Favorite thing about them: Oh man there's not much to talk about in canon outside of the oc I made from them. But I still think they're very cool!! I also find them felling affection for Ryuunosuke to be very sweet, they're the only character in the whole series together with Higuchi who's ever shown to genuinely care about him.

Least favorite thing about them: How they weren't given a personality outside of “Akutagawa's sister”. Like, I love Gin, but being honest, it's more of loving the character I built pretty much from scratch for them in my mind, because canon literally never gave them a personality. Also, I don't like the voice actor choice for them… I don't know if I'm being conservative with this, but I find that kind of hyperfemininity they're depicted having sometimes (their high-pitched voice, the onsen scene in Wan) pretty stereotypical, that taste of “all tough girls deep down actually want to be delicate and femminine” from old medias I don't really vibe with.

Favorite line:

This one, because it's funny, and specifically because it's a non-verbal line. I like the idea of Gin using their sword more than they use their mouth.

brOTP: Look, I'm weak for siblings dynamics. They're always my favourite thing. I don't remember ever having an hyperfixation that didn't include siblings dynamics. I love love love the Gin / Ryuunosuke relationship and could talk about them for days. ALSO the Black Lizard in general I've already talked about them here I care so much about them. I really like tachigin platonically too. And I like Gin's dynamics with Higuchi, I actually like them better platonically.

OTP: I dig everything tachigin, I really like them and the “I'm not who I say I am but you know me better than myself even though you don't know my true identity” deal they have going on. I also like the idea of Gin and Naomi 👀👀👀 talkative gf x gf who's never said a word their whole life. Also my personal crack ship Gin × Paula ThePromisedNeverland

nOTP: ... I don't really dig higu/gin. Higu/gin friends, please forgive me. I just think that starting dating the person your brother has repeatedly abused would be super awkward, and I don't think I really like the idea of Higuchi basically dating Ryuunosuke's sister as rebound guy. Also it's just a thing with me and not being a fan of vanilla / sugar spice and everything nice wlw ships. I do acknowledge they have their fair share of scenes together and that they're perfect to be interpreted romantically!! The latest volume 23 omake especially, it can perfectly be taken as romantic. It's just not something that does it for me, and tbh I like them better with having a kind of sisters dynamics, with Higuchi being this kind of very exuberant and silly self-assigned older sister and Gin who just likes her and enjoys hanging out with her.

Random headcanon: Oh boy, may I introduce you to my Gin brainrot. I really have so many ideas about them. Apart from what I've already mentioned, I really like the idea of them having selective mutism, especially as it's shown in Wan. I don't think they're someone to talk in general. The Akutagawas household must be death silent 24/7 lol.

Unpopular opinion: I just wish people would give them more flaws. I'ver read my fair share of Gin fics, and in all of them they're always this kind of sassy / funny / witty / pretty / confident / charismatic / overall perfect person. As result, I find them quite boring to read, and they particularly pale in comparison to Ryuunosuke; especially since at least for me it's his flaws that make him such a compelling character. I wish we'd extend some of his flaws to Gin too. They're bad at communication and expressing their feelings. They're aggressive and pessimistic. Idk, anything that makes them a little more human.

Song i associate with them: How To World Domination by Neru. Just the overall imaginary it evokes of two siblings close in age fighting together in a world that is both violent and war-ridden, and terribly domestic and mundane. The feeling of being lonely together. Them both fighting to become a better version of themselves, a kinder version of themselves, even, before my heart grows numb from the cold. This song really is one that always evokes the Akutagawa siblings in my mind whenever it comes on shuffle. Also, Re-education by Neru, for similar reasons.

(part/chapter 1(?) of this random idea. I don't know, the scene came to me last night and I sat up 'til midnight typing it out on my iPad, so that's too much effort for this to go unseen lol)

“You’re not being entirely truthful about that, are you?”

Adam raised his head, hardly able to disguise the sneer on his face. It was bad enough this villain - a charlatan, at least - no formal pardon could erase that - had come to his home, asking politely enough for an audience. But after the incident that had resulted in his curse, he tried to turn no one away.

Magnifico had asked the former king what his greatest wish was. Vaguely, Adam recalled something from Auradon’s history books - King Magnifico, protector of the wishes of his Kingdom of Rosas, turned power-hungry and volatile by calling on the wrong sort of magic - and he thought nothing of offering some half-baked lie, that his deepest wish had been to see his son become the strong, kind, and powerful King of Auradon that Adam had always known he would be.

And Magnifico saw right through it.

“My greatest wish can never be granted,” Adam said, gripping the arms of his chair tightly. A common reaction, his way of trying to hold back his grief and fury that flooded him every time he so much as thought of her.

“Your daughter,” Magnifico said knowingly, and the look that flashed across Adam’s face confirmed it.

“Don’t talk about her!” He growled in a tone that was a vivid reminder of the fierce and frightening Beast he had once been. 

“I understand, Your Highness,” Magnifico said serenely, unruffled by the former king’s snarl. “It is the greatest tragedy when families are torn apart. But I think that I can -”

“No! Whatever you think you can do, you can’t!” Adam snapped, his voice echoing in the vaulted eves of the office. For all the great powers that magic possessed, it could not return his greatest treasure to him. “No magic can restore the dead. No trick you can pull would bring her back to me as she was!”

