I'm happy my little bro enjoys PMATGA, but I hated having to tell him it was canceled when he asked when the next season would be. He was disappointed, but understood. He wants to make his own season 3 continuation now, and I really think he could pull it off since he's a great artist at only 13. Now that I think of it, I was around his age when I got into the show. Ha! What a coincidence.

I was so thrilled when he told me he was watching and enjoying it, and we had a lot of fun discussing it along with some laughs.

I've always been close to my younger siblings, but yeah it felt great to bond with one over a shared interest.

I'm still eager to see what my bro comes up with, as he likes to draw comics. His art is so expressive and good with perspective.

There's a ton of strange things going on with this show, including using parodies (namely the Terminator for "Stand By Your Pac-Man" and The Wizard of Oz for "The Wizard of Odd".

All it does is aid to the already large filler that no one (or close to it) particularly needed. Not to mention the crass jokes that started showing up as early as episode 2.

Episode. Two.

So here's my question: What made you stay in the Fandom after the shows untimely cancelation? Was it for the memes and shitposts that people made off It? Or was it for the idea that, in a way, it had more potential to it?

Personally it's both the former and latter, but I've always wanted to know what made someone stay in this weird phase of Pac-Man history

That's a loaded question XD

First, I must acknowledge that my answer is only one perspective out of many. Other fans may have varying reasons for why they stayed in the fandom.

So, as for me?

I'm a simple person. I'm easily entertained :)

It's the little things that I am drawn to. Not the crass/toilet humour, of course, but I like the little design details and how the main trio looks out for each other, and some of the funny shenanigans that the ghosts end up in. I can block out/ignore the poorly done bits and genuinely enjoy the rest of it that was fun to watch.

I really don't mind the amount of parodies, I think each of them at least had something that was still relevant to the story - Stand By Your Pac-Man set the stage for Apex's reveal (in that the Pacinator revealed it was someone else who completely wiped out the yellows, however brief the reveal may be), and while Wizard of Odd was more filler than anything else, I still found enjoyment in it and we got a bit of lore on other parallel dimensions being a thing in the universe. The one parody episode I can think of that was 100% filler and probs unnecessary was Rip van Packle.

I'll admit, PMATGA is not the best show nor can I pretend that it's as great as other stories I'm interested in, like The Chronicles of Narnia or HTTYD. Whenever new people ask me what shows I'm interested in, I make a big effort not to mention PMATGA lmao. It's a guilty pleasure, simple as that.

To be honest, it was neither the memes nor the wasted potential that I stayed for (trust me, 15-year-old me was actually quite miffed about people dissing my favourite show at the time XD).

I stayed because I had sort of build up my own sets of fanons and theories of the show that I could latch onto, and build up upon for years to come, because the characters of this show are surprisingly good to use as a foundation for bigger and more epic stories, sort of like that one meme where the world you created in your head about the show is better than the show itself lol. I guess that did stem out of the show's wasted potential.

And, well, hyperfixation is a thing, innit? That definitely played a small role in why I stayed.

Over the years my interest in the show did wean a little, and up until the beginning of the year, I had been entirely inactive in the fandom. Perhaps I did lose interest in the show then. But I didn't lose interest in the fan stories I've come up with in the meantime. I guess that's the biggest reason why I stayed - I started something with my fanfics, and I've spent a lot of time building up their plots, so much so that to just leave it all now would feel wrong. Especially since I still get enjoyment out of them.

It ends up being a domino effect in and of itself tbh, because as I write more for the fanfics that I refuse to abandon, the more stories and fan content I come up with, and so the drive continues for as long as it's capable of doing so.

(Ghost Pokemon AU) Ghost Type Pokemon Pac Trio

So I was working on the Ghost Pokemon AU and was going through a resurgence of a PMATGA hyperfixation at the moment and then I remembered "Hey the main characters of PMATGA have a role in this ,AU, why not draw them in the AU?",and because of that, here we are! This AU spans a lot of series and is very extremely crossovery in general, so why not! I need to make a masterpost/synopsis of this AU, I swear-

Also Spiral was a pain to draw bc I never drew Dragapult before and AAAAAAA- (I'm fine! Don't worry! Haha! Seriously though why...)

So they are! In all of their ghost fighting glory!

Started on: 2-18-2024

it's to be noted that they didn't start out in these forms exactly. A series of events caused their souls to take the forms they did. I made their eyes look similar to how ghosts in the show had them. Also the reason for the spectral lighting was because of Dragapults looking slightly more spectral... I'll try to elaborate more when I get to it.

