Huh! I was thinking about this just earlier!
"Hakuba-kun likes Akako-chan! Although it's hard to tell what Hakuba-kun's thinking, that part is crystal clear!"
Quite aside from the way that Kaito is being way too lax here (dude, don't just have Hakuba wearing sunglasses and grinning like that... not with the tools... as if Hakuba would), Aoko's just put into words that Hakuba Is Interested In Akako.
Though, like in a previous one of my posts, I'm gonna say that Aoko's right in something else: we don't know what Hakuba's thoughts on this are.
We only know that he's attracted to her, that although she likely distracts him, he can think around it, and that he'll take her word for things in spite of him believing in logic and her saying her source of information is the Infernal Lucifer.
I'd honestly love if Gosho could please show us the inside of Hakuba's head on this, and know if there's any reason why he likes her, and also to ideally see an arc where she comes to terms with the whole... wanting to control people thing, and the idea that if you like someone, you can't... do that to them.
All this said, Akako hasn't actually shown any interest in Hakuba herself as far as I'm aware, so Gosho will have to write that in as well!

Hiya!! For the emoji questions thingy…
📆 and 😡 seem like interesting ones :))
📅- Fall/Autumn. Where I grew up, it meant change of colors in the trees. Its cooler days and colder nights. Its wearing bulky sweaters and warm clothes. Its leading up to my favorite holiday, Halloween. I love it.
😡- what pisses me off? A lot actually, but first things that come to mind is people treating those in retail as inferior creatures, berating them for things they themselves have no control over (policy and prices), and just treating them like shit in general. Anyone treating anyone else like shit/ as lesser human beings just because they can pisses me off in general.
Wanna ask me something -👋 Send Me Emojis 👀👌m?? Here's the post to join in.

If you're not sure what to write, here's what I said. Maybe it'll help shake loose some thoughts:
As an immunocompromised person, I believe that all Americans should have access to any and all vaccine boosters they choose (including novavax). It does not help high risk groups stay healthy when the rest of the population is denied boosters. Among other things, my partner does not qualify for a booster, and he and I are primary caregivers for another immunocompromised person who is disabled and whom we do not want to put at further risk. Scenarios like these are abundant. People in high risk groups often depend on others for care, and when those others are barred from receiving boosters, it puts everyone at risk. It's one thing to make a recommendation that supposed low-risk populations shouldn't need a vaccine, and another thing entirely to bar them from receiving one, even if their life circumstances might warrant it. PLEASE reconsider the idea of limiting vaccine boosters, it is not good health practice and will not protect high-risk Americans.
The CDC is trying to limit the new COVID booster to only people 75+, pregnant people, and the immunocompromised.
We have two days (as of September 6th, 2023) to let them know this isn't acceptable.

I'm sure many people have already shared this here, but I think it's important that people here on Tumblr need to see this.

lead balloon (the tumblr post that saved me)
if this comic resonated with you, it would mean the world to me if you donated to this palestinian family's escape fund.
--
no creative notes because this isn't that kind of comic.
I know I don’t owe any of you anything but I still felt compelled to write about my long term absence. And I feel far enough away from the dangerous spot I was in to be able to make this comic. I have a therapist now, and she agreed that making this could be a very cathartic gesture, and the start of properly leaving these thoughts behind me. I am still, at seemingly random times, blindsided by fleeting desires to kill myself. They’re always passing urges, but it’s disarming, and uncomfortable. I worry sometimes that my brain’s spent so long thinking only about suicide that it’s forgotten how to think about anything else. Like, now that I've opened that door for myself, I'll never be able to fully shut it again. But I’m trying my best to encourage my mind in other directions. We'll see how that goes.
I am still donating all proceeds from my store to Palestinian causes. So far, I've donated over $15K, not including donations coming from my own pocket or the fundraising streams which jointly raised around $10K. In the time since I made my initial post about where this money would be going, the focus has shifted from aid organisations to directly donating to escape funds.
If you'd like to do the same, you can look at Operation Olive Branch, which hosts hundreds of Palestinian escape funds or donate to Safebow, which has helped facilitate the safe crossing and securing of important medical procedures for over 150 at-risk palestinians since the beginning of the genocide.

I'm on the road (in the sky) again today, so let's play some games.
instead of "Ask me", I want you to tell me your story
Tell me about:
Why you’re single
How’s your relationship going?
What do you dream about at night?
What are you afraid of?
What’s your favorite song?
Tell me about the book you’re reading
A poem or song lyric that won’t leave your head
Tell me about your secret crush
Where would you go if money wasn’t an issue
What’s your deepest wish
Do you believe in magic?
Tell me a ghost story
What’s the weirdest thing that has happened to you?
What do you need to get off your chest?
What are you mad about?
What are you excited about?
Are you afraid for the future?
Fill my Ask Box