“Restore the dead?” Magnifico echoed, looking taken aback, and Adam was almost pleased that the old trickster’s guise of calm and control had been fractured. “Oh. Oh, you don’t know?”

“Know what?!” Adam answered. “That my daughter’s in a marble tomb and I mourn her every day? That not an hour goes by that I don’t miss her smile?”

“That you were tricked,” Magnifico told him.

Those words struck Adam like a knife to the heart. Tears immediately sprang to his eyes, and in an instant he bolted to his feet, turning his back on the villain, furious that he’d lost his composure. No, he couldn’t let false hope lure him like that. 

“You lie,” he snarled lowly.

“No, Your Highness. I don’t. I promise you that,” Magnifico responded. At least that ugly, self-assured smirk had been wiped off his face. “I can show you.”

Show him? No. Adam shook his head, trying to fight back that new, hurtful little spark of hope that gnawed at the edge of his thoughts. That couldn’t be possible. Villains could not be trusted, pardoned or not. He’d believed in a pardon before, and that had only resulted in tragedy. If he had been more careful - if he hadn’t been so foolish to forgive - his daughter might still be here with him today.

But then Adam turned back to Magnifico, and the old villain smiled. From his belt, Magnifico withdrew a small, angular, diamond-shaped mirror; this was the very mirror that he had been freed from moments before he was imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost. It was startling to remember the association. The mirror looked sinister and dark, a far cry from Magnifico’s gold, beige, and white robes. 

Magnifico raised the mirror to Adam, and the surface misted over. Adam scowled, already chiding himself for even giving this foolish hope a chance, before the mirror’s surface cleared and he saw… a person. 

A teenager with brown hair trailing over the shoulders of a royal-blue jacket. She stood with her shoulders squared, her hands braced on the tabletop in front of her, frowning slightly as if she were listening to something serious. 

No. It couldn’t be. But he knew her instantly, somehow, without mistake.

“Ma petite bête,” Adam whispered. My little beast.

“She can’t hear you,” Magnifico said quietly. 

In the mirror, the teenager turned her head, like someone knew was talking. Then she opened her mouth, her lips forming words, but they heard nothing.

“How,” Adam said, struggling to keep his voice from trembling. “How is this possible?”

“She didn’t die, Your Highness,” Magnifico said. “You and all the kingdom were simply tricked to think so. So that she could be taken far away from Auradon, with no one the wiser.”

No. Adam clenched his fists. How - who would dare to take her from her family, from him - 

No.

He knew exactly who. 

In the mirrors surfaced the teenager turned her head again. The light caught her eyes just so and reflected a familiar amber, like the prismatic eyes of an animal. 

Adam knew those eyes. Unmistakable. 

Then the image faded.

“So,” Magnifico said coolly, lowering the mirror. “Your greatest wish can be granted.”

“Not by you,” Adam said without thinking, too focused on trying to mentored every detail of the teenager in the mirror, from the curls of her hair - still so much like Belle’s - and her eyes - her eyes changed. She has my eyes…

“Ouch.” Magnifico didn’t look hurt much, just snidely insulted. “I just revealed the truth about your kid and you still have no faith in me?”

“Unless you know exactly where she is, how to get her back, then no, I don’t really have faith,” Adam responded.

Magnifico inclined his head. “I do know where she is. And how to get her back.”

Adam hesitated. It was not wise to trust a villain. That was why his daughter was lost in the first place. And who knew if Magnifico was telling the truth?

But what if this was his only chance? The only way he might get her back where she belonged, at his side?

“And how exactly do we get her back?” Adam whispered, hating every syllable.

Magnifico’s smile had return, though Adam had no way of knowing it with his back to him. “Same way this conversation started. With you… trusting me with your greatest wish.”

y'know i wasn't gonna complain about this because like. who has time to be bitter online and it's already been a while since this dropped. but it's been bothering me so i'm gonna do it anyway lol

this was. so silly. and at this point on canon so out of character for javier. why are you making my little guy so dirty. him bringing up not getting paid if they run, even if it's an attempt to get lloyd to go back to fight the dragon, is,,, no. just no.

javier's first thought is always towards helping people. he now understands that money is necessary and having materialistic motivations is not inherently a bad reason to help others, but he's not that kind of person! he wants to help people and protect others just for the sake of it! and bless his heart he believes it's the same for others too, including lloyd.

at this point in canon javier still,,, wants lloyd to stay and protect others out of his own will. i've talked a bit before about how javier isn't exactly. disappointed. on lloyd for not staying to fight the bone dragon as much as he's regretful of having hoped better of him when he thinks he shouldn't have. as if deep down he didn't want to have hopes of lloyd being better but simply couldn't stop himself and is now regretting it because lloyd is letting him down again.

but he at no point even gave a thought about protecting lloyd's 'honey jar'. there was an entire city full of people at danger of being killed. in what world would javier even care about lloyd getting paid when the stakes are that high.

love karen working for the bulletin and did NOT expect that guy being the blacksmith !!

and honestly foggy and marci... i like them !! i like her, she makes me laugh and they're not bad. i think they're cute together.

i loved seeing more of elektra's backstory. i wasn't a fan of the scene where she finds out she's black sky and for a moment it feels like she changes her mind completely and is about to go the other side idk, felt a bit weird to me. it felt rushed?? sort of? idk

i'm actually very scared to watch the last episode cause i feel like that will be when elektra dies and i do not want that :D

anyways here are some more detailed thoughts on veilguard! very very long and obvs with a lot of spoilers.

