Monster Spotlight: Gogiteth
CR 12
Chaotic Evil Large Aberration
Kingmaker Bestiary, pg. 34-35
"Wait a dang second here!" You shout, holding up your copy of 2e's Monster Core and flipping to page 177, "This is a 2nd Edition monster!"
Correct! It was. Shortly after its terrifying debut in 2e, the Gogiteth was one of a treasured handful of monsters to be officially backported to 1e via the updated Kingmaker Bestiary for 1st Edition, a treasure trove which--as of this article's posting--has not been added onto the Archives of Nethys since it was released back in 2022. I've been waiting patiently for the AoN to update, but it looks like we may just not get the gems hidden within the Kingmaker's Bestiary on the official site! So you're going to have to just trust me that I'm not exaggerating anything about these monstrosities.
Straight out of a horror movie where an unseen menace picks off a party of delicious fools one by one, Gogiteth (which I will shorten to Gogi (pronounced goh-jee) from now on) inhabit the lightless tunnels of the Darklands, where their array of spiderlike limbs allows them to easily clamber across any surface and the countless jelly-like eyeballs across their body let them peer in every direction at once in search of prey. They're said to make cracking and popping noises with every jagged, skittering movement of their body, but this is actually for communicative purposes with other Gogis, alongside their strangely human whistling. Once they find a trail to follow (+23 to Survival) or otherwise detect prey, they can stop making any noise at ALL, going from a chorus of bony cracks to dead silent and creeping along with nary a whisper from their chitin rubbing together. All the better to get the drop on prey.
As for what they consider "prey," the list can be conservatively summed up as "everything." Gogi feed readily on anything that enters their sensory radius, ripping apart both flora and fauna with deceptively sharp claws and a bouquet of mouths... mouths which, if you zoom in really close on the picture, you'll note have dental arrangements worryingly close to those of a human. Being eaten alive by one of these things likely feels closer to being torn apart by zombies than anything else, and I want you to keep that in mind for no particular reason other than that if I had to think about it, you should too.
Statistically, Gogis are very plain, and serve a very obvious purpose: kidnapper encounters. They follow more or less the same script every encounter: walk up, bite, Grab, and drag away to finish off. If your party is facing one or more, you can safely bet they'll be doing exactly that pretty much every time. The problem is that they'll likely be doing it from ambush, and they'll be doing it so fast the party may not be able to react before some poor Rogue or Wizard is dragged screaming into the darkness! Gogi move at 40ft a round and can climb at 30ft, and their unique Carry Off Prey ability lets them move at full speed so long as they're not grappling anything bigger than themselves, which can lead to anyone unable to break the grapple being dragged straight up a cavern wall. And we all know what happens after: they get dragged into a crevice, and then a fountain of blood and ambiguous gore starts blasting out.
I mean, the best case scenario is that they break out of the grapple and only take 2d6 or 3d6 damage from the fall!
A Gogi's bite deals 4d6+7 damage and, as mentioned, Grabs anyone it hits. With a +25 to its grapple checks, it's going to take some serious muscle power (or Freedom of Movement) to break the thing's grip before its next round, where it will not only deal an additional 4d6+7 Constrict damage, but use Carry Off Prey to begin its retreat. Despite their wretched appearance, Gogi are actually intelligent ambush predators and behave with potentially frustrating realism once they've got prey in their mouths, fleeing at top speed with their meal rather than staying and fighting multiple foes at once. To this end, they also have Skittering Reposition, an ability that lets them move 10ft in any direction once per round when anything gets too close to them, no doubt thwarting the flurry of lethal attacks the Fighter or Barbarian was about to deliver.
Their bite is their main threat, being their highest damage attack with Grab and Constrict to make it worse, but they CAN slash with their two frontal claws for 1d6+7 damage each if forced to stand and make a Full-Attack, bu their claws are unlikely to come out in any situation but the use of their Skittering Assault. This attack is a standard action they can perform at will, moving up to 80ft in any combination of directions they desire and making a claw attack against up to three different targets. This Assault is most useful when they're fighting alongside their packmates, darting in and out of the enemy formation to deal minor damage but, more importantly, exhaust everyone's Attacks of Opportunity for the round so the Gogi closer to the end of the initiative order can leap in to kidnap and dispatch a few choice victims without fearing reprisal. Again, they're more intelligent than they look, and they even have their own language to help coordinate their assaults, using a series of communicative joint cracks and discordant whistles to keep the swarm fighting at peak efficiency.
While exposing yourself to 5 or 6 AoOs around might not SEEM intelligent, Gogi have the Mobility feat to help alleviate that danger to themselves. They have the tall order of 28 AC (32 against AoOs) despite their size! But thankfully, they have some severe weaknesses: aside from All-Around Vision, they have no defensive abilities or immunities (besides poison, which is more to let them feed without fear than it is to let them fight), falling easily if cornered and Full-Attacked by a buffed martial, shot from afar by a ranged attacker, or simply blown to smithereens by a mage. Just be wary that killing one doesn't mean the end, you need to reduce the pack to at least half its starting size before the rest consider this meal too tough and flee! ... If only to return, hours later, while the party sleeps.
The fact that these creatures, CR 12 on their own, are noted to be pack hunters and that seeing one of them is a sure sign there's a nest of them somewhere nearby makes me sympathize with every Darklands dweller whose first and only stress response is "fight." if you could, at any point, be vertically kidnapped by a spider from an insomniac's sketchbook and chewed to pieces before you even had a chance to realize you were dying, you might be a little punchy too.
You can read their 2e statblock here, because their 1e statblock does not appear to exist online. You can read the Creature Codex's take on them here, though!

Official “Jee ask”
BRO. JEE.
Istg. Jee.
That man.
Oh my lord.
THE SASS?? HELLO??
It’s soooo unserious. Every time I read his pov my highscore on the giggle-meter goes up.
he is my favorite non-sokka pov to read because of how hilarious his reactions are.
those eyebrow muscles must be swole as hell. Im serious. His eyebrow game must be studied.
I looovee his attitude bro
“Chang practically announced to the whole bar” when they were debriefing what went down in the SWT camp oh my god he is soooo dramatic
Or when he asks Bato “is this another one of your hypothetical scenarios?” Oh my goooodddddd 😭 I’m literally dying he is soo funny. And I don’t think he even realizes.
He is genuinely one of the most entertaining povs to read if I could make one of those “why we <do xyz>” list on “why we read liab” I’d definitely have “for Jee’s eyebrows” or “for Jee’s attitude” up there.
You know exactly how to write middle aged people who are just Done™ with everything.
