My Pokemon OCs and story!

Hey there! Not sure if anybody will end up reading this but I'm hoping with this to share the story I started writing randomly a few days ago and maybe get some tips and pointers with grammar, wording, anything on how to write a little better! I'd be grateful for any help to improve. Chapter 1: Troy and Lex

A red beam shoots out from the Poke ball, recalling the Gengar that stood tall over its defeated opponent. Lex ran over to her fainted Growlithe, kneeling next to the unconscious creature and patting its soft fur as she recalled it to its own Poke ball.

"You lost. Unsurprisingly." Lex glared up at the boy, his cocky arrogance always rubbing her the wrong way. She took a few deep breathes, trying to calm herself as she stood back up, forcing herself to look at Troy's face, immediately fighting the urge to kick him in the leg as she saw his expression. "And you wonder why other kids avoid you…" She mutters under her breath. "You going to gloat all day? You didn't even thank your Gengar for all the effort it just went through."

Troy rolled his eyes ever so slightly as Lex pointed this out, quickly muttering to the Poke ball in his hand. "Yeah, good job and all that." He says, placing the ball back into the backpack hanging loosely from his left shoulder. "So you're serious about taking the Pokemon league challenge? I mean I wish you luck and all but you sure you wouldn't be better off becoming one of those coordinator- Hey!" Troy was cut off as he looked down at the sharp finger now poking into his chest. "I'm doing the league challenge, Troy! I don't know why you keep trying to turn me away from it!" Lex says with a huff, removing her finger from his chest as she takes another breath. She was beginning to wonder if hanging near Troy was becoming harzardous to her health.

"Okay! Geez…" Troy let out a huff of his own before going on to explain. "It's not that I don't think you can do it just… Well let's face it, Lex. You're not exactly winning battles against even Trainer Joey let alone me."

"Hey!" A voice shouted, somewhere from just out of the town.

Lex sighed, her lack of wins not lost on her. "I've not had my best foot forward, I'll admit but that doesn't matter. I said We'll be the Pokemon league champion and we're going to do everything within our power to make sure we are!"

At Lex's words, Troy raised an eyebrow. "We?"

Lex smiled as she gently rubbed her thumb across the red top of the Poke ball. "Yes, we."

Troy bit on his lip, not wanting to laugh since he knew how much the old Growlithe meant to Lex. "L-Lex, that Growlithe of yours is… Tough no doubt. But tough enough to be a Pokemon used by the league champion? Isn't it a little y'know… Past its prime?" He says, treading carefully with his words.

"Psh. Who are you to judge a Pokemon on its prime? Yours is already dead." Lex points out as she crosses her arms, after tucking away her own Poke ball.

Troy manages to hold back the urge to roll his eyes. "Fine fine… I'm just trying to help you out is all. A different Pokemon would probably get you a few victories in battles is all I'm saying."

Lex smirks and begins to walk past Troy, speaking again as she steps past him. "Just don't start crying when the past its prime Growlithe is the head of the new league champion's Pokemon team." She says, ignoring Troy's many responses to her comment.

"I'm home!" Lex shouts enthusiastically, kicking her shoes off to the side as she steps into her home.

"Lex, honey, do you have to be so loud?" The voice of her mother asked as she stepped into the hallway to greet her daughter with a smile.

"Sorry, Mom…" Lex gives a chuckle as the poke ball in her hand opens up and Growlithe stretches its legs and lets out a yawn, immediately heading to its bed after softly walking in between Lex's legs. "I was battling Troy again."

At these words, Lex's mother turned away, her face dropping slightly once her daughter was out of eyesight. In a small town like this, it was hard for everyone not to know everyone and Troy… The young boy was pitied. "That's nice." She says, forcing a smile on her face as she placed a plate of sandwhiches on the table which Lex was already sitting at. "Did he win again?" She asks, sitting across from Lex.