so i really loved the combat! it was super fun and challenging to the point where i got bored playing it on easy which never happens lol. i really like the flexibility for builds and how you could swap your companions abilities on the fly to synergize better with what loadout or party you were using. i'm excited to see what the other classes play like but it's going to be tough switching from rogue.

the world, environment and puzzles were all really fun as well. i know there were a lot of god of war 2018 comparisons but i would also liken it to horizon zero dawn tbh. i only had to look up two puzzle solutions the whole game which is nice lol. they were puzzles that really didn't give you much to go on as far as hints so i was stuggling.

the companions are all amazing! my favorite by far was bellara. her storyline really got me and jee young han's performance is amazing. having headcanoned her as my rook's bestie and then having her be the one that gets kidnapped by elgar'nan in the finale only to be able to fend him off and save the day was so gratifying and i cannot believe it worked out that way technically by chance. also playing as an elf and having her be part of the fight and be able to say "you are not my god!" was so fitting i couldn't believe it was the result of a variable choice. if i had picked neve instead it wouldn't have had the same impact at all because i didn't feel as close to her.

like i know techinically the choices relate to things you do and they're likely more limited than they appear at first so you're being railroaded to some extent but fuck that was fantastic game design.

davrin's romance was incredibly cute and and incredibly sappy and i loved it. i'm excited to see more of the other romances as well. also very funny romancing davrin as a crow given his feelings about assassins lol. the actual more "steamy" bit of his final romance scene was a bit silly but the move of going from a shoulder massage to rook being naked was very smooth lol. i really like the bit after though when they're talking about what they want their future to be it was very sweet. and i also was relieved to see how much they incorporated his dalish background as well. i was really worried we were gonna have another pair of elf companions that hated each other and was so happy him and bellara get along so well.

harding was an absolute standout as well. ali hillis gave an incredible performance and i really fell for her. completely gutted when i got her killed. idk what i would have done if i had chosen davrin for that bc i very nearly did except i knew i wanted him in my party so i chose harding and i felt so terrible. but again having chosen the redemption path on her questline and getting her scene about "no one [being] beyond forgiveness" about solas and then having her make the ultimate sacrifice felt so intentional as well. like getting the redemption ending for solas felt like doing it in her honor.

i also really liked taash and felt so bad for them when harding died. like damn their mom just died and now i got their gf killed too oof. they're the character getting the most flak on reddit for how blunt they are and like sorry you don't see the immense comedy in a character that has the subtlety and tact of a sledgehammer. "they come across like a moody teenager" yeah because they're like 22 and up until recently still lived with their very overbearing and hard to please mother. it's also a shame their storyline takes a bit to get going because the game wants you to level up a bit before fighting all those dragons lol.

i did like lucanis but i think i'll probably like him more on a romance run. he had less of a connection to the main story and didn't feel his storyline was as effective on the redemption theme as say harding's was. also feel like spite was underutilized.

neve hated me because i didn't save minrathous lol so i feel like i didn't get to see her full character. also sad i didn't see more of the shadow dragons! i was so confused why they introduced dorian only for him to never show up again and then i realized it's because he's locked to the saving minrathous route lol. her and lucanis were very cute tho! relieved i didn't end up separating both couples in act 3 lol.

emmrich was also very cute and i would die for manfred. him and strife getting together was WILD but good for them. finally, old man yaoi for real. emmrich's storyline did feel very tonally different from the rest of the game but in a fun way. the mourn watch are so whimsical! i think i def want to do a run where i romance him as a fellow mourn watch rook.

i very much liked the way the companion storylines were done. getting to know them through lil dates and banter and then having their "loyalty" mission be a whole series of quests instead of just one was really neat! and i like that they still had extra convos and followups after to fully round out their stories. that's something i felt was missing in previous bioware games for sure.

the varric reveal unfortunately got spoiled for me so i started picking up on the fact that nobody but rook ever spoke to him pretty early on. it was a well done twist tho and still very effective.

as for the solas of it all, damn character of all time. i do wish there had been more of his memories or at least codex entries on his rebellion. i would have loved to hear more about the other evanuris and not just elgar'nan and ghilan'nain. every time this man betrayed and lied and manipulated rook i loved him even more he's such a bastard i love him so much lmao. that whole convo where he's like "you have to be the one to kill elgar'nan and i pinky prommy the veil won't fall by my hand" i was like you big fat liar i knew he was cooking something up. honestly tbh that's on rook for hearing that suspicious phrasing and not reading between the lines until bellara revealed the truth later. he really is a terrible liar come on, rook!

i'm so here for the mythal stuff as well. i really appreciate that their relationship can be interpreted as romantic or not. just as an ace person i really like the possibility that their bond was so intense and special and codependent but not necessarily romantic. or it was romantic but in a way that we can't even really imagine. it's more layered than just "they were lovers" and i think that's really important. he did things he hated out of love for her and then kept doing them out of guilt over her death and regret that they could never reconcile. and he couldn't even face her again when he had the chance. a lot of solavellans are apparently sad that lavellan's not enough to convince him in the end but i think it's important that he gets that closure from mythal in order to move on to the happy future he always wanted with lavellan.

