Americans should be the last commenting on this war...
Your two party system is falling apart
May I remind you of all of Hiroshima. That NUKE still has horrible effects on people and its been 80 years.
Then we will go to twin towers. I was old enough to actually watch it and comprehend it. The death toll was just over 2000, that was in 2001, ya'll still there killing people and have probably killed 50 times more than that easily. Most innocent, but "you follow your orders" and blow up an entire apartment building to kill two terriosts that weren't even confirmed.
Now the political game at the time Bush Jr. was losing the election, but oppps. He needed to fix his daddy's problem because he put terrorists in charge of Afghanistan during Sr.'s term as president. Which with election numbers down and Jr's second term our of reach. He himself is the terrorist. The attacks on the towers was an inside job. If you know anything about how tall buildings are made to withstand earthquakes. The building should have collapsed onto itself but should have mainly been in tact. And why... why would terrorists want to hit that target? It has no political gain besides engaging your war, gun hungry country.
Now. Believe it or not, your newscasts are biased! :0
So you're not getting the entire story.
And you're too dumb to go to the source so you just spread your stupidity.
I want to ask you something. Someone stabs you in the chest, you are carrying a gun. That person keeps stabbing you, you wouldn't defend yourself? Bullshit! As you hold your 'right to bear arms' so closely, but don't care they are being used by teenagers to shoot up schools. When the US made it legal for semiautomatic weapons gun violence rose exponentially. Look it up.
So. Before you back the terrorists horse, think about if it were you or your country bombed in the middle of the night of Xmas eve.
Yeah fuck you

Kosa is the most horrifying thing to think about. Sometimes I want to forget about it but I know that won’t stop it from flying through congress and into law.
Teens will not have ways to learn about what’s happening in the world. Marginalized groups will not have the internet spaces that they do. Mental and sexual health will be censored. Activism will be censored. Everything important that you care about is going to be censored. They do this on purpose, especially to the youth, to keep us uninformed and unrepresented.
I don’t have the words to express how much this scares me. This will impact us all regardless of age, but for now I’m still a minor and it’s even scarier. I have friends younger than me who will have to endure it for longer than I do. I’m completely terrified because we are about to be trapped.

I fear for the children of tomorrow.
Propaganda in the US is widespread right now. There was a very obvious political stunt by Trump, who was the one to initiate the TikTok ban originally, where TikTok went down before it was even midnight EST (two hours before), despite Biden stating his office would NOT enforce the ban, seeing as how the change of power would be coming so soon. Then, TikTok magically comes back up some hours later with a kiss-ass message to Trump and the Cheeto man himself stating that the US would have a "50% venture" in TikTok. This is nothing short of political manipulation.
I fear for the children of tomorrow, so ensure that they know how bullshit this all is. I encourage my fellow adults (and the kiddos, too) to spread the truth to others or at least encourage media literacy. Let the burning light of truth scorch the poorly hidden sins of these disgusting people, in hopes of a better tomorrow.
And let me make this clear: we will get through this. To the kiddos who are scared and the adults who are anxious, we still have each other, and we will support one another because no matter how much these bastards try to take from us, they cannot take our humanity. We are The People, and we will continue to stand together in solidarity. Take my hand, and the hand of the next person, and the next, and know that we will be ok. We've got you. You've got us.
The world has ended a thousand times before, yet it's still spinning. And we are still here.

I've been seeing this going around, and I just wanna vent and see if it clears my thoughts. Since last October, and even before then, I've struggled with what's happening in Palestine and Gaza. Because it's bullshit that the US government is funding a genocide, is refusing to listen to what a great majority of the people want, which is a complete cease of aid to Isr@el . I want that so badly, I want to see good news I on my phone, I want to see those families have the room to grieve and to rage and to rebuild their beautiful homes. I want to see Palestinian children play in the sun without having to worry about being labeled as a threat. I've seen the protests and fundraisers, and shared/participated in anyway I'm able to. And I've also seen the shit show that's coming in the US depending on which presidential candidate goes into office. I'm a lesbian, Mexican American woman. Both my parents immigrated from Mexico when they were young. I've got younger siblings, two sisters and a brother. I know so many people like us. We struggled when Trump was in office before. We struggled before then, but it has been even more terrifying ever since then. We're fucked if he goes into office, especially with the layout for Project 2025. All of us are. Every single minority, every single person that doesn't fit into the cookie cutter image that Republicans want will be fucking crushed. Our rights are already being taken away because of who Trump put into the Supreme Court. My family struggles with a crap ton of health issues, my sisters both have knee and back problems. They've had a number of surgeries and still struggle with more issues every day. I thank whatever deity exists that we're able to cover most of their necessities with insurance. And I know damn well all of that is gone if Trump wins. I fucking hate what Biden did during his administration, refusing to see what was happening, refusing to fucking listen. I'm tentatively hopeful things will be easier to protest and try to fix if we were to be under Harris. But I'm also too pessimistic and skeptical to fully believe that. And that's my main problem. I don't want to vote for someone who would support a genocide. I would so much rather vote for a third party. But I know damn well it'll only push things in the wrong direction, considering how terrible this fucking country's election system goes. That's how Trump got elected in 2016 after all. People didn't vote and they assumed cause of the popularity win Clinton had she'd win. And I'd rather fucking rot somewhere than vote for Trump. So my only viable option, it seems, is to vote for Harris, whether I like her or not. And I hate it. I hate it so fucking much. I see people say they're gonna vote for a third party, I've even seen some people say they're gonna vote for Trump because they don't want to vote for Harris. And I'm just begging someone to explain to me how any of that would be better. We can try and fix things if we're under a politician that will at least not practically burn our rights at the stake. I want to have autonomy of my own body. I want that for my sisters, for my mom, for my brother and for my dad. I want that for all the trans kids who'll die if Trump goes into office. I want freedom for all the minorities that live in this godforsaken country, I want Palestine to have it's land back and for Isr@el to fuck right off. I just don't know what to do anymore. Btw, if anyone bothers to read everything I just wrote down, I'd really appreciate any advice.