"Hmph! I let him." She jokes, speaking in between bites. "Besides, I'm not aiming to beat Troy, I'm aiming for the Pokemon league. Me and Growlithe just… Need to train a little more before setting out. He did really good today!" Lex says with a grin, her eyes glancing over at the sleeping Growlithe with pride. "Troy won't admit it but we had him on the ropes earlier! If that last bite had connected…" Lex trails off, her mind replaying the battle.

"Lex… Lex! Lex!" Her mother repeated, finally getting her daughter to snap out of her trance.

"Huh?" Lex shook her head, blinking a few times.

"You were spacing out again." Her mother said, chuckling to herself slightly before returning to a more serious expression. "Lex.. You know I am fully supportive of you wanting to become league champion. I tried it myself a few times when I saw your age."

Lex fought to roll her eyes, having heard her mother's stories multiple times before. "Yes, mom, I'm aware."

Giving a small sigh, her mother continued. "And I know how determined you are to do it with Growlithe but… Honey, I myself was only 9 years old when Growlithe hatched. He's not as spritley as he used to be. You can always go to Professor Elm and-"

Lex cut her mother off, looking slightly annoyed. "Growlithe's got enough energy in him for this, mom. I know he's not as strong as he used to be but I've seen the things he's capable of doing! I believe in him." Lex says, looking over again at the sleeping Pokemon. "I'm thinking… This weekend. This weekend is when I want to set off."

Lex's mother smiled sadly at her daughter. She was happy to see her daughter getting ready to go out into the world and yet… She found it funny. Missing somebody who hadn't even left yet. "Okay. Just be careful and make sure to do your best, Alexa."

"Eugh, mom!" Lex cringed, her annoyance growing as her mother began to giggle. "It's Lex!" She said, childishly stamping her socked foot on the floor beneath the table, resulting in a soft thump.

"I know, I know." Her mother nodded, calming her giggles. "Well do your best then, Lex."

Lex's annoyance quickly vanished, a smile coming across her face. "I will, mom."

"Shadow Ball!" Troy commanded, watching as Gengar shot off another shadow ball which landed against the mark Troy had painted on the tree with a rather loud boom. Noticing that Gengar was beginning to tire, Troy decided to call it a day for training, having challenged and defeated 2 other trainers besides Lex that day. Troy sat down on a nearby stump, reaching into his backpack as he pulled out two slices of a sandwich his mother had made for him earlier. After taking a bite of one, he held out the other slice towards Gengar whose wide smile grew larger as he took it out of the young boy's hands.

"Y'know… Lex has a point. You kinda are already dead, Gengar. Do you even NEED to eat?" He asked, looking at Gengar with an inqusitive look who after staring at Troy in silence for a few seconds, stuffed the sandwich into its mouth, causing Troy to burst out in laughter. "You totally don't need to eat, do you?" He said between chuckles, his laughter blocking out the sound of approaching footsteps.

"Troy." The voice that spoke was calm and yet it was still enough to make Troy jump off the stump and straight to his feet. "D-Dad! I didn't hear you coming…"

The man didn't respond, instead looking at his surroundings, taking note of the various painted markers on the trees and splintered wood laying at the base of the trees. "Gengar's accuracy is perfect. Though it goes without saying Troy, immobile trees aren't comparable to an opponent's Pokemon."

"Yes, father." Troy nodded, looking up to meet his father's gaze. "Me and Gengar just got training for the day. We managed to beat 3 trainers today!" He announced with a proud look on his face which was met with a blank expression from his father.

"Remember, Troy. These are just minor challenges compared to the ones you will face in the future. The gym leaders. The elite four. That is where true winners shine and where losers fall."

Troy's gaze broke away from his father's the earlier pride of his victories now gone. His father was right, beating Lex and a few others was nothing to be proud of. "O-Of course dad. I won't let you down."

