ive been drawing star wars refs again lol. im playing dollies
i changed polydegmon's design a little bit. his hair is still kind of emet hair but it's curly now for extra Glamour. hes so cute. my evil wife
i also fixed up pfeil's a bit. it was actually the first paper doll style ref i had ever done and was beginning to look kind of. dated. especially because i did a new one for regular miqo pfeil based on it and changed his face. so i just made them more consistent between one another
my next thing i need to do is go over pfeil's existing clothes and remove visible fasteners like snaps, buttons and zippers. that is a big star wars no no, like it's one of the rules george lucas established. i knowwww they do it in disney era and that the basic designs still look plenty star warsy. but star wars living history blog.
#i also have committed a bit of a sin by having polydegmon and pfeil both like#plastered with faction symbols#with polydegmon it's like#part of the design of his little casual white ensemble but tastefully. artfully. its fine#its probably also fine with pfeil given he's a rebel pilot who doesnt gaf whether he lives or dies#like its fine to wear a faction symbol that might get you shot if you lowkey want to get shot

Character Intro: Ascalaphus (Kingdom of Ichor)
Nicknames- My boy by Acheron
Darling by Orphne
Age- 17 (immortal)
Location- The Underworld
Personality- He's a broody yet eccentric young god who loves intellectual pursuits, gothic aesthetics, & a deep appreciation for classic literature and art. He's currently single.
He has the standard abilities of a god. His other powers/abilities include limited chlorokinesis (as it pertains to plants & flowers native to the Underworld), limited necromancy, being able to communicate with/shapeshift into a screech owl, limited umbrakinesis (shadow manipulation), and limited hydrokinesis (as it pertains to the waters of his father's river).
Ascalaphus is the only child of his parents- Acheron (Titan god of pain) & Orphne, a lampade.
He lives with his parents at their mansion in the Underworld. Ascalaphus' room is on the third floor. The bedroom door is built out of blackwood & there's also a terrace where he can overlook his father's river. The flooring is black marble while the walls are brimstone- covered in posters of his favorite bands, singers, movies, and deities. Instead of a laptop, there's an antique typewriter. In his room there's a simple trundle bed covered in dark blue satin pillows & black quilts, white onyx shelves for his book collection, as well as his blue-black iCHOR Tech wireless speaker that's automatically connected to Musify.
Ascalaphus is his father's twin with their olive skin, brown-black eyes, and facial features with the only difference being their frames. Acheron has a lean muscular build while his son has a bit more muscle. He feels like his mother feels left out because she doesn't look like them with her brilliant dark blue eyes, dark obsidian skin, and thick curly hair.
He's fluent in Latin.
He keeps his ink black hair short & shaggy.
Ascalaphus has a few tattoos- large owl wings on his back, a pair of dark blue eyes (dedicated to his mom) on the inside of his left wrist, a skull surrounded by black dahlias on his right arm, and the quote "What nourishes me destroys me" written in latin on his left pec. His good friend Achlys (goddess of the death mist, poison, misery, & sadness) did the tattoos.
A go-to drink for him is beer. He also likes red wine, pomegranate brandy, his dad's jallab, his mom's homemade blackberry iced tea, ginger ale, hot chocolate, black tea, mineral water, and cola.
Ascalaphus primarily writes in cursive.
For breakfast he'll typically go to a corner store to get a sausage, egg, & cheese on a hero on toasted rye bread. If he's gonna be on time for school, he'll have a bowl of steel cut oats topped with dark chocolate chips and maple syrup, a bowl of Earthly Harvest raisin crunch cereal, or his mom's omelette- added with black olives, mushrooms, & ghost peppers.
Ascalaphus loves listening to classical, synth pop, folk, rock, heavy metal, rap, and death metal music. His favorite musical artists to listen to are Moros (god of doom), O, & the death metal rap band Death Theater- comprising of Hades, Charon (Ferryman of the Underworld), his friend Hypnos (god of sleep), and Thanatos (god of death). He also thinks that Pale Blu isn't too bad either.
He's currently a freshman at Polydegmon University, the most prestigious college in the Underworld. Ascalaphus has a full ride- a four year scholarship, thanks in part to his father as well as the king. He doesn't live on campus, an agreed compromise with his parents. Even though it's too early to declare a major, Ascalaphus is thinking about majoring in botany or art history.