That poor man cannot take one more problem added to his list and he will make sure of it.
In a way he kinda reminds me of V, (oh my god it’s been so long since I’ve thought about V) and her no-nonsense attitude
Okay I have so many more things to say but I’m not forming coherent thoughts right now, but basically this is the official
Jee Appreciation Ask™
We ❤️ Jee.
We ❤️ LIAB.
official Jee ask deserves the official LIAB Jee image:
@vintageskeletons for making this hahaha
I’m really glad the way I wanted Jee to come across translated well because an unintentionally intentional sassy old man who was fed up with everything while also caring extremely deeply about everything and everyone was my goal. Yayayayyayyy I’m glad you like him haha.
#Ughhh why did you have to bring up V!!?#There was a reality where I didn’t kill them and they fled and stayed alive but I was like ehhhh idk#They aren’t going to leave their home they’d rather die there(especially with V and her sentiments for that place)#& there’s no way Zhao wouldn’t have the power to eliminate them once he found out they were liars ha#But THANK YOU FOREST LESBIANS#you saved our boys haha#We wouldn’t have a three fic series without you!!#Sorry I went on a forest lesbian rant I loved them#RIP V EVE AND RUTH YALL WERE THE MVP#ok anyway that’s it. Glad you like jee#He doesn’t have a pov next chapter but bato does#& Jee is there so… it should be fun haha#Thanks for the amazing ask#Yall seriously make my day#Shit like this makes writing fanfic fun haha#Leaving it all behind#LIAB#ask

waiting game
sorry, i had to jump onto the 6x10 spec game. here's some bobby pov from the hospital, post-lightning strike. [read on ao3]
“Hey hon,” Athena says, leaning in to press her lips to Bobby’s cheek. “I brought you coffee. How’s he doing?”
“Thanks.” The coffee is a welcome offering – Bobby is exhausted. They’d been nearly through with their shift when Buck got hit, and he’s been sick with worry ever since. “He’s alright. Doctor’s say he’s stable. It’s just a waiting game, now.”
Athena’s eyes drift over to the open door to Buck’s hospital room. Bobby keeps his eyes on his coffee – the image of Buck’s broad frame somehow dwarfed by the crisp hospital sheets is burned behind his eyelids, and he doesn’t anticipate it going away anytime soon. It hurts to look at him for too long – but, then again, it all hurts, right now. Jagged pain behind Bobby’s breastbone, a reminder of every person he’s already lost. The only thing that would bring him relief would be the sweet burn of bourbon down his throat until he didn’t have to worry about things anymore, but that’s not something he can even consider, now or ever. The coffee is a poor replacement, but at least it’s warm.
“Has he been in there the whole time?” Athena says softly, hand reaching out to tangle with Bobby’s free hand, a warm weight that anchors him to his body, to the moment.
Bobby looks up, following her gaze to Buck’s bedside, where Eddie is folded into the too-small chair, his fingers tangled up with Buck’s own, unfeeling against the white sheets. “Yeah,” Bobby confirms.
“Poor boy,” Athena murmurs. She squeezes his hand, and for a moment, the weight of her hand in his echoes the two men in the hospital room in front of them – tethered together. A safety line.
Bobby has never been sure what, exactly, Buck and Eddie’s deal is. It’s none of his business – he’s always had faith that they would manage to figure things out for themselves. But it’s so, so obvious, no matter the nature of their relationship, that they don’t suffer from a lack of love. The love has always been there. He’d heard it, years ago, when Eddie had been buried in that well, and Buck was losing himself with panic. And he’d heard last night, when Buck was thrown from that ladder, and Eddie was ready to do anything to get him down.
The love, it seemed, was always coloured by pain: near death experiences and old traumas, shallowly buried. Bobby had watched them rebuild, this year, getting themselves back on solid ground. Together, always together.
And now they were falling again.
One could only hope that that love could pull Buck through this.
“Hey,” Athena says, her voice, as it so often does, pulling Bobby back to himself. “Are you okay?”
Is he okay? No, because he can’t help but think about worst case scenarios. Buck has been scrambling for solid ground for as long as Bobby has known him, and it seemed like he might be making his way there. What happens if he doesn’t pull through this? Bobby is left with a hole in his heart and his life? He never gets to see the life that he knows Buck has it in him to build? “I don’t know,” he tells Athena finally.
“He’s strong,” Athena says. “One thing I know about Buckaroo – he never gives up.”
Bobby closes his eyes. “I know.”
“So don’t you go giving up on him either.”
Bobby squeezes her hand. “I won’t,” he says.
“Hey!”
Bobby looks up to see Maddie and Chimney hustling down the hallway towards them. “Hey, guys,” Athena says, letting go of Bobby’s hand to pull them each into a brief hug.
“We got Jee-Yun set up with Albert,” Maddie says. She looks as exhausted as Bobby feels. Her eyes keep drifting back to Buck’s room, a compulsive motion, like she’s checking that he’s still there. “Any change?”
Bobby shakes his head. “Still the same,” he says. “Doctor says he’s stable, but that doesn’t mean much unless he wakes up.”
Maddie flinches almost imperceptibly at the implication, and Chim wraps his arm around her. “He’s stubborn,” he says softly, practically into her hair. “You know he’s fighting like hell in there.”
Maddie sniffs, nodding. “I know,” she says. She wipes at her face, eyes drifting back over to Buck’s unconscious figure. “It looks like Eddie hasn’t even moved since we left,” she says. “Is he doing okay?”
No, Bobby is fairly certain he isn’t. But then, none of them are. “He hasn’t said much,” he says.
Silence falls, and they all look at Eddie for a moment, at the empty, destroyed look on his face.
“You all should give him some company,” Athena suggests gently. “He looks like he could use some love.”
And that’s easy enough to agree to. Maddie and Chim make their way into the room – Chim squeezing Eddie’s shoulder, and Maddie brushing Buck’s hair back from his forehead. Eddie looks up when they come in, blinking hard like he’s surfacing from a nightmare.
“Hey,” Athena says, and Bobby turns his attention back to her. She looks tired, too, but she probably looks a hell of a lot better than he does. Athena has always been better at compartmentalizing than he has. “I’ve got to get to work, but you should get in there, too,” she tells him.
Bobby shakes his head. “He doesn’t need me.”
“He does,” Athena says. “When – Listen to me, when that boy wakes up, he should be surrounded by his family. That includes you.”
Bobby looks over, at Buck with his sister and her partner, and his… his Eddie. Whatever Eddie may be to him. The Buckley parents are conspicuously absent – Bobby knows they’re in town. It’s typical of everything he knows about them, that Buck’s life is hanging in the balance and they still won’t show up for him.
