Ever wondered how your favorite animal stacks up against other people’s favorites? Well you’ve come to the right place!

Here’s how this will work…

Polls will be ranked like so:

If an animal is your favorite, it receives 5 points

If you love an animal, it receives 3 points

If you are neutral about an animal, no points are added or subtracted to its ranking

If you dislike an animal, 1 point will be taken away

If you hate an animal, 3 points will be taken away

At the end of a polling period, that animal’s points will be its rank.

The top 20 or 50 or 100 or whatever (number to be decided on at a later date) will move on to the next round!

Since it’s not very feasible for me to make 1.5 million polls for every known species of animal, the first round of polls will be by Phylum, the next round will be by Class, then Order, then Family, then Genus, and then Species.

If you want your favs to make it to the top, make sure you know what group they’re in! This can be found via a quick Wikipedia search and a look-see right here (using the bearded vulture as an example):

The Bearded Vulture is in the Phylum Chordata, the Class Aves/Reptilia, the Order Accipitriformes, and the Genus Gypaetus, so now I know to vote for that group as my favorite when it comes up!

The top ranked Phyla will move on to the next round, where they will then be split into Classes, and Round 2 will begin.

Round 3 will take the winning classes and split them by Order, then follow the same pattern.

Round 4 will take the winning orders and split them by Family, then follow the same pattern.

Round 5 will take the winning families and split them by Genus, then follow the same pattern.

Round 6 will take the winning genera and split them by Species, then follow the same pattern.

The Ultimate Round will pit the top 20/50/100 (number also to be decided at a later date) species against each other.

If no clear photos exist of a species, it will not be included in the polls. (So, if you’re a scientist who just discovered a new moth and it’s your favorite animal you better get those photos on iNaturalist quick)

You can have multiple favorites, I am not keeping track of that, but I do ask that you answer honestly!

I will add a bit of propaganda under a cut on each poll, but please feel free to reblog polls and add your own! If you want your fav(s) to win, these polls need to be seen by lots of people!

I do encourage people to not vote blindly. Look at the photos, read the propaganda, maybe even do your own research before you decide how you feel about an animal!

And lastly, please keep things civil! We all have different tastes and someone hating your fav is not a personal affront against you!

That being said, we do not “Kill it with fire” here. It’s ok to not like an animal, but we do not tolerate people calling for violence against a species or wishing a whole species extinct.

The goal of this post is to keep track of all the war crimes as recognized by the UN's Office on Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect committed by Israeli authority and military against the Palestinian, Syrian and Lebanese people, and which remain unpunished by international authorities.

The ICC is not doing its job. It has failed its mission. It's up to us to push for Israel to be held accountable.

Feel free to comment, I'll feel free to delete the Zionist propaganda. I can't help it, I'm allergic to Nazis. Don't ask for "reliable" western media sources either; you can just open your eyes. I promise you it's better to see things as they are.

Everything under the cut is the material present on the UN's Office on Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect website as of 12/11th. Just go check it yourself if you need. Crimes in bold and red are those identified as committed. I'd love to keep tracks of numbers but... they are overwhelming. I can't. I don't think anyone can.

Paragraphs 2.c, 2.d, 2.e, 2.f and 3 are repeats of the previous but applicable to "armed conflicts not of an international character" and details to take into account in such cases. For the sake of brevity, they will be skipped and instances applicable will be reported in the previous instances of said crimes.

Article 8 War Crimes

1. The Court shall have jurisdiction in respect of war crimes in particular when committed as part of a plan or policy or as part of a large-scale commission of such crimes.

2. For the purpose of this Statute, ‘war crimes’ means:

2.a. Grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949, namely, any of the following acts against persons or property protected under the provisions of the relevant Geneva Convention:

2.b.ii. Intentionally directing attacks against civilian objects, that is, objects which are not military objectives;

2.b.iii. Intentionally directing attacks against personnel, installations, material, units or vehicles involved in a humanitarian assistance or peacekeeping mission in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations, as long as they are entitled to the protection given to civilians or civilian objects under the international law of armed conflict;

2.b.iv. Intentionally launching an attack in the knowledge that such attack will cause incidental loss of life or injury to civilians or damage to civilian objects or widespread, long-term and severe damage to the natural environment which would be clearly excessive in relation to the concrete and direct overall military advantage anticipated;

2.b.v. Attacking or bombarding, by whatever means, towns, villages, dwellings or buildings which are undefended and which are not military objectives;

2.b.ix. Intentionally directing attacks against buildings dedicated to religion, education, art, science or charitable purposes, historic monuments, hospitals and places where the sick and wounded are collected, provided they are not military objectives;

Subjecting persons who are in the power of an adverse party to physical mutilation or to medical or scientific experiments of any kind which are neither justified by the medical, dental or hospital treatment of the person concerned nor carried out in his or her interest, and which cause death to or seriously endanger the health of such person or persons;

2.b.xi. Killing or wounding treacherously individuals belonging to the hostile nation or army;

2.b.xii. Declaring that no quarter will be given;

2.b.xiii. Destroying or seizing the enemy's property unless such destruction or seizure be imperatively demanded by the necessities of war;

2.b.xiv. Declaring abolished, suspended or inadmissible in a court of law the rights and actions of the nationals of the hostile party;

2.b.xv. Compelling the nationals of the hostile party to take part in the operations of war directed against their own country, even if they were in the belligerent's service before the commencement of the war;

2.b.xvi. Pillaging a town or place, even when taken by assault;

2.b.xvii. Employing poison or poisoned weapons;

2.b.xxii. Committing rape, sexual slavery, enforced prostitution, forced pregnancy, as defined in article 7, paragraph 2 (f), enforced sterilization, or any other form of sexual violence also constituting a grave breach of the Geneva Conventions;

2.b.xxiii. Utilizing the presence of a civilian or other protected person to render certain points, areas or military forces immune from military operations;

2.b.xxiv. Intentionally directing attacks against buildings, material, medical units and transport, and personnel using the distinctive emblems of the Geneva Conventions in conformity with international law;

I’ve seen a handful of tournament blogs popping up and decided to join the fun, so I’m hosting a tournament to determine the favorite of Danganronpa’s female characters!