the person who helped today when I fell out of my wheelchair actually did a really great job, so I want to share in case other people wonder what to do. [Note: this is not universal, this is merely a suggestion from one person, every wheelchair user's needs are different! I am a person who uses a manual chair usually pushed by someone else who is also disabled.]
Scenario: you see someone in a wheelchair fall out of their chair, and you have the ability to help.
1. Approach and ask "are you okay?"*
2. Next question if they say no, are vague, or open to continuing conversation** is, "is there anything I can do to help?" Or "what can I do?"
If they say no to help, then that's the end, just leave and go do whatever you were doing!
If they ask for help or say they are mildly injured, ask "what would you like me to do?" And wait for an answer before doing anything! If they seem dazed or confused, they might have hit their head or had another medical event*, or they might just be like that due to regular disability. Be patient.
Do not touch the person unless they say to, or they are like, unconcious in the middle of the road, ya know?? Wheelchair users usually have conditions that mean being handled improperly can severely injure us, you could cause much more damage than the fall.
Some things they might need you to do:
Bring their wheelchair closer (mine went about 5 feet away after it dumped me)
engage the brakes of the wheelchair
hold wheelchair steady if it's an unsteady surface (mud, hill, ramp, wet, etc)
offer an arm for them to hold onto to get up (them grabbing you, not you grabbing them) or move another solid item closer for them to use (i.e. a chair) [only do this if you physically have the ability to!]
If the terrain is rough (i.e. a parking lot), they *might* ask you to push their chair to a more stable area once they are back in their chair
nothing
Something else
Do what they ask, NOT what you think would be helpful. If for some reason you have to do something (i.e. you can't stop oncoming traffic and need to get them out) ASAP, tell them what you plan to do
Keep in mind they might also be D/deaf, have a communication disability, be stunned after the fall, have a head injury, not trust other people, etc. Be patient and treat them as a person with autonomy and agency! They might need to just sit on the ground for a few minutes to recover before trying to get back in their chair. They might want everyone to leave them alone. They might ask you to call someone specific. Their chair might have broken and that can be extremely distressing. All of this is like if your legs spontaneously stop working when you're out and about!
A lot of wheelchair users (NOT ALL) have ways to get into their chair on their own once the chair is close enough and brakes engaged (but it's hard from the ground!). Here's what brakes look like on a lot of manual wheelchairs, in case they ask you to lock the brakes. They're levers on each side and pushing the lever pushes a bar against the wheel to hold it still.
Tumblr media
ID: A manual wheelchair with the brake levels circled in red and labeled "user brake levers"
*There is also the possibility of course that a person fell out of their chair due to a seizure or other medical event, so that is why it is important to ask if they are okay. If you saw them hit their head, tell them so. If they had a medical event, follow protocol for that, I'm not gonna get into it here (thought I could).
**sometimes a person will be clear after the first question i.e. "I'm all good thanks" clearly means they do not need you to ask another question, you can just leave them alone. Keep walking and don't stare. A lot of the time people will be a bit banged up but be totally fine and able to manage on their own.
TLDR: Ask the wheelchair user if they're okay, then what they need, and then do exactly that, including leaving them alone. Thanks!

🎶 - Top 5 favorite songs?
🌟 - A wish you’ll wish for?
💃 - Can you dance?
🍴 - Favorite food(s) to eat?
🎶 - Top 5 favorite songs?- Just 5??? ugh Music is such a huge part of me and who I am and everything I do. And you want me to pick just 5????? damnit, Yenn! Ok in no particular order
Love alive by Heart - The lyrics for this resonated with 10 year old Peyton when I first heard it and they still do today.
The Wizard- Black Sabbath- Sabbath was Dad's favorite band and I grew up with them. I knew the words to Iron Man before I knew my alphabet. This song hits me the most of all thier songs.
Cumberland Gap- Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit- I just discovered Jason in the past 4-5 years. He is an artist that i feel like has written every song just for me. he hits me in the soul with every single one of his songs. His song Anxiety was how i found him and that was almost the song I chose for this list.
Traveler by Chris Stapleton- Everything this man writes and sings is glorious. This though i feel in my soul. This is me in a song.
Bird dog by Shaman's Harvest- The topics in this song, coupled with the singer's voice and the music with the Native American overtones just... i feel it in my toes.
🌟 - A wish you’ll wish for?- World peace. And an end to cancer.
💃 - Can you dance?- Yes yes I can.
🍴 - Favorite food(s) to eat?- I'm a sucker for good smoked brisket, well cooked beef in general, I love sweet and spicy in the same bite no matter what the food. Food filled with love and care. And a good mac and cheese.
Wanna ask me something -👋 Send Me Emojis 👀👌m?? Here’s the post to join in.

this is just my opinion but i think any good media needs obsession behind it. it needs passion, the kind of passion that's no longer "gentle scented candle" and is now "oh shit the house caught on fire". it needs a creator that's biting the floorboards and gnawing the story off their skin. creators are supposed to be wild animals. they are supposed to want to tell a story with the ferocity of eating a good stone fruit while standing over the sink. the same protective, strange instinct as being 7 and making mud potions in pink teacups: you gotta get weird with it.
good media needs unhinged, googling-at-midnight kind of energy. it needs "what kind of seams are invented on this planet" energy and "im just gonna trust the audience to roll with me about this" energy. it needs one person (at least) screaming into the void with so much drive and energy that it forces the story to be real.
sometimes people are baffled when fanfic has some stunning jaw-dropping tattoo-it-on-you lines. and i'm like - well, i don't go here, but that makes sense to me. of fucking course people who have this amount of passion are going to create something good. they moved from a place of genuine love and enjoyment.
so yeah, duh! saturday cartoons have banger lines. random street art is sometimes the most precious heart-wrenching shit you've ever seen. someone singing on tiktok ends up creating your next favorite song. youtubers are giving us 5 hours of carefully researched content. all of this is the impossible equation to latestage capitalism. like, you can't force something to be good. AI cannot make it good. no amount of focus-group testing or market research. what makes a story worth listening to is that someone cares so much about telling it - through dance, art, music, whatever it takes - that they are just a little unhinged about it.
one time my friend told me he stayed up all night researching how many ways there are to peel an orange. he wrote me a poem that made me cry on public transportation. the love came through it like pith, you know? the words all came apart in my hands. it tasted like breakfast.