“Okay,” Bobby says finally. Buck deserves a parental figure at his bedside, even if it’s just a poor substitute. “You’re right.”
“Love you,” Athena says, leaning in for a goodbye kiss. “Now, you get in there and make sure that boy knows his whole family is waiting for him to wake up.”
And so Bobby sees her off, and then he claims his own tiny, uncomfortable chair and settles in for the long haul. Buck is strong, he reassures himself. He’ll pull through this. He has to.

I keep thinking about the post by @evcndiaz about Eddie marrying Marisol, having more kids with her, but cheating on her with Buck on the regular.
And that thing, that thing about more kids being there, witnessing it all - because it's not like they're trying to hide what they do - is probably gonna keep me up at night, because those poor kids.
I don't think Chris would be happy about them being there. He would care for them, he would be big brother Chris but like.... dialed to the bare minimum. He would care for them like he would care for step-siblings coming into the family, but not consider them 100% family.
(And how could he? His dad doesn't love their mother either.)
And Buck, oh, Buck's relationship with them could be so juicy. I see it going in a couple of ways. On the one hand, he could love them, a lot, just like he loves Chris, because it's Eddie's kids, and they're part of Eddie, and Eddie is a part of him, so how could he not love them? But he would resent Eddie for their existence for the rest of his life. He would still fuck him, of course. But maybe use it as a winning argument in all of their fights.
(Have I mentioned they would be really toxic? They would be really toxic).
Or he wouldn't care for those kids at all. He would go to Eddie's house all the time to spend time with his kid, but those kids? Why would he care for them? Why would he care for the physical manifestation of Eddie (legally) belonging to someone else? Those kids would see him be so good and caring with Chris, with Jee, with Denny, with Henren's new kid, but them???? Nothing at all.
Another scenario in my head is how they behave during Marisol's pregnancy. And they’re talking about who would be the children's legal guardian just in case, and Marisol would try to argue that her brother or her parents would be the best option and Eddie would argue that they should go to Buck, just like Chris, and Marisol would be so hurt, but truly what was she expecting?
(Buck would probably care for those kids in this scenario. But only if Eddie warned him about him being Eddie's legal guardian before their birth. He wouldn't take it too well to the news being sprung up on him).
And god, don't even make me think about how the rest of the 118 would feel about these kids or I will cry for days.

GUESS WHAT... I THINK I DID IT!!!
It has been so long since I have posted here. I started this blogging so that I can share my thoughts (truest thoughts) of how I feel during this journey of preparing for the JEE exam and its aftereffects. If you see my previous post, it would have sounded depressing as hell. But I am here to update you on my life. And this is going to be LOOONNGGG. so hold yourself up till the end.
So I give my JEE Advanced and when I calculate my score, it is known to be below par. Poor enough to make me forget my IIT dreams. The counseling starts, and I get production engineering from NIT, CALICUT. It is decent but not what I wanted to get. At this point, I lost HOPE in everything. Literally everything. I used to pray to god like crazy but then I didn't bother to pray at all. I thought I was not going to college this year. I will study for one whole year again to give JEE the next year. To see my friends get into the nicest colleges, I felt really really LOST (I am being real).
Though my parents were disappointed, they were still trying to boost my morale. They took me to a temple and I did some rituals and poojas but with literally NO HOPE. Every night I cried about how much of a fool I was on this journey to have wasted my potential.
But then one evening, I think I was watching a series or something. Maybe B99 (which u guys should definitely watch). My parents came rushing through my door only to say " YOU GOT INTO NTU." (In case you're wondering, NTU is in Singapore and is one of the finest universities in Asia). My mind just .... it just FROZE. I didn't know how to react. My mom was crying and my dad... shit even my dad was tearing up. I have never seen him that emotional in my life. But in front of my parents, I just didn't feel like expressing anything. I just acted like KAY, IT AINT A BIG THING. But it really is a HUGE thing for me. I just waited for their emotions to settle, I went into my room and took my laptop to search the god's name to whom I did the ritual and started praying and crying. At that point, I just gave god the credit for my acceptance.
YES. I got into NTU. Hell, I even completed my first semester here at NTU. Oh well, I am studying MECHANICAL ENGINEERING with a second major in DATA ANALYTICS. I think this is my happy place. I just want to say one final thing. Time is the biggest problem as well as the biggest solution (at times the ONLY SOLUTION) in a lot of scenarios. Either you use it or you wait for it to use you. In my case, I failed to use but it used me when it wanted to. It may not be such a big accomplishment for many, but for a guy who let down his parents, who thought he wouldn't go to college that year, who basically lost interest in life cuz his dreams went down the drain... I should say that the guy is HAPPY right now ( I am the guy if you're wondering who).
From here on, I will try to post frequently. and it may not be about JEE every time, but my name still wud be JEEOURNEY, cuz that's where it all started!!!

Season 6 episode 11
Oh dang. Buck’s parents are actually in LA while he’s in the hospital. That should go down in the history books.
‘Which one?’ Your brother who else. Oh he has a bunch of lines running over him.
Big bro Daniel??? Oh well this is gonna be a weird one.
Buck’s a teacher. Weird. This is very strange. Wait that ain’t Jee. Oh shit Doug is alive. Buck don’t stab him.
Oh yay normal world.
Oh Bobby is dead in bizarre world. Buck can’t breathe in normal world. Someone help the poor kid.
Oh he’s been put on ECMO. Uh oh. Dang Buck why you always so extra.
Buck is legit having a ‘it’s a wonderful life’ scenario. Fun.
I think this is one of the first times I’ve seen Chris in the same room as Buck. Rude. More Buck and Chris bonding please.
May has turned into Athena. Glad May is aware that she has another brother.
Right Buck time to wake the hell up. Hen and Howie of bizarre world are fun. Found Bobby but he’s supposed to be dead in this world. Weird. Ghost Bobby. Messed up ghost Bobby. Weird seeing Bobby like this. I don’t think I like it.
Yeah no I don’t like this Bobby.
Yeah but do you want to be seen by the Buckleys or do you want your family.
I’m waiting for Eddie in bizarre world but I don’t think it’s gonna happen. Rude. Maybe Athena.
Yesssssss Buck. That’s enough.
He abandoned bizarre Chris. You are definitely gonna feel guilty for that one for the rest of your days.
Fuck off bizarre Daniel. Bad Daniel. Oh shit he turned into an evil Buck. Kill it with fire. Wait Buck where did you get an axe.
No more bizarre world thank fuck.
