So : Are you kidding me Sean?

S : C’mon, give me a chance, I’d treat you like a Queen…

So : Like the way you have been, right? Disrespecting my boundaries, over and over again.

S : You know what, at least I fight for what I want… Your boy over there, however, he’s been with Jas… Why do you think she slapped him?? It’s because they’re f*cking.

So : Sean, that is vulgar…

S : Maybe, but it’s true… Just wait and see.

* Meanwhile, Autumn and Blakes are chatting *

A : Did you see what I just saw? I mean, I know he’s shitfaced, but I… I didn’t know he liked her like that.

B : Hard to believe that… He has been all over her ever since I stepped foot in this damn villa… But why the f*ck is he still trying, hasn’t Sophie shut him down enough already?

A : She… what?

B : Yeah, and I was literally sitting right there when she did it… I’m so over this triangle. [walks away]

[Oscar held Byrd tightly, stroking his back until his sobs subsided somewhat] Oscar: LET’S SEE WHAT WE CAN DO… [Oscar plonked Byrd outside as he rummaged through his bags, eventually producing a backup pair of hearing aids] Oscar: Better? [Byrd nodded gratefully, burying his snotty nose in his father’s hair as he threw his arms around him] Oscar: Maybe you ought to think twice about learning SSL. Byrd: What’s the point? No one else knows it. Oscar: Robin does, and we all know bits n’ pieces, don’t we? [Byrd grumbled disinterestedly] Oscar: I think it’s long overdue, pal-.. what if we all learn it together? Properly this time. Byrd: I guess… Oscar: All I heard was yes. Byrd: Are you deaf too? Oscar: [snorts] C’mon, we’ll probably find the other pairs as we clear up. Wren: Daaaaad, it’s raining! Oscar: The faster we get goin’, the faster we’ll be in the car-.. I bet Wren can pack up faster than you. Byrd: [gasps] NO WAY! [rain pattering]

A very TUA Halloween - comic

This labour of love has left me frantically creating into the wee hours of Halloween morning just to get it up in time.

As my first time drawing the entirety of The Nightmare Siblings, I'm happy to have gotten a version of them down on 'paper', I want to get more confident portraying them, but a start is a start!

Either way, this was fun, and who doesn't want to see these guys pumpkin carving?

Jesus was really right when he said the poor will always be with us. A lot of christians have struggled with Matthew 26:11, and it has caused a lot of people to subconsciously justify a de-prioritizing of the poor; we can bedeck our churches in opulence while people starve. We can make priorities of everything that makes our lives easier, and leave the hard work of caring for the poor for later, for our "thoughts and prayers." The poor will always be with us, so they can wait while we attend to our internal hungers.

I think what Jesus meant is that human greed will corrupt every system, which will always result in poor or disenfranchised people. We've tried a bunch of different socio-economic structures since then, and not one of them has worked to uplift all people. The eternal struggle against evil isn't about fighting off intangible demons, it's about fighting off the evil in our own hearts. We are never going to construct a "perfect system" that eliminates poverty automatically because someone will always try to take advantage of it. Instead, we must work every day, even when things are good and people are taken care of, to make sure that we see each other as deserving of dignity. We are never going to be able to legislate, dictate, or delegate our way into perspective. We have to work towards it, consciously, to make sure those around us are cared for. Vanity of vanities, a generation goes and a generation comes, but the poor remain forever.

The poor will always be with us because someone is always going to try and profit by depriving others. It is our mission and responsibility to improve as much of it as we can.

Stupid little headcanon.

As Nyx gets older the people in his life slowly start to come to a realization.

Nyx is not like Rhysand, most certainly not. He gets into arguments with his father daily, he refuses to train at the Illyrian camps and doesn't approve of fighting to kill. He doesn't have the snarky, relaxed, flirtatious personality Rhysand has. In fact, he can be quite cold and very sharp. He has a quick wit and fiery tongue, one could say he has a... forked tongue.

He is nothing like Feyre either. He is not outgoing or highly adventurous, all of his soft spots are carefully concealed. He prefers books to painting or going to meetings. And he prefers tasteful ballroom dancing to going out to Rita's and partying.

Nyx is not Feyre or Rhysand.

Nyx is like Nesta.
