I have ambiguous feelings towards season three being the last one. At the same time that I think it’s best to end the series when it is at it’s high. (I grown up watching things like glee and pll, the writers NEED to know when to end!).
I think season three won’t devote any screentime plot to focus on simon’s parents, and I was so looking forward to getting to understand this plot line better. When did Linda went to Sweden? What’s the connection between Micke and music? How did that affect Simon? How did Linda and Micke met?
I know any of those things are actually relevant to the current storyline, but Simon’s background is written so brilliantly that I can help but crave for more of it
Yr was never meant to be a forever show. 3 seasons is enough.
I hope the erikssons will be a main plot in season 3, and they can be if Lisa choose to. I’m not particularly interested in the background stories you describe, but I want to dive into their conflicts and traumas. So many unanswered questions.

you know what they say about hope.
best of spencer hastings from pll ( 2010 - 2017 ) sentence starters !
Tumblr media
christine sinks back into the couch with a huff, light eyes drawn to padme. for once, there are no witty words dancing at her lips, not even a hint of a smile softening her features, exhaustion plaguing her mind and body, unanswered questions weighing her down until she feels like she could disappear into the cushion.
this is what they say about hope: death, is just another word for the absence of hope.
❛⠀ ⠀don't give up just yet. one of us needs to get through the night, and, ⠀ ❜ ⠀ she starts, making a sucking sound with her teeth, ⠀ ⠀❛⠀ ⠀it's not gonna be me. ⠀ ❜

Why Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin (spin-off) Is A Bad Idea
Tumblr media
Wanted to make a post on this for awhile and more people need to talk about how bad of an idea this is. First of all, we all know this just a cash grab by milking the PLL name. It hasn’t even been 2 years since PLL’s last spin-off The Perfectionists aired. Hopefully we can all agree that leaving the franchise alone for a few years would be best, don’t you think so?
Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre Sacasa will be the one to lead this circus into a possible downfall. Now say whatever you want about this not being disrespectful to Marlene etc but it IS. It’s disrespectful to the PLL legacy as well. And quite frankly, it’s disrespectful to Sara Shepard too because this new show won’t be following the books whatsoever. I don’t think nobody who didn’t have a part in creating this universe should have a part in a spin-off just because they have an obsession with the show. I don’t have any faith in this being good after what Roberto has done with his shows. Specifically Riverdale. Every thing that he has written turned corny. And he’s quite petty as well:
Tumblr media
I’ve noticed that the they’re trying to connect with the original PLL fan base as well and they’re failing as they do that. Just by using teenagers again, “It’s not what you think bitches -A”, Millwood sounding like Rosewood etc. It’s just a cheap effort. The Perfectionists fans weren’t even able to GRIEVE since it hasn’t been long since it was cancelled. They basically received a slap in the face. This also kind of ruins any chance of us getting a revival with the OG cast because let’s face it, they’re not going to want to do one with original sin on air run by a different showrunner plus all of the cast unfollowing the official PLL page after that announcement basically tells you they’re not for it lol.
I think it’s disgusting how they literally went behind Marlene’s back with doing this considering she had no knowledge of the situation and was pretty upset just by her tweets. Every one is right about how she didn’t “create” this PLL world and that it was Sara Shepard, but Sara had no part in creating the PLL universe as a series. Which is what Roberto (without any knowledge) is taking over. She was not being unprofessional either. Now I know she can’t legally take part in it considering her contract with 20th Century Fox, but it’s nasty how they can go and do that and not give her a heads up and just letting her hope for a season 2 for the perfectionists when Warner Bros knew that it was never happening while this was probably in the works.
Which is also probably the reason why Freeform cancelled The Perfectionists. Clearly this show has been in the works probably for awhile maybe a year while The Perfectionists was airing. There would be no other reason as to why it was cancelled. Low ratings don’t count considering every Freeform show had about the same. But even with The Perfectionists, the fans didn’t care for the newbies minus Alison and Mona being in it. But even that wasn’t enough. So why do these people think a whole new cast is going to reel back in the fans? Every one wants the original cast back and that’s just a fact. Clearly not for another few years though.
From the plot they gave, it sounds like a Riverdale plot to me and honestly is not appealing. Teen girls getting harassed because of the sins their parents committed? Come on now.
WHY is Pretty Little Liars even in the name???? It should be a separate show considering it’s a new cast and story. how do they plan on making it apart of the universe??? Mentioning what happened in Rosewood? How far into the future will this take place in? It’s just so fucking random and has nothing to do with PLL.
This franchise unfortunately already has two unsuccessful spin-offs. It needs to be put to rest for now. There’s a 50/50 chance with how this new spin-off will go because it is on a streaming service ran by HBO. So I guess you can expect quality and it has a higher chance of it having more views than how it would be on cable. But that doesn’t necessarily mean the writing will be good. I mean I guess we’re going to have to wait and see how this turns out because they didn’t give much to judge off on.