“Some visitors” I think twelve people just walked in. Okay nine but still.
He didn’t tell Bobby about bizarre Bobby. Which honestly was a good idea.
This bugs me. Until Chim’s dad grows a pair and actually apologises himself I wouldn’t talk to him. That’s Albert and now his mum defending him. No you want back in your sons life you apologise, you talk to him no one else.
Oh no Mum found out he don’t have a couch. She’s gonna buy one he won’t like at all. Oh no she’s gonna redecorate the whole place. Good luck Buck.

Life At an Engineering College In India | Arya College
Engineering students in India face a unique set of challenges and experiences throughout their four-year degree program. From the intense competition to get into a top engineering college to the rigorous coursework and pressure to perform well, the life of an engineering student in India is anything but easy.
The Competitive Entrance Exams
The journey begins with the highly competitive entrance exams like JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Students spend years preparing for these exams, often joining coaching classes from as early as Class 8. The competition is fierce, with lakhs of students vying for a limited number of seats in the top engineering colleges.
Coursework And Academics
Once admitted, engineering students face a grueling academic schedule. Classes run from 10 am to 5:30 pm, leaving little time for anything else. The curriculum is heavy on theory, with a focus on subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Assignments and projects are constant, with students often pulling all-nighters to complete them.
Branch Selection
After the first year, students have to select their engineering branch. This is often a matter of chance, based on their rank in the entrance exam. Many end up in branches they are not interested in, simply because their rank wasn't high enough to get their preferred choice.
Campus Life
Despite the academic pressure, engineering students do manage to have a vibrant campus life. Most colleges have active student clubs and organizations, where students can pursue their interests in sports, cultural activities, and technical projects. Fests and events are a highlight, providing a much-needed break from the monotony of classes.
Placements
The final year is all about placements. Companies visit campuses to recruit students, with the process starting as early as July/August. The competition is intense, with students vying for a limited number of coveted jobs. Those who don't get placed in the first few days often have to settle for less preferred options.
Challenges And Contradictions
The life of an engineering student in India is full of challenges and contradictions. Many students end up in engineering not out of passion, but due to parental pressure or the perception of better job prospects. This leads to a lack of interest and motivation, which is reflected in the high dropout rates and poor quality of education. Moreover, the focus on theory over practical skills means that many engineering graduates lack the necessary skills to succeed in the job market. The pressure to perform well academically often comes at the cost of developing soft skills and pursuing other interests. Despite these challenges, the life of an engineering student in India is not without its rewards. The sense of camaraderie and support among classmates, the opportunity to learn and grow, and the potential for a bright future make it all worthwhile. Those who manage to navigate the challenges and stay true to their passion often go on to become successful engineers and entrepreneurs.
What Role Does Practical Training Play In Enhancing The Employability Of Engineering Graduates
Based on the search results, practical training plays a significant role in enhancing the employability of engineering graduates in India:
Practical Training and Employability: Studies have shown that engineering students who engage in practical training during their studies tend to have higher employability prospects after graduation. Practical training helps students develop job-relevant skills and apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
Mismatch Between Industry Needs and Academic Curriculum: There is often a mismatch between the skills required by industry and the curriculum taught in engineering colleges. Practical training helps bridge this gap by exposing students to industry practices and expectations.
Developing Soft Skills: In addition to technical skills, employers also value soft skills like problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and teamwork. Practical training programs provide opportunities for students to develop these crucial employability skills.
Experiential Learning Approaches: Institutes like BITS Pilani have incorporated experiential learning approaches, such as structured courses on business communication, professional presentations, and group discussions, to better equip students with the skills demanded by industry.
Competitive Programming: Initiatives that encourage competitive programming among engineering students have also been found to improve their problem-solving abilities and overall employability.
In summary, practical training, experiential learning, and competitive programming play a vital role in enhancing the employability of engineering graduates in India by helping them develop industry-relevant technical and soft skills.
There are so many colleges in India that give practical training to Engineering students but Arya College of Engineering & IT is The best Engineering College in Rajasthan.

Ok but Maddie as a child of an affair would add SO MUCH angst to the whole Buckley family plotline. The reason they had Buck in the first place was because Maddie was not a viable bone marrow match for Daniel, but if she's a child of an affair that would mean she literally can't have been one (well not technically but just assume the bio dad didn't have the right genes).
It might help alleviate some of her guilt related to Buck's childhood, but at the same time she's going to feel even more distant and unwanted in a family she already has a poor relationship with. Even better if she finds out in some way other than her parents telling her (maybe a DNA test or something), and has to figure out how or how not to break the news to them. Worst case scenario is that it leads to the Buckley parents divorcing and she then feels guilty about that (I can totally see "if you hadn't cheated on me Daniel would still be alive!" coming out of Phillip's mouth over dinner or something).
Maddie might also want to meet her biological father, which could lead to her actually getting a good parental figure in her life (which would be fantastic btw) and she could have a whole cute arc of getting to know him and building a relationship (ok imagine family dinners with Maddie, Chimney, Jee-Yun, the Lees, and Maddie's bio dad 🥰. The found family vibes would be immaculate).
Also poor Buck would have to deal with the fact that Maddie is only his half-sister, and I can absolutely see him getting an irrational fear that she won't love him as much or what to spend time with him or whatever now that they aren't full siblings, and Maddie has to affirm to him that all that matters is that they consider each other siblings and she cares about him just as much as ever.
I'm not sure I actually want the Buckley backstory plotline dragged up again, or how much it would do for Buck as a character (I think it would be great for Maddie but I can't imagine he would be unaffected), but this is so cool in concept.
now why did my mom just say “what if in s8 maddie finds out she’s not actually the buckley’s daughter or she was the child of an affair bc she doesn’t look like the rest of the family” and i would like to know why tf this woman who has never watched an episode of the show would eat at coming up with angst fic plots??
#reblog#911 abc#911 s8 speculation#not seriously though#maddie buckley#evan buckley#the urge to write this as a fic is nonzero

Enhancing Memory and Retention: The Role of Practice and AI-Powered Tools for Students
Introduction:
As students, we often find ourselves grappling with the challenge of retaining information for the long term. Whether it's remembering historical facts, scientific formulas, or mathematical techniques, our ability to recall and apply knowledge plays a crucial role in academic success. However, many students struggle to retain what they study, leaving them frustrated and hindered in their learning journey. This blog explores the reasons behind this struggle and presents effective strategies, including the utilization of AI-powered tools, to enhance memory and improve retention, with a particular focus on mathematics.
