How it started, versus how's it going.

Happy Sonic 3 release day. Have my forever evolving OC I had since I was, like, 10. You'll never guess who she is based off of because I was (still am) obsessed with Shadow and Maria.

Dramatic retelling of her lore below

A timeline set between SA2 and ShtH, the Commander is fueled by revenge and the paranoia created by the destruction of Shadow's crusade after his 50 year slumber. Due to G.U.N.'s lack of preparedness, the Commander's pet project began, modeled after the Ultimate Lifeform Project. This one hobbled together by the late Gerald Robotnik's notes and lab scraps. This creation was to be a weapon solely controlled by G.U.N. to overthrow a threat such as Shadow, and to be a superior lifeform. Moreso further inspired by the Commander's trauma, the project dubbed "the Superior Lifeform" was made in Maria Robotnik's likeness. Although hopes are high, the Commander's own ego and faith within G.U.N. is overstated because without the same formulas the Doctor used, and the lack of nurture to grow her skills, she could never truly be superior to Shadow.

Maria is lead to believe she is a mobian with amnesia indebted to G.U.N. as a special agent. She is dedicated and steadfast in her work, however without G.U.N., she feels she is lost, purposeless, and craves to be something more and to learn who she can be.

When a new terror faces the country, she is determined to take it down and protect civilians, leading Maria to break command and go AWOL. Although only successful in scaring it off for now, she realizes she has more strength and power than she ever imagined. Thereafter, she is court-martialed and incarcerated by G.U.N. military police.

Broken out by a mysterious bat and hedgehog, she is taken in under their wing. Despite being afraid of what this means for Maria's future, she is determined to take down this new threat without G.U.N.'s overbearing control, and practically embraces her fugitive status. This time is taken to hone her skills and uncover what she has been missing, and maybe learn to have a little fun along the way.

This black hedgehog seems so familiar to her, but also feels so incredibly dangerous. Walking the fine line between enjoying her new allies and the growing pit of distrust in her gut, she learns her true purpose is to destroy this very hedgehog who took her in.

Who does she believe when all she has ever known was G.U.N.? How could she possibly take down a creature so powerful, yet seems moreso like home than G.U.N. ever has? She refuses to do the Commander's bidding ever again, but the Commander knows what she is made of, and knows she never really had a choice in the matter.

Y'all I know that when so-called AI generates ridiculous results it's hilarious and I find it as funny as the next guy but I NEED y'all to remember that every single time an AI answer is generated it uses 5x as much energy as a conventional websearch and burns through 10 ml of water. FOR EVERY ANSWER. Each big llm is equal to 300,000 kiligrams of carbon dioxide emissions.

LLMs are killing the environment, and when we generate answers for the lolz we're still contributing to it.

Despite that, in his own way, he’s as gentle as can be with his league. Give me a young Diana who’s getting spat on and ripped apart by the media in a way not one of her male teammates get.

And she’s Wonder Woman. She shouldn’t be affected by it. And she is, anyway. Bruce relates to that in an uncomfortable degree.

He has a tiny Robin he occasionally has to keep on a leash.

Give me somewhat teen mom Bruce who struggles to wrangle his unruly six year old who likes flipping from rooftop to rooftop and thinks fighting Bane is a piece of cake.

“Dick,” he paused, before handing him a handfull of candy. “Wonderful emotional manipulation. Good job.”

What we need to do is convince all the disney adults in america that high speed rail would be a preferable way of getting to disneyworld compared to driving or flying. We could maybe harness their fondness for the monorail or something, but this is a group of people that has time, income, and passion that we could leverage. If we could direct 5% of the enthusiasm they have for limited edition popcorn buckets into calling their representatives and demanding high-speed interstate rail, we could get it by 2030

regarding that recent discourse on tw*ter of if andrew would like aaron's kids or not: im not listening to any of you. neil josten literally sent me these pictures himself 🧡

Something I think about a lot is how Rick Riordan very rarely uses "girlfriend/boyfriend" to refer to Percy and Annabeth within their perspectives. They're so intertwined, even Annabeth says in hoh that the word boyfriend isn't strong enough, because Percy was a part of her. They are a singular soul, too wrapped around each others' fates that regular labels are far too weak for them. But, Rick Riordan uses "boyfriend" a lot in Nico and Wills perspectives, not because they love each other less than percabeth, but to show how much the word means to them. Nico uses it any chance he gets- "his boyfriend," "he actually had a boyfriend," because Nico has never been able to say that before. Their struggle with their queer identities mixed with Nico's catholic guilt and chronic everyone-hates-me disease makes the fact that he has someone to call his actual boyfriend so much more important to his character development.