Here's my questions about the finale (we all have literally 1000 other questions that weren't answered in this show, so I'm focusing on mine for the finale). Feel free to chime in! Why did Alex kidnap and want to kill Ezra? What was the point? HOW TF are Mary Drake (who literally eacaped prison) and Alex out of prison and in France?? Don't say "she's Mona" like no. How are they out lol WHY was Mary Drake out? She ended up being slightly good in the end. Why did Mona take her too? What is the timeline of the Charlotte/Archer/Wren/Alex thing? Because if this took place in season 5 then oh my god is this the biggest plothole of all time. Charlotte made that big deal in 6x10 about Alison being her sister but she would have known Spencer was her sister and Jessica wasn't her mother. PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS.

PLL Original Sin - Season 1 Questions
Spoilers under the cut
ANSWERED Questions
Who is "A"? -> ANSWER: Principal Clanton & Archie Waters (Angela's Twin Brother)
Who Raped Angela Waters? -> ANSWER: Sheriff Tom Beasley.
Do the Liars’ Moms have more to do with those events then previously implied? -> ANSWER: YES. Angela told them that Tom Beasley had raped her, and they chose to not only dismiss her claims but completely ice her out and pretend she didn’t exist.
Was Davie Adams murdered or did she kill herself? -> ANSWER: According to Principal Clanton, Davie Adams killed herself – or at the very least, her death supposedly had nothing to do with them.
Why Did "A" Kill Karen? -> ANSWER: Revenge against Sheriff Beasley for raping Angela Waters back in 1999, that led to her suicide.
Is Kelly really Karen? -> ANSWER: No. Kelly is Kelly.
Who Assaulted Imogen the Night of Karen's Party? -> ANSWER: Chip.
Who Assaulted Tabby the Night of the Summer Party? -> ANSWER: Chip.
What is Mouse's "childhood trauma" that scares her moms so much? -> ANSWER: When she was 5 years old, her - unbeknownst to her - biological father made contact at a carnival, however her mother made her believe she was almost abducted.
Who is Mouse's Biological Dad? -> ANSWER: A man currently completely unrelated to the plot named Aaron Stevens.
Where is Rose Waters? -> ANSWER: She is dead. Her body has been moved to an unknown location after Imogen first found it at the old Waters’ house.
UNANSWERED Questions
Why was Angela Waters calling for “help” on the night of December 31st, 1999?
Why was Angela Waters covered in scrapes and what looks like blood on the night of December 31st, 1999?
What is the state of Imogen’s house? Girl has been spending the money she made at her Halloween party to start an investigation service, not make loan payments.
Where is Imogen’s underwear from the night she was assaulted? (I only ask this because in the OG PLL this would somehow become important 6 seasons down the road)
Why is Mouse’s birthday so different in the intro?
Who is Noa’s father? Where is he?
Who is Tabby’s father? Where is he?
Was “MM” really the one who attacked Kelly in the auditorium?
Why did “MM” kill Tyler?
Where is Tyler’s body?
Where is the janitor’s body?
To what extent was Crazy Joe apart of the “A” plan?
Did Crazy Joe really kill himself or was he murdered? If he did kill himself, why?
Where is Rose Waters’ body now?
Was that strange lady in Imogen’s flashback on Thanksgiving at the shelter really Rose Waters?
Who did the skeleton in the cage at the Waters’ home belong to?
How did “A” know that the person who tried to take Mouse in 2012 wasn’t a stranger?
In fact, how did “A” do any of their high-tech stuff?
Was Archie (“MM”) kept in a cage as a child (and that’s why there were crowns in the cage) or was that for a different kid)?
Principal Clanton says that when his family discovered that Rose Waters was pregnant, they “paid [the Waters family] off to move to another town, never to return”. Where did they move to?
What exactly was Principal Clanton’s plan? He kept talking about a “sacrifice” and it was sounding very Heathers, but never actually explained anything to the audience.
What is Archie’s plan now that he’s free?
Is Chip dead?

