@blaugrana-blues People say this about any intersex variation. Just how "different" do we need to be in order to be "intersex enough"? Do we need to all be true hermaphrodites to "count"? Do we all need to be infertile? Where is the line to you?
Are people with CAIS and persistent mullerian ducts who can still have children no longer intersex? Are people with C-CAH who do not present with ambiguous genitals at birth no longer intersex?
Why are you so hellbent on turning intersex people into some mysterious foreign group that you can't conceive any ""normal"" person being a part of?
Aside from many intersex people not showing obvious physical signs, aside from PCOS and NCAH and various other adrenal disorders having so much symptom overlap you cannot visibly tell the difference without testing, aside from PCOS itself being widely misused currently by the medical field and constantly inappropriately diagnosed upon the first meeting with a hyperandrogenic patient without even doing any testing at all when it's meant to be a diagnosis of exclusion, aside from PCOS not always meaning "just extra hair" - Why does it hurt you for people to identify as intersex?
Why is it so much of an insult to you to be lumped in with us that you felt the need to comment this on my post?
You also do not have to identify as intersex if you do not want to, but there is absolutely no need to drag down others who do just because you felt personally attacked by a post aimed at intersex people with PCOS.
I am also going to link you three studies/reviews about PCOS and just how much overlap it has with other intersex variations so you can see how pointless it is trying to make a distinct difference between the lived experiences of those with PCOS and "The Actual Intersex People" because I am tired and I hope you will read these if your question was actually in any sort of good faith.
Relative Prevalence of Different Androgen Excess Disorders in 950 Women Referred because of Clinical Hyperandrogenism
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and NC-CAH: Distinct Characteristics and Common Findings. A Systematic Review
Differentiating Polycystic Ovary Syndrome from Adrenal Disorders
Regardless of the cause, if you are visibly not within the "socially acceptable" sex binary, you're going to get treated like shit. There is absolutely no reason to want such drastic seperation between PCOS and the rest of the intersex community, we need to work together against oppression and discrimination, not apart.

September is PCOS Awareness month. Last year I made a post including all of the common symptoms. As it's nearly a year since my diagnosis, I thought I would share my story of being diagnosed...
Tumblr media
I started showing symptoms of having polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS for short) when I was 14, in 2018. I went 9 months without a period, started growing body hair in places that are not considered 'normal' for women, gained a lot of weight, started getting very oily skin and acne.
When my mum queried this with a doctor, she was told I was just a teenager having an irregular phase and that no doctor would seriously look at a diagnosis for me until I was at least 16.
(what my mum didn't know is that I was being groomed and had been assaulted, which is when I developed binge eat disorder, which also accounted for the weight gain...)
By the time I had turned 16 in 2020, covid had put the uk into a second nation wide lockdown and completely ruined an already struggling NHS.
I didn't see a doctor about my PCOS until a month before I turned 19, due to all of the backlog.
My doctor ordered a blood test, and an ultrasound of my ovaries at a nearby hospital. The blood test was completed within a week, but it took me 6 weeks to get my first scan. I am still a virgin, and due to being sexually assaulted when I was younger, I was extremely nervous about having something in me and to have a nurse/doctor see me like that.
The external ultrasound was incredibly painful, having a bladder full of two liters of water pushing down onto you. The nurse couldn't get a good enough view, so I went to relive myself before having what would be my first of three ultrasounds.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The nurse took one look at my scan and confirmed I definitely had polycystic ovaries, she could also see I had ovulated. I knew I would be having my first period in 4 months in December of 2023. This was the last period I had, it was the worst I'd had in a very long time.
On my first scan, a large cyst was spotted, so I would need a second one due to the size of it. It was roughly the size of a ping-pong ball. My ovaries are also swollen to about three times the size they should be.
By my second scan, it had disappeared. I had a third as a precaution, which was also clear of anything concerning.
Tumblr media
I then started taking Cerelle birth control in February.
I have had two bartholin cysts (infection of the vagina), hives, extremely sore breasts on and off, nausea, low libido, acne, increased body weight, tiredness, rashes and so much more caused by my birth control...
But it's preventing me from having an increased risk of developing cancer when I'm older, masking my symptoms so that I can have a 'normal' life whilst living with PCOS.
Although I still grow a better beard than my 18 year old brothers thanks to the increase androgen lol
I don't know how long I'll stay on birth control, or if I'll have to use other treatments, but this is my PCOS journey so far.