Rules/disclaimers(?) before I start:

This bracket will only include characters from the main games. Please please please do not ask me “Where’s [character from x novel]?” or “You forgot [obscure side character]?” I don’t know every single character ever mentioned in the franchise and it would take forever to add every single person, so I’m only including characters from the main games.

Similarly, please don’t ask me about gender discourse. I’ll make a short, one-day qualifier poll regarding Chihiro Fujisaki’s placement on the bracket once this gets some attention, but other than that I’m taking no requests.

The polls will last for one week before I reblog with the results. You can submit propaganda via an ask and I’ll tag it with the #propaganda tag. Try not to be too mean to each other in the notes while or after the polls are running <3

The “reasons” behind voting always feel like a source of conflict to me so I want to make something clear: this tournament is about which character is your favorite! Hello everyone! I have decided I really enjoy running brackets, so I am here to run a mcyt siblings bracket! I'm personally familiar with the empires/traffic life/hermitcraft side of mcyt, but any mcyt fandom is allowed here for this bracket :D

Obviously, this is characters not creators and this is for fun/entertainment, so please keep this lighthearted! Tonetags help convey that you're just being silly or not serious, so click here for a masterlist of them. You can submit siblings from canon, fanon, or personal headcanons, even ones commonly shipped together, just don't do shipping content in the context of them being related.

Submitted siblings can be literally anyone in the MCYT content sphere you want. They can have age gaps, it can be found family vibes, it can be adopted, it can be biological, they could be from different spheres of mcyt, there can be any amount of characters in the sibling ship , etcetc! For example, you can submit Grian & Pearl as siblings, but you can also submit Grian & Pearl & Jimmy & Lizzie as siblings or whatever else :D

Once we get to the end, if all runs well and people enjoy this/want me to run another, there is a high chance that I will start another version of mcytblings with a new set of submissions. New siblings can be added and old siblings who lost can make a comeback (aka anything goes, but previous winners can’t run again). Depends, honestly :p

I have a question for you regarding propaganda

How to avoid hiding the polls behind the propaganda posts? I myself have wondered about this and I've also received messages on the topic, so I want to work on a solution that works best for everybody

On the one hand, I have linked the masterpost with all the poll links in the Pinned Post. Please do check it regularly, because that's where all the main information is.

On the other hand, I want to consider the following factors:

can the propaganda posts make it hard to find the poll of the character for whom the post is for? (especially if it's posted on a day after the poll is posted)

since the asks can't get shortened by a 'read more' button, will that lead to difficulty in finding older posts?

can some people be disadvantaged because they sent one propaganda post instead of multiple?

However I do not want to discourage people from sending propaganda, so I was wondering what the best way to implement this change would be. When it comes to ease of finding characters, a solution I thought of was tagging every one in their adjacent post. (So far, the tag #round 1 functions as the tag for polls and the tag #group 1 left side or #group 1 right side functions as the character finder tag, but I understand how even that might cause some confusion)

One solution would be to have the majority of propaganda be in reblogs of the polls themselves (or in the tags or reblogs). Or perhaps limiting asks so that they can only be sent on the day of the polls and not afterwards? Personally the reblog solution sounds good to me, but I don't want to disallow asks, especially since I like ppl doing propaganda for their friends. Maybe have the asks be links instead of pictures? (and reblogs contain pictures?)

So basically I got mad that @top-fictional-psychotic-woman was an "evil fictional woman bracket", but instead of annoying the mod, I went "huh, mentally ill characters sounds like a good first tournament".

The rules of the tournament goes as follows:

The character must be mentally ill in some way, be it personality disorder, psychotic disorder, depression, anxiety, really bad trauma, etc.

Headcanons and word-of-author are 100% allowed (rarely characters admit being mentally ill on screen so...)

The character can be villainous, but I would prefer if they weren't.

If the character is a villain, you have to explain why they're mentally ill besides "they're a villain" or "they look crazy". Example: Most versions of Joker wouldn't be allowed since he isn't mentally ill in them as far as I know, but the 2019 movie version would because his mental illness isn't his violence and murders, is his hallucinations that he's dating that neighbor that takes the elevator with him.

You can submit multiple characters as a group if they're already a group in the source. Example: the Literature Club from Doki Doki Literature Club or Doctor Palomero's patients from the Spanish movie Toc Toc (watch Toc Toc, it's such a funny movie).

There's no restrictions on what fandom the character is from. You can submit characters from MCYT, Attack On Titan, hell even Adam Sandler movies if you want to, despite how much I don't like those movies.

No real people please, unless it's a fictionalized version of that person. Example: real life Van Gogh wouldn't be allowed, but Van Gogh from that Doctor Who episode would.

Feel free to send propaganda as asks or reblogs (though send it in the post instead of the tags), but I will only reblog propaganda uplifting a character, not bad mouthing other characters. If you're consistently negative about any character in the bracket, you will be blocked.

Please don't bring up discourse like "that character is actually really problematic". Do you know how short this bracket would be if there was only clean, advertiser-friendly depictions of mental illness here?
