it makes sense that i would kick off my astrology blog w/ a series about Pluto.

he’s kind of a big deal in my birth chart: i got into astrology just as i was beginning to have Pluto problems. my little Leo 🌞 life had been lived quite unconscious to my true nature and dissociated from reality until then. i wasn’t happy or fulfilled, but i was doing that Leonine thing of pretending everything was fine &mostly ignoring the bad feelings that were clouding 🌥️ the bulk of my private life.

i have Pluto in Scorpio ♏ in the 8th house. my natal Sun & Jupiter are conjunct in Leo ♌, in the 5th house. they both square Pluto. squares create tension &suggest growth thru difficulty of some sort.

personal planets square to Pluto gives that difficulty a particularly spicy 🌶️ flavor—even moreso when Pluto is operating in his own house, the 8th.

for this inaugural entry of the 𝔓𝔩𝔲𝔱𝔬 ℭ𝔥𝔯𝔬𝔫𝔦𝔠𝔩𝔢𝔰, i’ll be publicly shedding an old skin. 🐍 a story that needs to be told, &in the telling provides release from its too-small casing. writing this story, shedding this skin, frees me from its vice grip.

i genuinely believe that honestly &openly relating our experiences dealing with the darker parts of life ultimately makes that darkness less scary for everyone. as someone with 2 “hard” pluto aspects in my birth chart, i often find myself seeking others who can speak plainly about the difficulty &confusion that crops up in the life of someone (me! 🙋🏾‍♀️) with these placements. im now ready to speak plainly as a light in darkness. 🔦

the first series of the Pluto Chronicles has 3 parts. in each part, i’ll share insights from a different astrologer who’s written about hard (square, opposition, conjunction) sun-pluto aspects. i’ve picked a few relevant quotes from each person &used them as writing prompts to help me excavate some of my own dark material.

“This is a highly karmic aspect - especially karma from their father or paternal side of the family. They are essentially breaking the taboos and secrets their ancestors couldn't didn't dare to speak about and confront. These people are the ILLUMINATORS who shift their family's paradigm around heavier, darker topics. They don't have to dig for any familial secrets, though. If they do their personal shadow work, they will break the chains of karma for all past and future generations.”

this resonates so strongly for me &my life to this point. no doubt, both sides of my family have mountains of unresolved trauma: inter-generational alcoholism, drug use, suicide, poor life choices, estrangement, &toxic relationship dynamics persist. but my paternal roots are where many of the darker, unconscious Plutonian drives fester. and no, i didn’t have to dig for any of these secrets: they came to me directly, in the form of early childhood abuse.

i became my family’s secret-keeper, &thus the family scapegoat by necessity. i was made to feel disempowered &gaslit into complete disconnection from my own sense of self, because that was what was necessary to keep the family secret A SECRET. when i finally dared to speak my truth i received little support, &it became clear that i was expected to maintain the status quo or be punished. my need to individuate, to discover &become who i truly am—to grow &evolve as a person—meant that i had to cut myself off from my family tree 🌳 &re-plant myself in more fertile soil. so i did. 🌱

“Their father, and specifically his relationship to his Shadow, and the darker aspects of life, played a big role in the formation of their personality, and how they view themselves. There are three scenarios here - 1) he was either a PUNISHER of the shadows (could've literally worked as a policeman, for example); he was an EXPLORER (psychologist, investigator) or he was a HEALER - occultist, energy worker, etc. These are three levels of consciousness. If he punished the shadows - his and the world's - the more shame and guilt he could've projected onto his child(ren). These people might feel as if he's always monitoring their steps, and they can't hide anything from him - especially their mistakes or anything "taboo". If they were heavily judged or punished, they will grow up feeling guilty and ashamed of a very big part of what makes them human. This affects how they view themselves - they can either see themselves as a Divine Child, with both the Yin and Yang, light and dark within or as a Beast, some sort of a Devil responsible for all the evil in the world. They should know that whatever it was, it had nothing to do with them and EVERYTHING to do with their father's own degree of self-acceptance and wholeness. Nonetheless, their relationship with him is/was intense, and there might've been a lot of power struggles involved.”

yes YES yes. my father fell into the “punisher” scenario. not a policeman, but a staunchly fundamentalist &authoritarian man of faith. he was never a pastor—but throughout my life i’ve had multiple people assume that my father was a preacher because of the way he acts &carries himself. ✝️

this did, in fact, affect how i saw myself. my father is a covert narcissist &my entire world, from day one, revolved around him &his needs. i looked up to him, saw him as smart &charming, &truly believed that he really was the absolute moral authority that he liked to project himself as.