this has already been said but - going off your true crime post, i think this is why laura palmer from twin peaks (specifically from fire walk with me and revival imo) is such a good representation of a “true crime”. like laura’s death and abuse ultimately “meant” nothing and had no answer, it happened & abuse continues to happen. (re: the giant “it is happening again” dream). i feel like if true crime fans actually sat w/ the true horror of the crimes they would consume content more ethically
twin peaks also did a very good job of showing how laura's death impacted the entire town, how damaging the false leads and uninformed accusations were, and how solving the case didn't magically make everything okay. there was no logic behind it, nothing more laura could have done, and it was the knowledge that so many questions would forever remain unanswered that made the conclusion of the mystery so bittersweet. we know who killed laura palmer, but it won't bring her back, it won't change what happened, it won't give everyone the ability to suddenly move on.
and above all else, i feel as if twin peaks made it very clear that it was so terribly heartbreaking that laura's death eclipsed everything she did in life. her bravery and her intelligence and her humour and her complicated but loving relationships with people around her all became secondary to the fact she was murdered. twin peaks turned laura into a myth, and acknowledged that that was a tragedy within itself. laura palmer the mystery would go on to overshadow laura palmer the girl.
i think that's why shows like pll and character like alison dilaurentis just felt like empty replicas of twin peaks and laura palmer. bringing alison back and adding mystery upon mystery to the show felt like a cop out, an attempt to explain every loose end deliver something happy.
like...at the end of the day, there isn't always a big mystery or a grand reasoning or an answer to every loose end. sometimes a tragedy is just a tragedy, and trying to turn a tragedy into a story while completely severing it from the brutal reality and heartbreaking loss, just feels like rubbing salt in the wound.

