My undercooked thylacine joey...... Don't know its name or gender yet, it's just the joey.

I made this silly wee thing without a pattern in October 2024 after thinking of the idea with @wolfies-toys (who made their own joey too... it is much cuter and less raw lol)

It has a magnetic mouth, and I made it a tiny dummy using a button, some beads and a plastic ring.

It's really too young to be out of the pouch yet! Until Artemisia came along and provided a pouch, Joe was doing her best with the hood of her cardigan... Now the joey gets two mums, yay :)

Someone special arrived today... "Pathfinder" the Thylacine by Charlie Bears. Pre ordered for a year or so!

She has... A SURPRISE POUCH. I didn't expect this detail, it's not big enough for her to be a hand puppet but it's spacious enough to hide secrets inside. It does look slightly obscene (thylobscene), but a brave and bold choice from the designer Isabelle Lee, I admire her dedication to accuracy.

One thing of note with this plush is that the nose is very "compressed".

Being a plush meddler, I made the choice to free her snoot from the tyranny of thread sculpting with the intent of re-sculpting her head myself.

However after fishing out all these threads from below her chin I'm actually happy with her new deeper snoot and it didn't seem to affect anything else, so I didn't need to do any more sculpting after all.

Her eyes also were a little marked with ink from where they applied her eyeliner, I ended up cleaning her eyes with alcohol and blending the markings a bit more in the process.

I need to come up with a name for her, I feel like she might be a Gingersnap.

Sooooo Pathfinder arrived! ...and had some issues :')

His eyes were scratched and had marker on them, and the markings around his eyes weren't great.

Spent some time working on him and he looks much better imo!!

Used Polywatch to lift the scratches a fair bit, but didn't wanna overdo it so there R still like,,, some visible marks.

Used isopropyl alcohol to lift the marker off his eyes, then used watered down water based acrylic paint so do his eye markings.

He's not perfect, nothing ever is, but we r a lot happier with him + think he looks much better!!

His name is Higgs btw!! Named him after a character from Death Stranding BC of the intense eye makeup (and the uh. Extinction stuff I guess?)

introducing my belated birthday present to myself… PATHFINDER! y’all. to say i’m overjoyed to have my own thylacine plush after years of wanting one is an understatement. to have pathfinder be my first is simply wonderful!! i’ve never had a charlie bear before but when i saw that they announced a thylacine, i had to cave. i’m so in love with his quality! the lifelike fur, wonderful details, and POUCH (very impressed with cb for committing to accuracy with that!), pathfinder and i will be fast friends. i ordered him from a shop in hobart, tasmania (his homeland!) and they were so kind to send a birth certificate and personalized note, too :)

Artemisia (she/her)

My 'Pathfinder' by Charlie Bears, pre-ordered about a year ago and finally arrived in February. Had her name picked out for a few months lol, fancy name for a fancy thylacine. Artem for short.

Oh my gosh she is wonderful and hefty and huggable!! I love her! She was already gorgeous, but I did touch up her eyeliner and nose shading a bit, and did a little extra snout shaving and mouth embroidery.

And she's got a real and accurate pouch which is excellent, I've never seen a pouch on a thylacine plush aside from my own (and I do understand why nobody wants to include it lol, but there should be more pouches! Nearly every kangaroo plushie gets to have one! Normalise the backwards pouch!). It just so happens that I made a little thylacine joey a while back that's been needing somewhere cosy to stay, and Artem's pouch is a perfect fit. It was meant to be!

I'm also especially delighted about her because... At some point in 2023 I actually sent a thylacine suggestion to Charlie Bears, since they've done other uncommon marsupials and extinct animals before... not saying she was my idea, but, teehee! Maybe I helped!

I've started an rehoming page on my website to find new homes for some of my plush collection! I love collecting plushies, but I have too many...

Some of these are "sought after", but I've tried to offer them at low/reasonable prices because I'd really like them to go to someone who wants them! Adopt over here!!