(as a side note my lavellan had mythal's vallaslin and she didn't let him remove them and the implications of him seeing mythal in her as a leader and literally on her face every time he looks at her makes me insane actually. like it's a reminder of the best parts that mythal left behind and of the peaceful and happy future she would have wanted him to have as his friend.)

i can say i was overall satisfied with how my lavellan came across and the ending she got with solas. and the lost elf theme playing on them leaving together i died! i ofc would have always wanted more but that's what fanfic is for. more happy than ever to be a sumalee lavellan enjoyer because she killed it. like i'm gonna see so many videos of the alix version and it won't sound right lol.

as for my criticisms i have very few. i feel like they could have done more to onboard new players or even refresh the memory of returning ones. i would have liked there to be a bit more of a crisis for the elves of the veil jumpers at the return of some of the evanuris confirming that they were evil. it felt like that was info revealed in trespasser/dai that wasn't really widely known outside the inquisition inner circle and now in veilguard it's like "oh yeah everyone knows our gods were evil tyrants" when that really shouldn't be the case. there's a codex entry about bellara having to remind herself to not call solas "fen'harel" and i would have liked that to actually be conveyed more in dialogue. have her call him that the whole game tbh. it is still a title he bears even if didn't choose it himself. also they all know entirely too much elvish lol.

i do fully get why they wouldn't want even a small faction of enemies to made up of elven worshippers of elgar'nan and ghilan'nain tho. like it's not exactly the best idea to have your oppressed minority/indigenous peoples analogue group become an enemy you have to fight and kill in a video game esp when they're being manipulated and lied to. much easier for it to be blood mages or an invading force like the antaam.

on that note i was sad we didn't see any involvement of the larger qunari nation. like the antaam split from the arishok and the rest of the qunari and they just don't do anything at all? the whole game? i don't think there was any mention at all of the qunari offering any aid or intel or even what they were up to during the events of the game. like are they just chilling on their island not dealing with the blight at all lmao. like i was low key excited for a sten cameo and then that whole aspect of the qunari storyline never got picked back up.

also disappointed we didn't see anything of the awakened darkspawn. it was such a cool direction for the story to go after origins and it's been dropped completely. i had some small hope for davrin's storyline to lead there and then it didn't. the isseya thing was cool in it's own way and def made more sense with the theme of accepting your past and building a better future but there was still room to at least hint at it lol.

i also kind of wish the letters we get from the inquisitor about how southern thedas is doing could have been cutscenes. or at least like the little varric vignettes. doing it as a letter was likely a lot cheaper and having cutscenes would have required more choices to be input but that would have been an easy way to appease the fanbase who loves that shit without having to actually write in those characters. i don't agree that your actions and choices from the previous games are all invalidated now and don't matter and i think that's a ridiculous overreaction. those choice still mattered when you made them and those games are their own contained stories.

i also keep seeing people complain about the "crows retcon" and i don't really care about that either lol. either we just say house arainai was uniquely awful and zevran destroyed them and thus the current crows aren't like that or we're really out here complaining that bioware decided they wanted to walk back on child trafficking? idk i'm not really upset about it. the crows that zevran was in was 25 years ago and it seems like the different houses have different standards and practices it's not unbelievable that the organization changed in that time and the houses that did that shit don't exist anymore and the people responsible are all gone.

not sure how i feel about "it was all the elves all along." like that's kinda where the story was going for a while so i can't be too surprised they didn't come up with something else. the old gods and the evanuris being one and the same is like the oldest fan theory in the book. i really really wish merrill could have been in the veil jumpers. apparently eve myles is like just really not interested in doing voice acting/video game work again? so that might be something that was out of bioware's control. i also would have liked to see some fen'harel loyalists. they canonically exist as per tevinter nights so it's wild we don't see any in game.

i don't really get why the tone indicators were what they were for rook. like the sarcastic option is there and then sometimes you purposefully pick a different one to be more serious and rook still says something sarcastic. i distinctly remember one that was the ?!! option or whatever it is and the paraphrase was like "that's really bad" about the blight or something expecting her to say something more urgent and sober and concerned and she said "well that's not ominous." i genuinely cringed lol. i didn't mind the dialogue for the most part and i loved erika's performance but i wish rook could be a bit more mature in spots lol.

as for the "hr speak" criticism i get where people are coming from but really what it feels like is just everyone treats each other in good faith. they don't immediately get angry and defensive over everything. (obviously a very foreign concept to your average youtuber, twitter user, or redditor lol so i see why they hate it.) it's a much nicer way to communicate with people and something more people should do! so i actually really liked that aspect.

also very disappointed we didn't destroy the veil! lol i know i'm in the minority on that but it would have been such a cool twist. totally makes sense we didn't with the way they wrote solas's story tho. i do also wish the inquisitor felt like they had more of a say over what happens to solas. it's really all down to rook's decision and that doesn't seem fair. i would have like at the very least for one of the last convos you get to be with the inquisitor making their case to rook, whatever that case may be.

overall i really loved it! some of the writing is a bit awkward on lore and the tone is wonky at times but it has so much heart and it felt so reactive to you and your choices. it starts slow but they really were not lying about act 3 it's a real doozy. i was honestly a little concerned i wouldn't like it in the first 10-15 hours or so but then it really started picking up. i had totally planned on doing a more vengeful and combative second run with probably a dwarven warden (that feels like the combo that would get the biggest axe to grind against solas), but after seeing the "good ending" idk if i can do it lol. i am really curious at how different the choices and outcomes can actually be but he's just a sad little guy i don't want to fight him or lock him up forever!

