What Is There To Say?

There is something I want to say, But it feels too childish, Too genuine, Almost obscene.  But I’ll say it anyway;  So,   Let’s just say that  I happen to notice things; You like pictures of bugs, For one— So here’s five that I got for you Happened to find. Along with  A video of that artist you really like. Let’s just say that I don’t mind you,  That I happened to stay, That I’m stuck with you.  We sat in silence On call last night.  You asked me to. I said yes even though It was 2am and I was tired. I wouldn’t want to Leave you alone. Besides,  I still owed you a favour from when You saved my life spent a whole night by my side. There is something I want to tell you, But it feels too big, Too selfish, Too loud. So I guess I’ll just  Keep noticing things For now.

hehehe so my poet friend(? peer? who actually is almost a decade older than me but we were in college together and talked sometimes? and i really admire her?) texted me to see if i would come to the launch party for the campus lit mag she runs that i contributed to and it’s like an hour away so i wasn’t really planning on going but since she asked i was like yes!! and then she was like will you read too?! and i’m like omg she wants me to read :))) and i do know she genuinely likes my poetry and it was nice to be reminded of that so yes it would be an honor. and and and. i haven’t seen her or any of these other college people since december so i’m scared because i feel super detached mentally like i’m living in another world because i’ve been so depressed lately. anyway anyway it is really nice to be considered and i feel appreciated. :) idk why i’m telling you all this i guess i just got excited.

honest to god i can't keep up with anyone any more when it comes to pints, everyone drinks so quickly and I can't deal with people getting you a new drink before you're even finished your first one. and all the social etiquette of doing rounds. it's too complicated. I'm very sleepy very tipsy on a bus home from l*merick having had 4 pints in the space of 2.5 hours like surely i should not be feeling this far gone!!!!!! i had such a lovely time. also i still havent had a single good pint of guinness since getting back to Ireland they have been 1) sour 2) metallic 3) watery 4) weirdly sweet and thin. it's so strange to go out at home and see so many people i went to school with and haven't spoken to in years. but not bad strange!! today i listened to Joanna newsom, i started and finished a book by jean rhys (honest to god the queen of lonely aimless urban wandering) and started a gorgeous book of poemz. i wandered around the city and my feet went numb. sat under a heat lamp and got too chilly and asked to go somewhere else. ran for the last bus home. and tonight I'll go home fall into bed and tomorrow will be a beautiful new day. hoping for blue skies and frost so i can crunch around the garden and soak up some winter sun.