Pac (Gengar)

The yellow boi himself! The way he goes out is on the hands of a certain other ghost fighting hero through way of misunderstanding. The beginning of his character arc is based on a fanmade one minute melee on Deviantart I read when I was younger. (I might link to it when I find it...) I will probably make the choreography of the fight somewhat different to that but the outcome is the same. I chose Gengar because of their long tongues and round bodies. (That and the fact the ears can be made to resemble his eyebrows.) He is known as the "Golden Gengar" to locals via rumors and became quite the urban legend. But rest assured, he is still the same Pac inside! Just more traumatized! :')

Cyli (Gourgeist)

Cyli is a Gourgeist since it and Pumpkaboo could be seen as a somewhat gothic cute ghost type Pokemon. (If that reasoning makes sense...) The fur of Pumpkaboo is black and the hairstyle of Gourgeist is simular in my opinion. Also the default shinies mesh well enough ingame. Besides the grass typing is somewhat befitting of her upbringing. So, how did she end up like this? Well, if i'll be honest, I didn't quite document how well her death goes quite yet. Same with Spiral. I only have the basics rn. Essentially, she dies to a mysterious enity in a meadow with a colony of pumpkins (is that what a group of pumpkins called...?) growing in Autumn. Her soul destablizes and is forced to bind into a pumpkin, giving a new form! By the way, she is an Average Size Gourgeist.

Spiral (Dragapult)

And finally, Spiral is a Dragapult! He wound up killed in the Lake of Dragons. (Name and Location Pending) His soul wound up absorbing the ancient draconic energies in the lake causing him to take the form of a Dreepy. Dragapult is from what I recall the tallest of the three pokemon, so it seem pretty befitting for him! (Also it gives me an excuse to use Dragapult somewhere, so yea.) He basically has a whole story thing with Soko, as Soko has the distinction of being the first of the three's Partner Digimon to find out about their respective deceased Tamer's whereabouts and travels with him! At one point after he first evolves a random Dreepy finds him and follows him around! He eventually goes "I guess it's mine now." and takes it in. (You could probably guess more eventually came.) He basically exudes so much big sibling energy that it was inevitable anyways!

Oh boy, this is an oldie. This was from my learning with pibby hyperfixation phase. I wrote a wattpad book about it too. But it's bad lol. I have made an attempt to re-write it but it's just boring to do when I'm not really interested with pibby as I once was anymore.

This was basically like the ultimate cartoon cross over, and I think considering the vast cast I was planning and the concept I made for how the au worked, it was pretty bad and doomed to fail. Maybe one day I'll return to it...

Since I made Lord Betrayus in Pony Town yesterday, I thought maybe...

Why not make him when he was Commander Betrayus in his living days?

I put them side to side to show what I did differently. With Commander Betrayus, I gave him darker hair tint and eyes.

There was an attempt to make him look like how he does in the show. I hope he looks good.

Okay I am so GLAD that I'm not the only one who noticed. Watching PMATGA, as an experience is:

- Ew potty humor. Eugh corny jokes. Even at 5 year old I would have been bothered by this. Why did they make them able to fart it shouldn't be physically possible THEYRE BALLS. SPHERES. SHAPES. THEYRE SHAPED OF SHAPE. ENOUGH WITH THE FART JOKES RRRRGHHHH

- *gross sobbing*- he just wanna see hims parents :(( he just wants to be delivered from the constant anguish of not knowing if they're okay, even alive or not. He just wants to grieve and mourn his loss properly. He just wants to see them again. He just wants to feel the safety of being loved for who he is after a post-war era. He's just 14. He is being forced to mature too early.

He unfortunately knows that everyone in Pacworld (except his two adoptive siblings Cyl and Spi, his uncle Sir C, his Auntie, etc, SHERRY <- the best character of the show hands down) has been proven that they can turn on him and humiliate him publically on the slightest occasion. He's got so much pressure on him and it so unfair *cries a-frickin-gain*

His emotions are being toyed with too much. Everyone keeps baiting him to his main goal only to lie, bluff, or both. He just wants to see his parents again. His adoptive family getting bigger by each episodes now he got a grandma, an uncle, two potential father and uncle figures (talking about the Spheros brother, one would be dad and the other would be uncle) two siblings, a cousin etc

He's just a boy. He's just a baby why does he suffer this much. Look at his new-found family look at them loving him so so so. So so much eeeeeeuuuuugeeuhjeaaaah *gross sobbing resumes*

My PMATGA hyperfixation is so bad, I think about the show daily. Especially Betrayus. Betrayus. It was love at first sight with that bastard when I was kid. My crush never died out even after all these years.