Nodding at his son's words, he next looked over at Gengar who during the conversation with himself and Troy and subtly moved to eat Troy's sandwich, silently laughing mischievously to itself. Something he did not find funny in the least. "You need to teach your Pokemon discipline, Troy." With another small nod to Troy, he turned on his heel and headed back the way he had came. Troy sat back down on the stump, letting out a long sigh. "..We've got to leave soon, Gengar. We can't keep fighting the same few kids and training with markers on trees. It's time we start our journey." He says, eyeing Gengar with a small smile. "..Wait. Where's my sandwich?!"

My Pokemon OC Lex, and Lex from Curse in Magic are NOT the same person!! They share the same name, but have completely different personalities!!!

I haven't thought about my Pokemon OC's for while, mainly because i never had a proper story to tell. The pieces were everywhere and nothing made sense. It wasn't till rewatching bits of the Pokemon Anime is when i started to put things together. And although the games and the anime have different stories, I've decided to combine the element's, making slight changes and all that. It mostly focuses on the anime story with some of the games story added to it, but once Lex and Bierce move to Paldea, it's completely focused on Scarlet/Violet entirely.

Hope that clarifies everything :)

Now allow me introduce my OC's:

Lex:

A quiet 14 yr old with a vibrant & compassionate spirit. Due to her mistreatment when orphaned, She mostly prefers the company of Pokemon and purposely isolates herself from people, with her Aunt being the only person she talks to. She was eventually offered to be an apprentice by Prof. Sycamore himself upon seeing that she had potential to be a Pokemon Trainer, despite her saying that she doesn't want to be. After a fateful encounter with Ash Ketchum, she starts to slowly open up to people, no longer isolate, and is somewhat able to strike up normal conversations. Despite her anxiety around others still being relevant, her new passions are what keep her from turning back. Now she starts her newly found journey through the Paldea Region, as something she thought she never would be: A Pokemon Trainer.

Bierce:

Lex's Aunt and Legal Guardian. After the death's of her sister and brother-in-law, she took in their Pokemon and became their new trainer, but was denied custody of Lex due to her being believed as a "dangerous wildcard". Not wanting to lose another family member, she spent everyday proving to be a responsible parent figure, even costing her her beloved careers. After moving to Kalos, she realized that she wasn't cut out to be a mom, but thanks to some friendly advice by Augustine, she took things slow with Lex and taught her many important morals while bonding with her, even teaching her Houndoom to be a type of service Pokemon. After Lex's adventure's, Bierce saw the young girl's many change's, and she couldn't be more proud of who she want's be, supporting her Niece every step of the way.

[Sammy reached into Jason's pocket, pulling out his portable PC. After cursing to himself for what seemed like forever about how the Trainer's able to get it to work so effortlessly, he managed to yank out the other four Pokeballs that contained the rest of the team Jason traveled Unova with: Axel the Haxorus, Tempest the Scolipede, Driver the Excadrill, and Mr. Fluffy the Archen.]

Look, Driver. Pal. I'm going to tell all of you something, and if you can take the news well, I know everyone else will. You're the most level-headed member of the group, and basically my second-in-command.

...?

...So. Me and Jason were messing with this thing, it's called the Synchro Machine. It's used to link the minds of Pokemon and their Trainer, allowing the latter to experience the world as the former.

I know Jason said that we had basically mastered that already-

And we DID-

-But, we figured that this would even further increase our understanding of that power. However, while the Synchro Machine was being used, it had malfunctioned. And...

Something happened.

I'll keep it short. I'll have more human tendencies from here on, and Jason is basically a wild Pokemon stuck in a human's body now... at least until we can find a way to fix this. We're still trying to figure out what the long-term effects are, though.

i like vaugely remember a drawing you made where molly amd lex were cooking together (i think it was early on when made them?not sure) and i wanted to ask do they still do those things? and what are their favorite dishes.

also what pokemons do you think they would have or associate them with

I can recall drawing them cooking not too long ago and of course I think lex and molly do a lot of domestic things together regardless if they live together or not molly spends a lot of time at Lex’s and he cooks for her molly doesn’t really cook but she tries to help usual ends up in an disaster.