So by now a good chunk of people have watched @quinton-reviews Video series (or as he calls it :'Mini series' lol) discussing Fred, iCarly, Victorious and now Sam and Cat.

One thing that just wouldnt let go of me (and I also made a comment on that) was a moment in iCarly he talked about in which Sam and Freddy as a couple have to deal with Freddies mum trying to seperate them. It all goes so far that Freddie finds out that Sam manipulated his application to a summer camp so he would be rejected.

I wont go into much more detail but lets say that Sams reason is not fully... Understandable here.

Now mind you I have only wwtched quintons review and never seen that particular episode myself, but their "fight" really bothered me because it seemed like a completely botched moment where they could've inserted a real character moment.

So. Here is my 5 minute first draft of "how it couldve gone" in scipt form

DISCLAIMER: I do not have a proper grasp on these characters so its likey that this is very out of character. But then again, the writers didn't do them that well either so-

[Scene: Sam and Freddy are upatairs in the iCarly studio, having an argument after Freddie found out that Sam is responsible for him not being accepted to the summer camp. They are alone in the room]

F: I want to know WHY sam!

S: because-- i was mad at you

F: for what?

S: remember when I asked you for the time and--

F: that can't be the reason.

S: it is!

F: Sam, tell me the truth right now or I am leaving!

S: no wait! Wait, please don't go-

F: ...

[Freddy is taken aback by her sudden display of panick and it knocks him out of his own anger. He becomes soft]

F: Sam. Please tell me why you did that. I want to understand.

S: because--- i don't want you to go.

F: but WHY

S: because I need you.

F: need me how?

S: I dont know! It's... Easier with you. Everything is. Like it is with Carly but different. You make things better.

[She sits down defeated and lets her head hang. Freddy hesitates then sits down next to her]

F: Like Carly?

S: yeah but differently. She makes things less awful and problems less.... Bad. She gives me a place I can call home. And you're giving me something like that.

F: being with me grounds you

S: yeah that.

F: ...

S: Please don't leave me.

[ Sam tears up and her voice breaks. Freddy pulls her close so she can lean onto him]

F: I'm still mad. I get now why you did that, but that doesnt mean that I will just forgive you and forget this. I really wanted to get into that summercamp.

S: I know.

F: It's not just a camp I really want to go to. I'd get some space from my mum.

[Sam sits up and faces Freddy with realisation.]

F: I could've had a summer without her constantly being around me. Not that she wouldn't try to still visit and call all the time. But that's not an option anymore.

S: I--- I didn't know.

F: yeah. why didn't you talk to me?

S: because! ... I didn't want you to see me as clingy. we weren't dating and I didn't want you to know what you mean to me.

F: but if we cant talk to each other then maybe we don't even have a friendship we can rely on!

[It grows quiet and freedy stands up. Sam tries to reach for him to sit back down but he manages to escape her.]

F: I'll go get Carly for you.

S: Freddy.

F: You seem to have no trouble talking to her.

S: Freddy!

[Carly comes in and stops in her tracks looking from freddy to sam and back]

F: I'll be going.

C: Freddy-

F: I'll text you. Take care of Sam.

[Freddy leaves without being stopped and Sam tears up again before anger gets to her and she starts to become violent in frustration.]

[Carly manages to wrangle Sam away from her destruction and hugs her while Sam breaks into sobs and clings to Carly.

personality stats: sarcastic, easygoing & charming (also: not really a stickler for the rules and authority in general);

professional skills: deduction, science & combat — no matter what she's doing or how many times she's done it, the results will always be perfect and spot on;

rebecca → relationship status: not overly bad. honestly? could be better, but it could be much, much worse (personal note #1: rebecca is not my favourite character in the series and i'd probably be happier if she had died already — fingers crossed for book 5, sorry-not-sorry, becky — or, at least, if the narrative/characters would stop forcing the readers/mc to forgive her);

tina & verda → relationship status: best pals. her ride-or-die squad;

felix → relationship status: best friend. she found a mischievous kindred soul to relate with and if you ever encounter them together... run (there's this scene at the beginning of book 3, where adam/ava asks why the werewolves attacked them and rue answered with: "i may have made one teeny sarcastic comment", causing adam's/ava's soul to leave their body, lol);

bobby → relationship status: ex-boyfriend (personal note #2: i've always hated that the mc's gender/sexuality is what determines the ros' and bobby's gender) — she's not bothered by him at all, but since her responses are very sarcastic, well... rest in peace, robert marks;

mason → relationship status: a big, bright question mark;

personal canon

if i have to choose a few words to describe her, i'd say: naturally talented, wild card & big dick energy;

hyperactive little kid — couldn't stay still at all. always exploring the world around her, climbing up some tree/furniture or hiding somewhere in the house/backyard to play (the sitters tasked with keeping an eye on her went batshit crazy all. the. time);

as i said here, rue is extremely smart, often prone to boredom if something is not mentally challenging/stimulating enough (which can also be applied to her romantic relationships);

