”Ah...well...sorta kinda gettin’ back in the Trainer scene. I’ll admit, I got a little uh, mm, anxious over-whelmed for a bit so I ducked out to get my bearings. I missed goin’ around and trainin’ though as did my partners.”

      There was just the feel of static that made the very air have a faint hum. Beckett couldn’t put his finger on it, but something felt...heavy? Like a foreign presence that demanded attention from everything around it. The Ace Trainer had looked up from his work to peer through the foliage around him. Was it a wild Pokemon he didn’t check for before settling down? Or maybe a nearby trainer training their Pokemon?

But no, instead his blue eyes fell on the electric mouse some feet away cracking with thunder that leapt from his cheeks. Pikachu wasn’t it? He wanted to say yes but...something didn’t feel very familiar about it. He just couldn’t put his finger on it but he didn’t want to investigate any closer. That rodent sure had a mean look in his eye Beckett didn’t want to mess with.

“T-Thankyou! An Ace has to stay sharp ya know! We have an image to keep as elite trainers-hair and uh…c-cuteness included.” He tried to sound confident but no doubt he looked pretty flustered.

Bara: "You are smol." He placed a hand on the trainers head, this was more of an observation than a question, but he just wanted to make sure the Ace trainer was aware of what he thought of him.

“What are you like…ten feet tall or s-somethin’? I ain’ the tallest guy on the block, but now you’re just s-showin’ off!” Not that he wasn’t at fault for being a bragger either. Beck probably deserved this. Who was this shirtless guy anyways?

"What is that?" That being a Yungoos that she's presently squinting at. It's the first time she's visited Alola, & it's a Pokemon she hasn't seen yet. "Are they common?"

“Hmm…? Oh, a Yungoos. Tiny little critters, they’re everywhere in Alola.” Beckett mumbled. He hadn’t turned his head just yet to the new voice. It seemed like he was engrossed in watching the mongoose walk around showing off it’s rather large angry teeth. The small thing was so intimidating and confident for it’s size; Beckett admired it’s ferocity.

“Oh…? Gosh, here I am talkin’ about Yungoos of all things!” He hadn’t even introduced himself to the stranger. The Ace got up from his crouch and stretched his sore back for a moment. “I’m Ace Trainer Beckett! Or you know, Beck is fine! And you are-?”

“….J-Johto G-gym Leader Clair??” He knew who she was the second he turned around. His frequent studies on other regions made her iconic . Beck straightened up immediately looking both dumbfounded and nervous. “Or uh, M-Ms Clair I mean!”