he treated me as an extension of himself. he ruled over my life like a king 👑 and everything i did was ultimately treated as a reflection on him. it was all about keeping up appearances. i was a very obedient child because i was genuinely terrified of my father.

this projected image of my father—a deeply private man with a Scorpio moon whose own birth chart is full of harsh Pluto contacts—was so bright that i had no choice but to repress my own authentic truths &experiences that contradicted his lily white persona.

in fact, i internalized a lot of his shadow as my own. my chart is filled with retrograde planets. i also have 4 personal planets in Virgo in the 6th house. these are introverted, judgemental &introspective placements. for a majority of my life, every way that i could possibly look at &relate to myself was through a lens of shame.

i kept countless journals throughout my adolescence. re-reading them as an adult in 2021 and 2022 when i was living with my parents again broke my heart. i genuinely believed that i was a bad person. i believed that god hated me, was constantly seeking to punish me, &that there was something inherently wrong with me that would insure that i would never feel at home within myself. i believed i deserved to be punished for making a decision in my own best interest because that is how i was treated by my father.

it was totally normal for me, as an 18 &19 year old, to be completely in fear of making simple decisions for myself because i genuinely believed that my heart was “deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked” like the Bible says.

so, yes. this quote struck me because my father did see himself as ‘punisher’ of the shadow. when he chose to abuse me, i became the vessel for his own shadow. because no one could know that the bright &shiny moral man of god is actually raping his daughter at night, right? so i became the one who needed to be punished, suppressed, &shamed. to survive, i internalized that shame &repressed my actual experiences.

it’s only after confronting him &going no-contact with my family that i have been able to get any perspective on this. writing all of this out is liberating.

this is my truth!

i made the decision to start therapy at age 27 (the first time in my life i could afford health insurance), &this kicked off the long process of separating myself from my father’s projections/expectations.

when i began seeing a therapist, i had no idea i’d had a traumatic childhood. i had almost no recollection of my life before the age of 13 &any time anyone began to speak fondly about their own childhood memories, i would often get inexplicably angry &want to cry. yet, i remember telling my therapist that i’d had “a good childhood. it was normal &i was happy.” 🙃

except…for all the years i’d been depressed but didn’t know why. &uh, i’d never really gotten along with my parents. my siblings and i weren’t very close. &any good memories i did have from adolescence were not with family, but with friends &other people’s families. yep! perfectly good childhood over here! 🤡

i only went to therapy for a year and a half; my therapist wasn’t “trauma-informed” as they say. i didn’t uncover anything very useful in our sessions, however, suddenly having space to simply express what was on my mind began to make me feel as though maybe it’s okay for me to have my own opinions. maybe it’s okay to prioritize my own thoughts, ideas, desires, &feelings.

typing that out right now makes me feel for this version of myself. because, no, i did not know that that was okay. therapy really was the first step to freedom &onto the path down into the Underworld for me. i’m really proud of my past self for being brave enough to take that step. forever grateful! 🫶🏾

therapy was my introduction to the shadow. it’s where i first began looking within, asking questions, &wondering why i was the way that i was. it’s also how i discovered that i really like psychology &digging into why people act the ways that they do.

as i write this, i can confidently say that choosing to face my shadow has been the most rewarding decision i have ever made. each time i confront something confusing &scary within myself, i feel pain—but i also discover buried treasure!

traversing the Underworld is like going thru a dungeon on a video game. you’re facing challenges &battling scary shit, but you also find chests filled with gold &items that help you defeat the Dungeon Master 🗡️

this is just the first step to a long and drawn out process of bringing the dense themes of my 8th house back from the dark unconscious corners of my 12th. i have much more to say, but that’s why i created the Pluto Chronicles. i want to dive deep into just what it feels like to have a dance with Pluto. everyone experiences Pluto differently, &some won’t have a need to develop a relationship with Plutonian energies at all in this lifetime.

i’ll be sharing bits of my own story as i explore themes of sex &sexuality, abuse within toxic family systems, power vs. powerlessness, fear, control &obsession in relationships. just the tip of Pluto’s iceberg! i will also, in real time, relate to you as best i can what the oft-referenced but rarely described regeneration process looks &feels like for me.

Wanted to make a rec post about a bunch of random sci-fi manga i like and hope that others enjoy as well.

Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction:

A story about 2 young women in their day to day lives as a giant alien ship looms over Tokyo. A fair bit of the story focuses modern social political issues in Japan and the mystery surrounding the mothership and the aliens and why they are there.

The series will get two movie adaptations later this year.

