You know what? I think we all need to start gatekeeping some townies and premades a little harder lmfao
#I know some of you will say I'm TAkiNg tHinGs tOo SeRIOuS!!! and LeT PeOPle PlaY HoW ThEY WaNT but idgaf!!!#I truly can't handle some of the 'makeovers' I see on here#'Makeovers' meaning just taking fat sims and making them skinny and/or lightening every POC's skin color. Bffr.#But I get AT LEAST one anon every other week berating me for having the AuDaCitY to 'change Erwin too much' by making him trans. The only knowledge some of you have about Native Americans is through#old ass children's books and poorly aged Disney movies...and it shows!! So many super harmful stereotypes everywhere!!!#Or let's talk about how some of ya'll will take a more butch or masc-presenting sim and ultra-feminize them every. single. time.#I HATE it. I hate it and I'm not sorry!!! It's just flat ass wrong and this is my 'nice' way of telling some of you.#I have the time today and I am going to bitch about this until I die#It's okay if I piss off the 'It's not that deep crowd' because it is that deep. I'm learning all the time!#But some of ya'll don't even try. It's not that hard to do a Google search or go to the library or just like... use critical thinking.#simblr#ts4

If you want to read comics and you want to test the waters:-
Yes, RCO and clones exist, everyone uses them, I do it weekly too for titles I cannot access any other way (The Warlord) but let me tell you, it’s not the only option, particularly if you want to read reasonably modern comics back issues rather than deliberately suppressed obscure stuff. Plus, don’t you want to look at comics without worrying about getting viruses?
Your Local Library: your library probably has comics as trade paperbacks, and inter library loan will have more. It’s not the most consistent way to find things, but you should definitely look them up, there’s probably something there you’d be interested in reading. Good for having multiple presses, and most take suggestions for their collections, which is a slow but free way to read titles with highly detailed art like Wonder Woman Historia in person.
Digital libraries: my local libraries have ComicsPlus subscriptions, which I can use for free. Now you won’t get DC or Marvel on them, but BOOM!, Dark Horse, Image, Oni Press, Papercutz? All options. A really helpful way to easily sample other presses.
Internet Archive Library: the IA is again going to have an eclectic collection and be difficult to search, but it’s there and it has a lot of stuff and you’re not going to be worrying about computer viruses.
DCUI: if you’re in US, UK, Canada, AU or NZ, you can get a DCUI account. There’s a free trial available of course, and if what you’re interested in trying was published more than 6 months ago, you don’t even need to shell out for Ultra. It costs me less than a Netflix subscription per month, even for Ultra. There’s also a small handful of comics you’ll be able to access for free without ANY subscription - essentially advertising for new runs etc.
MU: just like DCUI, only Marvel, and available more places. Also runs on a subscription model. MU also has the quirk that you can manage digital ownership of individual issues also through their app (if you buy Marvel floppies there is a mechanism to obtain a legal digital copy within ~6 months of the publication date)
Local Comics Shops: you can also…buy floppies and trade paperbacks for yourself. If you really love a story and it’s out in trade, I highly recommend buying it for yourself to have forever. It just sidesteps so many future problems. An LCS is also more likely to have a back catalogue of titles available - if you’re looking for a trade published 8 years ago, they might have it while an ordinary bookshop won’t. If you’re less certain, events like Free Comic Book Day and Batman Day are largely a marketing exercise more than new original material these days, but they’re also a good way to get to handle and own actual comic books if you’ve never done that before.
Other bookshops: if you don’t have a local bookshop with a specialist comics and manga collection (I do) it’s going to be a bit like trying to find comics at your local library: you’ll see lots of stuff with Batman and Joker in the title, and a random selection of anything else. Sometimes you can get surprisingly good deals from them as collectors are less likely to use them to get titles.
Overstock/Remainder Sellers: always worth a look, particularly if you’re trying to pick up titles printed several years ago. My local one has found some absolute gems for me, at a significant discount (I have picked up parts of Dixon’s Nightwing run, Bennett’s Batwoman run, Rowell’s Runaways, some Wonder Woman trades from Rucka and Perez, Gotham Central, I just managed to get the second n52 Blue Beetle trade…)
EBay/second hand shops/Abebooks/Biblio: a decent way to measure what the actual value of a comic title is on the second hand market. Sometimes you can find that the market value is far lower than you expected (Cassie’s Wonder Girl series is remarkably affordable). In other occasions you realise DC is leaving a LOT of money on the table by not reprinting (look up Red Robin trade prices and weep).
Friends: do you know anyone else who likes comics? They may already own stuff they can loan to you! (Once I lent out my Birds of Prey collection to a friend and he returned it with the first two n52 titles added. Still unsure if that was meant to be a kindness or just letting me store them)
#yes yo ho ho is an option#but there’s also multiple free legal methods#and paid legal options#and sometimes I feel people act like managing to get comics anywhere other than RCO is wildly difficult#it’s not! and depending on what you’re looking for it can be very affordable

what have you been watching/reading/listening to recently? i love your media opinions
I have terrible media opinions, but thank you for asking anyway!
WATCHING My latest fascination is with Netflix's 1670, a mockumentary comedy set in early modern Poland. There's something about a irreverent historical comedy that always finds me where I live---I loved season two of Miracle Workers for that exact reason, plus The Little Hours. Even The Court Jester, though that one is more just because I love Danny Kaye.
1670 is very funny, filmed Office-style with asides and pointed looks to the camera. Nobleman Jan Paweł is familiar, a trusty blend of ignorance, bluster, and unintentional comedy; rounding out the group is his ultra-devout wife, a lazy eldest son, his second son, a scheming priest who wants to climb the Catholic ranks and has a taste for torture, his over-educated over-liberal daughter, and a handful of locals---including Maciej, from Norway, who is apprenticed to the blacksmith on a study abroad program. There's a particularly good scene where his daughter starts crusading against climate change---but the people of the town stop listening when she announces it will happen in 480 years.
