Been thinking about idw1's outliers lately, and how sort of wild the whole concept is from a worldbuilding standpoint, and it struck me that most confirmed outlier abilities tend to be really useful, or flashy, or powerfully dangerous, and few to none tend to be like, really boring, or totally impractical, or even entirely useless? Which, doesn't really make sense when considering the fact that outlier abilities are seemingly random.

Surely not everyone who's born an outlier gets something useful?

And I don't mean like, "good" useful, but any sort of useful, even if that means you can kill people with your voice, or give a power boost by exploding yourself, those are still "useful".

But surely there had to be some with abilities that were totally impractical, or nonbeneficial, or at the very least just insignificant or purely aesthetic and pointless?

More sketchy employee profile images. Mostly made to be able to replace the picrew I had in the template I made since I can draw. I did end up just putting it as back and white though but the color is just nice to have. I'm STILL trying to tweak the template since it is very finicky and there is an example of what it looks down below if you're interested. It is a lot. It will happen. I am just not the quickest

genuinely surprised that the achievement for controlling the brain for bhaal is only 2.9%. like it's something you have to dedicate your whole playthrough to, sure, but 5.1% of people have beat the game in tactician

also 7% of people have become the slayer, which is an interesting comparison. to be fair, you can get that achievement reasonably early in act 2, but less than half of people have gone through with it to the end

hm. actually, 40.3% of players have finished act 2 and 22.8% have finished the game, so......... i guess that kinda checks out for a proportion of people rejecting bhaal sometime during act 3 after becoming the slayer. but id assume that someone who becomes the slayer is more likely to finish the game than the half-ish people in those percentages. durge probably isnt most peoples first game

wait, 2.2% of players have beat honour mode (the least completed achievement). that's nearly 10% of people who've finished the game, which is more than i expected, wow! but also not actually that much less than embracing bhaal

got sidetracked looking through achievements, anyway, i just like the wording of the bhaal one: sins of the father - claim your throne of blood: take control of the netherbrain for bhaal and break the world

this whole playthrough ive been sitting here like damn i cant wait to break the world. and that's really an apt description of what i did. and apparently i really enjoyed it, too

New EoW Trailer Thoughts!

- mentioned this in another post, but outfits!! Very excited for the outfits, character customization automatically makes it a 10/10 game 👍

- there are what appears to be wanted posters of Zelda, which are quite interesting, although a Goron is seen calling Zelda by name, so i wonder if she just isnt being careful about it or anything

- I loved getting to see the homes and areas of the different races! They are all quite pretty, and it was cool to see Gorons and different Deku Scrub appearances

- Also its just nice to see several different towns, as some top down/2d zeldas have had very few towns within them

- its cool to see the game have proper sidequests! Seems like this is a pretty sizeable game..

- the horse is cool!

- the rifts continue to be very cool and intriguing..

- while the Bind mechanic is cool, i have the feeling that it wont be something i use much unless forced to... my brain gets easily overwhelmed by so many ways to do things

- continuing my last point, thats my biggest (personal) issue w/ modern zelda and the focus on freedom. It just doesnt quite fit my gaming/thinking style?? Like i just recently borrowed a sib's copy of the Link's Awakening remake and dang, i miss old Zelda and its lack of freedom oddly enough 😅

There's no feeling stranger than knowing that something is bad but liking it anyways. Not in a 'it's so bad it's good' way. Because that implies that it has become good. I'm talking like this thing is just kinda bad in the normal ways things are bad, but i like it anyways.