Without further hindrance of this fic I present to you Simon “Ghost” Riley being a caring loving man that we all know he is deep down inside. Warnings: PCOS symptoms, Talk of Panic Attack and Some Sexual Talk/Situations! I do not own Modern Warfare or any of the characters!
Tumblr media
The day was getting worse by the minute as you felt the pain in your lower abdomen. You had been stressing about your condition for years now after you had joined Task Force 141 to be their hacker when the need arose. Price had specifically asked for you since you were the daughter of his Captain back in the day. That's right you were Captain MacMillan’s one and only child, and when Price had asked you to join them as their hacker you couldn’t turn him down which your father beamed with pride when you had told him.
Now though you weren’t sure this was going to work. The basic training that you did barely helped you lose any weight, and you were sure that your condition wasn’t going to do you any favors either. The condition you suffer from is PCOS which stands for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Your periods were never regular. The cyst when they ruptured were so painful they had to prescribe pain meds, and the weight you wanted to lose just would not go away. No matter how hard you trained with Soap or Gaz to help lose it it just stayed.
Even when you changed your diet it still wouldn’t go away. You were nervously wringing your hands as you felt a panic attack coming on. Soap made you jump when he put his hand on your shoulder. “Lass, are ye’ okay? Yer white as a ghost”, he said. “I’m fine, just a little twinge in my side. Must be from the workout. “Well me and Gaz are going to run a couple miles if you want to hang back”, he motioned to Gaz as he stretched for the run. “I think I might go sit down for a minute”, you agreed.
With a wave and grin from Soap they set off leaving you to relax for a minute, but relaxing would have to wait. Pain in your abdomen almost sent you to the ground as you swayed. You started to walk back to the barracks when another wave of pain took you to your knees. You could hear someone calling to you, but with the amount of pain you couldn’t make out who it was. Another cramp sent you all the way to the ground curling into a ball. A figure blocked out the sun casting a shadow over you.
When you looked up Ghost was starting to kneel down. “Easy dove I’ve got you. Gonna’ take you to the infirmary a'ight”, he soothed. He scooped you up into his arms as if you weighed nothing and started walking to the infirmary. “Ghost”, you sobbed as another wave of pain hit. “I know love jus’ hang in there”, he hummed. As he walked he noticed all the men staring at you. “What the bloody ‘ell are you lot lookin’ at! Get back to mindin’ your own bloody business!”, he yelled out. Within moments all eyes averted and got back to doing what they were doing before.
You flinched as another wave of pain washed through your abdomen, and when Ghost’s eyes met yours he seemed to be in pain just like you. “Ghost what happened”, the female doctor asked. “She collapsed and seems to be in a lot of pain. It’s gotta be her condition”, Ghost answered. You let out another sob as the pain seemed to get worse. Within moments the Doctor had you in a private room and checked you over. “Well it seems that several cysts have ruptured, and I’m going to give you some pain medication to last you a couple days. I don’t want you doing any exercising or heavy lifting, or having sex until you feel better”, the doctor rattled off. Ghost sat in the chair beside you and nodded along with what the doctor was saying.
Doc prescribed you some pills, and made you take two of them while she was there to help get you some relief. “Now these pills make her dizzy and extremely tired. Keep an eye on her the next couple days”, she told Ghost knowing he would follow her instructions to the T. Once you had your discharge papers Ghost helped you to your room. He helped you sit down on the bed as the pain medication worked its way through your system.
“Love, I want you to change and rest like the doctor ordered”, he told you. “Pass me tha’ shirt ova there”, you slurred as the drugs started taking their toll. He let out a small laugh as he grabbed a shirt then realized it was one of his. “Ya stole one of my shirts?” Ghost asked bemused. “It was warm and smelled like you”, you giggled until pain made you stop. “I ‘ave a couple more things I need to get done today, but I’ll be in to check on ya throughout the rest a the day”, he smiled underneath his mask.
You stood to take off your clothes leaving you bare in front of him. You tried to hide your body as you pulled his shirt over your body. “Love you don’t need to be so self conscious I love you no matter what”, he admitted. “I’m not fit like you are. I’m fat”, you responded. “Enough of that love, besides I would be concerned if you were fit like me cuz then you would probably be a man”, he huffed a laugh. It got you to smile as he stepped up to you pulling you in close, lifting up his mask and kissed you.
He helped you lie back down and he pulled the covers over you as the drugs made you fall asleep. Kissing your temple he pushed some hair that had fallen behind your ear. You mumbled his name and he smiled, pulling his mask back down and heading out to finish his day. By the time he got done it was late, and he knew that you wouldn’t have been able to go to the mess to get you some food. He went in and quickly filled two plates with
Food then took off for your room.