"Thirty years sounds more terrifying. We'd definitely do something then," one of them says, staring down the lens of the camera.
READING I think one of the strangest bits of growing older is the realization that the world is growing older with you. For example, I just read Mattie Lubchansky's Boys' Weekend, which is a charming, unsettling dystopian graphic novel in its own right---however, it also forcibly punted me back to about 10 years ago, when I loved Matt Bors and The Nib and was thrilled by the idea that the Sunday funny pages might give way for their 2.0 cousin.
That world has gone away, been eaten up---something the novel touches on, ironically. Still, it's surprisingly affective to think that Lubchansky and I have been moving forward all this time, each in our separate ways. That even now, a decade later, I can pick up a library book and know their lineart at a glance.
LISTENING Lately, I can't get enough of Larry & Joe---a fusion band, made up of a USian banjo picker and a Venezuelan master of musica llanera. Their music is a delight, and dovetails with some of my other favorites. (I do still listen to the album fusing Chinese folk music and Appalachian old-time, and I love that playlist of metal music from many cultures.) There's something that gets me about musicians swapping sounds this way---maybe because it's the same thing that created so many music genres in the first place. And if you've been following me long enough, you know I'm weak for a huge, weird, mess of people making noise.
#from the bookshelf#I also watched the entirety of Bob's Burgers while working on Christmas gifts#but I don't have more to say about that#other than I enjoyed myself immensely and it's a very fun show

Spooky Encounter || Kirishima x f!Reader
Summary: Kirishima and you made the decision to explore an eerie, abandoned mansion, well-known for its haunted reputation
Warnings: None
Word count: 1421
Author: Bear
Kirishima Eijiro, the tough and sturdy hero from Class 1-A at U.A. High School, had always been a guy who loved a good challenge. Kirishima and his girlfriend were eagerly anticipating Halloween. You decided to spend the evening exploring an abandoned mansion that had long been rumored to be haunted. The dilapidated structure was said to have a dark and eerie history, which made it the perfect setting for a spooky adventure. As the sun dipped below the horizon and the moon began to cast eerie shadows on the mansion, Kirishima and his girlfriend, Y/N, arrived at the foreboding place. You approached the decrepit entrance, vines and thorns curling around the wrought-iron gate. Kirishima, always the fearless one, flashed a grin and said, "Ready for a spooky adventure, Y/N?"
You nodded, your heart pounding with excitement and a hint of trepidation. The rusty gate creaked open, and you ventured into the dark property.
As they stepped through the gate, Kirishima couldn't help but notice how the wind seemed to whisper in eerie voices. The old mansion's windows were shattered, and the overgrown garden was filled with skeletal, leafless trees. Cobwebs adorned the dilapidated entrance, and the air was heavy with the scent of decay.
"Kirishima, this place is seriously creepy," you whispered, rubbing your shoulders. Kirishima, trying to appear brave, put his arm around you and reassured you, "Don't worry, I'm here to protect you, babe. It's all for fun. Plus Ultra, right?"
Inside, the atmosphere was even more foreboding. Cobwebs hung from the ceiling inside as well, and the wooden floorboards creaked beneath your feet. It was as if the house itself groaned in agony.
You led the way, a small flashlight guiding your path. The dim, flickering light created eerie shapes that seemed to come to life.
"Why did I agree to this?" Kirishima muttered under his breath. He couldn't help but grip his girlfriend's arm a little tighter.
The couple explored room after room, their hearts racing at every unexpected sound. It was in a dusty, cobweb-covered library that you made your first chilling discovery. A book lay open on a lectern, its pages filled with strange symbols.
You picked it up, your eyes alight with curiosity. "This is amazing!" you exclaimed. "I wonder what it says, I don't know ancient Japanese unfortunately..."
Kirishima, being a protective and loyal boyfriend, couldn't let you dive into the unknown alone. He scanned the pages, his crimson eyes catching a passage that sent a chill down his spine. "The souls of the damned haunt this place, seeking release. To banish them, one must sacrifice something of great value," Kirishima read aloud.
The words hung in the air, and the room suddenly felt colder. Your eyes widened, and you looked at Kirishima with a mixture of excitement and trepidation. "Do you think it's true?" you whispered.
Kirishima, although typically the fearless one, felt a lump in his throat. He was a hero who had faced villains, but this was something entirely different.
The realization that the abandoned mansion might hold something more than a simple spooky adventure began to sink in. Kirishima and you exchanged uneasy glances, their flashlights casting eerie shadows on the old library's walls.
"You don't think we stumbled upon something supernatural, do you?" you asked, your voice shaking slightly.
Kirishima took a deep breath and squared his shoulders, determined to protect his girlfriend. "I'm not sure, Y/N, but let's be cautious. If there's something here, we'll face it together."
With that resolve, you decided to continue your exploration of the mansion, keeping the mysterious book with you. As you ventured further into the dilapidated building, the air grew colder, and you could hear faint whispers again, like faint echoes from a distant time. The oppressive atmosphere weighed on you as you descended deeper into the darkness.
In one room, you discovered a dusty portrait hanging crookedly on the wall. It depicted a family from another era, their faces etched with sorrow. The longer Kirishima and you stared at it, the more you felt like the eyes in the painting were following your every move.
"We should get out of here," you suggested, unnerved by the strange sensation.
Kirishima nodded, but just as you turned to leave, the door slammed shut with a deafening, echoing thud. Panic surged through you both as you realized you were trapped. Kirishima tried to open the door but unfortunately, the doorknob stayed in his hand. "We need to find another way out," Kirishima said, his voice steady despite the mounting fear. He led you to other door in the room, and using them you went out on another long, narrow corridor.