Dai Dark:

The story mainly revolves zaha sanko and how a legend exist that if one gets ahold of his bones they will have any wish granted to them, and so sanko needs to search through space in order to find whoever put this curse on him and kill them. The manga is made by Q Hayashida and features a very gritty world with very goofy and fun characters.

Battle Angel Alita/Gunnm:

A story mostly about a cyborg with a sense for battle wanting to fin her origins after crashing on earth. The series has 3 entries so far with the third being on hiatus sadly, the 3 series being Alita battle angel, baa last order and baa mars chronicle. However the series has excellent art a very good story and great action.

It currently has a 1993 anime and a live action movie

20th Century Boys

The story revolves around a group of adults who in their youth created a symbol to represent their friendship which is then used by some malevolent character called friend in the future for his own cult and his goal to take over the world. With most of the story being about trying to recall who he may be and how to stop his plot. Its a VERY story and dialogue heavy series, but its all worth it once everything starts clicking.

it has a short sequel series that contains the ending of the actual series called "21st century boys"

Pluto

Made by the same person as 20th century boys Naoki urasawa, its an adaptation of "the greatest robot on earth" story with its own unique spin. Its about the ongoing murders of the seven most powerful robots on earth. It deals in a lot of stuff about the sentience of the robots and their rights.

It currently has a full anime adaptation on netflix.

Planetes

A lot of the story mainly focuses on the struggles and relationships of the main characters with space mainly being a backdrop. Its a very interpersonal story and i can't really do it justice by just describing it so i recommend reding or watching it yourself.

It also has a full anime adaptation.

10,000 light year binoculars

This one is just a oneshot but i enjoyed it so much that i really had to rec it. Its about an alien girl with binoculars that allow her to spy on a boy on earth from her own planet and wanting to meet him someday. The entire oneshot is in color, the art is great AND its short.

Star tripper: Planetarium Ghost Travel

A very comfy manga that only recently stared to get fantranslated. Its about a guy called 303 going to "ghost planets where most of the inhabitants have gone into a deep sleep and turned into trees.

Heavenly Delusion/Tengoku Daimakyou

And finally Heavenly, it has two concurrent plotlines with the first one being about a boy and a girl going through a post apocalyptic Japan looking for "new heaven", while the second is about a group a kids in a sterile facility wanting to go explore outside the walls of said facility.

It has an anime that covers the first 5 volumes.

And those are all my sci-fi recs for the moment!!! Hope someone finds something new to enjoy of these here. apologies if the writing ain't the best i wrote this at like 3 am.

Riordanverse characters who never interact in canon, yet I'm convinced they'd be best friends: A compiled list with explanations because I think about this way to often.

1) Georgina (Trials of Apollo) & Harley (Heroes of Olympus & Trials of Apollo)

There are four works in the Georgina & Harley tag on ao3, and all four have been written by me, that's how series I am about this friendship.

Firstly, I headcanon that the reason there's no year rounders during The Sun and The Star is because most of them decided to go to Waystation to attend school. Harley's eight in The Hidden Oracle and has already been at camp for at least a year and a half, minimum (as he's in the Hephaestus Cabin in The Lost Hero, and it's stated that no Hephaestus kid as come to camp in months before Leo), so why else would he all of a sudden not be a year rounder? He's certainly not staying to fight in the wars like some other demigods.

Now, back to Georgie and Harley. They're only a year apart, if that, and the other is probably the first person they've ever met close to their age, which would definitely spark friendship. Secondly, both of them have a sibling-like relationship with Leo (I almost started sobbing when Leo told Harley about how he was the one who helped him find his way back home in The Hidden Oracle, Leo and Harley are such an underrated sibling pair), which will bond them. And three, both are incredibly artistic and love building things. Just imagine Georgie and Harley drawing plans for the Waystation together? Adorable.

2) Kayla Knowles (Percy Jackson & Trials of Apollo) & Sadie Kane (Kane Chronicles)

They'd dye their hair together, chew bubblegum and eat lollypops, complain about their nerdy older brothers, and show off their skills to each other. They'd be an unstoppable duo.

3) Alex Fierro (Magnus Chase) & Lavinia Asimov (Trials of Apollo)

Queer kid with a designated color pallet, a non-common weapon, whom is incredibly artistic? You can't tell whether I'm talking about Alex or Lavinia (hint, it's both)

Match made in Elysium (or Valhalla in Alex's case). Lavinia would show Alex some simple tap steps, and Alex would show off her pottery skills, and teach some to Lavinia. Lavinia thinks Alex's garrote is the coolest thing ever, and Alex keeps petitioning for a manuballista fight in Valhalla. (Odin has not agreed yet, but Alex is not deterred in the slightest).