Like, in a PMATGA Discord server I'm in my role is literally "Friendly Neighborhood Betrayus Simp". I'm serious.

Sadly, if I ever met Betrayus IRL I'd likely go into fangirl mode and be all over him.

So uh, I got this ask in my inbox like last night or so but since I was going to bed I didn’t bother answering it until today!!

I appreciate the critque, fella, but I wanna explain a lot of things like why I draw Sunny so much and why I made this blog in the first place.

I found PMATGA about 5 years ago. I was 9 at the time and found it through Netflix and ended up officially joining the fandom on DeviantART in 2017. I was 11 and at the time I was obsessed with Pacster’s parents and their past and finding out what happened to them. I particularly grew fond of Sunny, not only because of her design but the potential she had and what little of her personality was shown made me feel comforted. Especially when I was at my lowest points in life and I was heartbroken from a multitude of emotional issues. This funky little show about circles, ghosts and aliens and this specific character ESPECIALLY helped a lot. So when I found out that she and Zac were both underused characters I did all I could to get people to remember that they’re important too! I want people to appreciate all or the cast members of the show, even the minor one off characters and the ones that are used as plot points. At some point I ended up becoming emotionally attached to the character so I decided to start going by the alias of Sunn/Sunny, and while not a lot of people call me that cuz some of my oldest internet friends remember my oldest user to date on DA, a lot of people do and it makes me feel happy and comfortable! So in a way I also kin with this character as a form of both fun and also to cope with issues in my life.

I started this blog to share my love for this specific character, Sunny, because she’s never used that often in artworks or fanfics and I wanna change that. I want people to care about her more. I want people to know that she’s important to the story. Sunny deserved better in canon, and I’m here to make sure that she gets the “better” development that she SHOULD have gotten.

As for the “obsession” thing, I can understand that it can be somewhat offputting but in my bio it says that I am on the ASD (Autism) Spectrum, professionally diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome in the summer of June 2017. Part of being autistic is hyperfixations. It’s when you are able to focus on a character or show or game or book for a LONG period of time. This can include years, which is what I’ve had since I was 11. And I cannot control what I hyperfixate over. As much as I would like to, so I can get into new media, it’s REALLY hard for me to do so since nothing much will ever interest me as Ghostly Adventures does. The only other things I’ve been hyperfixated on are Just Shapes and Beats and How to Rule the Universe. I do not know if you either didn’t read by bio or if the accent colour I chose is too pastel-y so it’s illegible, but I did put that in my bio so people can understand that if I have some odd behaviours, then that’s why. It doesn’t excuse it but it’s a reason and my hyperfixations are relatively harmless. Do not police neurodivergent people on what they can and cannot hyperfixate on, if it’s clear that the object or piece of media they’re fixated on is completely harmless and isn’t physically, mentally or emotionally hurting anyone.

Also, it’s incredibly rude that you would have the audacity to even tell me that my blog has “creepy/nasty” vibes but then to also say that I need to “work on my personality to be taken seriously”. I know that I have my own issues that I will work out in time, and I know that I can come off as extremly emotional to the point where it can be annoying, but I’m trying to work around that and find a way to control my emotions better. My personality as is is arguably decent. I know that I need to work on other aspects of myself and I’m working on that. It is not your place to come here, into my space and police me on what I can and cannot fixate on, and in the same breath also tell me that I need to work on my personality. You, whoever made this post, need to stop being a hyperfixation cop, and if you’re also neurodivergent stop being hypocritical. Let people enjoy their special interests/hyperfixations and leave them alone.

Again, people with autism/ADHD or neurodivergent people in general do not control their hyperfixations and what they get emotionally attached to. If I’m hyperfixated on Pac-Man, that’s the hyperfixation and only time will tell if I will find a piece of media that interests me as much as Pac-Man or JSAB or HTRTU. It is not your place to tell me what I should and shouldn’t do on MY blog, and if you have a problem with my content, that’s a you problem and it’s not a me problem. You need to work on your attitude and I’m going to continue doing what I love!
