Certainly can't go wrong with Sandylion- it's where my love of stickers began in the 90s! A local supermarket used to sell them and my grandfather would buy me a strip of stickers every time we went there. I still have the Sandylion sticker album he bought me 🦁

Took Birgitte for a walk the other morning

Today is International Day of Play! We hope you all remember how healing it is to play, no matter how old you are.

When I was little, I remember seeing two old ladies in McDonald's playing with their happy meal toys, making them talk to each other. That was the moment I decided "I'm going to be like them when I'm 80!"

Could you please tell me about Charlie bears? I really want one but I don't know much about them, I'm in the USA so they're kinda hard to find but I did find a shop kinda close to me and I'm going the 19th to maybe get one😁 If you have any could I see them, please and thank you -Dal

Sure! Here are most of my Charlie Bears. I'll answer your questions under the cut.

Charlie Bears have two main 'types': their jointed bears that are generally collector items, and their more cuddly Bearhouse bears that are not jointed. They also do palm sized 'beanie baby' types called Cuddle Cubs:

I personally would recommend the Bearhouse bears over the jointed kind because they tend to be more cuddly, if that's a consideration. Most of them are also done in a jointed style that gives the appearance of a jointed bear, even if their joints don't actually move.

Bear (hah) in mind that Charlie Bears are not as cuddly as a lot of other plush brands. While they can be cuddled, they can be quite 'hard' compared to, say, Jellycat- even the Bearhouse ones. They are also significantly heavier than most other plush brands, at least the bigger ones are!

Personally, I love my Charlie Bears, but they tend to be 'sit on the back of my chair and look pretty' plush. I find them too big/heavy to carry and too hard to cuddle much. On the other hand, I take my Cuddle Cubs around with me often because they're tiny and squishy 👍🏻

Yet another agere 'what's in my bag', I actually wasn't planning this, I was throwing stuff onto my bed for later and decided to do it since I was halfway there already.

Here's some of the stuff I carry around on the sad kiddo days:

Paw Patrol backpack, prepped for any scenario

Special interest graphic novel, full of comfort characters

Old storybook (old fashioned, comforting)

Birgitte to protect me, nobody loves you like a wolf does

Wireless earbuds for listening to comfort books on Audible

Practical stuff like medicines in a cool tin

Wipes and plasters in case of bumps and scrapes

A water bottle for hydration, catching fairies, etc