4) Kayla Knowles, Sadie Kane, Alex Fierro, & Lavinia Asimov

You're not surprised in the slightest, are you? These four make a deadly quartet of died hair, weapons, and bubblegum, and I adore them for it. As for why I did Kayla & Sadie and Lavinia & Alex seperately, it's because I think they'd be closest with their respectively friend pairing, but also they'd make a great friend group. I'm already in love.

5) Hazel Levesque (Heroes of Olympus & Trials of Apollo) & Butch Walker (Heroes of Olympus)

Intimidating son of a non-intimidating goddess and a non-intimidating daughter of an intimidating god. Also, they both adore horses, and I could totally see them hanging out in the Pegasus stables when Hazel's visiting Camp Half-Blood.

6) Nico di Angelo (Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, Trials of Apollo, & The Sun and the Star) & Blanche (Chalice of the Gods)

The second Child of Hades/Pluto & Child of Iris friendship??? But seriously, these two would be besties. Both only ever dress in monochromatic clothing, and Blanche is literally known for her ghost stories at camp and Nico is the Ghost King? Blanche would beg Nico to help her out with her photography—the Hades Cabin is literally her aesthetic to the tee, and she loves photographing dead things. Nico would summon a skeleton so she could photograph it on dead grass Nico accidently killed.

And if they did joint ghost stories? All I'm saying is they could charge an admission fee and the amphitheatre would still be full. (The effects they can do with Blanche's, well blanching, power, and Nico's shadow manipulating would go insane)

7) Piper McLean (Heroes of Olympus & Trials of Apollo) and Silena Beauregard (Percy Jackson)

They would be that sibling pair at camp, and it's such a horror that we never got to experience it.

Silena would help Piper tap into her more feminine side, and show her that not all femininity is bad—which Piper has a lot of trauma revolving—and I think would help Piper come to terms with her feelings for Jason and her queerness a lot faster than it actually happened, because Silena would help her talk through it instead of bottling it up. (Besides, Silena knows all about crushing on boys and girls *cough* Beckendorf and Clarisse *cough*).

In turn, I think Piper would help Silena with her fighting skills and strength. Yes, Silena has Clarisse, but Clarisse is a hit hard and don't back down fighter, while Piper would be more patient, which is what Silena would need. Also, they both know what it's like to be manipulated and have to make choices about whether or not their friends and family will live or die, and that's a common ground for them both.

8) Nico di Angelo & Mitchell (Heroes of Olympus)

This is solely because of the fic, Gurrlfriend by Erikthonius on ao3. Honestly, if you've read that, you'd understand where I'm coming from. I don't have any other evidence besides that.

Since it's almost Christmas, how do you usually spend Christmas? And... Christmas is a family holiday, so... Can you tell us about Aunt Melinda?

'Round this time of year, I'm always doin' great. I can't believe it's almost Christmas!!! 🎅🦌

Gosh, what don't I do for Christmas? I feel like I have so many holiday traditions that Christmas ends up feelin' more like a marathon than a holiday, ha ha. Though don't think that I mean that in a bad way. I just love Christmas 💝 and everythin' that comes with it. It's actually my favorite holiday ever, and I don't mean for the gifts 😉. There's just something 'bout this time of year that feels so magical and musical, the world just feels like a better place...

But back to your question. I would argue that our Christmas technically starts on Christmas Eve. Goofy and his son always invite Minnie, Pluto, and me to go carolin' in the evenin'. In fact, they're gonna be here in a couple of hours. I love carolin' so much. It's always a ton of fun and gets me right into the Christmas spirit. Sometimes if we're lucky people will even give us some holiday treats or even come out and join us. I think last year we had 'bout 15 people in our group. I would love to see that number grow this year. After that, we'd stop by my house and pick at least one present under the tree 🎄 to open, with Max and Goofy bringin' gifts from their tree.

After that, we'd leave out some freshly baked cookies for Santa and watch Christmas special after Christmas special in the livin' room until we fall asleep. The next day we would then wake up to even more gifts from Santa and spend all mornin' opening them. I admit I always enjoyed watchin' the other's faces light up when they see what I got 'em. After that Minnie and I start preparin' the Christmas lunch while Max and Goofy start workin' on some crafts. They have this neat tradition where every year they sew a new patch onto their stocking, though usually, Goofy ends up sewing his sweater instead, ha ha. 😆

Oh! And this is usually the time Aunt Melinda arrives. Gosh, what can I say 'bout Aunt Melinda? She's really kind, supportive, and probably one of the smartest people I know. It truly does feel like she knows everythin' sometimes as she always knew exactly what to say. It's probably how she kept me out of trouble when I visited her as a kid, which is real impressive if you knew how I used to be 😅. But I really think she's responsible for fosterin' my creativity and love for problem solvin'.