My Burning PLL Questions
I’m gonna list out all the questions I want answered - or answered better (more completely than they have been already) in the finale or by the story the finale tells us. There’s so much we’ll likely never get answers for, but I’m gonna list ‘em anyways. This is largely for me...but eh I’ll share it anyways. If we’re lucky, I’ll be able to answer them during the finale...or by simply remembering the answer - It’s likely I’ve forgotten some answers by now anyways.
I’ll add to this over the next day or so - right up until the finale. I hope that I don’t have to add more after =/
I think anything left unanswered - or seemingly unanswered - I’ll try and answer. A whole rewatch will probably be needed after TuesdAy anyways....
These are in no particular order, but it does seem to start out with the older questions first. This isn’t a comprehensive list - just the stuff I want to know or haven’t pieced together on my own. Feel free to send me more!
1. When Mona was A...was she truly the only A? Or was there always a “Big A” kicking around?
2. Why did Jenna seem to know Alison before even moving to Rosewood? She knew who she was in the costume shop...and at the memorial or whatever, Jenna said that “her whole life” she thought she knew Alison. That always seemed odd to me.
3. Who killed Garret Reynolds? I feel like it was probably Wilden. Then Melissa and Jason were meant to dispose of the body on the train - not knowing Aria was in there too. That’s why Jason had the hip wound.
4. Garret said medical records don’t lie...which records did he refer to? Was it to do with Melissa not being pregnant? Alison not being dead? Jenna not being blind? Spencer being adopted? We’ve never had a clear answer on this so we don’t really know how much Garret knew.
5. Was it actually Cece (Charles?) that drugged Emily at the start of the third season? This has never been revealed.
6. While Emily was drugged, she was found by Jenna and Noel. We get a hint later that they had some connection to Cece that night as well (the game of truth in Noel’s place). We found out this season that Noel and Jenna were working with Charlotte....so what were they up to that night? Was it actually them that drugged Emily and they weren’t so “lucky” finding Emily that night?
7. There was a short scene where Mona in her black hoodie was tailing Byron from his office at Hollis..but we never find out why she’s tailing him.
8. The whole Beach Hottie vs. Board Shorts debate needs to be settled. I’m still convinced it’s two different people. There’s several reasons, but mostly how Alison reacted to each of them. She was afraid of one but intrigued by the other. Was Wilden Hottie while Board Shorts is Ezra (Ezra being all but confirmed) ? There’s some hints to Wilden for sure - and he would definitely be enough to scare Alison if she thought she was pregnant. It would have been statutory rape...And I know it wasn’t real, but we do see Wilden in bed with Ali (it’s Dunhill in a mask..but hey, symbolism!).
9. Who did Alison fear had gotten her pregnant. I’m inclined to believe both Ian and Ezra that they never slept together, so who was she sleeping with? According to Mona, Alison wasn’t pregnant in the end, but she was damn sure she was... I’m putting my money on Wilden.
10. Once upon a time, when we were super suspicious of Jason, he was hiding someone in his house. We never found out who that was. I almost wonder, now, if it was Mary Drake? But who else could it be?
11. Around that time, they showed a dog sniffing around the house and A petting the dog. That was never explained either. Neither was the bloody tissues that Jason had...
12. We saw A rifle through a bag and pull out a bottle of pills that belonged to  Maya,..but we never found out why? Especially since, according to the writers and all, Maya had NOTHING to do with A and was already dead at this point?
13. I’m still not convinced the story we were told about Maya’s death is true...but I suppose we’ll have to live with it. Bah.
14. What the hell did the NAT club have to do with anything? Was it just a really intricate red herring? Really? I find that hard to believe...
15. It seems clear that the Hastings/DiLaurentis feud is about more than just Jason, so what started it all?
16. Also, why did Mary seem the Hastings as someone who also needed to be punished?
17. Who is the father of the Emison baby? This I assume we actually will find out. Wren? Please don’t be Charles...
18. Why the hell was Sarah Harvey working for Charlotte?
19. Why was Sydney involved with this all?
20. Mona, in the woods at a picnic table, met up with Jenna and Sydney...and someone else. Who?
21. Did Mary really have more than two children? It seems that she did, based on lines delivered earlier in the season (Dr. Cochrane), but why wouldn’t she share that with Spencer now?
22. Why would Archer Dunhill shack up with Alison BEFORE Charlotte was killed...if we’re supposed to believe that his motive to torture Alison was because of Charlotte’s death? That doesn’t add up at all. Unless shacking up with Alison was the only way to get Charlotte back in on the family business?
23. Why would Archer Dunhill pretend to be Dr. Elliot Rollins in the first place? Something about getting close to Charlotte...so are we to assume that he knew her before this? I actually think this is exactly what happened. He knew her before she was discovered as A.
24. It is said that Cece taught Alison how to be..well...Alison (the Queen B we knew). But then Charlotte says that she was doing her best Ali impression - and evidently Alison was like that before Cece taught her..soo...what?
25. How could Cece have pretended to be Alison to be admitted to Radley IF SHE WAS ALREADY IN RADLEY!? We see in a flashback that Jessica was enraged by this little game...but if Cece (Charlotte) was a patient already, how could that have worked out?
26. This is super out of order here but...why was Alison crying when she left her house and went to the Hastings while Jason had a party (The scene where she goes “your family has the worst apples”)
27. Just...everything ever concerning Wren. I have questions upon questions. Why go after the 16 year old sister? Why continue to go after her? Why always show up with Spencer is upset? Why did his name have quotes around it on the police murder board? Why did Mona stop trusting him? Who did he call to “take care of their end?” Why colour that jacket in red? Why get a visitor pass for Cece Drake when she was a patient still? Why lie and say Melissa convinced him to let her in? What was he and Spencer arguing about in the airport? The questions are RELENTLESS.
28. Alison wanted masks made of her for her friends...A has them but the four girls don’t. What happened there?
29. Who was wearing the Emily mask?
30. So Jenna was scared of Cece Drake (as told by Shana) but totally okay working for/with her?
31. Who attacked Alison in “The First Halloween” !? It supposedly wasn’t Noel. I have a feeling this may have been Lucas? Maybe he was encouraged by his friend Charles to protect himself like Arcturus would. The comment of “Bitch” later may have been trying to spook her further?
32. The night Ali disappeared has had the timeline messed up a couple of times with different tellings of where Cece was during it. If the story we were told by Charlotte is to be believed, then she showed up at the end of the night and hit Alison by mistake...but before it was mentioned that she was speaking with Melissa Hastings. Jason’s eyes can’t be trusted, but who did he see Melissa talking to? Was it just Alison after all? Or maybe she was arguing with Bethany?
33. What was up with that meeting Melissa had with a hoodie in the backyard? Spencer read her lips as saying “do it” or something?
34. Why make Lesli Stone so suspicious? All the fake glasses and shit...
35. Why did the people at the Kahn party remember Cece? Noel’s brother knew her well apparently...but how? She was in Radley all that time and somehow I doubt she escaped that often?
36. Which reminds me. Cece said that Mona knew how to help her escape Radley. Mona says that she made a deal with the devil and she gave her ways in and out of Radley. Which is true?
37. Was it Charlotte that tried to kill Jenna in the DiLaurentis house?
38. Was Sarah Harvey a prisoner in the Dollhouse all those years and THEN signed up to help Charlotte? Otherwise, how had she been hiding for so long?
39. Early on we were told that A was a man and a woman with dark hair that wanted to hurt Alison? What? Was that actually Mona and Lucas? Still confused about that clue.
40. What did Maya want to show Emily the night she was killed? They found a note but that’s all that was mentioned of it...