Lex loves big meals he loves flavor so lots of good spices but I think his go to meal is nice big sandwich like a hoagie just filled with all different things

Molly loves mild stuff though a little spice never hurt her she specifically loves frozen meals because they are easy and never disappoint her (usually) she loves meat though she loves a good medium rare steak.

I can’t come up with Pokémon but If molly was a trainer she would train poison type so she would have a lot of bug and plant Pokémon and probably ghost type

Lex if he was a trainer I think he’d love the big pokemon like I think he would love snorlax so I’m guessing mostly normal type :)

Part 7

Pokemon AU

Meet the champion!

Lex was never first. Even his current title was handed to him after the previous champion, Clark Kent, left to Unova.

He managed to keep his title so far but even still, this newbie fire gym leader kept giving him trouble. It wasn't right in his opinion! He believed that he should be untouchable! No one should be able to be considered a threat or a rival tto him!

As you can see Lex is the only one so far without an eevee, and that is because he deemed eevee and all of it's evolutions weak and unworthy of his time. So he gave the neglected pokemon to his adoptive sister in the guise of a gift for not receiving one as a child. But in reality it was one of his ways to weaken her potential team in the future and to make sure she'll never be a threat.

Lex was a very strong trainer, had he continued to improve as he did when Clark was around he might've actually become almost unbeatable one day, but he didn't and even that wouldn't be enough for him.

Once he found out about the legendary pokemon Eternatus and his potential massive power he knew he had to have it on his team!

His plan was not easy, he had a lot of research about 'the darkest day's where Eternatus previously appeared before being defeated by the two heroes of the region 3000 years ago. He did what he could. Trying to keep the chairman of his back and banning any trainer who sniffed too much around but at the end, nothing was going as he planned.

(BTW had my first death in my new pokemon sword Nuzlock run. Rest in peace Dee the Corvisquire)

Meet another OC of mine: LABI!

⚡️ Overview ⚡️

Name: Labi Stratus

Gender: Demigirl (She/Her/They/Them)

Sexuality: Pansexual

Info:

Labi is a battle streamer and minor league gym leader, she uses electric type pokemon and fully embraces an electric theming. She constantly trains to become a better battler which has led her to becoming one of the strongest students at the Master Dojo.

She hopes to defeat her brother (Raihan) and become Hammerlocke Gym Leader, as well as become more popular than him online. She is frequently trying to solidify her “brand”, but struggles coming up with a name for her fanbase, any catchphrase, or title. But she does have one “move” she does in battles: She’ll nuzzle into her sweater to build up static electricity, and then take off her sweater to reveal her gym uniform and hair buns standing up with electricity zapping between them.

⚡️ Personality ⚡️

Labi is very sweet and very social, easily making friends and talking to people. She loves having plenty of people to talk to, and will likely try making friends with anyone. Her sweetness also extends to a playful competitiveness that gets a little serious if she’s losing.

She doesn’t bring up her brother so much because she doesn’t want people to know her because of her brother. She wants a legacy that’s more than just “Raihan’s Sister”, and this desire makes her take losses to heart, but never tells anyone that it does hurt, only smiles and moves on, it’s a habit of hers to just “Smile and move on”.

⚡️ Relationships ⚡️

Raihan is Labi’s big brother, and he’s a cool big brother. They get along phenomenally, sharing a love of comic books (after Raihan read her comics as a baby when their dads left), and battling. She has an easy time opening up to him about things troubling her, but is very hesitant about talking about feeling overshadowed by him. She never tells anyone she’s Raihan’s sister, in fear they’ll only like her because she’s “Raihan’s Sister”, which happened once.

Apollo is Labi’s dad, he’s a teacher in another school and is a massive history nerd. He tries his best to be “relatable” to his students, and usually goes to Labi or Raihan to test out jokes, usually Labi. He’s very patient and will happily set some work aside if she needs help.

Lex is Labi’s dad too (married to Apollo), and he’s a lawyer who’s more serious than Apollo. He still cares a great deal for his kids, and is the one who cooks, but he can also be a bit busy at times. He initially wanted Raihan to go into a stable career, but when companies began offering sponsorships, he started teaching Raihan how to make wise investments and find a good sponsorship deal, and he is now teaching that same lesson to Labi.