You continued through the mansion, trying doors, but each one led to a new disturbing discovery. In one room, you found a collection of old dolls, their lifeless eyes staring blankly into the abyss. In another, you stumbled upon a room filled with forgotten letters, each one chronicling the tragic history of the mansion's former occupants.
As you explored deeper into the mansion, seeking the exit, the whispers grew louder, forming words that sounded like cries for help.
"Dark and cold...."
"Bastard!"
"No peace...."
Kirishima and you could feel a presence around you, a force that seemed to feed on your fear.
Your flashlight beams fell on a narrow staircase leading to the basement. Hesitant but driven by the need to escape, you descended into the darkness. The basement was even colder, and your breaths turned to mist in the air.
Suddenly, you came upon a room filled with chains and shackles, remnants of a dark history that sent shivers down your spines. In the center of the room, you found a peculiar-looking stone altar, and next to it, a small, ancient-looking box.
You reached for the box, your hand trembling. "This must be what the book was talking about. The sacrifice."
Before you could open the box, the room's temperature dropped drastically, and you heard a mournful wail, echoing through the basement. A spectral figure began to materialize in front of you, its presence dark and malevolent.
Panicking, Kirishima and you realized that, in some way, you had awakened something ancient and vengeful. The ghostly figure reached out toward you, and in that moment, Kirishima knew he had to act.
With a determined expression, Kirishima pushed you behind him, shielding you from the ghostly entity. "We can't let it consume us, Y/N. Whatever this thing is, it's our greatest challenge yet!!"
You nodded, your fear replaced by determination. You opened the box after some struggles, revealing an old, golden key inside. With it, you managed to unlock the shackles in the room, and as you did, the ghostly figure's form began to waver.
With a final, powerful blast of courage, you used the key to unbind the spirits trapped in the mansion, releasing them from their torment. As the ghostly figure dissipated into the shadows, leaving behind an eerie silence, a wave of relief washed over Kirishima and you. But at the same time, the adrenaline and fear that had been coursing through your veins caught up with you. Trembling, your shoulders slumped, and tears welled up in your eyes.
"It's okay, Y/N," he whispered, his voice filled with genuine concern. "You're safe now. I've got you, and we're getting out of here."
His soothing words and the strength of his hug began to calm your racing heart. You clung to him, allowing the fear and anxiety to ebb away as he held you close. In Kirishima's arms, you felt protected and loved, and that was all you needed at this moment of vulnerability.
As your sobs slowly subsided, Kirishima continued to hold you, his touch a source of strength and comfort. He didn't rush you or push you to speak; he simply held you close, allowing you the time to process the intense emotions. "Whatever it was, it's gone. Don't worry, babe."
The oppressive atmosphere began to lift, and the whispers faded away. The mansion, once so foreboding, seemed to sigh with relief.
Kirishima and you knew you had faced a truly supernatural challenge and come through it together. You exited the mansion, hand in hand, knowing that your bond had grown stronger through this spine-chilling Halloween adventure.
As you stepped out into the cool night, you couldn't help but share a relieved and affectionate smile. You might have uncovered a dark secret, but you had also proven that love and courage could conquer even the most haunted of places.

River Song’s Last Words
Cover artwork, cast and story details are today revealed for The Death and Life of River Song: Last Words, a brand-new box set of apocalyptic audio drama, due for release August 2024.
River Song may be the Doctor’s wife, but there’s so much more to her than that. Alex Kingston played the time-travelling archaeologist on Doctor Who between 2008 and 2015, and has reprised the role in many Big Finish audio dramas since, exploring what River gets up to when she’s not with her Time Lord husband.
The first box set in her new series, The Death and Life of River Song: Last Words sees River, after cheating death as a digital consciousness uploaded to the Library, brought back to life in a cloned body and sent to Earth in the future, not long before it’s set to be ravaged by solar flares.
Joining Kingston in this epic story’s cast is Greg Wise – who listeners may know from The Crown and Sense and Sensibility, as well as the 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing – as ultra-rich tycoon Garrison Clay. He’s the man behind River’s temporary resurrection, and he has a mission for her.
And, Jamie Parker – best known for playing Harry Potter in the West End show Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, as well as roles in TV series Treadstone and The Crown – plays Sam Avner, a mysterious man who becomes an ally to River.
The Death and Life of River Song: Last Words is now available for pre-order exclusively here, as a limited edition four-CD box set (plus digital download) for £29.99, or as a digital download only for £22.99.
Wrenched from her digital afterlife in the Library, River Song finds herself on sixty-first century Earth, resurrected in a clone body. Billionaire tech mogul Garrison Clay has a mystery to solve, and he’s selected River as the person to solve it.
Armed with only her sonic screwdriver and a fake ID, River heads out into a world soon to be ravaged by solar flares... where danger stalks her at every turn.
The story is divided into four episodes, or books, all scripted by Robert Valentine:
Book 1 – Apokalypsis
Book 2 – Fate & Fatality
Book 3 – The Black Hours
Book 4 – Book of the Dead
These four books together, as well as revealing an important chapter in River’s (after)life, serve as a prequel to the 1975 TV story The Ark in Space, with humanity preparing to flee the doomed Earth. Robert Whitelock guest stars as Lazar and Christine Kavanagh as Vira – characters originally played on television by Kenton Moore and Wendy Williams.
Also on the cast list of Last Words are Jane Booker, Shogo Miyakita, Jamie Zubairi, Jacob Daniels, Andrew James Spooner, Glen McCready, Issy Van Randwyck, and Nicholas Boulton.
Producer David Richardson said: “Robert Valentine has done something remarkable with this four-hour drama, which tells the story of the last days of planet Earth before it is destroyed by solar flares, a story told from the perspective of a woman temporarily brought back from the dead. It’s heart-breaking and exciting and doom-laden and, perhaps when you least expect it, uplifting and inspiring.”
