing, and I’m okay with that. Perhaps I’m entering a new phase in my life, or perhaps I just don’t have the capacity to escape right now.
But I am pleased to have had dramas in my life, and to have eventually made them my hobby. I’ve met a lot of amazing people and made some genuine friends through a shared love of dramas (or, at times, a shared hatred). I’m honored that all of you are still here and following me, even during this period of fandom silence.
May 2020 treat us all better, and may Kim Do-woo finally write another script.

how do you find coli captcha dragons?? like what's your process for searching for them?
It’s quite simple actually! :> First I just grind through the training field, and when a captcha pops up, I check carefully for any interesting dragons. (Hint: you can go through 4 captchas before coli boots you out! After the first three, just click on the dragon on the fourth captcha to keep grinding.) If it looks like a design I can actually narrow down (visible apparel, discernable genes, etc.) then I take a screencap.
Next, open the screencap in an image editor like gimp if you can. Try to match the dragon to the correct position for that breed’s gender/ pose. This really helps later, since the image is so stupid tiny that any simplification helps here! :p Here’s a F!SD example I took, cropped, and flipped.
After this, you’re gonna wanna enlarge the pic because it’s just too hard to pick out details at the original size- I use waifu2x to do this. Much better!
While this lady is a bit hard to see because of the forest rogue set she’s wearing, we can still pick out some helpful details. Like on her wings, you can see the shape of a green opal tert. It seems to be a green/ blue gradient color, and the wings are a cool-toned green with some spotting around the edges. Her primary is also a yellow-green color, with what appears to be stripes or spots around the shoulders. Zooming in, the eyes appear to be a lighter, cool color- maybe nature or lightning? (Eyes are not always visible however, though this isn’t a gamebreaker!)
From this, I messed around in the scrying workshop. Primary could be something like moss or crocodile, with either tiger or jaguar (apparel makes things difficult, but that isn’t really a problem overall!) Secondary could be something like green or avocado, either clouded or rosette maybe? The green/ blue gradient on her tert really helps narrow it down- it perfectly matches crocodile opal!
Next we take to the dragon search. From here we just input our best guesses (female skydancer, adult, opal tert, etc.) with some wiggle room for error. Because of the apparel in the captcha, I first checked for unexalted dragons… and got nothing! :( Shame, it looks like this girl isn’t active anymore- though we can still find out her history!
Aaaand that’s a match! ^^ Got lucky on this one, there’s only one possible dragon that fits our narrowed search. (Though if the first try doesn’t work, just expand your parameters and keep looking!) While it’s a bit more exciting to find a dragon kickin’ around somebody’s lair, there’s still a fun challenge in tracking down a long-lost, exalted dragon that’s been forgotten by everyone else (RIP Hakari- thanks for serving as my example. She looked very cool as a forest witch while she was still around!)
(PS: beware! Some coli captchas can also be hue-shifted… though you can use hue balancing to find the real colors of the dragon! This is certainly easier when you have apparel to cross-reference to the correct colors though. Otherwise, it can be very, very hard to tell the true colors of some captcha dragons. More are un-shifted than not, though, so this method still works! Here, the navy aviator set and wavecrest accent matched perfectly when changed to blue tones.)
#flight rising#personal#asks#anonymous#hope this helped anon! feel free to ask if smth is unclear#orrr if you are stumped on a captcha image! sometimes a second pair of eyes can rlly help :>

Your art is beautiful but you should credit the editor that did the photo edit you used as reference
you’re right, I should! (this is going to be a bit long into how i make art so prepare...)The drawing I really want to talk about is THIS because the process was pretty wild. My focus for this drawing was lady loki, and my goal for creating her how i wanted her to look was separate from the comics, i wanted to create a believable MCU lady loki, and to do that i didn’t want to just fan cast her, because this is art I can do whatever I want right? So as much as I don’t like him-- i watched about two hours (maybe more) of interviews, red carpet BS and combed thru scenes in Thor Ragnarok. I took multiple screen grabs of him thru-out the process and kind of “morphed” them mentally and then did like 200 sketches of what I thought Lady Loki might look like by feminizing Tom’s features. I really wish I still had all this on my tablet but because I need to preserve storage and I did that piece over a year ago, it’s been deleted. But for that one most of my ‘edits’ were my own screen grabs from interviews and T:R and then a process of drawing her over and over again until I was happy.
You can see part of the process and sketches here in a screen grab from my gallery! (i blocked out some other art and photos here for focus)
for THIS sketch I was sure I wanted to do some snake sketching (i really want to draw Craig too... might do that soon) so I combed thru the snake yoga video and I still have most of the screen grabs I used as seen here:
I circled the shots I used here and blacked out surrounding images for continuity again. I used the top images for an unfinished sketch I posted to my IG story.
For THIS I did the same thing but I had to go thru multiple videos finding Chunk footage. And I used multiple images as reference and “edited” them all together.
for THIS I used four reference photos and interpreted them thru a “creative” lens, I was kinda going for a comic pop art feel for no reason at all. i just kinda like the way clean lines and bright colours look.
at this point you can kinda see how weird my tablet looks with 1000s of screencaps (this is why I have to delete after a while, it gets wild)
and finally! THIS one was harder because I found the source photo on pinterest... kind of a side note, but this was my first sketch after a year and a half of no art and I didn’t even know I was going to start drawing again. I usually get my own source images because it took me a while to reverse image search (why I hate pinterest-- don’t use pinterest as a source kids) but I think it’s an edit created by @atbackground and can be found here! (finding the source on this took over an hour this morning omg) whoever posted it to pinterest took off any credit as well which is shitty af, credit artists people!!
anyway, hope this helps!