When he opened the door you were sitting against the wall your bed was against hugging a pillow and crying. He locked the door then sat the food down walking over and pulling you to him. You buried your head into his neck sobbed as he held you and whispered soothingly to you. When you pulled away he watched you carefully. “I hate my body, it's ugly, fat and so broken”, you criticized. ‘
“No, don't ever say that love. Your body is fine the way it is. So what you have love handles. Means I have something to grab hold of when I rail you into the mattress or to hold you close to me. Or these thick thighs when they squeeze my head when I eat you out. Or these soft breasts that make the world's greatest pillows or something fun to play with. This is the body of a woman, not a girl. A strong woman who has a place on this team, and if anybody doubts that I’ll beat em to a bloody pulp”, he smiled as his hands wandered over your body.
“I just feel like no matter what I do I can't lose weight”, you sniffle. “It’s alright love. We are all made different”, he told you. “Yeah but you could have a skinny fit girl in your bed instead of this”, you gestured to your body. “But I chose you, not some slag that couldn’t do the things you do. I will always choose you love”, he caressed your face. “Then why have you never told me your real name or shown me your face?”, you questioned. “I thought ya woulda hacked that information already”, he said. “Never I respected you too much”, you smiled.
“My real name is Simon Riley”, he relayed. “Simon”, you breathed. His eyes snapped to yours when you said his name so softly. His eyes were hooded as he watched you think it over. “The name suits you”, you told him. He hesitated as he thought over revealing his face. “You don’t have to show me your face. Your name is enough”, you said, reaching up to caress his mask-covered face. He seemed to relax some as he stood up turning to grab the food. Maybe you had pushed a boundary by asking about showing his face.
“I brought you a plate you need to eat and I don’t want to hear it will make you fat. Your body needs carbs and protein to function”, he scolded before you could protest. He pulled his mask up to his nose and waited for you to start eating before he did. This is how it had been when he found out you were starving yourself when you first arrived. After that he would bring food to your room and make sure that you ate. That's how you had fallen for him not his physique although that was an added bonus, but his caring nature under the hardened exterior he built around himself.
Ghost or Simon was telling you about early missions with Soap when Graves had betrayed them. “He was shaky so I started tellin jokes to help ease him”, he relayed. “What kind of jokes”, you interrupted. He watched you for a moment before he sighed heavily. “Two goldfish are in a tank. One turns to the other and says you know how to drive this thing”, he said. You giggled and twitched when the pain started coming back. “You need another pill, love. Hold on I’ll get it”, he told you as he grabbed the bottle.
“You got any more jokes?”, you inquired. He shook his head but answered, “Yeah I do”. “Well let me hear 'em”, you beamed. “Why don’t blind guys skydive?”, he said. You shrugged when nothing came to mind. “It scares the shit outta their dogs”, he finished. You giggled as you told him how awful but cute they were. You took the pills without hesitation, and sat back as he continued telling you about his time in Las Almas. Once he was done he noticed how your eyes started drooping, and knew you needed to sleep.
“Will you stay with me tonight”, you yawned. He looked towards the door then shrugged, pulling his shirt off over his head and grabbing a pair of gray sweats he kept here for this reason. You watched as his muscles moved under his skin and how some of his scars caught the light. You groaned when he pulled his sweats up, giving you a full look at his ass. You have seen it a hundred times now, but it never fails to make you almost drool all over yourself. He chuckled when he heard you groan, “Doc said no sex until you feel better love”.
“I just think she is jealous and wants you…. All to herself”, you yawn as the meds start to kick in. He moves into bed beside you and you curl into his side. As he sat there he kept replaying the words in his head of you asking to see his face. “Love, remember when you asked to see my face?”, he proposed. “Mhm”, you mumbled. “You can remove my mask if you want to. I trust you”, he answered. This had you shooting up beside him as you just looked into his brown eyes. “ Are you sure I mean I don’t want to overstep a boundary? I don’t want you to feel pressured into it…”, you rambled until he took your hands into his own. The heartbeat in your ears was deafening as he slowly put your hands on the bottom of his mask. You just sat there staring wide eyed unsure of yourself. “It’s alright love I chose you for a reason. I trust you”, he declared.