Peonia is her “Best Friend”, she noticed Peonia was lonely and had a sense that she needed a friend (which Nia did need as she was still struggling with her mother’s sudden “disappearance”), so she decided to go up and befriend Peonia… but Peonia was very reluctant to make friends. It takes ages for Peonia to consider Labi a friend, but they do become best friends and work on being more open about their issues.

Lillie is her friend, for some context: In my little Ocverse, Lillie and Gladion were adopted by Kahili and Wicke after the events of SM, but Lillie felt she needed space from Alola, so she got to travel abroad for her studies. Labi heard Lillie was an international student and immediately befriended her so she wasn’t alone in Galar. They share an interest in battling, and just bounce energy off each other.

Klara is her “Rival” and her crush. They met while Klara was giving being a trainer a try, and Klara selected Labi to be her rival, meanwhile Labi saw Klara as a new friend, and developed a bit of a crush on her. She admires Klara’s resilience and slight advertising knowledge, she openly flirted with Klara, which Klara took as challenges or insults. Klara thought Labi’s cutesy act is what made them rivals, while Labi had to spell out she wanted to be friendly rivals instead of enemy rivals.

She also has other friends, many of which I probably will not name or acknowledge… but she’s also friends with Dory (My OC), Marnie, and Bea.

⚡️ Team ⚡️

Luce is a Yamper and her Ace. They met one summer while Labi was running around in circles (she loved running around in circles that summer), and Luce ran over to join her, she brought Luce home and begged her dads to keep her, and they let her. Luce and Labi happily bounce energy off each other, and Labi even tries racing her at times.

Copper is a Dedenne, and the reason Labi exclusively uses wireless electronics. She’s very sweet, but still succumbs to hunger and habits, usually nibbling on whatever she can.

Lemon is a Toxtricity (Low-Key) that Labi raised from an egg, and was a gift from Raihan when she first became interested in battling. Lemon is surprisingly cuddly for a toxtricity, nuzzling into loved ones and resting her chin on Labi’s shoulder when tired from a lot of training.

Oh, and she owns like 8 Rotom that she doesn’t really battle with, but help her out by being multiple fans, phones for different camera angles, and other helpful things… 50% of the time.

⚡️ Backstory ⚡️

Labi was born when Raihan was 5, he didn’t want a sister at first, but quickly grew to love her when he got to read his comics to her as a baby. As Labi grew up, she only got closer to her big brother, and frequently followed him around, but then she started to watch him battle against his school friends. The thrill of battle quickly attracted her and she now had a dream of being a trainer like her big brother.

She slowly grew a team and would battle Raihan every time she got a new member or felt she was strong enough. Meanwhile at school, she was doing fairly well socially; she had plenty of friends, a few girls were kinda mean to her, but she just moved on from it. When Raihan became gym leader and popular, her number of friends seemed to have doubled, including the girls who were previously mean to her… but she slowly began to realize they only wanted to talk to her to try meeting Raihan.

She took it too heart, and isolated herself for a bit until she went to secondary school. She decided not to tell anyone she was Raihan’s little sister, and did make new friends, but she always had a little fear that they somehow knew and were trying to use her as a bridge to Raihan. It was also around secondary school she began streaming her battles and developing her online presence, also keeping her brother a secret there.

