Just Smile it’ll be okay

Smile and wish the madness away

It’s a simple little thing

However the pearly whites of my mouth

Are shy, unbothered, full of self doubt

Smile and it’ll make ‘‘em happy

You’re welcome to express emotion

A smile conveys happiness and laughter

My esteem is teetering and so

I produce smiles lacking in enthusiasm

Just Smile sweet dear child

No longer should you bare your burden

What is there for me to smile about

I must be impaired In need of inspiration

My smile is incomplete

You have to look closely

More than surface take a detour exhale that lonely breathe

The unknown arrival i must rival

The smile I attempt to wear

Μπαλάντα στον Πρώτο Έρωτα

Στη Σάμο τη νύχτα στο έναστρο μπαλκόνι

μπαλάντα σε δική σου κόλα χαρίζω,

σε ανέμων μια δίνη που παύουν οι χρόνοι,

θολώνουν όλα, πιάνω την πένα κι αρχίζω.

Διαγραφή καμιά και τίποτα δε σχίζω,

αβίαστα, μοιραία, με κάποιο καμάρι

μ’απέθαντους στίχους γιε μου σου θυμίζω,

πως πρώτος σου έρωτας ήταν το φεγγάρι.

Θεοί, δαιμόνια, φύσεις, ό,τι ζυγώνει

τις ρίμες όπου πάνω στο λευκό μαυρίζω,

αυτό είναι -όχι εγώ- που σε βουρκώνει,

για σένα πριν καιρό, για με τώρα δακρύζω,

αν τώρα με σκέφτεσαι, στο τώρα γυρίζω.

Λοιπόν ευχαριστώ σκυφτός ζητώντας χάρη,

να το θυμάσαι όπως τώρα που σ’αγγίζω,

πως πρώτος σου έρωτας ήταν το φεγγάρι.

Κρυστάλλινα νερά, αργεί όταν νυχτώνει

κι αντί του ύπνου σαν βαδίζεις, βαδίζω,

ο κτύπος της καρδιάς μεμιάς σε γιγαντώνει,

το καλείς, το δείχνεις, φωτίζεις και φωτίζω,

το ένιωσα χρέος, λάμψη, οίστρο νομίζω:

«Για πάντα την καρδιά!», αυτή να σου τονίζω.

Στην όποια λύπη -εσύ ξανά- με τα θάρρη,

των άστρων γενναίος, μη ξεχνάς σε ξορκίζω,

πως πρώτος σου έρωτας ήταν το φεγγάρι.

Στο φέγγος π’αγαπάς τους στίχους μου σκορπίζω,

διπλώνω το χαρτί, θα το βρεις στο ερμάρι

και ότε διαβάζεις, θα μ’ακούς να ψελλίζω,

πως πρώτος σου έρωτας ήταν το φεγγάρι.