Writer Robert Valentine added: “Originally, I thought I was going to be writing the final ever River Song story. Quickly I realised that I wasn’t, but I thought it would be fun to write something that feels like it’s the last we’ll ever see of River, and actually give that problem to her. Her life is usually intertwined with the Doctor’s, so I thought, what is her life like after her great relationship is over?
“And, the brief was to do a prequel to The Ark in Space, which is a Doctor Who classic, at the same time. When I went back and rewatched it, I realised that I wouldn't be allowed on this ship, I would have been one of the ones left behind. So I thought, let's give River a mission that leads into The Ark in Space, but with sympathy for those people who aren't on the Ark.”
Big Finish listeners can also pre-order a bundle with Last Words as well as Volumes 2 and 3 of The Death and Life of River Song, which are both due for release in 2025, for just £80 (collector’s edition CDs + downloads) or £66 (downloads only).
All the above prices include the special pre-order discount and are subject to change after general release. Please note: the collector’s edition CD box sets are strictly limited to 1,250 copies and will not be repressed.
Big Finish is currently operating a digital-first release schedule. The mail-out of collector’s edition CDs may be delayed due to factors beyond our control, but all purchases of this release unlock a digital copy that can be immediately downloaded or played on the Big Finish app from the release date.

Well, as long as we're rafting the temporal streams, might as well head back to Dormont. Got some errands to run in the past.
I'm like 98% sure you're trying to flirt with me but you're too nervous to actually go through with it. Would you please just finally ask me out so I can rock your evening?
Look, be glad I was tasteful enough not to go for the other pun.
My guy, what could possibly compel you to think I'm not comfortable with basic human conta--
...you know what, that's fair. I guess I do go out of my way to minimize any and all possible exposure of physical features, don't I?
Anyways, go on and get out of here while I chat with my Lemonfriend.
Oh, I've always liked you. I'm just also creeped out by you. Two things can be true.
...huh. If I can die here in Dormont, then... that does make things easier. I was planning on throwing myself on a Tear once we got into the House since you said I can loop forward as well as back, but dying here in town would save me some time.
Oh shit yes. I'd love the ability to call you and chat about what I'm seeing while the rest of the crew looks at me like I've lost my goddamn mind.
Especially since the ultra-secret fourth sign is making a phone shape out of your fingers and then talking on it. That's hilarious.
This.
This is it.
This is the key to killing myself in Dormont.
...
I should probably wait until I've finished up here.
OH
ISA
I didn't realize you come up here after we're done. I don't have anything else to talk about but it's great seeing you up here.
Didn't accomplish as much here as I expected to. But at least we can take another crack at that desk drawer.
Okay between this and the rock switch, I no longer have any confidence in my own ability to do my job. It's distressing that each setback thus far has been the fault of a bad d20 roll on the primary reason that I'm with this party.
Ha! Rock trap for the Rock key. I get it.
Really? They're frozen in time right now but I am looking for a book. You think they might have set it out for me in advance? That would be awfully nice of them.
Oh shit. There was a person in town who sometimes thinks they have a sister but can't recall where they moved to. That shit got super weird. This has to be related.
No idea how it's related to our current mission. But. It's gotta be related.
Always trust in the puns. The puns are life. The puns are the secret of the universe. Those who do not heed their wisdom face the ultimate punishment.
So the Rock Key was in a room guarded by a huge rock and the Paper Key is in the library. I am. Kind of. Terrified. Of where the inevitable Scissors Key will be found.
And one Star Crest. Well. *heavy sigh* Shit.
Gonna have to temporally save-scum this one.
Can't argue with that. Isa's my brofriend-maybe-more so his vote automatically weighs more than anyone else in this--
................
Fuck.
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck
Okay. It's okay. We can work this out mathematically.
Isa, as previously noted, is worth a million points because he's a precious slab of adorableness who flirts with me in the cutest ways imaginable and I'm super feeling it.
Mira, meanwhile, is worth half a million points because she's also awesome and cool and she's our wonderful team leader and I adore her.
Bonnie is worth infinity points because they are a child whose hopes and dreams we are responsible for and I don't want to let them down.
However, Odile is worth zero points because she's mean to me and sometimes makes me want to cry. I still haven't forgotten that crack, Odile. Even though you have because it was in another time loop.
If we add them together, then Team Beauty is worth a million and a half points, but Team Age is worth infinity points.
However my sign is Scissors, and the shape of Scissors forms a multiplication symbol, not a plus symbol. Which means that Team Beauty is actually worth 500,000,000,000 points while Team Age is worth 0 points.
Thus, the objective and entirely unbiased answer is that Team Beauty wins.
I'm sorry, Bonnie! But math never lies. We must go south. It is our destiny to go south.
I know you will. It is my destiny to have a future filled with spuds. I accept my fate, but I do not apologize.

Here's a remote 111 acre compound in the mountains of Simi Valley, California. Perfect for all your money laundering needs, or whatever else you're into. It has 5bds, 9ba, & is listed for $6.375M. Interestingly, it was listed for sale for $8.250M in 2015 & 2016, but taken off the market both times.
So, the place isn't selling and they're trying again, dropping the price drastically. Let's take a look, then maybe we can go over there and offer $299K. So, I guess this is a nice sitting room. Needs a little color, though.
Roomy, high ceilings, lots of natural light. Fireplace, balconies, lots of glass.
It will take a lot of furniture to fill this place. We can start with some colorful pieces.
Look at the size of that stove. It's bigger than my whole kitchen counter. This kitchen requires roller blades to get around.
Look at how far the stove is from the counter. Geez. You need binoculars to see it. Then, it looks like there's an outdoor kitchen, too, on the terrace to the left.
You can never have enough wine storage.
I could never understand why people put traditional furniture into ultra modern spaces.
Small den with a library ladder. Nice.
Wow, this is a serious elevator. It's commercial quality.
They're definitely running a business from here.
The main bd is large, but blah.
I thought that this was a walk-in closet, but it's the main en-suite bath.