Thus far his favorite class has been his gothic literature class taught by his professor- a lampade named Ms. Whiteveil. The sound of her velvet smooth voice while she reads poems and short passages automatically calms him.
He loves snacking on ash plum flavored gummy spiders. He also likes spicy mushroom flavored kettle cooked potato chips & black anise licorice twists.
Ascalaphus has a job of sorts. He tends to the garden of the king of the Underworld, Hades (god of the dead). The orchard is primarily filled with black dahlias, frost orchids, black thorned roses, and shadow blossoms. He actually likes working in the garden. It's one of the few moments where Ascalaphus is alone with his thoughts for self-reflection. He also doesn't mind the company of the king. Hades will bring him a small cup of dark roast coffee or will lend Ascalaphus a book from his extensive library.
He also earns extra money by picking up groceries for Geras (god of old age) & by dog-sitting Cerberus sometimes.
There's a small restaurant downtown in Plouton Square that makes the best jjajangmyeon (noodles & diced pork in black bean sauce). It's a frequent takeout order for him.
All though Ascalaphus loves his parents, he feels like they're keeping him on a tight leash, especially his father. They didn't even want him to live on campus in a dorm and they especially don't want him to leave or travel out of the Underworld to any of the other realms- Olympius in particular. The Realm of Darkness is all he ever knows and Ascalaphus just wants the chance to experience something new, something different.
At school his social circle consists of cyclopes named Osric, Sybil, & Quintessa (Tessa for short), a harpy named Xerxes, a lampade named Azura (a botany major), as well as mortals named Caspian (a art history major), Rosalind, and Venetia.
Ascalaphus in undecided about whether or not to join the University's fraternity. Osric is a member.
Outside of school he's real good friends with Theodon (god of reality, uncertainty, & fate). They hang out together all the time. They smoke weed sometimes (through use of a Stygian Iron bong) & Ascalaphus will invite Theo to play basketball with him, Osric, Xerxes, and Caspian every weekend at Shadowstone Park. Theodon even tagged along to Ascalaphus' first college party!
He really liked going to the film premier of Blooddancer with Theodon. Ascalaphus even got to briefly meet the director of the film Keres (goddess of violent death). The photo of them meeting is framed & on his dresser. He also saved the ticket stubs!
In the pantheon he's also friends with Despoina (goddess of the arcadian mysteries, frost, winter, & shadows).
Also in the pantheon Ascalaphus respects and admires Nyx (goddess of the night) Erebus (god of darkness), as well as his "honorary" aunts & uncles, the other Underworld river deities- Phlegethon (Titan god of fire), Lethe (Titaness of forgetfulness, oblivion, & concealment), Styx (Titaness of hatred), and his godfather Cocytus (Titan god of wailing & lamentation).
He also admires Favian (god of philosophy) & is a fan of his steampunk historical fantasy book series The Machinery of Alchemists.
The iCHOR Tech soundproof headphones are great when Ascalaphus is working on an assignment or blocking out the sounds of his parents' lovemaking.
Sometimes (without his parents knowing), Ascalaphus will travel out-of-realm to Olympius to pick up Theodon from school. He pretends not to care as Theo drones on and on about a fellow schoolmate Heimarmene (Marnie) (goddess of shared fate). One day while Ascalaphus was waiting for Theo where he noticed him walking down the school's steps with Marnie and another girl. He thought she looked like winter's light with her flawless pale skin and shimmery silver eyeshadow on her eyelids. Her smile was just as bright as she tucked away strands of her short bouncy golden light brown hair behind her hair. When Ascalaphus asked Theo about her when he got in the car, he said that she was Marnie's best friend Eiresione (Ren) (goddess of offerings).
His favorite frozen treat is dark chocolate ice cream topped with pomegranate syrup, dark chocolate chips, and whipped cream.
His favorite dessert is his mom's black rum cake. She makes it every year for his birthday and on the Winter Solstice.
Ascalaphus is not ashamed about the fact that he's still a virgin. He wants to wait until he's emotionally connected with someone to have sex. He did make out with an empousa named Elidi at the college party.
