So I've been watching the New Doctor Who Season at the same time I've been repeatedly listening to various Hatchetfield Triology Songs, and now I'm obsessed with the idea of the 15th Doctor and Ruby Sunday coming to Hatchetfield and fending off The Lords in Black. Pokey would hate the Doctor I bet. Wiggly would both like and hate him. The Doctor is fun to play with, but gets pissy when the Doctor wins. Especially if it's one of the stories the Lords In Black are targeting Hannah. No way will Ruby and the Doctor ever let them get to her.

There's a newer employee at one of the stores in my town.

He's 50+ years old and has the most redneck accent, but he wears an Ash Ketchum hat every day and is an avid Pokémon fan/Pokémon Go player.

He pronounces it "Pokey-Mans."

He was talking about how he "might try catchin' some a' them Pokey-Mans on my way home."

It is officially my birthday in five days, and you know what else there’s five of? The Lords in Black, so I thought it would be fun to countdown my highlights of the year with the Lords (feel free to borrow this idea if you want, because I had fun doing it):

Wiggly - What I Wanted The Most This Year:

This is kind of corny, but I started college this year and what I most wanted was to make friends, and now I have so many amazing friends, we talk every day and my social life has honestly never been better.

Pokey - The Best Musical I Watched This Year:

The only answer I can give is Nerdy Prudes Must Die, not only did it inspire loads of my fanfiction, but it just has an incredible score and wonderfully expands the Hatchetfield lore, I think about it every day - Grace Chasity is a true icon.

Tinky - A Day I’d Like To Return To:

The day I began watching Doctor Who. I had no idea it would become one of my favourite shows, and I’d give anything to watch it all over again from the beginning because it is a joy to watch (as of today I’ve officially started Season 11).

Blinky - The Best Show I Watched This Year:

I already said Doctor Who, so instead I’ll say Glee. I’m a musical theatre girlie, you all know this, and I started Glee with my family earlier this year, not entirely sure what I’d think… I am now four episodes away from completing the final season and it’s truly iconic, Sue Sylvester is my idol.

Nibbly - The Best Food I Ate This Year:

My immediate answer is chips, but to expand on this, this year I finally got to try Wendy’s for the first time, and it was a wonderful experience. Chips will probably be my answer for every year, since I chose the location of my birthday celebration based on the fact that they have good chips, so I guess I’m fairly predictable on that front XD.

6. Favorite Hatchetfield reference? I love the cameos in Hatchet Town. Especially Ziggs and Barry, they’re always iconic. I got very attached to Nightmare Time so anything referencing it makes me go crazy. I also absolutely love Paul and Emma showing up of course, I think it’s one of their best interactions

11. Where do you rank NPMD in terms of the Hatchetfield musicals? This is hard. I think TGWDLM will always be my favorite due to nostalgia and it being such a great story. I understand why Black Friday is the least popular of the three but it’s so special to me. I need to rewatch Black Friday to know for sure but for now I still like it more than NPMD in many ways

15. Favorite Lord in Black? Currently it’s Tinky as an overall character. He fascinates me the most and his design is so cool. I don’t care about Tinky as much in NPMD though. Curt’s performance is great but I love Jeff a lot. Pokey has my favorite look in NPMD (and as a doll), it really fits how I’ve viewed him for years. Tinky and Pokey were actually my least favorites in the past because of how frightening they are in Nightmare Time

Impression now: -pointing- That is a Funny Southern Lady right there. An absolute bowl of apple cobbler.

Favorite moment:

Idea for a story: One day when I illustrate Barbecue AU it's gonna be fucking over for all y'all. For those uninitiated: AU in which Pitmaster Hinawa n' her family run a barbecue food truck together. She survives a kitchen fire explosion, like a total badass, and goes on to thrive as a beloved local culinary icon. The twins cook with her. Boney might be their mascot. Flint's in the back smokin' up the best damn brisket you've ever tasted. Antics ensue.

Unpopular opinion: idk if there are particularly strong, popular, or unpopular opinions about Hinawa in this humble little fandom. My only lukewarm take is that I think Itoi shouldda given her more screentime, dialogue, and personality before taking her out back and shooting her - considering the whole rest of the game is grounded to her memory. Grief is handled brilliantly, but Hinawa herself feels more like a symbol than a character. The writing for women in this series has never been superb though. What can ya do.

Favorite relationship: How the sensitivity and emotional vulnerability she taught Lucas to embrace is put to the test in her absence. The whole story is often flanderized down to its darkest & most miserable beats - but it's actually about laughing & loving & cherishing life despite adversity - and I fuckin' know Hinawa's the one who taught Lucas how to do that. I like to imagine he thinks of her in his brightest moments, not just when he's down. That her memory inspires him to smile and move forward, and that she lives on in every kind n' caring deed he does. (Bonus Round: when I think too hard about how all the same could've applied to Claus, I get inconsolably fucked up. When I make it apply anyways, to a Claus who survived, I get sappy as all hell.)

Favorite headcanon: What if she was silly!!!!!! What if she was a goofball hippie with a quirky sense of humor just like her dad!! What if she made dorky puns, and cracked up laughing when kid Claus said bad words, and invented a sequel to the hokey pokey just to make little Lucas smile!! Also she smoked mad pot in her youth sorry

Thanks to my friends, I recently got into Starkid’s Musicals, specifically the Hatchetfield Trilogy. Because of this, my friends and I have started to create a spinoff plot focusing on the Lords in Black but if they had vessels and possessed five kids to torment a set of Spankoffski twins.

I don’t typically shade art like this, and I doubt anyone really cares about this little spinoff my friends are working on, we’d rather keep it to ourselves because I specifically don’t want to mess with canon lore. This was a haha I created and all my friends went with it, so we’re writing and roleplaying it.

This is Fern Ramirez, not related to any characters prior to the universe, Fern is the vessel for Pokey, Pokotho, same diff. I utilized the mask, the blue color, and of course, the iconic blue goo. Fern’s possession revolved around them crying and spitting up blue goo, screaming in agony and collapsing in their stage partner’s arms during the end of the first act. They ended up infecting their stage partner due to them coming in contact with the blue hive mind goo.

These are three of the five protagonists, Maya and Faye Spankoffski(Maya is the girl in white, Faye’s the girl in pink)

The reason I had Maya in white was her closest to Webby, as Webby needed a way to be in this roleplay without bringing back Hannah and Lex, despite that, they still cameo, physically and verbally. One of my characters, Auden(not drawn) remembers seeing Hannah in architecture class.

The other protagonist is Alayna Hutchins, not related to any previous Hatchetfield, but serves as the love interest for Faye Spankoffski. She also prominently uses the black book to give up her mom to stop the Spankoffski curse.

Finally, going against the comment that Webby wouldn’t get a vessel because she’s more mature, and wouldn’t need one to fight her siblings. I sat down last night and created Maya as Webby’s vessel.

There was nothing much I could do, given how obscure Webby is as a character, all we know is she’s a spider, and she has white hair, comparing her to the other human forms of the vessels we got in Nerdy Prudes, there is nothing much I can do with her, so I improvised.

In the end I can’t wait to draw more art for this spin off. My friends and I gave it wayyyyy too much thought.