After seeing the world in Detective Pikachu I’ve been dying for someone to dive into a supergirl pokeverse fic and honestly you’re the perfect person do it with your particular brand of fun writing style (read: you’re funny af). So I hope you’ll give it a go at some point. 🙏🏻 And that pokemon AU you already wrote is fuking perfect with Kara having a ditto as hers. My mind is reeling from possibilities of whose pokemon is who ajshdkfkfl

I got this ask so, so long ago, but I kinda put it on the backburner while life happened. Then I got another, more recent anon about a Supergirl/Pokemon crossover, so might as well tackle this now… 

All right, so this is just me going more in-depth on a ficlet I’ve already written, so if you need context or a refresher, I suggest that you read that first (: 

Kara: Ditto (Pikachu & Pidgeot) 

When Kara first lands on Earth, she refuses to get a starter. They didn’t have pokemon on Krypton, so 1) the idea takes some getting used to, and 2) she’s still pretty reluctant to commit to assimilation. Plus, she’s seen a typical starter. All it would take is one wrong step for Kara to accidentally punt Alex’s teeny-tiny growlithe into the very yellow sun that gave her the ability to do so. 

Then one day, Kara comes across a wild rattata that’s pretty insistent on getting in her path. And after one too many missteps where Kara’s forced to hover so as not to step on the pokemon, she gets frustrated enough to uproot a tree—a small one, sure, but a tree nonetheless—as if to demonstrate that she’s a force to be reckoned with. 

The rattata blinks at her, melts into a purple blob, then rapidly sprouts up into a large onix. It uproots an even bigger tree. Then Kara—who’s had to practice for months on end how to be gentle—reaches out and touches the onix without any forethought or worry. When it responds with a small nod instead of recoiling in pain, it’s the first time Kara feels like a human.  

They decide on pikachu for Kara Danvers because it’s disarmingly small and packs a powerful wallop. Pidgeot is decided for Supergirl because it’s the only pokemon that could have flown as quickly as she when Alex’s plane was falling from the sky. 

Lena: Persian 

Lena has collected many pokemon over the years because she’s a practical, resourceful woman. Poison types for developing antidotes and vaccines, electric types for conducting (hah!) experiments & such, and a kadabra to telekinetically handle dangerous chemicals, etc. Her main, however, is a very old persian that’s pretty much useless in all things but taking naps in the morning, afternoon, and setting sun in the corner of her L-Corp office. 

But the persian was originally her birth mother’s main, and now it’s the only thing Lena has left of her late mother besides her first name. And though Lillian let her keep the persian, Lena was also forced to get a “proper” starter—a nidoran—so she’s got a pretty hardy nidorina for battle purposes as well. 

Alex: Arcanine & Sam: Ninetales 

I originally gave Alex an arcanine because I just really adored the image of Alex riding one into battle, but okay, let’s get a bit deeper than that, lmao. And to go deeper, I need to draw some parallels. 

Arcanine and Ninetales are both fire pokemon, yes, but even more importantly, they’re both pokemon that are only evolved through a firestone. That is to say, they don’t just evolve by leveling up like most other pokemon do, it has to be a conscious, thoughtful, active decision. And as an older sister & single mother respectively, Alex and Sam would both make that decision without question.

They would both opt for having stronger pokemon, even if it means losing some of the more nuanced developments along the way. That, in contrast to the un-evolved pikachu (another pokemon that requires an evolution stone) that Kara’s ditto presents as? Really speaks to Alex’s need to protect her sister as loudly as possible. 

And some honorable mentions: 

James isn’t really one to battle—preferring gentle, yet emphatic words & political efforts rather than fists—but when he does, his onix is quite formidable. When he becomes the Guardian, his onix evolves alongside him into a steelix. 

Winn’s main is more for companionship than anything else, so his cubone is perfectly suited for sitting on shoulders rather than battling. 

Like Lena, Lex also took on a nidoran as his starter, but his is evolved all the way to a nidoking—a status symbol of sorts, because it shows that he could afford a moonstone. (Lena could afford one as well, obvi, but she’s a teensy bit less flashy and is perfectly happy with her nidorina)

J’onn doesn’t have a main, or so he says, but he always seems to have the exact right pokemon he needs, perfectly suited for whatever problem that might have arisen…. which is weird because trainers are technically only allowed to carry six at a time. Surely, he can’t be switching out his pokemon that often that quickly, right? Then one day, Kara catches him off guard at the DEO, and manages to see a flash of—oh my god, J’onn. Is that a mew!?