His all time favorite meal is his dad's hearty lamb stew with saffron rice and his mom's scorched chicken.
In his free time Ascalaphus enjoys playing video games, reading, skateboarding, writing, snowboarding, gardening, skiing, ice hockey, cooking (with his parents), ink painting, going to museums, chess, listening to music, and going to the cinema. He's also been getting into photography.
"Owls inspire us to see beyond the darkness and find our own light."

Chapter IV
Polydegmon
Kayre looked at the person who pacified the fearsome guardian of the Underworld for a while, seeing that he was tall, pale, cold, and dark. The only trace of color on him was his ruby-red orbs glowing in the dark.
“Ah,” The Maiden snapped back to reality, realizing she hadn’t answered him immediately. “Yes, I’m okay.”
She turned to face him and winced in pain, feeling stings in her feet. She looked down and saw that her feet were bleeding ichor due to running on rough, earthy terrain, rougher than the smooth and soft fields she was used to. She always went barefoot when working in her fields and only wore sandals when she had to go elsewhere. Seeing her feet made Kayre promise herself to put on footwear outdoors.
Aidamien followed her line of sight, the concern hinted at in his eyes. “I’ll bring you back to my house,” His monotonous voice filled the silence beside the odd wind blowing. “You can’t go out like this.”
He looked to Kayre. “Can you walk?”
“I think so...” She tried to take a step, yet she couldn’t ignore the stinging pain. “Running on adrenaline is different than walking consciously.” She mildly jested.
The man’s eyes changed subtly as if her words lightened his mood. “You’re not wrong...” He motioned his arms behind Kayre. “I should carry you. May I?”
The Maiden scanned his arms, noting how rather well-built they were. “If you insist, sir.” She replied in her usual lukewarmth. The man took her answer as a yes and lifted her in his arms in a bridal carry. She immediately wrapped her arms around his neck for stability. Aidamien’s eyes widened at the action, yet he didn’t question it, assuming she was doing it for her safety. He dashed to his estate with her in his arms, swift as the wind, where a silver-haired, six-armed man seemed to have been waiting for him.
“My, my, Aidamien! I was wondering where you’ve gone!” His worry turned into amusement and relief, seeing the King of the Dead carrying the Maiden in his arms.
Kayre looked at the man who carried her the way here. ‘Where have I heard this name before?’ She wondered.
“I need a bowl, a washcloth, and bandages,” Aidamien ordered. “No need to call for others.”
The six-armed man’s eyes widened as if surprised for a second and then relaxed as he bowed. “As you wish,” He briskly went inside.
Aidamien brought the young woman into his bathroom, and he set her down on a dry stool. What he asked for was swiftly brought to him, and they were left alone. He set aside his sandals, cloak, and bracers elsewhere, revealing his crown of white poplar leaves, Kayre noted. There was nothing except the sound of running water filling the bowl and the splashes as the dark deity wetted the washcloth. He gently lifted one foot of the Maiden, staining his hand with ichor, and washed her sole carefully. The ambiance was remarkably peaceful, but Kayre had mysteries she wanted to solve foremost.
“Sir, are you the lord of this realm?” Her curious voice suddenly broke the silence. Aidamien stopped whatever he was doing to look up at her in the eyes, and she could sense surprise from them before he returned to cleaning.
“Yes,” he answered after much contemplation, subtly moved. “How did you know?”
Kayre hummed for a moment. “I may have heard a little once while on the mountain. Your true name, I mean. I heard some rumors from farmers away from my home.”
A smile broke out on her lips. “Though, for them, it’d be scarce... Everyone on the mountain seemed fonder of you...”
‘As it usually is...’ Aidamien thought and sighed as he moved on to her other foot.
Sensing his gloomy reaction, the Maiden looked on, seeing how he handled her feet delicately. “No wonder mortals call you ‘the Hospitable One’...” She murmured and sensed the washing halted, believing he had heard her. The surprise was now apparent on his face, with his pale skin looking slightly more colorful.