When I was young, every time I saw her she would always give me a small puzzle to solve by the end of the day. I remember lookin' so forward to these (I still do actually) and would spend hours tryin' to figure it out. Every time I did, she would hand me the tastiest piece of candy I ever had. I could never figure out what brand it was or where to get more, which I guess meant if I wanted more I had to solve more puzzles. She also got me into my favorite book series "The Chirikawa Chronicles" as it was one of the many books she would read to me every night. Ya know it's funny, she can be a bit overprotective and from the outside can even come across as just a homely country lady, but I always felt like there was more to her that I just couldn't see. Almost like she was hidin' it.

But back to Christmas, 'bout lunchtime is usually when everyone, includin' our friends from Duckburg, arrives. We'd open a couple more gifts and then have a massive potluck lunch together. After that, we'd have all sorts of competitions and activities. There was Christmas karaoke, ugly sweater fashion shows, ornament making, and probably the most anticipated event of 'em all, the Annual Gingerbread House Contest, also known as the AGHC. Every year was always competitive and I bet this year will be no exception. I'm the judge this year since my gingerbread hotel won last time and I'm excited to see what everyone makes. Daisy claims to have a gingerbread "condo" that will blow everyone else's out of the water, but I guess we'll have to see. 😉

But after we've had our fun, we actually finish the day doin' somethin' a bit different to help us remember what this time's really 'bout. Every year on Christmas day, everyone heads over to the Mouseton Soup Kitchen and spends the rest of our evenin' passin' out food to those who need it. This is always my favorite part as I get to help people out and listen to all their wonderful stories. I really feel like I'm fully getting to understand all of Mouseton and the people who live here through this moment. There are so many wonderful people here and it's so nice to give back durin' such a wonderful time of the year. I actually managed to make a deal with a local department store to donate some extra stock to the families in need as gifts, I can't wait to see how that turns out.

Or is there no fight at all, just... what?

How do you resolve discordant tones without throwing the whole piece into the thrash?

16. Shin Densetsu Kourin (1998) I don't know exactly why, but something about the musical bothers me. I think the idea of ​​antagonists from three different seasons is cool. But somehow it's too over the top for me. Unfortunately, there's not much to say about the cast, as most of them only appear once. Which I find very unfortunate in the case of the Sailor Pluto actress, for example. Some of my favorites make their first appearance here, like Nao and Ayano. Hikari and Yuuta Mochizuki are also there, which I love.

15. Un Nouveau Voyage (2015) Perhaps an unpopular opinion but there are a few things that bother me about this musical. For one thing, it's not the musical itself that's to blame. It's the last musical with these Inner Senshi. I like Hotaru and her Inners but I think Satomi & Co are better.I don't like Airi Kanda as Chibiusa. I think she's too old for the role, which is particularly noticeable in Le Mouvement Final. The antagonists are so forgettable. What I think is good is that they gave more light to Professor Tomoe's backstory. But the most important part: the Outer Senshi. And that's where the musical fails for me. Because I don't like the Outer Senshi except for Pluto. Haruka is too shy for me and the role of leader is more likely to be taken by Michiru. Michiru is very cold and aloof. Yes, Michiru is like that, after all, it's reflected in her planet. Neptune is the coldest planet in our solar system. But what is the most important thing for the third story arc: Sailor Saturn.  But in the musical we never have a good Saturn when you need her. Karin is a good Hotaru. The vulnerable and sickly Hotaru. The friendship with Chibiusa is also well portrayed. But I don't know who came up with the idea that Karin also plays Misstress 9. That might sound good in theory, but not in practice. Karin is too young for Misstress 9 in my opinion. After my complaints, there are of course things that I liked. The reference to the 90s anime, for example Venus pretending to be Sailor Moon. The labyrinth theme was expanded more. I like that there is no argument with Usagi and Mamoru over Haruka and the scene in general.

14. Kaguya-hime no Koibito (2021) A musical based on one of the films/the longest short story. I think it's generally nice that this story has now been made into a musical. It's a beautiful musical that gets emotional at the end. The focus is on Luna, who falls in love with Kakeru. Most of the action revolves around Luna & Kakeru. But the rest of the cast fades into the background and doesn't really play a big role. Sailor Saturn appears in the play even though she doesn't appear in the film or the short story. There are good songs and I like the way Luna was portrayed. The effects are great too. It's a beautiful musical that's very suitable for the Christmas season because of the light winter-Christmas atmosphere.