You slowly lifted the mask in case he changed his mind until it slipped past his eyes and all the way off. You gasped and his eyes flickered open to see you smiling as you ran your fingers over his nose and cheekbone. “You have light brown hair”, you whispered as you combed his hair with your fingers. “Well Soap was definitely wrong”, you said caressing his face. “Wrong about what”, he said leaning into your touch. “That you were ugly under that mask. You're absolutely the most handsome man I have ever laid my eyes on”, you whispered as you leaned in to kiss him.
After a few moments you pulled away to place kisses all over his face and down his neck until he grabbed your arms pulling you to him. “What if I had an ugly mug under this mask?”, he asked in seriousness. “It wouldn’t have mattered. I chose you for a reason just as you chose me for a reason. Looks aren’t everything”, you admitted going in for another kiss. He pushed you away slowly even though he was enjoying it if the tent in his gray sweats were any indication. “It's time to rest, love. Doctors orders. We can do this another time when you're not in pain or high on painkillers”, he grinned as you pouted.
“Fine but as soon as I’m not on pain meds or in pain I want you just like this”, you said nuzzling into him. “Just like what”, he said. “With your mask off under me as I ride you”, you slurred as sleep started to set in. “Bloody ell woman, I need to sleep too ," he chuckled. “Love you” you yawned. “Love you to dove”, he whispered. Within moments you were asleep and his mind drifted to his purchase a couple of days ago. The velvet box nestled in his tac pants right now was all he could think about. He would ask you when you were off the painkillers. Maybe after you made good on your promise of riding him he would get down on his knee and ask you to choose him again as he had chosen you.
—-------------------------------
The end guys! I hope you all like it and as always feel free to message me or ask me. I’m willing to make task force 141, Los Vaqueros and König fics so hit me up to add it to the list. Until next time 😀

if you blog fatspo in this day and age i genuinely don’t respect u as an individual. there are so many health conditions that can lead to obesity even if a person eats regularly AND healthy or not at all 😐
my grandmother had a thyroid condition and despite how little she actually ate she still maintained that heavy set weight, i watched her cry over it frequently. it wasn’t something she chose for herself and she spent a lot of time & energy trying to slim down to no avail.
pcos (or polycystic ovarian syndrome) is another disorder that causes severe weight gain, it affects individuals who have ovaries and leads to reproductive complications. it’s also incredibly painful.
while it may be extremely normalized to live in a society where people do over-feed & put themselves into positions of declining health. we do not know what another individual is dealing with mentally, physically, or if they too have an ed.
more often than not we hear about high rates of dissatisfaction with appearance in individuals who are overweight/obese. hating your body is what lead most of u to @na sites/pages and behaviors. your personal struggle with body image and esteem is not more valid because you are objectively smaller.
did you lose your empathy with that weight loss?
i lost over 180 pounds in the span of a year (1) and at my hw my own mother told me i wasn’t small enough to have an ed.
i’ve been hospitalized/ put into residential treatment. told if i don’t eat regularly i could perish randomly.
yet i’ve never treated someone like they’re less of a human because of a gap in numbers on a fucking scale.
don’t act better than other people just because you don’t eat.
you’re the sick one here… you are victim to a disease just like an overweight child is a victim to sugar.
hot people are nice to everyone.
there’s already so much filth in this world, why not rise above it?
(also i would scrap irl w any of u wannarexics reposting said garbage. if you’re not gonna put ur dukes up keep scrolling babe. ❤️😻)

Hello!
I recently got diagnosed with PCOS, and as i don't know much about it, could you sorta give a sorta beginners guide?
Sure! So there are different “kinds” of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, depending on what triggered it. Sometimes it’s genetic, or came on from birth control or diabetes, etc. Each kind of PCOS can show itself with different symptoms. Like if you have high testosterone, you will have hair growth, acne, skin tags, etc. but those symptoms don’t show in every case of PCOS, like for me I have high estrogen. But overall it comes down to this: hormone imbalance that causes cysts on your ovaries. These cysts form every time you have a period, but in people with PCOS, that cyst doesn’t go away like it should naturally. It stays, it grows, it causes pain. Sometimes it’ll cause further problems like torsion or rupture (I’ve experienced both and they are extremely painful).
There are things that can help! Birth control for one, or other medications that can help balance your hormones. You might need to do a hormone panel with your doc to determine the right kind of drugs to take for your specific PCOS. Sometimes a change in diet, specifically anti-inflammatory foods, can also make a huge difference. Vitamins are also a life saver.