Questions
Where is Eddie Lamb? Why did he recognize Aria? How did Wren date Melissa in season 5 or 6 or whatever when he apparently was with Twincer? Who attacked Ali on Halloween in "The first secret" if it wasn't Noel? Why did Noel push that girl, he had zero motive... Why was there a Radley car outside in "The first secret?" Who was watching the girls? Why was their a suit in the creepy house where Ali was attacked? What was the point of AD giving Jenna the "Endgame" book? What was the point of the comic? What was the point of Spaleb? Why did Alex steal Em's eggs and make Ali pregnant and used Wren's sperm? Did Alex kill Yvonne? How did Alex get Mary out of jail? Why did she kidnap Ezra? Did she want Aria to herself or what? Why is Alex obsessed with Ali's yellow top and "that night?" Why is she obsessed with Aria's pink hair? Again, does she have the hots for Aria? She did say Aria looked good in uniform. What's the point of 214? It's a number that only connects to Spoby and Ezra. What was the point of all the literary clues? Why did Spencer say "You're dead to me already" to Alison. Why did CeCe have a visitors pass? Why did Melissa say she has been protecting Spencer since it started? Who was Melissa talking to that night if it wasn't CeCe? If it was Bethany, then how does Melissa know her? Why were there three girls in a yellow top that night? What was the point of Sara Harvey???? How is Sara Harvey (black widow) pll endgame??? Why was CeCe dressed as a man in the dollhouse? Or was this Alex? Or Noel? Why would any of these three want to be prom king to Alison??? Why was Noel even helping with the dollhouse? Who built the dollhouse? Who built the board game? Who built the underground bunker system for Alex? Does Peter know about Alex? Does Veronica know? See how you rushed the finale, Marlene? I don't even know if Spencer's parents know anything... Why didn't you reveal Alex at the beginning of season 7 and let Spencer and the girls slowly figure this out like you did when you revealed Ezra? There are prolly 124994.291343 more questions. Feel free to add yours.

It’s a giant mess
Okay so let me get this straight: Mona was the original -A (season 1 - 3). Lucas and Melissa helped her (not by choice, they were blackmailed).
Then Cece Drake (aka Charles aka Charlotte) became the second -A who stole the game from Mona. Sarah Harvey, Mona, Noel, Lucas and Darren helped.
Then (season  6B and 7), Alex Drake (aka Spencer’s twin sister) became A.D. She was helped by Mary Drake, Wren, Jenna, Sydney Mona, and even Aria.

Top 5 Questions You Want Answered
Other than the obvious- the who and the why. For me... 1. Who is the father of Alison's baby 2. Who is Bethany, how does she fit into this, why was she calling Jessica "Aunt Jess"? 3. Was it Charlotte in the Dollhouse? 4. How did the NAT club fit into all of this? 5. I want names of everyone on the A team, along with reason why: blackmailed, hatred of girls, etc.