Since the day she appeared in the world, Kayre had been aware that mortals didn’t mention the King of the Underworld as often as other deities, let alone use his name. They would instead replace it with epithets out of fear. All who lived shall eventually become his subjects hereafter, and it wouldn’t do them any favor to have their ends arrive prematurely. Yet despite everything she heard about him, she didn’t think they matched the image she was witnessing before her eyes.
‘Did I say something off?’ Kayre grew uneasy over the prolonged inaction.
On Aidamien’s end, her tone earlier signaled genuine sincerity, as if she was complimenting him. But he decided to avoid such expectation of sentiment in nearly invisible shame, continuing to tend to her feet.
This time, Kayre wasn’t sure what to do. She was usually the one to receive the start of conversations, but now she had to start one with someone she presumed to be a lot like herself.
“I mean it,” she said slowly, after thinking things over as he wrapped her cleaned feet in bandages. “I don’t know what exactly you heard from others, but...” She took a deep breath. “You’re honestly not too bad yourself, my lord. Please know that.”
‘Would he be okay with me saying such serious things this early?’ The Maiden started to have second thoughts before seeing Aidamien’s gaze turn warmer as he finished bandaging.
“Your feet sustained mild scratches, so it should take at least a few hours for them to heal enough for you to walk painlessly,” he finally spoke. “I’ll get you sandals.” He stood up to put on his cloak and bracers again before exiting the bathroom.
“Um...!”
“Hm?” He turned back to see Kayre trying to stand up on her own.
“May I join you?” She limped slowly. “I believe I should since you’re looking for my size. Would be saving time instead of you going back and forth for my sake...”
“Sure,” Aidamien replied, seeing her determination.

Honey Drop Tome 1 Volume 2 by Alicia R. Norman and Krishtina Mayers #HauntedHalloweenSpooktacular
The Ghost Of You - By Alicia R. Norman
The ghost of you still lingers
in the corners of my mind
leaving drops of memory
and sinful thought behind
the moonlit path of darkened rose
a patch of warm sunshine
the ghost of you, it often haunts
and blackness of my mind
A warm embrace
a sinful touch
a blood drop here
just oh so much
Tickled sweet
a candy lick
The smell of which
I shan't forget
make no mistake
leave not behind
a million ghosts
without confine

Prina folded her legs to one side and stared at him. Her skirt had scrunched up to just below her hip.
She stared...
Watched as the man steadied himself over a handful of moments.
Disbelief filled her heart.
Had she ... had she just ...
She spouted a rhetorical question.
"Have I kicked a god?!"
His face rose–he was grinning.
Little beads of tears were forming in his eyes. Was it really from the pain? Had she kicked him that hard? Well, being strong didn't mean you didn't feel pain she supposed.
Regardless, the awe in Proserpyn's heart was quickly supplanted by fear and horror. She straightened her legs to kneel, and then she prostrated herself. She blurted out every name she could remember.
"Polydegmon! Odigos! Hades! Zylanthrakas!"
She paused to pant into the mattress. Swallowed.
"Thayn?!"
Her fingers and nails rasped against the sheet.
"I implore you, Death God! I implore you, Harvester! Have mercy on this weak mortal!"
Proserpyn continued breathing into the sheet, heat building under her face. She was shaking as if she might fall apart. Although she should’ve smelled the bedsheet, she only smelled him, sweet, spicy, smoky.
More seconds passed. She could've counted them if she'd thought to do so.
Thayn laughed.
He actually laughed!!
He sounded ...
He sounded ...
Light puffs and gulps of air between each laugh.
He sounded...?
Prina's fingers tightly curled.
"Honey Drop, Dear Honey Drop. Come."
He sounded relieved!
Prina froze.
She felt movement. Thayn was approaching, but she didn't think it mattered if she fled or not. He was a damn god. He could find her anywhere.
He was beside her. His cool hands went to her waist. Prina's belly shrunk into her back.
Thayn lifted her up to an upright position and wrapped his arms around her. His nose went to her cheek. His breath tickled her. "Be at ease, please be at ease."
That tickling breath became uneven. He shuddered.
He truly shuddered!
Yet he grew warmer and warmer.
Proserpyn looked away and folded her fingers into her cheeks. "I'm dreaming."
He sniffed. It was loud in her ear; it made her jolt in his embrace. Some of his hair tickled her.