ok thoughts on someone blocking someone because they have different political beliefs?
this person asked me about my opinion on a political situation and i was very clear with my answer. i went into detail about it and explained that i had done my research before coming to my conclusion. this person was very kind and sent me a message before they blocked me, saying that they didn’t want to just ghost me. i said i understood and was fine with them blocking me.
the thing for i’m me is that i never mentioned this political issue in any of my posts, and the only time i’ve talked about this issue online was with that person in private dm’s. i don’t share my beliefs on this situation because i believe i will be severely harassed.
i’m not saying to not block people based on opinions, but this was a situation where i’ve never talked about this issue online. i will continue to not bring it up unless someone asks me in private dm’s. i just wanted to hear people’s thoughts on the situation, absolutely no hate to this person, they seemed very lovely when i talked with them.

honestly all I can say on the election is that we just have to keep going. I know it feels impossible, but the fight against fascism always has. If we give up, they win. Take a breather now, if you in the us stock up on essentials and have a plan in place, but do not give up. I'm thinking a lot about history and what has happened in the past, and the thing is, marginalized people have always survived through so much horror. We can't fail that legacy with giving up now. Find your community, talk to you neighbours, get a library card, stand up in every way you can. Both to fight for the future and to have some hope. I think of the quote by Ursula K. Le Guin "We live in capitalism, its power seems inescapable — but then, so did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art." we have to have faith that we can fix things, other wise we never will I love you all <3 take care of yourself and the people around you

My Poltical Poem (my pp for short): Fleshy cogs that fester
We, the machine's cogs, lack a nuanced voice;
Do you turn left, or turn right, is no choice-
Binary abstractions twist our tongues to devoice:
Various are we reflecting that we'll rejoice!
Those who shift the gears get utmost disdain;
The machine's movements echos devilish contempt-
But, these abstractions are a shared blinding bane:
Delusional? Deluded! By system unkempt.
'News' -Media; the swaying gears contort our minds;
Insecure parts caught in web of cold machinery-
Dragging out the worst, and us to doom that winds:
Status qou breeds woe: a stagnating scenery.
Hands tied in ribbons shredded by ballot boxes;
The great recession; paper represents litte at all -
Lifeblood of change but many play the part of foxes:
One tighted screw, ripples change, that shall sprawl:
Sprocket springs serendipitous;
Jamming jankly- jaded jolts- "jokes"-
Popular path; Precipitous:
Solo; strayed - jointly judge: provokes!
been a bit since I've done a talky section... I wonder why this topic is on my mind hmmmmm...
Ig I wanna expand on the one line "one tighted screw"- first past the post is archaic and something cavemen could've used, it's basic illrepesentative and so on and so on, but even just letting independents votes go to major parties, would do so much for nuniaced voting, allowing a direct way to showcase desire for what is thought to be mainstream policys.
It helps the anyllitic deriving of voter desires and thoughts by repsenting it in the votes by circumnavigating taxtical voting some what anyway.
The point is that it's so small, but it'd do a lot, obv I'm very pro changing more if not all...

finally reading dance of days (thank you ohiolink and oberlin college <3) but my most consistent takeaway thus far. is oh my god. people who think punk is primarily ideological and not subcultural/musical. are so out of touch.
#three thought threads excuse it but okay.#first as much as dc punk was not political for much of its history (revolution summer/positive force nonwithstanding im talking oldschool)#i do think the structure of diy and creating an alternative subculture economy is more radical than. making an antireagan song lmao.#even if i think the result was a bit of a failure. the intention was significant! imagine a world where artists do not have to contort#themselves to majors and can be supported by an alternate network of payment and such. would be nice if the arbitrary ideas#of like 5 dollar shows and zero pr and not fighting for what your worth didnt infest that ideology but whateves#okay then also. what the fuck how did i not know the bad brains homophobia was that bad. anyway.#third thread. hilarious that dc punks were.. hesitant to work with positive force bc of its association with revolutionary communist party#lol lmao even. now that im sufficently deep into these tags i can say what all this made me think of which is that#oh my god mcr is a punk band. well theyre more than a punk band but they unequivically came up in punk. they are based in punk. their first#lbum is a posthardcore record without question. in the context of punk as a MUSICAL SUBGENRE mcr is under that umbrella#more than they are Most Other Things#mcr is punk in the outsider-opposition sense which was as defined as some poltics were for a lot of early bands#and shit like black flag which my chem drew on was not textually very political at all it was a subcultural thing#equal opposite force to The Establishment. charting your own path even if it meant fighting for it#obv though black parade barely qualifies as a punk record it was an evolution for them#(and a really interesting zigzag since many of its influences are 70s rock- the very thing og punk was reacting against!#but which now represented a past oldschool rocknroll (esp with glam))#anyyyway#my posts