if you ever need someone to cut out some tension (or spike it up even more), she is the right gal for you. unfortunately, 99% of the time, the saying 'taking things seriously' is not part of her vocabulary (e.g. in book 3, when finding out about the trappers' bounty, she says: "how much am i worth?"). what can i say, she really likes to have a good time;

sarcasm is her default mode, plus she always downplays her feelings/emotions by either ignoring them or making badly-timed jokes;

rarely bothered by anything (e.g. in book 3, during the 'fight' with mason/morgan at the bakery, rue replies with: "me being naked is way more important to you") plus, not a jealous person ever (alima included, when she'll make her appearance);

was in an on-again/off-again relationship with bobby. after a while, though, she got exceedingly bored by the monogamous lifestyle and decided to dump his ass;

never had serious relationships/fell in love before — this is partly because: a) she's a free-spirited person & b) she's scared shitless of commitment (mostly caused by rook's death and seeing what that did to rebecca). in a sense, she and mason are quite similar;

just thinking about the word 'love' has her panicking really bad (i.e. after the 'date' at the antique shop), so when mason will inevitably confess his feelings to her... the only way i can see this going is with rue assuming it's all some kind of prank but, once her huge brain will catch on the fact that mason is not exactly the joking type, she will get cold feet and blearily say: "uhh, thank you, i guess?". after realizing what she has said/done, she will skedaddle so fast that the only thing people are going to see is an indistinctive, blurry form (later, she will definitely wish for an asteroid to hit her);

likes to sing everywhere: in the shower, at her workplace, inside the car, you name it (and she's also very good at hitting those high notes too — while she was attending the police academy, 'the karaoke incident' happened and no one beside her and tina knows the truth about it. verda is still trying to unsuccessfully bribe them to know what took place);

excellent chef — loves to cook/bake when she has some free time (she just thinks the entire process is pretty neat, starting with a few ingredients to achieve a full-on meal);

harry kim's romance life makes me sad and he third wheels b'elanna and tom for a time and eventually he proposes to libby and she declines and also libby breaks up with him and eventualy he gets a new gf nancy and eventually she is revealed to have a terminal illness and also is pregnant and also doesnt want to keep baby and also goes into a coma and also they take the baby out of her and incubate it and also nancy gets healed and chooses to leave harry and their unborn baby lol so harry's left a single dad with barely any ties to earth and thats awesome CHEERS!!!!!

also author oc character alien biology bonds herself to harry's unborn daughter and i feel so normal about that momcore hahahahahahaha rubbing sweat off of my brow shes so not maternal as a character shes a cocky pilot girl i have normal thoughts about her and harry kim together (not canon U___U)

kathryn and phoebe fight a lot during kathryns brief time on earth in Protectors and it sours their relationship and kathryn leaves earth for 3+ years without either one attempting to amend things/apologize and this is all awesome because kathryns already died and come back to life at this point lmao GROW UP

after tom and b'elanna go through this bombastic scheme to lie to their friends and family involving belanna and miral "dying" in order to protect miral from prophecy this is the last straw for julia paris defending/forgiving her son for lying so much so she decides she needs to get custody of their children bc theyre unsafe in their care and b'elanna ends up hating her mother in law for it and tom goes to family law court and tom ends up winning and keeping his kids and its "kids" bc belanna's pregnant with their son at this time anyway they end up naming him MICHAEL which i guess is julia's father's name??? if i remember correctly lmao,,,,,, anyway i thought that was poor taste for the ordeal she put them through for no reason haha

the emh realizes he loves seven but through some long chain of events he has to erase his memories of her and him together (sad) she tries to rebuild their friendship afterwords ;___;

belanna asks kathryn if her and chakotay are ever going to have children and kathryns like "no lmao" and chakotay gets visually sad about it and then its never brought up again *PUNCHES WALL*

theres a scene where kathryn and chakotay skinny dip in an alien planet lake together at night like they slip out to go swim naked together IM FINE IM FINE IM FINE. that book also has chakotay admiring natty kathryn in her element on a planet doing scientific research and yknow just yearning looking at her and thats sooooooo cute

i love infinity's prism - Places of Exile id recommend reading it if you are me and you love exploration of "JANEWAY GIVES UP" as a plot. :) one of my faves. its short and sweet, you get a JC (unborn) baby with a name and everything please clap. this book got me to actually like neelix/kes lmao A FEAT. i also get to indulge harry/b'elanna, even if its a little Toxic in this one U____U;;;;; kes and neelix have triplets named after characters who die/are dead in the book lol

ONE mirrorverse story for voyager has chakotay as captain and janeway as engineer, they are lovers, janeway ends up being evil and works for belanna (has some very wlw vibes lol) and hates humans. they (JC) end up killing each other. <3 janeway calls chakotay "chuckles" in it. the idea of engineer mean grouchy janeway is so BIOYIOYIOYIONG AWOOOOGA to me.

For real this might be the most malicious opinion I have, but... I can't deal with the power scalers. This is probably because I personally am not super interested in the whole "who is the toughest opponent Gaara could 1v1 without Shukaku, pre Shippuden, post-Naruto, while he stands on one leg and he already has been in 7 other battles in the past 30 minutes and Temari and Kankuro are dead and the moon is full and btw he also doesn't have any sand."

Of course I'm exaggerating, but honestly, power scaling just invites so much room for fighting it's not even funny. It's why sometimes curiosity gets the best of me and I end up on the Naruto subreddit only to slowly back away because there's just....so many power scalers and they're all fighting about the same fights, day in and day out.

