Why do you think Basil's parents don't come around often? Different people have different ideas of what they do and why they can't visit that extend beyond being merely "busy".

If you ask me I'd say that Basil's parents like work more than raising children

lol yeah i do think its a bit sketchy for BASIL's parents to simply just not be around. A part of me thinks that BASIL's parents (tw family sensitive topic) weren't so kind to the idea of BASIL in the beginning. In other words maybe its because BASIL by nature is portrayed as a shy or soft spoken person where BASIL's parents disliked and found disappointing. Also considering the fact that BASIL loves taking care of plants and flowers. If BASIL's parents were a conservative couple, I would assume that having a boy being taken by flowers would upset them in some way. In the game, it doesnt seem that the parents come home at all or at least stay away from home for long periods of time and leaving.

I would also think that maybe since the MARI incident, BASIL's mental state was spiraling causing him to be distant or "difficult" to his parents. Not that it excuses them but :<

Of course i have no idea if any of my hcs are substantiated in any way, to me its just a thought process. It really could be because his parents are total workaholics and don't care about BASIL either anymore or in general. But considering how the sleepover taking place within SUNNY's final days before move, we still don't see parents. Or even when BASIL and SUNNY were hospitalized. HECK, BASIL's mental state in general is already raising sirens that they simply just arent around. I just think its a matter 1.) theyre dead, 2.) they dont care, or 3.) basically any other theory out there.