Understanding the Memory Challenge:
Human memory is a complex and dynamic process influenced by various factors. In the case of students, several reasons can contribute to difficulties in retaining information:
Lack of Engagement: Passive learning methods, such as reading or listening without active participation, often lead to poor memory retention. When students merely skim through material or mechanically memorize without understanding, the information fails to create meaningful connections in their minds.
Insufficient Practice: Memorization alone is not enough for long-term retention. Students must engage in regular practice to reinforce their understanding and create stronger neural connections. Without proper review and application, information quickly fades away from memory.
Ineffective Study Techniques: Students often rely on ineffective study techniques, such as cramming before exams or highlighting without deeper comprehension. These strategies provide short-term memory boosts but fail to promote durable learning.
Improving Memory and Retention:
To overcome the challenges associated with memory and retention, students can adopt several evidence-based strategies:
Active Learning: Actively engaging with the material through techniques like summarizing, explaining concepts to others, or creating visual aids helps solidify understanding and promotes better recall.
Spaced Repetition: Instead of cramming, spacing out study sessions over time allows for better long-term retention. Regularly reviewing previously learned material at spaced intervals strengthens memory and prevents forgetting.
Mnemonics and Visualization: Associating information with vivid mental images or creating mnemonic devices (acronyms, acrostics, etc.) enhances memory recall by leveraging visual and creative thinking.
Contextual Learning: Connecting new information with prior knowledge or real-life scenarios aids in creating meaningful associations. Relating concepts to personal experiences or visualizing their applications helps make them more memorable.
Practice and Application: Regularly applying learned concepts through problem-solving exercises, quizzes, and discussions solidifies understanding and strengthens memory recall.
The Role of AI-Powered Tools:

Man, I'm a thirsty hoe for hurt, comfort, and angst, but I am really frantic for how things are going to pan out with Maddie and Buck, once she comes back.
To send this ahead: I don't mean to criticize Maddie or to shift blame to a woman suffering from depression and being desperate to protect her family, no matter the costs. She needs help and I hope she finally finds it as she needs it.
I'm just interested, and a bit scared, for how this may affect her relationship with her brother.
Because Buck felt like she left him behind before. While he since understood where she was coming from with this, it has been his emotional reality. That's how he felt. To him, it felt like she left him behind. He missed her, and she wasn't physically or emotionally available for him.
It feeds into many of his deeply rooted insecurities. And those, he can't help either, even though he's in therapy. So having Maddie leave like that will be not only a blow to Chimney (POOR CHIMNEY, MY BABY!!! GIVE THE MAN ALL THE HUGS!!!), but it will have a great effect on him, too, I fear.
I could even see a scenario where that may be a catalyst for Buck's composure falling. Because right now, things pan out for him. He has that relationship with Taylor going on (even though we see some hints of different wants and needs in that relationship, but that's another topic). He is well settled with the 118. We know that he's spending time with his favorite Diaz boys. Buck feels validated in his role and his self-worth thanks to the conversation with Eddie and the will last season. And Jee-Yun is super adorbs
What more to ask for, right?
Makes it easy to forget what happened only a few months ago, right?
Right?
And while we see Eddie having a panic attack as a result of his struggle with his relationship, we also see first cracks that may hint at him coming to grips with his trauma about being shot. *fingers crossed that the writers don't brush that off again*
Interestingly, Buck is the one to point out to Eddie that getting shot can be anxiety-inducing. Well, so can be seeing your best friend (and love of your life...) get shot, boo. He worries for Eddie and empathizes with him. For what we got to see, he's doing just fine.
Right?
But maybe having Maddie gone will open the Pandora's box for him. Buck may go spiraling, thinking that his sister didn't trust him with herself and her problems, that he was not good enough as a brother to notice certain things, to make good on his promise to take that spot in her life and protect her.
That she leaves again, even though they promised something else.
Again, this is not to blame her, but on a narrative level, those pinky promises are an important theme between the two siblings. When Maddie told him he'd always have her, we just got this episode that highlighted Buck's headspace, the loneliness he felt, which in part inspired him to befriend Red - only for him to die. Having her leave after she promised to do the exact opposite, tracing back to that pivotal moment, is seldom arbitrary. So I guess we may get a callback to that scene at some point.
So I could see a scenario where Buck tries to brush it all off. Coz he didn't get shot. Coz he's in therapy. Coz his sister didn't leave him, even if it may feel like it, okay? Coz he still has his partner to rely on. And anyway, Uncle Buck to the rescue, right? He can go help Chim and Jee-Yun. He can be of use, even when his sister is not around to see it. Nonetheless, it keeps eating away at him. That he does well distracting himself, but that he still finds himself feeling that desolation again that he's felt by the time he met Red. Even though he should be fine. And anyway, it's not the first time this happened. He can deal with it, okay? He got the 118. And Eddie and Christopher.
Right?
So yeah, I think we could easily see him spiral down. Because healing is no linear process and all that.
But then maybe more tensions arise between him and Taylor about what they both want out of this relationship, moving forward. Maybe he clings more onto her, which may not be what she wants out of that relationship right now. Maybe Buck gets a painful callback to Eddie at gunpoint, thus sending him right back down to hell of what he seemingly brushed off, too, because he is happy and in a relationship and all is fine, right? All is going according to plan, yeah? It's on a clipboard, okay?
Because that would open up a chance for Buck to reflect on his trauma on-screen - just like Eddie still needs the space to deal with his. And ideally, they will somehow find a way forward together. Because even without the shipper goggles on, it was a trauma for both, so it'd make a lot of sense if their healing is just as closely interconnected. That they are the people who can facilitate each other in their healing, getting out of those headspaces, stopping the spiral down.
But back on topic: Buck may really be in for an emotional roller-coaster with Maddie leaving. Perhaps much so when she comes back. Because the two may have to have some very painful conversation once she does.
Because there'd be no bad guys in this scenario, just two people with different traumas finding very different ways to deal with their feelings. And in Maddie's case, her impulse to run is basically a worst-case scenario for a guy like Buck who's struggling with separation, who has the fear of being left behind deeply ingrained into his system.
And I am really curious to see how that will play out. While I firmly believe that the two will mend things between them just like I am sure Maddie and Chim will, it will be a struggle not just for her but also for the people she loves and cares for, including her brother.
So yeah, I see some great potential for angst there, but also an awesome narrative opportunity for Maddie and Buck to progress as characters. That Maddie finally realizes that running is not the way out anymore. That with a committed partner like Chimney, running is actually no longer an option. That she has to let people in and trust them to be by her side even when she finds herself at a low point in her life.
