trying to figure out how to draw this family

lillie has her dad's eyes, gladion has his mom's eyes

lillie bleached her hair bc of lusamine (haven't decided if lusamine also bleaches her hair). her darker roots show in her second design

gladion dyed his hair with cheap hair dye after he ran away

i don't like how similar lusamine and mohn's hair/eyes look, so i redesigned him a bit too w/ darker hair and eyes

Lusamine and her family are all named after plants. Lusamine herself is named after the german name for the garden balsam, balsamine. It's also sometimes called a touch-me-not since doing so causes them to "explode" and fling their seeds around.

Lillie is easy enough to guess, she's named after the lily. Though again, specifically the German name lilie.

Gladion is named after the gladiolus. Most interestingly, the plant is sometimes called the sword lilly. Which is a nice contrast with Lillie. It's the only name not taken from a German name.

And Mohn is named after the german word for the poppy, Mohn.

Had a dream last night where Mohn from the Pokémon games remembered he had a family and finally, permanently, came home to them.

They held a public party at Aether Paradise for Mohn's return. Everyone important to the Alola region was there. The four Kahunas, their families, Professor Kukui and his wife, the recently-crowned league champion and his mother, etc.

Then this guy showed up:

He proceeded to dance all funny while Mohn, his kids, and their pokémon looked on, super confused.

My dream ended there. I'm somebody who's passively interested in Sonic the Hedgehog but all in on Pokémon, so...

What the heck was that?

And this marks the end of Gladions Arc... It's been 3 long years since I started this arc. Granted, I was on hiatus for a full year due to my animated Comic Dub, but still. I'm glad I finally managed to finish this story after all this time. As always, thank you for your patience and thanks for reading!

Some notes for future updates: I will most likely change my shading style and break free from the set 16:9 format I have been presenting my comic panels in for the past few years. I noticed how much time I'm wasting on shading and rendering my panels, as beautiful as it may look in the end, for a comic it's an incredibly inefficent way to work and I want to improve on that, so that I may be able to finish comics more regularly in the future. "El's Alolan Adventures" is only one of many projects I'm working on, so if I want to continue it, I should learn to actually work like a comic artist instead of an illustrator.