This is the closet.
Nice stairs.
Family/game room with a little wet bar.
Guest room looks like a sanitarium.
Must-have exercise room, even if you don't use it.
3 car garage plus mad parking space.
View from one of the terraces.
Pool looks like it has some algae.
Lots of rocky terrain.
Plenty of outdoor space built around the home.
All lit up at night, it looks like a factory. Can you imagine the lighting bill for this place? Not even considering the air conditioning, it must be phenomenal.

Have you ever imagined a Pokemon Sun & Moon Lolirock AU where the Trial Captains are fugitive royals from planets conquered by Lusamine?
Interesting… I’m not too familiar with Lolirock, but I’ll try my best. (Apologies to any Lolirock fans for any inaccuracies/differences)
Acerola thought she was a mostly normal girl raised by her uncle Nanu, with the only notable thing about her being an uncanny ability to talk to ghosts. That is, until she was attacked by strange people on her way home from the library and was saved by six people her age wearing strange outfits and using powerful magic. They are:
Prince Ilima of Aurora
Princess Lana of Fontaine
Prince Kiawe of Ignis
Princess Mallow of Greenleaf
Prince Sophocles of Violight
Princess Mina of Sylvis
(Yes, I used the names of the kingdoms from Pokemon Conquest (I never played it but my sister loved it), plus a fanmade name for a hypothetical Fairy-type kingdom that I found on Google since it’s a Gen V game and Fairy-types didn’t exist yet)
They explain to Acerola that they are from an alliance of planets located in Ultra Space, and their kingdoms were attacked by Queen Lusamine of Nixtorm and her Aether Army. Not only that, but she is the lost princess of Spectra, one of the most powerful kingdoms in their galaxy. Her parents had Nanu (who is secretly a lord from the Yaksha kingdom) take baby Acerola to Earth to keep her safe before they seemingly died and Lusamine took over. Now Acerola has to master her powers with the help of the others in order to defeat Lusamine and save Ultra Space.

Stuff I've Had to Deal With as a City Librarian - Plus Ultra Edition
Been a while, huh? Have some public library nonsense!
TW for racism and bodily fluids.
Julie found a half-used tube of toothpaste in the computer lab. Just chilling by one of the computers.
Lori had to fish a pair of shitty underwear out of a toilet in the men's room.
We'd been trying to convince the children's librarian to stop using liquid glue for her various kids' craft projects or on the craft table. Two incidents finally lead to her doing this. First a lady put her purse on the craft table to tie her shoe. She set it directly in an enormous puddle of glue a kid had left behind. Then second was a kid getting glue on the bottom of his shoe after story time and tracking it everywhere. She's since switched to glue sticks and everyone is much happier.
When people lose books, they have to pay for them, and if they find the books, they can either bring them back to us (and get a refund if they bring them within a year) or keep them. A lady came in and said she lost some books and was ready for them. I check her card so I can see what she has and write them up, and she, totally unprompted says, "Yeah, I know where they are, they're just massively overdue and buying them outright would be cheaper than paying the fines." I told her she couldn't do that; if she still has the items and they aren't damaged, we would like to have our materials back so we don't have to spend any money getting replacements. She replies, "But why can't I just buy them?" It took every ounce of resistance in my body to tell her that we're not a bookstore, she has to bring the goddamn things back, that's how libraries work.
We caught a guy shaving in the lab. He didn't seem to find this strange at all, and when we asked why he didn't just go in the bathroom, he replied he didn't know he could do it there. And your first thought was not to ask, but to do it in our computer lab?!
One of my coworkers checked the cafe and found a guy sleeping. The city has been riding us not to let people do that, but we generally just kind of shake them a little, remind them they can't sleep there, then let them immediately go back to sleep when we walk away. We generally don't care. But when my coworker tried to stir this guy, he didn't move. Shook him by the shoulder. Nothing. Nearly shouted. Nary a stir. The way the dude is sitting makes it hard to see if he's breathing, so she starts to get concerned. She goes back to the desk and tells Julie what's going on; Julie tries to rouse him, doesn't succeed. They ended up having to call the police for a wellness check, because they were genuinely starting to get concerned for the guy's safety. The cop finally managed to wake him up, and it turns out the dude was fine. He's apparently just a very heavy sleeper.
We had a bad ice storm one day, so the library didn't open. Rachel checked the messages the next day when we reopened, and a woman called three times in a row to ask why we weren't open, she tried the doors and they didn't work, we're supposed to be open, why aren't we open, all with increasing frantic tone. In one call you could hear her yanking on the doors.
A patron parked outside called us and said that there was a woman in the parking lot writing down people's license plate numbers. Travis had to call the police (protocol for "suspicious behavior"). Turns out the police are well aware of this woman's antics all around town, to the point where it's a city effort to get her some help with what is clearly unchecked mental illness. A week later, the same woman got in trouble in the Walmart parking lot, doing the same nonsense, and calling the woman who caught her a human trafficker.
Someone opened and ate a can of chicken in the men's bathroom, though they couldn't have eaten much because most of it seemed to be on the floor. Poor Becky and Sam had to clean it up. The smell alone was horrible.
A man couldn't get into his gmail account, so I went over to help him. It turned out he had two-factor authentication set up, so it was trying to send a code to his phone. He refused to confirm his phone number because "I don't want these people tracking me". I had to fight the urge to laugh in his face, because he simply would not accept that he had to do that in order to get into his gmail, and the absolute irony of not wanting to be tracked while using motherfucking Google's email service.
A girl and her grandmother came in, and the girl forgot her library card. Grandma was fully prepared to check out the book she wanted...until she saw it was a book about Ted Bundy. She proceeded to go on a hellfire and brimstone rant about how the book was Satanic and she shouldn't have even touched it. She kept looking to my poor coworker for support her, and you could just tell that my coworker wanted to just fade away into the chair she was sitting in.