Which may very well boil down to Buck and Maddie both coming to that understanding of what not being alone actually means. For Maddie that she can't run from this. And for Buck that even if Maddie is not there, he is not alone by any means. Even if he may no longer be in a relationship, even if he may be a mess, he has people he can rely on - and who rely on him.
And if Buck winds up finding the support he'd otherwise gotten from Maddie... even more so if it is in the shape of that henley wearing guy who has too much panic and too little disco... all the better for me. *ahem*
So please excuse me while I remain... perfectly calm.

leaving home ain’t easy
madney, 2.7k, s5 speculation fic (sorta)
read on ao3
Chimney doesn’t think he’s ever been this tired in his life. Getting used to the whole dad thing has been hard enough, and now on top of it he’s pulling extra shifts to make ends meet, and staying up all night worried about his family. The sleep he does get is frequently interrupted by wordless cries, real or imagined. The only thing getting him from one day to the next is knowing that Maddie is even more tired than him. That he needs to be strong for her, and for Jee-Yun, for the family of his own that he finally managed to build. The thought of losing either of them, in any way, for any reason, is too much to bear. So he gets up in the morning and drinks two cups of coffee and kisses his beautiful daughter and aches to see the love of his life still in so much pain. He smiles as often as he can. Tries to smile enough for both of them until Maddie can again.
And he misses her. Even when she’s right in front of them, he misses her. He would do anything to take away even a fraction of her pain. Every day he tries to, and some days are better but most days are the same. So he just misses her, and loves her, and takes care of her as much as she’ll let him. Which is not as much as he’d like.
He does his best. To keep everything and everyone together and safe. To keep smiling for Jee. And he knows Maddie is doing her best too. More often than not, he feels like he’s spinning too many plates with not enough hands and something is bound to shatter. It won’t be like this forever. Things will get better. She will get better. Sometimes, though, it’s hard to remember that.
And he’s just so goddamn tired.
The day the blackout finally ends, he gets home from one of the longest shifts of his entire life practically sleepwalking through the door. All he wants is to collapse into bed next to Maddie and fall asleep to the sound of her breathing, content with the certainty that she’s safe and within arms reach.
As soon as he walks into their bedroom to see the bed pristinely made with a crisp white sheet of paper resting on the pillowcase, an alarm bell goes off in his head. Jee isn’t in her crib. Maddie is nowhere to be seen. Dread rips through his body like an icy wind.
Chimney snatches up the note. It takes him too long to read. The words seem to spin around on the page, and the pounding of his heart is so loud he can barely hear his own thoughts.
My love,
I’m so sorry. I had to leave. I couldn’t keep hurting you and our daughter by staying. You both deserve so much better than me, and I never deserved anything as good as either of you.
Please don’t try to follow me. I promise you’ll be better off without me. I’ll be safe, just somewhere else. And you can be happy.
Jee is with Anne. Tell her I’m sorry, and I’ll miss her every day. Tell her it’s for the best.
Love forever and always,
Maddie
The paper falls from his hand, and he has Athena’s number dialed before it hits the ground.
“I’m sorry, Chimney, but we can’t file a missing person’s case in this scenario unless there’s evidence of foul play,” Athena says after he breathlessly explains the note. Her voice is strained with exhaustion. With everything she’s been through in the past week, he feels terrible asking her for help. But his chest is twisted up so much he can’t breathe and his mind is twisted up so much he can’t think and he needs to do something.
“She could hurt herself, or…” The words stick in his mouth, coated with tar. Chimney swallows. “Or worse. Athena, I can’t lose her.”
Athena sighs deeply. As exhausted as Chimney feels, he’s sure Athena is in an even worse state after everything she’s been through in the past week. “Give me a minute,” She says.
He paces around the kitchen for what seems like hours, his thoughts slipping further and further down a spiral. Every time he pulls one back up, another falls even further. He’s just about to bolt out the door and start wandering the streets of LA screaming Maddie’s name when Athena’s voice comes back through the receiver. “Bobby’s going to come pick you up and take you to the airport. You call Buck and tell him to check the train station. I’ll have my people at the station keeping an eye out for any concerning calls with someone matching her description.”
A plan. They have a plan. And he has help. He’s not alone. Chimney takes a shaky breath, “Thank you so much.”
“Well, I know how you’re feeling right now and I wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy.” Athena replies.
“How is Harry doing?”
“He’s safe and home. That’s about all we can ask for.”
Chimney nods, even though he knows Athena can’t hear him. “He’ll be alright. He’s a tough kid.”
“And your Maddie is the toughest woman I know. You’ll bring her home, too.”
He thanks her again and hangs up, dialing Buck’s number as soon as the call ends. If he keeps moving forward, keeps steady with this plan, then maybe he’ll get through this. Or at least get through the next few hours.
If he stops to think, he knows he’ll drown.
“Maddie did what? ” Buck cries out.
“She left. I don’t know where she went,” Chimney reiterates, passing his hand over his eyes. “So, listen, I need you to—”
“Is she okay? Is Jee okay? When did this happen?” He hears Buck’s car keys jingling in the background, like he just picked them up.
“Buck, focus. Jee is fine, no idea about Maddie. That’s why we need to go find her. Can you head to the train station?”
“Well, what about the airport? Maybe she went back to Hershey to stay with our parents or an old friend. I could go there and—”
“Just listen for a second,” Chimney snaps, then immediately regrets it. This is Buck’s sister after all. He’s loved her even longer than Chimney has. He softens his voice. “Please. I’m scared too, but we have to work together. Me and Bobby are going to the airport, you head to the train station. Can you think of anywhere else she might go?”
“Uh, I don’t know." Buck sounds a little bit like a chastised puppy. But he stays on track this time. “I’ll call Josh on my way, see if he knows anything. My parents too, I guess.”
“Thank you,” Chimney says. His phone buzzes with a text from Bobby saying he’s outside of his apartment and he rushes out the door. “I gotta go. Let me know if you hear anything at all.”
“Yeah, of course, Chim. You too.” He pauses for a moment. “We’re gonna find her, right? We have to.”
Chimney sighs, already halfway down the stairwell. “I sure fuckin’ hope so, Buck.”
He jumps into Bobby’s car without a word, and they take off towards LAX. The tension in his jaw is starting to hurt, but he can’t relax. Any thoughts of sleep have vanished from his mind, although he knows that beneath the adrenaline the exhaustion is lying in wait.
Mrs. Lee responds to his text asking when Maddie dropped Jee-Yun off. About an hour ago. Poor thing looked dead on her feet. The two of you should let me watch this little angel more often like you used to!