Unfortunately there is no easy cure for this. PCOS can lead to other issues like diabetes, endometriosis, infertility, and more. The best thing to do is control the hormones as soon as you can so that it does not lead to these other problems. Definitely get a care team that works with you and gets your body in the best place it can be. I wish you well and good luck!

A Family That Just Can't Be
Tumblr media
Image is not mine.
Word Count: 596
Warning- This one gets personal. I recently found out that I have PCOS, for those of you that don't know what it is, it's Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, it means there are a bunch of little cysts in my ovaries that cause a buildup of blood. (I was bleeding for almost 6 consecutive weeks). 70-80% of women with PCOS can not get pregnant. So I wanted to write a little blurb about it. I hope y'all enjoy. (Personally, I'm just happy to not be constantly bleeding anymore)
You may shed tears, don't worry, it is a totally normal reaction to denying our beloved Harry the family he so deserves, even when it is out of both of their control.
Now, to the blurb:
"Y/N, I'm home." Harry sings as he walks into his London mansion. When he doesn't get a response, he starts to get a little bit worried.
"Y/N? Darling? Love?" He asks into every room he checks. Finally he pokes his head into a pastel coral painted room, the room the two had decided would someday be their nursery.
Sitting on the plush white rug was his beautiful wife, "Y/N?" He asked. She was staring out the window, but her mind was lost in space after hours of crying. Which H noticed once he sat down next to her and turned her head so he could kiss her.
"Baby, what's wrong?" He asked, she winced at the pet name and curled further into herself.
"Love, you're scaring me." H said.
"H, I can't be here anymore." She finally croaked out. "I can't do this." She added before getting up. She wanted to burn this entire room, the room they had been trying for nearly a year to fill.
"I caved H, I caved and went to my OBGYN today. It's never going to happen for us."
"GOD, I'M SUCH A FUCKING FAILURE!" She screamed and punched the wall.
"Woah. Woah woah woah. Sshhh, everything's going to be alright." H cooed and she whipped on him.
"NO, EVERYTHING WILL NOT BE ALRIGHT H."
"Hey, we just have to keep trying, it'll happen for us someday."
"OH MY GOD H, DON'T YOU GET IT, IT WON'T! It won't ever happen for us H, it won't happen because I can't, I can't get pregnant H, I'm infertile." She yelled but her yells became sobs. Harry was speechless, he felt his own knees go weak.
Sitting them back down on the floor, this time with her in his lap, he just held her, wanting to give her every ounce of strength he had. He could feel how broken she felt.
"I have PCOS, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, which basically just means that my ovaries are full of tiny little cysts that won't let anything through. I can ovulate, albeit not for long, and not as often, you can come inside of me as many times as you want, but no matter what, your sperm will never touch my eggs, let alone latch onto one.
"There are other options, love." He whispered.
"Except those other options don't involve me having our child growing inside me."
"Listen love, I love you. Yes we wanted a family, I wanted to be a dad and teach our kids how to dance, and take them on trips all over the world, change all of their stinky diapers, drop them off to school on their first day, and watch your belly grow with a life the two of us created. But as long as I have you, I will always be the happiest man alive."
For the rest of the afternoon, the two sat there, mourning the loss of the family they never got the chance to have.
Sorry for the tear-jerker.

Hot tip……if you get into a committed relationship with someone that has chronic health issues please please please understand that that person may not be able to do anything for themselves for weeks to months at a time and a large burden is going to fall on you. Take the time to make sure you're able to handle it before you commit.
I didnt ask for my body to fail.
My favorite quote from my doctor was, “it can’t really be that bad if you are still working and doing everything you do. “ I told him I didn’t know I had a choice. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Years in pain, tired and the many changes in me for no reason or apparent reason ... Hiding everything from someone else, pretending to be doing better than you are; until it no longer works. No matter how strong you want to be.
Then the moment comes when they tell you what you have ... You have mixed feelings: you finally know what you have, but how do you deal with it?
Lack of encouragement, wanting to lie down, taking medication frequently; having a whole pharmacy on top of the nightstand.
Then, the daily responses, "Why did you get so fat?" “I have this great diet, if you just go out and exercised.
That once beautiful hair of yours now awful and it falls out.
What happened to you??....
This is all true and that's why I'm sharing it!
Silent and invisible diseases do exist ...
When you have an invisible disease it is difficult to argue from your perspective with ignorant people.
Life takes a lot of turns !!!
Tired of being told:
* Did you go to the doctor?
* Have you tried this?
* Have you tried that?
* I don’t know what else we can do for you...
Yes! I tried and still try everything !!!