One night, I found an abandoned pair of shorts in the men's bathroom. Julie found a pair of sunglasses in the cafe, and Macey found a travel coffee mug (coffee still in it) in one of the study rooms. Tit's out kind of outfit.
A guy ate absolute shit on his motorized scooter on the sidewalk outside the library. Donna had to call 911, but the guy refused to go to the hospital because he couldn't afford it, no matter how worried the EMTs were about the bleeding gash on his forehead or the possibility of a concussion. Hope he'll be alright. And that's why we always wear our helmets, kids.
A woman came in at 8:47 (we close at 9) and had Rachel make 89 copies of her handwritten conspiracy theory journal. The lady had called in advance to check when we closed, and still came in that close to closing with her bullshit, and tried to stay after they were finished. Luckily, she was chased out.
Donna, Julie, and Rachel were leaving for the evening, and someone pulled up, opened their car door, yelled the n-word, and drove off. All three of those women are white as the driven snow.
The city sets up a ceramic Christmas village display in our rotunda area every year, and this year, Lori decided to have fun with it. She put a little plastic alien and dragon somewhere in the village, and anyone who found them got a sticker. Obviously, kids were really into it, but the adults were even more so. You've never seen so many people over forty excitedly looking for little plastic toys before.
A absolutely gorgeous woman in the most beautiful African dress came in and asked to use a computer. When I told her how to log on, she said "Thank you, my love." and floated off. Her perfume made me feel a way.

What does Banette think of the different ghost type specialists from each region? (Ryme, Agatha, allister, acerola, etc)
Depends the Banette! Here is my personal ghost specialist opinions though: Agatha is THE og ghost lady so gotta have respect for her, although as someone who is personally a huge pokedex enthusiast her dislike of them is ehh to me. Although to be fair, with Hisui showing written pokedex existed before her and she's just solely being bitter from Oak not battling her anymore adds interesting context.
Morty I also have respect for being the first ghost type gym! I like him more than Agatha because in Pokemon Masters EX he has a mega Banette so it shows he has very good taste in pokemon and his gym was just limited by there only being few ghost types in gen 2. His personal style though really throws me for a loop. Never understood why he always had that headband as i'd associate that more with fighting types. His gen 2 sprites and remake sprites give him great style, but his Stadium 2 and Anime looks... no. Come on, let him keep black shirt and the coolest scarf ever, there's no need to change that classic spooky vibe. Phoebe confused me as a kid because I expected her to be a water type trainer with her outfit looking like a hula danger, and didn't know of how she's more likely based on Polynesian/South East Asian spirit channelers or Shaman. The difference between what I expected from her and what her team ended up being though ended up being so freaking cool to me, just being so cheerful and fun-loving as one who ended up communing with ghost types compared to other channelers and ghost type trainers of previous generations was just so neat. Just getting to break from the stereotype, and I like that.
Fantina is okay, never really left a big impression on me. Like I just had Phoebe already break sterotypes so her being this glamourous contest girl just was okay? I get her hair is like the x mouth of a drifblim, but it just looks kind of silly to me. Plus her gym is just simple math questions, why? Like I get it's good to help educate kids and such but for a ghost type gym challenge it feels so random, that's the kind of thing i'd give to a normal gym or something maybe. I heard platinum's was better but since I've never gotten to experience it that's where my bias is coming from. She's had Banette in a few of her teams so I can respect that, and it's a very interesting choice how all of her pokemon are female no matter the team. Just a very feminine girl never stood out to me as a kid, someone who was very tomboyish.
Shauntal is so very cute, I love her! May have been a fictional crush for a while as a young teen. Besides the large black collar in her outfit, everything else about her is such good aesthetic to me! And she's literally a Ghost Writer, I love it so so much! Also another ghost girl using all female pokemon, very interesting. Plus the fact she's very much left handed is such a cool detail about her.
Acerola is adorable, just so sweet and playful. Loved how she helped Lillie in the games. And even though I prefer the original sun and moon to the ultra games I am glad the ultra games gave her banette. Also the Mimikyu asthetic in her looks is so peak. There isn't an outfit of hers that i've seen that I dislike, she's just so adorable. Would adopt her as my own child haha.
Speaking of children I would adopt in a heartbeat, there's Allister! I want to give him a hug, precious little thing. I actually got pokemon Shield specifically so I could battle and encounter him.
Last but not least Ryme is THE COOLEST. Like from her hair resembling a skeletal arm down to her cool shoes, she is such a boss! I wish we could actually hear her rapping in the games, her representing rap culture in such a cool way makes me very happy. And like in the academy's library, a book says that a childhood pokemon of hers passed away. She brought all her grief into a song which resulted in her pokemon being reborn as a ghost type, how freaking cool is that? Just the feeling of love and mourning being so powerful, resonates with me. Plus her doing double battles! And even starting with Banettes! Always gonna love and remember my banette vs hers in my playthrough, it was so cool.

Book 1 – Apokalypsis Book 2 – Fate & Fatality Book 3 – The Black Hours Book 4 – Book of the Dead

INFP 5w4: Personality Breakdown
The INFP 5w4 is a human dichotomy of scholar and dreamer that creates a fascinating, albeit slightly perplexing, personality cocktail.
They’re the kind who’d lose themselves in a hefty tome of ancient philosophy, and yet can also be found spinning intricate daydreams about rescuing dragons from vile knights.
This type is introspective, creative, and driven by a desire for knowledge on one hand, and a thirst for meaningful connection and self-expression on the other.
As an INFP – the “Mediator” in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator – they naturally gravitate towards idealism, creativity, and seeing the best in people.
But hold on, these people are not just about feelings and sunshine. We have a 5w4 in the Enneagram system skulking in the backdrop.
As a 5w4, they’re introspective, love to analyze (probably overanalyze), and have a keen quest for knowledge.