If Mrs. Lee knew anything about Maddie’s plan, she would’ve called. As much as Chimney would love some encouraging words from her right now, he can’t bring himself to worry her until he has to. We’ll keep that in mind. Thanks so much!
He sends a silent prayer to who-the-hell-knows that they’re not too late. If Maddie’s caught a plane or a train, he doesn’t know if he’ll ever be able to find her, let alone get her back.
“I know how much you love her, Chim,” Bobby says, his voice breaking through Chimney’s spiraling thoughts. “And I hope we find her as much as anyone. But if we can’t, it’s not your fault. Sometimes people just don’t want to be found.”
Chimney wishes he knew what to say to that. Wishes he could form a response without the threat of his voice cracking.
Bobby keeps driving and Chimney watches endless monotonous buildings blur past the window. He usually likes LA. People crack jokes about the traffic and the smog and the wannabe-celebrities. Hell, he does too. But he’s lived here for most of his life, through ups and downs, through terrible losses and his wildest dreams coming true. This city has hand-delivered him the greatest family he’s ever known.
In this moment, he’s never hated LA more.
“I can’t lose her, Bobby,” Chimney finally says. A tear spills down his cheek.
Bobby says nothing, just reaches over and places a hand on Chimney’s shoulder.
The rest of the drive goes by achingly slowly, in comfortable but heavy silence. They’ve almost reached the airport when Chimney’s phone buzzes with a text from Buck.
No sign of her at the train station. Can’t get a hold of our parents. Josh has no idea. Gonna help him call around to hospitals in the area.
The tightness in Chimney’s chest squeezes more with every word, until hospitals hits him like a semi-truck.
He can’t think about that now. He can’t. Maddie is okay. She has to be. And he’ll take her home, and get her the help she needs here, where he’s only ever a traffic-dependent number of minutes away, and he can see her every day and hold her hand and tell her how much he loves her until she finally believes it, even if he has to say it thousands of times a day for the rest of their lives.
The car hasn’t even rolled to a stop outside departures before Chimney is out the door. Bobby calls out after him something about parking but Chimney doesn’t catch it and, right now, he doesn’t really care.
When he gets inside the airport he immediately ambushes the poor, dead-eyed employee at the information desk, cutting the line of twenty protesting patrons. “When’s the next flight to Philadelphia taking off?”
A bewildered expression replacing his dead stare. He blinks at Chimney, then types something on his computer. “Uh. 30 minutes. But it’s booked.”
“Makes no difference to me. Just tell me the gate number and get me any ticket that’ll get me through security. Preferably a cheap one.”
“Sir, you can’t—”
“Listen, man. I promise you I have a good explanation. It’s a real tear-jerker of a story, too. But I really don’t have time to tell it, and it would be much easier to just sell me the ticket now and get me out of your hair.”
Five minutes later, he’s shelled out $400 for a flight to Montana that he’ll never step foot on and is schmoozing his way to the front of the security line. The words fall out of his mouth before he knows what he’s saying. My grandmother has less than a day to live, I just have to make my flight. My wife is in labor, I just have to make my flight. My kid suffered a traumatic brain injury and is finally able to play his first baseball game again, I just have to make my flight. Anything to get people to let him skip through the security line they’ve been waiting in for God knows how long. He would tell the truth, but it feels so mixed up and raw and intimate that lying comes much easier. Somehow he makes it to the front of the line and through security in less time than it usually takes him to find parking here.
And he takes off at a dead sprint through the terminal.
His heart breaks more with each step. He’s not going to make it. He has no idea if this is even the right flight. Or if she’s here at all. He’s going to lose her. Lose the best person and the best life he’s ever had. He should just let her go. It’s selfish to make her stay if it’s not what she wants.
He can’t possibly let her go. Not like this.
He runs past hundreds of people, thousands. But he knows, he knows , that none of them are Maddie. Something in him would stop him dead in his tracks. Would lead him right to her. In the blur of faces and bodies, he knows Maddie will stick out, clearer than HD.
And she does. Sitting at the otherwise empty gate for the flight to Philly with a carry-on suitcase at her feet, staring out the window at the place where the plane must have just been. Looking as beautiful as ever, but so empty and so tired that, despite the relief that floods his body, the pain in his chest remains, sharper than ever. He slows to a stop twenty feet away from the person he loves most in the world, save for the person they made together.
“Maddie.” He breathes her name, too quietly for her to hear. Disbelieving of his luck, he cautiously approaches her, like she’s a mirage that will disappear at the wrong angle.
When she finally turns and sees him, her eyes widen for a moment, her body tensing. And then her shoulders slump in defeat.
Chimney sits down in the chair next to her. What now?
“Hi,” He says simply.
He’s almost surprised when she responds. “Hi.”
“You had us worried there for a minute.” Chimney’s not sure if that’s the right thing to say. He’s not sure if there is a right thing to say.
Maddie takes a deep breath. Her eyes are puffy and red, and a tear rolls down either side of her face. “I couldn’t do it.” Chimney takes her hand in his own and nearly falls apart when she clings tightly to it. “I was trying to do the right thing. I was trying to set you free. Set you both free. But I couldn’t…” She shrugs helplessly. “I couldn’t leave.”
“Well I, for one, am damn grateful for that.” Chimney’s voice cracks halfway through the sentence. And then they’re both sobbing into each other’s shoulder in the middle of the bustling airport, and Chimney doesn’t know how it’s possible to feel so much joy and so much pain at the same time. Like at any moment his chest might burst open from the sheer force of it.
After several long minutes, Maddie’s breathing comes more evenly, and he pulls back to look her in the eye, wipes her tears with his thumb. “Let’s go home, Maddie. And in the morning, we can get you checked into that inpatient program that Dr. Bolsaro recommended. We’ll get you the help you need. Here. We need you here, and I think you need us too. It’s okay to need us.” Maddie stares at him through her tears, her expression still just as hollow. He knows she doesn’t believe him yet. But that doesn’t mean he’ll stop telling her. “We all want to help you. You’re worth every second. All of it. You’re worth everything.”
“I’m not,” She whispers. Chimney’s already fragmented heart shatters into even smaller pieces.
“I swear to you, you are. You don’t have to believe me. You just have to stay, and let us prove it to you.” He stands, and holds out his hand. He isn’t sure if she’s going to take it. But he hopes, and he hopes, and he tries to believe that the hope will be enough.
She holds his gaze. Then turns to the window, her eyes fixed on the spot on the tarmac where the plane took off to her wretched old life. The life she thinks she still deserves. The plane she didn’t get on anyway.
And then she turns back to Chimney. And she takes his hand.