13. 30th Anniversary Musical Festival Chronicle (2022) The only small original story in the new musicals. It is more or less a continuation of the previous musical Kaguya-hime no Koibito. I think it's nice that a new story was told. Even if not much was made of it. More could have been made of it. More could have been done with the brainwashed Snow Luna. That she actually attacks the Senshi. That there is a fight and Usagi doesn't want to fight because after all it's her friend Luna that's at stake. Maybe even that Luna herself defeats Snow Princess Kaguya and not Sailor Moon.But the focus is more on the songs. After all, it is an anniversary musical. There so many songs around 30 (lol). It contains songs from all the new musicals, even from The Super Live, one from Bandai Myu and a few new ones. Very good songs were selected and the end is quite emotional. Unfortunately, Bandai Myu was not referred to much, even though there were guests from the musicals. They probably wanted to put more focus on the new ones, as many viewers don't know the old musicals at all and Nelke doesn't have the rights to them yet. Nelke probably wants to promote its musicals more. The cast is good, but the characters are pushed into the background due to the many songs. The problem that it is difficult to say anything about the cast is that there is already a predecessor.  In the predecessor, the focus is on Luna and here are the songs more in the foreground.

12. Gaiden Dark Kingdom Fukkatsu- Hen (1993) Some people will wonder how this musical has made it this far despite having so many weaknesses. There are logical gaps, plot holes and overall it doesn't make much sense. The wigs and costumes are pretty ugly. The dancing and singing weren't as good as they were later. It takes place after the first season but the Dark Kingdom returns without explanation. Why didn't they just tell the first season straight away? Overall it's more based on the anime than the manga. But why is it so far ahead despite that? I think you could call it a guilty pleasure or compare it to trash TV. It's so bad it's good.Purely in terms of staging and production quality, it's obviously not good, especially when you compare it to Festival Chronicle, KaguyaMyu and Un Nouveau Voyage.

11. Le Mouvement Final (2017) I know it's an unpopular opinion and I don't know what bothers me. The music is great, the costumes are beautiful just like before, it's emotional. It's a very close adaptation of the last act. Satomi comes back as Sailor Cosmos. But I think the problem lies in the underlying story arc itself. I like the star act, but I like all story arcs. A lot of the characters fade into the background because almost all of them die in the course of the first act. That's why many of the actresses don't have much stage time. The relationships between the characters suffer a lot as a result, and the development of the characters. It's like at the beginning when Usagi is alone again. In the manga, many more characters die who don't appear in the musical, like the three cats and some of Galaxia's subordinates. But it's cool that a story finally doesn't take place on Earth. Sailor Moon is about planetary warriors, but it's always only about Earth.

10. Mugen Gakuen Misstress Labyrinth & Kaiteiban (2002 - 2003) Like Un Nouveau Voyage, it is a musical for the third season. But it was the first musical for the third story arc that included all the characters. All the antagonists and all the Senshi are there. I really like the Outer Senshi in this musical, but we're talking about Nao, Yuka, and Yuko, after all. It was also Nao's & Yuka's last musical. Saturn doesn't do much, but she also shows the vulnerable and sickly Hotaru. We have a separate Misstress 9 actress who also seems very threatening. I generally like the villains here better. The problem I have with this musical are the supporting characters that were invented for this musical. The alien family from Planet Grimm. I don't understand why they exist, they add a lot more confusion and are unnecessary in my opinion. It becomes unnecessarily complicated. There are far too many of them. There are original characters that are well written, like in Kaguya Shima Densetsu, but not here. Without the supporting characters the musical would be higher.

9. Amour Eternal (2016) The second musical for the fourth story arc. It is a mixture of the manga, anime and the other fourth season musical. I like the Outer Senshi much more here than in the previous one. The trio is very likeable and Nehellinia can sing very well and seems very threatening. From here on, more effects are used which are very nice. The music is very good. The only thing that disappointed me were the circus scenes. That is probably because I really like the other fourth season musical and the circus scene is incredibly good. Abd I'm also a little sad that Satomi & Co don't play the Inner Senshi anymore.

8. 10th Anniversary Festival- Ai no Sanctuary (2002) Yes, like Festival Chronicle, it's just an anniversary musical. But with its own story that is much more developed. The wrestling theme didn't appeal to me and that part is a bit tiring. It goes too far with the epicness, as if Sailor Moon had just defeated all the villains from all the seasons at once. But I did have a lot of fun with this musical. I've also watched it without subtitles. I think you can only like this musical if you know a lot about Sera Myu. Firstly, the songs are all really good. It has to be said that they chose very popular songs. Some songs are variations of earlier songs, some songs are completely new and were written especially for this, some songs never appeared again afterwards. Many popular actors made their last appearance here or their penultimate appearance here. An era came to an end here during the Bandai era.