Mingle the INFP’s empathy with the 5w4’s introspection, and voila, you have the INFP 5w4: a Hogwarts Ravenclaw who has a secret stash of heartwarming Hallmark cards.
INFP 5w4 in a Nutshell
Strengths: Empathetic, Analytical, Creative.
Weaknesses: Overthinker, Isolated, Idealistic.
Soulmate: A person who can match their intellectual curiosity while giving them space and nurturing their sensitive side.
Guidance: Don’t forget to pop out of your introspective bubble and join the rest of us in the chaos occasionally. It’s quite fun, I promise.
What Is The INFP 5w4 Like?
You know how INFPs are, right?
The dreamy-eyed eccentrics of the MBTI world who’ve probably written five unpublished novels and have a weird obsession with collecting vintage teacups.
INFPs are introspective, creative, and have an uncanny knack for finding beauty in the bleak.
Now, over to the 5w4 Enneagram type. This is your quintessential “mad scientist” or the brooding poet in a dank attic.
Fives are intensely curious, forever diving into new hobbies – mostly of the nerdy variety – and they’re as private as a hermit crab.
The Four-wing adds a dash of creativity and a heaping spoonful of emotional intensity.
Now, mix the mystical INFP with the quirky 5w4 and you’ve got yourself an ethereal chimera – half dreamy idealist, half reclusive scholar.
An INFP 5w4 is like a fairy living in a library, fluttering between tomes of ancient wisdom and daydreaming about alternate universes.
They’re the ones you’ll find philosophizing at a party instead of playing beer pong.
They’re a pair of contradictory forces, yin and yang of introspection and creativity. Oh, and they’re probably still waiting for their Hogwarts letter.
What Are the Main Traits of the INFP 5w4 Personality?
INFP 5w4 Strengths
Ultra-Creative
Authentic
Abstract-Thinking
Empathetic
Idealistic
INFP 5w4 Struggles
Oversensitive
Can be Disorganized
Overthinking
Unrealistic
Reserved
As an INFP 5w4, you’re a walking talking creativity factory, and that’s fantastic because this world could really use a touch of color.
Plus, with your empathy level cranked up to 11, you’re practically an emotional GPS for your friends – you cry when they cry, and you laugh when they… well, stub their toe.
You’re as authentic as a Gucci purse in a Milanese boutique but your ideals are occasionally more suited to a Disney movie than real life.
And let’s not forget, you’re an introverted party animal who sometimes forgets that socializing doesn’t equal inviting five cats over for a Netflix binge.
Not to mention, your intricate mental world could really use a Marie Kondo session… or ten.
Your tendency to overthink can cause an existential crisis about what brand of cereal to buy and taking action is like running a marathon in flip flops.
So, while your strengths make you the empathetic, idealist, creative powerhouse that you are, your weaknesses can sometimes throw more spanners in the works than a clumsy mechanic.
But hey, nobody’s perfect – and if they were, I’d have nothing to write about.
What Sets INFP 5w4s Apart From Other INFP Types?
The Intellectual Lovechild of Isolation
INFP 5w4s are like the typical INFPs- except they’ve been spending a little too much time in the library.
They’re the nerds on steroids of the MBTI world, solving complex equations in their heads while passionately arguing about the emotional depth of a Nirvana song.
What a weird, thrilling combo, right?
This bunch is drawn towards knowledge and understanding that they are often lost in their little intellectual bubble.
Other INFP types? They’re busy frolicking through the fields of feelings, not as consumed by the endless pursuit of wisdom.
The Loner versus the Social Butterfly
Every INFP likes a bit of alone time, sure. But our INFP 5w4 pals take this whole idea of “me time” to a new level.
They’re the embodiment of “alone but not lonely.”
In fact, they often prefer solitude to social gatherings to recharge and ponder over life’s mysteries.
This differs from other INFPs who still enjoy the occasional boogie on the dance floor or a heart-to-heart with friends.
Your Personal Sherlock Holmes
INFP 5w4s have a unique knack for observation that would totally win them a round of “I spy with my little eye.”
They’re detail-oriented and have an uncanny ability to catch the nuances missed by other INFP types.
These guys could probably deduce your favorite childhood toy from a brief conversation.
It’s all fun and games until they start guessing your passwords.
Unlike other INFPs, who operate more on vibes and feelings, these detective-wannabes tend to base their analysis on the cold, hard facts.
What Are The Major Fears and Desires of the INFP 5w4?
Fears
Being overwhelmed by the world and its demands.
Being seen as incapable or incompetent.
Being too exposed or vulnerable.
Becoming useless, redundant, or irrelevant.
Losing their cherished independence.
Having their thoughts and feelings invalidated.
Being misunderstood or misinterpreted.
Desires
To possess a profound understanding of the world around them.
To be seen as insightful and capable.
To express their unique individuality without fear.
To create lasting, meaningful impact in their chosen arena.
To maintain their independence and personal autonomy.
To communicate their thoughts and feelings accurately.
To be fully understood and accepted.
Now for the juicy part. These fears and desires are like the rudder of the INFP 5w4’s ship, steering them through the stormy seas of life.
Their fear of becoming obsolete, for instance, might make them the Hermione Granger of their friend group, constantly hoarding knowledge like a dragon with gold.
On the flip side, their desire to express their unique individuality might make them the Picasso of their era, creating art that’s as eccentric as their Aunt Edna’s holiday fruitcake.
In essence, these fears and desires push our INFP 5w4 to seek out knowledge and understanding while maintaining their precious autonomy.
How Do I Know If I’m An INFP 5w4?
Here’s how to figure out if you’re an INFP 5w4 or if you’ve just been watching too many moody indie movies lately.
Questions to Ask Yourself
Do I daydream about saving the world, but get anxious at the thought of a group meeting?
If you’re an INFP 5w4, you’ve got big dreams and a little bit of social anxiety. You’re the superhero that’s just too introverted to leave the house.