Since tim forgot that 911 og is airing, so we still don't know what the hell will happen in 5x04, I demand a scene of buck that takes care of Jee to let the poor chim finally sleep, but he wasn't prepared that newborn are a lot different from kids so he has some difficulties and so he goes or he invitates chris and eddie to help him so we have a brenna buckley-diaz family scene. Who do I have to kill to obtein this?
Listen I'm not trying to manipulate Uncle Buck into my buddie agenda but,,,,,,,,,,,can you imagine. I wouldn't be angry about a scene of Buck at his wit's end and he calls Eddie, and he comes over with Chris, and any scenario from there would be golden.

Advantages of studying in CBSE Board over state boards
It has always been a never-ending discussion whether you should opt for the CBSE or the State Board. In formulating an opinion on this issue, the community of parents (and students) is divided. Many make poor decisions, which ultimately have a serious impact on the students’ careers. It is important that you critically analyse the scenario before deciding on choosing a state board school or CBSE School in Yelahanka, Pune, Chennai, Mumbai or any other city.
Let's begin with a brief overview of both boards.
Understanding the State Board of Education
Each state has its own government board and administrative authorities have control over the relevant state's education ministry. The structure of education and the curriculum differ from state to state. It becomes particularly challenging during the application process for any centralized institution. Frequently, their syllabus does not meet the expected criteria. However, if a student decides to continue his or her education at one of the state's colleges, this can be a significant advantage. It is primarily due to the fact that the kids are already familiar with the state's educational system.
Understanding the CBSE Board of Education
CBSE is the abbreviation for the Central Board for Secondary Education. It is our country's national board. The educational materials and teaching methods are in line with the country's national interests. CBSE is in charge of the important nationalized competitive tests, such as JEE.
CBSE is believed to be more difficult than state boards, but it is also considered to be more student-friendly and engaging for learning. Those who want to pursue higher education in Nationalized Institutions rather than State Institutions will benefit from the board.
Basic benefits of joining a CBSE Board
CBSE has several benefits over national councils. A few of them are listed below:
1. CBSE is much more student friendly than state boards. Its course format aims to ensure that students are not confronted with a lot of pressure and the curriculum is interactive and interesting. There are also several interesting exercises to help students learn in an activity based manner for better understanding. It makes the entire information transmission process effective and beneficial for them.
2. CBSE examinations also lead to a positive student atmosphere. Every effort is made to ensure that students learn through the entire process of assignments and exams. Rote learning does not help you. The papers and tasks are designed to test how well the students have understood the practical applications of the concepts through a case based approach.
3. If you wish to carry out further studies from a centralized institution such as an IIT or AIIMS, the CBSE curriculum is certainly very helpful. The preparatory examinations for these institutions are organized by CBSE. Thus, if you have completed your primary and secondary education in the CBSE Board, you will have a strong base to start from while preparing for these competitive exams.
4. CBSE not only provides students with high-quality education but also promotes physical and mental well-being. It encourages students to participate in sports in conjunction with schoolwork and places great focus on child growth. It trains them to be good citizens and well-rounded individuals.
Apart from these boards, there are 2 other boards that people enrol their kids into - IGCSE and ICSE.
IGCSE board is more prominent among people living in Tier 1 or the capital cities. For example, in Bangalore, you can find some of the top IGCSE schools in Yelahanka and nearby areas. A similar scenario exists for the ICSE board. Overall though, CBSE is definitely a preferred choice among the parents.
To conclude, we hope that by now you have a good understanding of the advantages that the CBSE Board holds over various other boards, even at the state level. Don’t forget to do thorough research based on your requirements before making the final decision.

Portal to extend logistics support to needy JEE (advanced) aspirants Subscribe - https://ift.tt/2BvgxbE Facebook - https://ift.tt/3hRxoWV Twitter - https://twitter.com/EducationCaree6 Pinterest - https://ift.tt/2YpDlCG Tumblr - https://ift.tt/2NmT92U Blog - https://ift.tt/2NhbzC6 #Exam #Recruitment #Result #School #College #Study #NEP #New_Education_Policy #Admission NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi with support from other alumni associations and its students as well as other IITs is setting up a portal to extend logistics support to needy JEE (advanced) aspirants. IIT-Delhi, which is the nodal institute for the conduct of the JEE (advanced) scheduled for September 27, 2020 has appealed to its community and good samaritans to help needy students reach the exam centres. V Ramgopal Rao, director, IIT-Delhi also said that the IIT community will also try to extend help to JEE (main) aspirants. Rao has also appealed to State governments and local administration for support in the conduct of the entrance test. Primarily aimed at helping the JEE (advanced) aspirants, any candidate in need of logistics to reach the exam centre can register at the portal. In his appeal to current students, alumni of IITs and good Samaritans, Rao said: "As citizens, we need to stand up together in times of crisis and help each other. If I am in a village and got a car, and if there is a poor student who needs to go to the examination centre and cannot afford private transport, I would take the student to the examination hall. I would do it entirely free of cost. That's such a natural thing to do. I hope to hear such stories after the examination is over." "Though the window is small, we would also try to help JEE (main) aspirants as well. We are coordinating with the other IITs and alumni associations to set up the portal. JEE (advanced) aspirants who may need support can register from September 11," added Rao. Generally, the computer based test is conducted across 700 centres. However, in order to maintain the social distancing protocol due to the pandemic the number of centres have been doubled. The IIT director also appealed to the state authorities for support in smooth conduct of the exams. "The number of examination centres are doubled this year for all examinations. For JEE (advanced) we are looking at allocating 95-99% of students their first choice as the examination centres. State governments need to come on board. Local administration needs to arrange special buses and make special provisions for students taking these examinations," said Rao. Assuring that the exams will be delivered safely and securely, Rao said that while all IIT faculty members and staff are directly involved in the conduct of these examinations and many of them will be present personally in the examination centres, "will be personally visiting at least 4 JEE Advanced centres myself in the Delhi NCR region to ensure smooth conduct of the examination." JEE (advanced) chairperson Professor Sidharth Pandey of IIT-Delhi, said: "We will make sure to implement social distancing measures as per Government of India guidelines in current scenario of COVID-19 to ensure health and safety of the candidates. Adequate measures will be implemented for the safety of all without compromising the high standards, sanctity, and fairness in conduct of our examination. Candidates will also be asked to adhere to guidelines and new processes for social distancing and hygiene to ensure safety and health of their own and fellow candidates. For safety purposes, we strongly advise candidates not to bring anything other than permitted items. However, in case of an unavoidable situation, there will be arrangements to store the bags at centres at owner's risk." Source: https://ift.tt/3gE0VBq