Doctors say this disease is forever. That I will not heal. However, I am not giving up, but I want to make others realize:
* A nap will not cure me but it will help me ...
* I am not lazy, I take medication and it sometimes makes me sleepy.
* I am not angry but sometimes cranky with pain.
* I struggle daily with pain, mobility problems, fatigue, the criticism of my environment.
Most frustratingly, people look at me and say, "It can't be that bad; you look good "
Despite the fact that my body is experiencing excruciating pain everywhere, of course I look good, I always try to look good, it is an "invisible" disease.
This disease affects me physically, mentally and emotionally. Because rare autoimmune diseases cannot be seen, but we feel them.
And they are there ... Silent attack but extra painful.
I AM LOOKING AT THOSE WHO TAKE TIME TO READ THIS POST TO THE END.
The following request is sent to the post:
Please, for me and in honor of someone who fights against:

I’m about to be completely vulnerable on main and idc:
in January/February 2023 I nearly died. I have been battling a 15 year long fight with my reproductive system and it came to a head when I wound up in the hospital with an ectopic pregnancy. An abortion is the only reason I’m here to blog with you all on tumblr dot com. Nothing else could have saved me, nothing else could have prevented my death. My existence right now is inherently political because I’m alive solely due to an abortion.
Abortion is basic medical care, yet there’s fucking idiots that are allowed to vote on these topics who don’t understand what an abortion actually is, or its use cases. They don’t know how many women naturally miscarry. They don’t know what an ectopic is (see: “they can take it and implant it elsewhere”). They don’t know what endometriosis is, what adenomyosis is, what polycystic ovarian syndrome is. They don’t know what causes HPV, what medical uses birth control has outside of, well, birth control. They don’t know even know what a period fully is!!! And yet, they’re allowed to damn people in the US to a fate that I only escaped because abortion is federally legal here, which they’re also trying to strip away. They’re allowed to sentence those with a uterus/ovaries to their deaths without a second thought. And that’s just okay!!! That’s just normal!!! We can just decide that a necessary, life saving medical procedure is illegal!!! What the fuck!!! Every single person on this earth should be entitled to the medical care they deserve. Even if that abortion isn’t to save their lives, I don’t care!!! It’s your body, it’s your life, you know what’s best for yourself!!! Everyone should have full autonomy over their bodies!
I love abortions. I love birth control. I love gender affirming care. I love hysterectomies and oophorectomies. I love my fellow women, and every single person who has/had a uterus/ovaries in their lifetime. Today fucking sucks, but we will take our time to grieve and cry, and then we will keep fighting. We will not take this lying down. We will not sit back and accept that this is our fate we are doomed to. We will persist. We will survive.

How to Lose Weight with PCOS: 8 Helpful Tips
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) affects millions of women worldwide, and one of its most challenging symptoms is weight gain. The hormonal imbalances associated with PCOS can make losing weight particularly difficult. However, with the right approach, achieving and maintaining a healthy weight is possible. Here are eight helpful tips for losing weight with PCOS.
Tumblr media
Focus on a Low Glycemic Index (GI) Diet
Women with PCOS often have insulin resistance, which can lead to weight gain. A low GI diet can help manage insulin levels and reduce cravings:
Choose complex carbohydrates like whole grains, legumes, and vegetables
Avoid processed foods and sugary snacks
Include protein and healthy fats with each meal to slow down sugar absorption
Example meal: Grilled chicken breast with quinoa and roasted vegetables.
2. Increase Protein Intake
Protein is crucial for weight loss, especially for women with PCOS:
Helps you feel fuller for longer
Supports muscle mass, which boosts metabolism
Aids in balancing blood sugar levels
Aim for lean protein sources like fish, poultry, tofu, or legumes at each meal.
3. Incorporate Regular Exercise
Physical activity is essential for managing PCOS symptoms and promoting weight loss:
Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week
Include both cardio and strength training in your routine
Try activities like brisk walking, swimming, or cycling
Consider HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) for efficient fat burning
Remember, consistency is key. Find activities you enjoy to make exercise a sustainable habit.
4. Manage Stress Levels
Chronic stress can worsen PCOS symptoms and make weight loss more challenging:
Practice stress-reduction techniques like meditation or yoga
Prioritize self-care and relaxation time
Consider talking to a therapist or counselor for additional support
Reducing stress can help balance hormones and reduce stress-related eating.
5. Prioritize Sleep
Adequate sleep is crucial for weight management and hormone balance:
Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night
Establish a consistent sleep schedule
Create a relaxing bedtime routine
Avoid screens before bed
Good sleep hygiene can improve insulin sensitivity and reduce cravings.