And I know. I KNOW this is a Shonen manga...A lot of people are in it for the fights, but I feel like a lot of the nuance and themes of the series are lost on "who can beat who in a fight with just brass knuckles?"

Naruto wouldn't be the series it is without the themes surrounding friendship, love, betrayal, destiny and hard work over natural talent. These are the reasons the characters fight in the first place. Plus, a lot of the canon fights were won because of plot armor or as plot devices. Not to mention Naruto used to be about actual ninjas doing ninja stuff rather than sheer power...Remember when Naruto fooled Kiba in the chunin exams? Blew my freaking mind how brilliant that was!

Anyways... I always see people ranting about the canon fights and it's just so banal to me. For example, "Lee should've beat Gaara in the Chunin Exams."

And that's okay...Fair enough, you could argue that, but like....Where does the rest of the series go, though? HOW DO WE PROGRESS IF LEE WON CAUSE OF POWER SCALING?

You wouldn't get Gaara's hospital scene so you would never really know his motive for why he is the way he is...Then Shukaku would just erupt during the Chunin exams, I guess, and that would be that...No fight between Gaara and Naruto, no redemption. Really there would just be no story at all at that point.

It's like people take character losses as personal slights, which I understand because Deidara will always get two massive thumbs down because of what he did to my boy, but also Gaara's defeat and kidnapping just needed to happen. It demonstrated that the series had high stakes cause Kishimoto could just lampoon my favourite character at any point in time, and I'd be like "that's it, I quit!" only to realize that he's actually ok in the end. Actually, Gaara's defeat made me love him more because I felt more empathy for him that he tried so hard to defend his village only to die in the end, and also because no matter how much he had changed he will always have to deal with the legacy of once being bonded to Shukaku.

It's just feels like a richer experience to have characters fall on their faces and lose sometimes.

And as for Lee losing in the Chunin exams...Man...was that ever a battle because honestly I loved both characters. I didn't want either of them to lose, and I really felt for Lee. Yet, he was better off losing because we got the rest of the story surrounding Gaara, and we got that amazing poetic justice when Gaara comes and saves him from Kimimaru.

Plus, that fight humbled Gaara which is just great, cause he was a lil' brat in the beginning, which is fine cause I loved him anyways.

Would you please rank the shameless seasons, from the one you love the most to the one you hate the most? Thank you 🙂

From fave to least fave:

Season 4: The best Mickey season. Fiona’s downward spiral was heartbreaking but Emmy Rossum acted her ass off with it. I think it was also the last season where I fully liked all of the Gallaghers lol

Season 1: They were all so innocent. Probably Fiona’s best season imo. I also like looking back at fetus Gallavich, knowing where they eventually end up.

Season 3: ANGST FACTORY. And it didn’t go up from there lol. I have some major gripes with this season (mainly Mandy running Karen over with her bc they were fighting over Lip of all people) but it was dramatic and kept my interest.

Season 2: Tbh I honestly don’t remember a lot about this season. But I know the writing and characterizations were pretty solid. Too little of Mickey though.

After this, the ratings start to become a little more difficult because I have very complicated feelings about most of the following seasons.

Season 5: You could tell that this season was when the “comedy” takeover was starting to bleed through. The only truly good storyline was Ian and Mickey’s and even that got ruined at the end. Idk what the fuck everyone else was doing. Still, I do have to give it credit for giving some of the best and gut-wrenching Gallavich scenes.

Season 7: Oh runaway convict Mickey SL, how I love thee. (Even though you broke my heart the first time I watched). This season also had some good Gallagher family aspects.

Season 10: This is entirely biased because I know the overall quality was bad. I KNOW. But…Mickey coming back full time, Gallavich getting married, and the show making me fully forgive Ian brought me too much happiness to fully discount it.

Season 6: Tbh the Mickey lover in me absolutely hated this season and the petty part of me wants to rank it last. But if I’m being honest, I can’t with good conscience say it was worse than the seasons below it. Because it truly wasn’t lol.

Season 9: Really hated the way they treated Fiona in her last season. But…at least we got the 9x06 prison reunion. And some good acting from Emmy and Jeremy.

Season 11: Horrible. But Ian and Mickey were married and for the most part, stable. So I can’t say it gave me nothing.

Season 8: THE WORST. Awful. Will never forgive the Gay Jesus storyline they put Ian through. Truly my villain origin story. The only storyline worth a damn was Lip’s but I don’t care about him enough to have just that save it for me.

Sorry this took so long I was visiting family over the weekend. Anyway HOLY SHIT LORE AND DRAMA DROP EVERYTHING WE ARE BACK

I’m not gonna lie for the past few chapters of constant dialogue I’ve been kinda running out of things to talk about except “I like it” but this chapter has broken the streak and I can proudly say this is now one of my favorite chapters. It’s up there with when Rezek nuked all of Wizzrobe kind, Kobb and Ganondorf playing chess in the Malice, and when Lettie and Hoz destroyed racism.

Also I guess we now know how you’re gonna do TOTK, so from what I can assume, Ganondorf has slight control over the Calamity and can use its power for whatever the fuck he wants but it’s constantly trying to pull him back in and it eventually will which will be the cause of the Upheaval and whatever tomfuckery the Calamity wants to do with Ganondorfs body.