Am I a philosopher in skinny jeans?
Deep thoughts? Check. Trendy outfits? Check. INFP 5w4s are like the existential hipsters of the personality world.
Do I love humanity but kind of hate people?
This might sound like a contradiction, but INFP 5w4s are the type to dream of world peace while having a ‘no visitors’ sign on their door.
Do I feel misunderstood or am I just listening to too much Billie Eilish?
INFP 5w4 types often feel misunderstood. Or maybe it’s just too many moody tunes.
Do I enjoy solitude or am I just allergic to drama?
For INFP 5w4s, a quiet night with a good book often trumps a night out on the town.
Key Signs and Behavior Patterns
Deep Diver
You’re not afraid to dive deep into your own emotions. You probably know yourself better than you know your Netflix password.
Solo Artist
You prefer a solo stakeout in the corner of a coffee shop rather than a buzzing social event. And let’s face it, your alone time is anything but lonely.
Creative Soul
You’ve got more creativity in your pinky finger than most people have in their whole body. You’re the Da Vinci of daydreams.
Sensitive Sage
Sure, you are sensitive, but also wise beyond your years. You’re like a fortune cookie wrapped in a wool knit sweater.
Idealistic Introvert
You have big dreams for a world you’d rather observe from a distance. You’re basically an introverted superhero.
Philosophy Fanatic
You could be fascinated by everything from Star Wars theories to the meaning of life. It’s all about the big picture for you, even if that picture includes lightsabers.
Drama-Dodger
Despite your emotional depth, you try to avoid drama like it’s the last slice of pizza at a party. You’ve got enough going on in your own head, thank you very much!
What’s The INFP 5w4 Man Like?
Daydreaming Dynamo
Hold on to your hats, because a male INFP 5w4 is about to take you on a 4D roller coaster ride through his imagination.
These guys are like the Lovechild of Picasso and Tolkien, with an imagination that’s so rich, it makes Warren Buffet blush.
They’re also world-class daydreamers, doing anything from fighting intergalactic wars to being the last human savior – all while waiting for their morning coffee to brew.
Emotionally Intense Introverts
Our INFP pals are like adorable little hermit crabs – they retreat into their shells at the slightest hint of conflict.
They’ve got emotions as profound as the Mariana Trench, and they feel everything intensely.
This emotional depth can make them seem a bit moody or aloof, but in reality, they’re just having a heart-to-heart chat with their own feelings.
Seekers of Significance
INFP 5w4 dudes are a bit like Indiana Jones on a relentless quest for significance in their lives.
They want to do something meaningful, not just pay the bills or master the art of microwave cooking.
Don’t be surprised if they change careers or hobbies more often than Taylor Swift drops a new album – they’re not flaky, they’re just constantly looking for their ‘grand purpose’ plot twist.
What’s The INFP 5w4 Woman Like?
The “Who, Me?” Complex
These ladies could seriously win an Oscar for their portrayal of “Innocent Bystander” in any conflict.
They’re peacemakers to the core, so if you ever find yourself in a squabble with an INFP 5w4, there’ll be more shoulder shrugs than at a chiropractic convention.
They’re as non-confrontational as a goldfish in a fishbowl.
Sensitive Nooks and Crannies
Picture an English muffin – they’re all soft with loads of warm, tender insides, right? That’s your INFP 5w4 gal.
They feel feelings on a level that Dante didn’t even get to in “Inferno”.
But hey, at least their emotional depth makes them a hit at poetry slams and indie music festivals.
Curious Cats
They love to learn, research, and probe the depths of whatever interests them.
Whether it’s the mating habits of snails or the life cycle of a star, you bet they’ll have a seven-book series ready to recommend.
They’re like the Hermione Granger of reality – but with less magic and more melancholy.
INFP 5w4s In Relationships & Compatibility
Dating an INFP 5w4? Sweet baby Jesus, you’re in for a ride.
This rare personality combo is an intriguing blend of introspective philosophers and passionate idealists.
Charmingly elusive, they have loads of deep thoughts, feelings, and wow, what a wall of solitude when they need alone time.
MBTI Matches
ENFJ: You know how magnets work, right? The strong, extroverted ENFJ blends beautifully with the introverted, dreamy INFP. Sparks fly, just like a Nicholas Sparks movie, but without the inevitable tragedy.
INFJ: Imagine two psychic unicorns reading each other’s minds. Yeah, that’s the INFP-INFJ combo. Lots of beautiful understandings and bonding over shared idealism.
ENFP: Pair the INFP 5w4 with the slightly more outgoing and extroverted ENFP, and you get “Party in the front, introspection in the back” – kind of a personality mullet.
Enneagram Matches
4w5: The INFP 5w4 and 4w5 are like two peas in a misunderstood, individualistic pod. They understand each other’s need for authenticity and solitude, basically the “you get me” kind of relationship.
9w1: This combo is like a hammock on a lazy afternoon, peaceful yet deeply meaningful. The 9w1’s calm demeanor beautifully balances the intensity of the INFP 5w4.
6w5: The 6w5 brings a level of loyalty and security that the INFP 5w4 deeply appreciates. It’s like having a home security system, but it understands your fears and validates your feelings.
Tips for Interacting with INFP 5w4s
Understand the Space-time Continuum: INFP 5w4s need their solitude like sourdough needs a good rise. Give them their space, and they’ll be all yours when they emerge from their introspective cocoon.
Dig Deep: Skip the weather chat – it’s the intellectual and emotional deep-sea diving they crave. Ask them about their dreams or favorite Russian novel, and boom! You’re on their favorite-people list.
Patience, Young Grasshopper: With an INFP 5w4, relationships are a slow dance, not a rave. Give it time. Remember slow burns create the most enduring heat. It’s like making a good Bolognese.

WARHAMMER 40K CHAOS GATE DAEMONHUNTERS