6. Stay Hydrated
Proper hydration is often overlooked but is essential for weight loss:
Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily
Replace sugary drinks with water or herbal teas
Consume water-rich foods like cucumbers and watermelon
Staying hydrated can help reduce false hunger cues and support overall health.
7. Consider Supplements
Some supplements may aid in PCOS management and weight loss:
Inositol: May improve insulin sensitivity and ovulation
Omega-3 fatty acids: Can reduce inflammation and support hormone balance
Vitamin D: Often deficient in women with PCOS and important for overall health
Always consult with your healthcare provider before starting any new supplements.
8. Practice Mindful Eating
Mindful eating can help you develop a healthier relationship with food:
Eat slowly and without distractions
Pay attention to hunger and fullness cues
Choose nutrient-dense foods that nourish your body
Avoid restrictive diets that may lead to binge eating
Mindful eating can help prevent overeating and promote a balanced approach to nutrition.
Conclusion:
Losing weight with PCOS can be challenging, but it's not impossible. By focusing on a low GI diet, increasing protein intake, exercising regularly, managing stress, prioritizing sleep, staying hydrated, considering appropriate supplements, and practicing mindful eating, you can create a sustainable approach to weight loss.
Remember that everyone's journey is different, and it's essential to be patient and kind to yourself. Small, consistent changes often lead to the most sustainable results. If you're struggling with weight loss or PCOS management, don't hesitate to reach out to a healthcare provider or a registered dietitian who specializes in PCOS for personalized advice and support.
With dedication and the right strategies, you can achieve your weight loss goals and improve your overall health while managing PCOS. Stay positive, stay consistent, and celebrate every small victory along the way!

Can you write a s/o with polycystic over syndrome for Loki and Thor? The doctor just made the diagnosis and I'm feeling very bad, I need some comfort.
I’m so sorry honey, I hope this cheers you up I’ve got diagnosed with Ovarian cysts last year and it made me feel so sad
Also I didn’t know if you wanted them together or separate so I did both but please say if you want them separate
By your side
Thor and Loki were sitting in the common room when you came back from outside, they were waiting for you as pre usual but something seemed to be off about you.
You greeted them like usual but your voice seemed a tad bit dull and you were clutching your purse a little too tightly.
"I’m not really hungry, you guys go ahead and eat" then you dashed to your room.
Loki who was reading closed his book and blinked at his brother "That is quite abnormal, don’t you think brother?"
"Yeah usually she has an appetite after a long day"
Loki laid his book down and stood up, this was extremely unusual for you to skip meals, especially when you’re the one who got to pick, something must’ve happened that they didn’t know about.
Thor followed Loki to the hall and stopped at your door, he knocked first but no sound came.
Loki sighed "We know you’re not asleep, would you let us in please?"
"I’m not in the mood!" You yelled.
"But we’re worried and you can’t sleep on an empty stomach" said Thor.
Loki pressed his hand on the door "It’s either you let us in or we break the door darling, it’s your choice" you groaned loudly then the door opened. The room was dark and you were hiding underneath covers.
Thor kneeled beside your bed and lifted the cover showing your tear stained face "My lady what is the matter? Who made you cry?"
You hid your face with your hands "Nobody…I’m fine" you choked out.
Loki rubbed your back and leaned down to your ear then whispered "I don’t like when you lie to me darling, whatever it is that is bothering I’m sure we can make you feel better"
You sniffed then pushed yourself up on your elbows then grabbed your bag on the floor "Remember when I complained about my period a while back?"
They both nodded.
"Well, I did some tests and a scan, turns out I have polycystic ovary syndrome…that’s the reason why my periods aren’t normal and now I’m scared…" you pulled out the scan and gave it to Loki.
Loki who already knows what a normal one would look like frowned in concern then looked back at his brother.
Thor smiled at you then ruffed your hair "You have nothing to be afraid of, you’re a warrior, strong and brave"
"He’s correct, I’m sure it’s terrifying but you need to remember that you’re not alone, we might not experience the same thing but we’ll be here by your side through it all" said Loki, he moved the blanket off of you and pulled you up to sit instead of laying on your stomach.
"It doesn’t make you any less you, what happened just happened, now you just need to calm down and let it sink….you’re going to be ok my dear" Loki warped his strong arms around you gently and pulled you to his chest stroking your head "No need to be all grumpy now, Thor bought your favorite tonight"
"It is true and it’s going cold as we speak"
A small smile grace your lips before snorting "Can we eat here, in my room tonight?"