7. Dracul Arc (2000 - 2001) The only musicals that tell a big, complex story. They were my first musicals, even if they aren't really suitable for beginners. It's an original story with lots of new characters. You have to watch the musicals several times to understand everything. But I like the actors, the music and the extensive story that is told. And Miyuki Kanbe (my favorite Moon actress) plays Sailor Moon.

6. Petite Éstrangère (2014) I like the musical a lot. I like the Inners a lot, but that was also the case in the previous series. Some scenes are very funny. Chibiusa isn't annoying. I like the antagonists and the plot twist with Saphir and Demande is particularly cool. Some logical gaps from the manga have been fixed. But my highlight is definitely Sailor Pluto. I like Pluto's song a lot and her friendship and motherly relationship with Chibiusa is portrayed very well. Something that I missed in the other second season musical. Pluto's death is very emotional and how sad Chibiusa is.

5. Tanjou Ankoku no Princess Black Lady & Kaiteiban Wakusei Nemesis no Nazo (2002 - 2003) The first musical for the second season was already mentioned. It's cool that all the Outer Senshi are there even though we're in the Black Moon Arc and how they were included. That's probably because the actresses were very popular. Chibiusa isn't annoying and comes out with the truth very quickly and everything happens a bit faster. I particularly like the antagonists, Demande, who has a very strong character development at the end and gives a very emotional monologue. Of the original characters, I especially like the two little girls Aaron and Mana.Black Lady seems very evil and threatening. Although I have to say that I like the Black Lady from the original better and I don't like the second Chibiusa in Kaiteiban so much. Mao Kawasaki was Chibiusa and Chibi Chibi before and is an incredibly good Black Lady.Unfortunately I think Pluto's death doesn't have as much impact as in Petite Éstrangère because Chibiusa and Pluto only get to know each other at the beginning. In Petite Éstrangère the relationship is there from the start.

4. La Reconquista (2013) It was the first musical I saw after the Dracula arc. It is the first Sailor Moon Musicals by Nelke Planning and the second musical for the first season. However, it takes a lot of liberties and is the only one of the new musicals that doesn't stick so closely to the manga. The first act has nothing to do with the manga. The Senshi/Shitennou romance plays a big role but with the focus on Ami & Zoisite and that is very cute. It is the only one of the new musicals that has an original character that I really like. I also like some things much better than the manga. Like the Senshi really giving their lives to wake Usagi up again because the (stupid) moon phase clock doesn't exist here. But there is more but I don't want to list it all. I like the soundtrack and I think it's one of the musicals I've seen most often. You could almost call it a guilty pleasure.The portrayal of Usagi and Mamoru's relationship is a little strange and more reminiscent of the 90s anime. I don't know if that was the intention but it is a problem that runs through almost all of the newer musicals.  It reminds me of Bandai Myu because it does its own thing. The remnants of Bandai Myu are still noticeable here in contrast to the musicals that followed.

3. Nogizaka 46 Version Musical (2018, 2019 & 2024) The musical is pretty much the opposite of La Reconquista. You could say it's an shortened version of the manga as a musical. I have to say that the Dark Kingdom Arc is my favorite story arc. For the first time, the awakening of the Senshi is addressed. Luna returns as a doll after 25 years. Naru & Umino appear for the first time. One thing is for sure, the effects are absolutely amazing. There are real live on stage transformations here. I also really like the songs, but some of them are repeated a lot, which is a bit annoying. The antagonists are also great, especially with the Shitennou, you can see how much fun they're having. We have the Senshi & Shitennou romance again here, but with the focus on Kunzite and Minako. Also, Kunzite's death is the reason why Venus defeats Beryl with the holy sword. It's a shame that Tuxedo Mask doesn't have his own song, but the focus is on the well-known idols who play the Senshi. It also bothers me that the musical ends with the start of the second story arc, but the subsequent seasons were never implemented in this form. I don't think that will happen. I don't want to go into the individual versions and teams in more detail here, since all five versions basically tell the same story.