Also rip to Dinju she a real one

Jokes aside I love how you used the Gibdos story and connection to Riju as a way to set up the racism arc that’s inevitably coming in the future. (I hope to god you do it better than SVTFOE season 3 and 4) I mean we know the asshole Zora elders aren’t gonna forgive the monsters, and probably most of the Gerudo soldiers considering Riju doesn’t even forgive Keene and she didn’t even fight Dinju. And since the only things Hylians are good at is being racist I think we know what their decision on forgiving the monsters is gonna be.

All around an amazing chapter and a breath of fresh air from the never ending walls dialogue of the recent chapters.

(P.S. when I say constant dialogue I don’t mean that as an offense or criticism I mean that as in a way of me saying that I didn’t have much to talk about in the breakdowns)

I've been doing my best trying not to fall into all the stereotypical pitfalls authors can do when writing about topics like that (especially when they don't research it lol).

Honestly one of my prime reasons I even started writing this fic in the first placed was because I HATED how so many fantasy series treats goblins/orcs/trolls/etc. Like even with DnD we've seen them thankfully backpedal on the idea of "evil" races like the Drow and Orc/Half-Orc....but then they still pull the "oh yeah but all goblins are still evil so don't feel bad about slaughtering them by the dozens lol".

As much as I've been loving Baldur's Gate 3, almost all of the dialogue revolving around goblins is..........yea............

☾ my views on crash course in romance.

Just started watching this drama, and hmm! Looks interesting, our male lead has quite an ego, and needs to humble himself a bit 🤌🏻 just a little. But, his house is one hell of a dream place for everyone, isn’t it?

I thought our female lead is a single mother, turns out she is a step mother, runs a banchan restaurant, and takes care of the girl - who’s name i forgot, because i’m still on episode one.

“say it three more times” is my favourite dialogue of chiyeol, he’s so 🤌🏻😂💀 respectively.

The way he gobbles her lunchbox, because it’s so good, he doesn’t have nausea or anything.

I really love how haee looks at haengseon and says “can I just call you mom? ” that scene will always be my favourite. What am honour. I thought immediately.

The mother daughter relationship is not perfect, but both are trying their best in their lives for each other. That’s what matters.

Chiyeol’s best moments : when he’s so straight forward, his assistant has to apologize and explain, confirm something and say it three times so chiyeol has his peace of mind, him wearing sunglasses & hat to get his lunchbox from haengseon’s shop, him teaching ... 🤌🏻 Top tier, him catching that stalker girl, and not letting her get away the first time she trespasses in his house.

No, please look at them, not both of them apologizing to each other, because they think the other will not be so forgiving, lol.

Not him being afraid of her, because she was a former athlete.

Breaking down The signs as Crime and Punishment characters

I still don't know if I will do this in order, or by element, or what, but maybe I will begin with my least favorite until I arrive to my favorite character (so, Scorpio and Sagittarius girlies, please be patient because obviously Dyma and Rodya are going to be the last ones).

ARIES: ARKADY IVANOVICH SVIDRIGAILOV

Aries is known for being the first sign of the zodiac wheel. Therefore, it's a bold, energetic, confident, and even charismatic sign.

OF COURSE I'M NOT SAYING SVIDRIGAILOV IS ALL OF THIS, it has it's shades.

The way he speaks to Raskolnikov "with the utmost politeness" when they meet at the inn, the way he calls Dunya "pretty little wild creature" (iugh, btw), and in general the way he speaks in a very stilted manner...those are some traits that may expose the aries "confident and charismatic" nature.

BUT SVIDRIGAILOV PORTRAYS THE DARK PART OF ARIES.

The Aries is an awful loser, and it's very impatient, short-tempered, ruthless, and selfish. No doubt why he never gave a damn about Marfa Petrovna, about damaging Dunya's reputation at the village, and why he can barely stand his plan of blackmailing the Raskolnikov siblings didn't turn out as he was expecting it to, something that he could have guessed if he would have took some time to read Dunya's behavior when she worked at his house, but of course, Aries impatience is enough to make Svidrigailov act as soon as he listens to Rodya confessing the murder to Sonya, without even stop to consider Dunya was not having any of his bullshit.

Also, Rodya is the only person who dares to confront him not only about Marfa Petrovna's death (Dunya also did this at the revolver scene) but also about his perversions, and about him being a total libertine, all of this at the tavern scene. This is sort of interesting because both of their signs (Aries and Scorpio) are ruled by Mars (let's remember Mars was the Greek god of war), which means they have this tendency to fight and to make a drama out of anything.

Aries is also willing to help others...as long as it serves him in any way, which could explain why he gives Sonya all of that money before shooting himself (by the way, I have always thought about this as a way of him trying to make himself "clean" after all the bad things he had done, as a way of atone his sins and crimes), or by offering Dunya help to get Rodya a passport and get him out of Russia so he doesn't have to confess his crime. These two things were, of course, going to give him benefits: with Sonya, the idea was getting some sort of "divine forgiveness" for having done some "good" for those in need, and with Dunya, maybe he was thinking she was going to attach herself to him after saving her brother from facing justice.

So yeah, according to the zodiac wheel, Arkadi Ivanovich Svidrigailov was just a silly little Aries...but we all know he is a dork pervert, and we hate him for that.