The two nodded.
They might not know how it feels at times but at least they were beside you, promising to be there when the pain is too much or when the symptoms start showing up, to comfort you and make sure you’re ok.
You’re precious and shouldn’t be treated any lesser that you are supposed to be.

Jane Mansfield with some celebrity that I never wanted to, they called her, the king size, Marilyn Monroe, meaning she was the Marilyn Monroe who wanted to be Marilyn Monroe even Anna Nicole Smith wanted to be Marilyn Monroe. It was only Marilyn who didn’t want to be. Marilyn Marilyn felt I fed her life, she felt trapped in this role of being the beautiful bimbo, but also in the waist intelligent wise woman who tried to escape it all with addiction.
Her being a Leo rising makes so much sense to me. Many Leo placements can have fertility issues have fertility issues often, and Marilyn supposedly suffered from endometriosis and possibly polycystic ovary syndrome much pain than anyone can imagine and was used and abused by Hollywood. She wanted to escape the abusive childhood that she enjoyed and got married at a very young age to do so to get out of the children’s home. She didn’t want to be with her husband, and then she gets married to Joe DiMaggio, who I do believe in many ways was her proper love, and she still spoke to up to her death, because he was the one who didn’t want her to have a Hollywood funeral and just have a low-key ceremony
Arthur Miller was a playwright and he was a libra. He would often leave little clues round the house on the paper and write about Marilyn and a derogatory way, so Libra very nasty for Marilyn to find that her Gemini son would be in the 11th house and her MC, tori or Aries for many Leo rising, but being a Gemini son she connected with people very easily is, especially at being in the 11th house, which was Aquarius and Uranus. You want to look for the chart ruler, and the Sun is a chart ruler in this case, so that in the 11,th 🏡 is very prevalent to how she was so popular, maybe not in her personal life, but at the public at large inside, she could’ve been going through a much more internal damage going onto Jane Mansfield, Jane Mansfield almost looked white passing. She was a Aries son cancer rising the cancer rising is obvious when you see that picture of her and Sophia Loren, who is the Virgo looking down our breathe swinging all they’re gonna pop out at any second, I have a Virgo rising brother, he’s constantly telling me to put mine away but if you have strong cancer placements motherly placements, you’re also going to have a big bust. I am going to put some pictures up now of comparing Marilyn to Jane, but both these things are quite different we don’t compare people we just showing the difference. Jane has an appeal. Marilyn had an appeal and they two completely different humans.

Hey guys, what do you think of the high rate of PCOS in trans men pre transition? It's not something I see talked about much, but I feel it's one of the few leads we have on contributing factors to dysphoria.
I have some sources to give, but basically it boils down to the knowledge that PCOS is likely caused by high androgen levels pre birth(as well as genetics/epigenetics), and the change it makes is to the brain's neurological structure, which in turn impacts the ovaries and hormone production. Since there is a significant amount more trans men that have this condition as compared to the base line, id assume whatever usually impacts the brain to cause masculinizing dysphoria shares features with the cause of PCOS.
Anyway, links below:
There are more studies like this one, but most don't have super huge sample sizes. Even so, I haven't seen one where trans men's rate of PCOS was equivalent to the base line.
This one also has a lot more links below it, as it's more an analysis of several works
And this one talks about the neurology aspect a bit more in general

I want to make a most about something, so hear me out...
Hi, I'm summer, I'm 14 years old and I was recently diagnosed with PCOS
PCOS is short for polycystic ovarian syndrome. This affects many things including periods, their symptoms, fertility and can cause cists on the ovaries.
It can be passed down, so my mum and my aunt also have this. We are all affected in different ways.
My mum has the cists on her ovaries, and her period cramps and moods are quite severe
My aunt was affected in fertility, it was a miracle when she got pregnant, but because of pcos, she miscarriaged and hasn't tried for a baby again
I am affected by my period, in that I don't get it much anymore, it's very rare and very short if I do have it. My cramps and so horrible that it affects my school life.
PCOS is so overlooked in society and some people think just changing diets or exercising solves everything. Yes it may help, but it's not exactly a cure.
The doctors suggested I start taking the pill to try and get my periods back, but that's nor something I was open too, especially at this time where I'm still young. So I am left with agonising period cramps at random point in time, without any actual period.
Sorry for the long post but I thought it was important I provide some of the information I know about PCOS, so more people understand it a little more