"What?" he whispered.
"I'm not married, certainly not to any god. All this time, I've been dreaming." She tried to move away, but he did not yield.
"Don't leave!" Thayn's highly embellished fingers spread out. His painted nails didn't pierce her skin, but they did bite enough to make her whine. "I've pined for so long," he said, "too long, and now you're here. You're here, and I can touch you! I can hold you! Don't leave!"
More and more hoarse but also wetter, as if his throat was aching and full of moisture.
One of his hands went to hers as he moved her into position to straddle him. Thayn touched her jaw and turned her face toward his.
Prina closed her eyes and sighed into the mouth against hers.
There was a craving in his lips and teeth, sliding and pressing on her, his humming voice trickling down her body.
A dream.
Only a dream.
Right.
Right?

noumenia?
its a monthly holiday/celebration for the new moon!! technically its 3 days! deipnon on the last sliver of the moon, noumenia on the first day of the new moon, and agathos daimon the day after
on deipnon you make an offering dinner for hekate (and in theory place it at a crossroads but a lot of modern worshippers if they observe deipnon at all offer it at their usual altar/shrine) and purify the house which for me usually just means cleaning my room rip
observances of noumenia vary a fair bit from what ive seen but in general you set the pace for what u want to do that month so like.. in theory if you’re productive on noumenia and start new projects and make offerings, the next month will be fruitful and productive as well! its also a good time to make plans for any other offerings, rituals, or holidays for the month!
and agathos daimon i am not super familiar with bc i only just started observing deipnon and noumenia a few months ago but the gist is its to honor your agathos daimon or the spirit of your house! so you make offerings to the agathos daimon and for some people you would also include ancestor veneration on this day
#for those devoted to hekate or who are witches it may be more intense and involve rituals etc etc#but for me its pretty lowkey#.txt#this is probably more in depth than u wanted but . im love my gods#other than deipnon hekate doesnt rlly . factor into my practice bc im mildly scared of her LMAO#and the theoi khthonios in general#to the point that i. usually use epithets in place of names as often as possible#like sometimes u gotta use names like in the discord for clarity#but when i pray or make offerings i always say polydegmon and praxidike/kore (depending on the season) for hades and persephone#im planning on incorporating kore’s khthonic aspects more this winter thoooo which is scary ripppp

Death Spells
Death Spirits or Spirits of Death sound so threatening compared to a Healing Spirit or a Spirit of Love. This isn’t mere modern squeamishness but an attitude shared with the ancients. Death Spirits, although they play a necessary function, made our ancestors nervous, too. Death Spirits tend to fall into one of two categories:
Spirits who are involved in the dying process or who serve to ease the transition to the next life
Spirits who are guardians of the dead, who preside over the realms of the dead, or who rule cemeteries and cremation grounds
Many Spirit Guardians of Death’s Doors remain unnamed. As with Disease Spirits, there’s some reluctance to name many of them, just in case they actually come when called, thus epithets and euphemisms are frequently substituted. Often, a Death Spirit’s true name remains secret. Hades literally means “the unseen one.” Should that name become too familiar, other euphemisms may be substituted: Polydegmon means “the hospitable one” because, after all, everyone is welcome in his realm. Pluton means “wealth,” because ultimately he owns everyone and everything.
Despite the fear they instill, these spirits can be very needed, helpful, and welcome—at the right moment, of course. Their assistance is incorporated into many spells for a variety of reasons and purposes.
Guardians of the next world and of the cemetery gates include:
Baron Samedi, leader of the Vodoun Ghede spirits, and his consort, La Grande Brigitte
Dongyue Dadi, Lord of Tai Shan (China)
Erishkigal/Lamashtu (Mesopotamia)
Hades, Persephone (Greece)
Hella (Norse)
Kali, Shiva, Yama (Hindu)
Mictlantecutli and Mictecacuiuatl (Aztec Lord and Lady of the Dead)
Osiris (Egypt)
Oya (Yoruba)
Yambe Akka (Saami)
Appeal to these guardian spirits to protect the souls of the dead, and also to maintain control over the souls of the dead, keeping them in line, so to speak. Petition them also for access to the spirits of the dead, should this be desired.