Gintama is on my list to watch, and cant wait until i get to the blackout drunk episode, lmfao. I already said i cryed the most at naruto but i cried the HARDEST during the whole ass pain arc (jiraiya's death Kakashi, my husband's, death, hinatas whole thing, and the ending) and also the other arc when kushina was telling naruto about the day he was born. When her and minato were saying their last words to naruto i was gone 😩😩😢
See, I feel like I’ve watched enough anime to accurately predict when something sads about to go down and brace myself for it so scenes like those don’t get much more than a few teary eyed blinks from me. The shit with Kushina and Minato WAS very sad but I didn’t cry. Jiraiya’s death left me feeling gutted (and if I see one more person genuinely celebrating that shit I might actually lose my cool, I understand if you don’t like him and that’s fine but why be such a little bitch about it??) but I still didn’t cry over that scene. I DID shed a few tears during the Shikamaru mourning episode because seeing my baby so broken and sad destroyed me on a spiritual level but even then I didn’t, like, bawl my eyes out or anything. I thought for sure I was gonna have a mental breakdown when I got to the episode where Shikaku and Inoichi die but the whole thing felt so ... idk. Hollow? Forced? Unnecessary drama that was only acknowledged for about two minutes before moving on as if that hadn’t even happened??
Yeah, that was fucking bullshit. I will never forgive Kishimoto or his editors for allowing that man to disrespect best dad like that. The absolute nerve of these people. 😡
BUT! I did actually remember a different anime that had me full on gross sobbing ... 👀 I really buried that shit deep in my heart I guess because I was sincerely shook when it suddenly popped into my head. Denial at its finest tbh.
This shit right fucking here. Oh god. Just looking at this screencap is making me feel things, it’s disgusting. Hunter x Hunter. If you haven’t made plans to watch what might actually be THE greatest shonen title of all time, fucking do it now. I’m not going to explain what happened or give you any context. It’s something you’ve actually gotta experience for yourself. Sorry, I don’t make the rules. But just trust me when I say the noise that left me was inhuman. This actually wrecked me emotionally and I was fucked up for a few days afterward. I think this was genuinely the saddest fucking thing I’ve ever seen come out of an anime and I was personally hurt by the whole damn thing.
Gross sobbing actually doesn’t even begin to accurately describe what I was doing when I finished that episode. 🤧

Getting to know you tag!
I was tagged by @galysh ~ thank you :)
Since my brain tends to hurt trying to name my favourite of basic pop culture things (especially songs, movies, actors, and musicians), I have decided to replace all questions of that kind with my own questions. Here goes!
♥ Answer some questions, then tag some people you want to get to know!
1. Nickname: Imp, Oni-chan, Chi-chan 2. Zodiac sign: Scorpio (Ides of November) 3. Height: 157 cm 4. Most recent drink: Sleepytime tea (chamomile/mint mostly) 5. Last thing I googled: Fairy Tail images for Erza & Lucy (screencaps) 6. Favourite video game character: Saitou Hajime (Hakuouki) 7. Last creative post for tumblr was?: Fanfic (or maybe transparent chibis?) 8. Other blogs: No (other than the saichifest blog); keep thinking about it 9. Do I get asks: Sometimes 10. Following: ~ 300 (really need to go through inactives, hmm) 12. Amount of sleep: insufficient (insomnia isn’t nearly as fun as it looks in games and on tv folks - it’s really, really bad for your health) 13. Lucky number: I like 7, but I think that’s just habit by now 14. What am I wearing: t-shirt style nightie (bc it’s bedtime, but I would totally support PJs for daily wear, just saying) 15. Dream job: Author, V/N editor, game proofreader 16. Dream trip: castles & old libraries 17. Favourite food: pizza and chocolate are way up there, but I like lots of different food - I dislike lentils, though (too bad, since they’re super healthy) 18. Play any instruments: piano (but my sight reading is horrible now); I can sing moderately well - does that count? 19. Languages: English (first); French (good); Spanish, German, Italian (all sort of - and I’m forgetting Italian quickly, it’s annoying) 20. A song from current writing playlist: Soldier by Samantha Jade (because of an AMV) 21. Random fact: I really like blue, and always have my keyboard backlit in blue, but apparently that’s not good for my sleep cycle. It seems unfair that my favourite colour contributes to my insomnia.
Question 11 is missing? Okay, how about: A favourite memory: telling my high-school D&D group that either the sexist jerk went (at least as DM) or I did, and having it settled immediately in my favour without protest (except from the offender ofc)

Shout out to @olivaraofrph and the amazing @victnam for inspiring and helping compile this task! There’s a masterlist below compiled of over 290+ Vietnamese faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever character or whichever project you desire.

This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags, @ mention us or send us a messaging linking us to your post!
THE TASK - scroll down for FC’s!
STEP 1: Decide on a FC you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick one for you at random!
STEP 2: Pick what you want to create! You can obviously do more than one thing, but what do you want to start off with? Screencaps, RP icons, GIF packs, masterlists, PNG’s, fancasts, alternative FC’s - LITERALLY anything you desire!
STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didn’t use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.
THINGS YOU CAN MAKE FOR THIS TASK - examples are linked!
Stumped for ideas? Maybe make a masterlist or graphic of your favourite faceclaims. A masterlist of names. Plot ideas or screencaps from a music video preformed by an artist. Masterlist of quotes and lyrics that can be used for starters, thread titles or tags. Guides on culture and customs.