2. Kaguya Shima Densetsu & Kaiteiban Natsuyasumi Houseki Tanken-Tai (1999) A musical that, like the Dracul Arc, tells a completely original story. I know there's a remake and a revised version, but I'm only talking about the original and the revised version in particular. What can I say, the cast is great throughout. Almost all of my favorite actors are there. Yuuta Mochizuki and Hikari are there too. I know there's hardly any Senshi Time, but that doesn't really bother me. This way we see a lot more of civilian life and relationships. I also think the idea of ​​two groups of villains with different goals is great. Some of the effects are pretty cool, like the boat getting caught in a storm or the dragon breathing fire.I know the story is developed more in the remake, but as I said, I'm only talking about the original and Kaiteiban here. The kittens can be a bit annoying, but oh well. The songs are all great and I would have liked Fumina to be around longer than Moon.

1. Yume Senshi Ai eien ni & Kaiteban Saturn Fukkatsu- Hen (1995 - 1996) And finally my favorite musical. Yume Senshi Ai eien ni, especially the Kaiteiban. I think it's great how Hotaru was incorporated into the Death Moon Circus. Thank you to whoever had the idea. We also finally see that Saturn is the Sailor Guardian of renewal and not just destruction. She wakes up with a mega song and brings the Senshi and Mamoru back to life. She also frees the souls of the trio. I think the idea that the Senshi want to take part in the circus is cool and it's funny that Usagi can't get anything done. Fish Eye hits on Mamoru but he clearly shows no interest. (Points that were carried over into Amour Eternal, even if I don't think the implementation with Fish Eye is so good) I love the swing scene. Usagi and Mamoru are very well implemented in this musical. Generally speaking, I think Anza and Yuuta do a great job. Chibiusa and Helios' relationship is also very well portrayed and I'm glad that no one was put in a Pegasus costume.  I find the theory of Yuuta Enomoto as Helios really interesting. Their voices are really similar. Especially since both musicals start with the same song. The Senshi are brainwashed but Usagi can free them. The song is very emotional and I had to cry. The effects are cool and we have a recorded transformation. We get to see Eternal Sailor Moon for the first time. And my highlight is the circus scene. It's actually just a dream of Usagi's but whatever. Usagi and Chibiusa ride unicycles, Ami walks on a ball, Rei and Makoto perform a magic trick, Minako dances with the trio. Tigers Eye breaks balloons with his whip, clowns walk in the air (there's a rope, I know) and lots of acrobatics. The transvestite jokes were unnecessary but you can see that the musical is old and that makes Amour Eternal better.  It was not without reason that I said that Amour Eternal has some similarities or was inspired by it.

Okay so I've come across this "the siblings who don't look alike at all but actually" thing a bunch, with the biggest evidence being the Hermes cabin.

And that's where I just stop. It's the Hermes cabin. 1. Percy, the narrator, doesn't even know if those are children of Hermes. 2. Leo "Bad Boy Supreme" Valdez is described basically the same as those kids by Jason. Shifty eyes, thin smiles. 3. Hermes is the God of Travelers and Hospitality. There's no guarantee that those are his kids to begin with, or that they are and their parents don't share the same facial features.

And then some people say "the gods don't change their appearance!" Yes, they do, and it's called "Western Civilization." Throughout KC and PJO we see multiple iterations of the gods being described. "Hitler without a Hitler stache" Pluto, Aphrodite Aphroditeing, Kane Chronicles and the multitude of avatars and stories of just Osiris, Iset, and Horus.

And like, you can dislike the Senior Saga all you want, but Hebe. Hebe alone dispels the "The gods don't change their appearance!" argument with one scene. The chick scene. She cannot control her appearance, and neither can Poseidon. With this logic I can safely say that none of the gods can, and it's purely based around how people already view the Greek gods (Hades is often viewed as evil, and as such would probably be depicted as some really bad politician.)

Now to mention the whole "Gods don't have DNA" thing, which is often said to be an excuse to have Annabeth and Percy be able to date. Like, okay. Sure that makes sense as an argument. People point out that "Annabeth and all her siblings have grey eyes, just like Athena!" And yes. That is a good point. Counter point, those children are literally thought into existence. That could just be Athena's Trademark. And also, this is a book series with Greek gods that have physical real bodies with real influence over many things. I don't think we should dwell too much on the DNA thing, especially as these are, ya know. Gods. With the ability to magically manipulate a specific domain of nature. Who says they don't just subconsciously make their kids look how they want their kids to look. That's not even DNA at that point, it's just magic.

Like, I don't mind the argument. I just don't have a canon reason to believe it or enough evidence. I think it's cool and fun. It should definitely be a Fic. I don't think it should be projected onto Rick's Characters.

I do encourage a light bit of debating. I do not encourage being a dick. Please, keep it respectful if you disagree. I have a bunch of the books (all of the books that aren't short stories) and I can always look up a page number if you provide it.
