The overall answer to that would be classified, however in a small amount of the basic information regarding such:

Hello there, Ghost Trader! You seem to have a lot of interesting items in your wares, so I was hoping you could help me with an issue I'm running into?

I'm a student researcher at the moment (on my way to a degree, but not quite there yet!), and I have a particular interest in shiny Pokémon. I don't suppose you know of anywhere that ethically sources shiny stones? It would make my studies on wild shiny Pokémon a lot less difficult, but the only people I've heard of that own these are champion-adjacent folks that have caught a lot of Pokémon, both of which don't really apply to me. I'd also be happy with some clue as to how to make/acquire one myself, if buying one isn't possible. Any guidance you could give would be very much appreciated.

I want to stress that I really would prefer something ethically produced, not a supplier that endorses unethical breeding for shiny traits. This is very important to me. :)

Choosing an ethical source is kinda hard, because:

- most sources will claim to be ethical and have the correct accreditation (there is a lot of corruption in the league trading center)

- even actual well intended people might procure from the wrong sources by mistake

- shiny's show better if you breed pokemon from different backgrounds, so breeding for a shiny is actually healthy for the dna pool

- there is a difference between breeding a lot of pokemon and misstreating a lot of pokemon

-shinies are valuable and expensive

I reccomend you rotogle the pokemon scarlet and violet (odd name I know, reference to a school in Paldea) discord server, you can find lots of reputable traders there and the trade rates are at breeding level.
