Tumblr media
There’s a popular phrase which most people could relate to and it goes like so; ‘People often come and go in your life, but the right ones will always stay’.
Throughout your whole life, you’ve had many friends. But at the end of the day, not many stayed. You can literally count with your fingers the amount of friends you had left who were the really close ones. And of all the close friends you had left, one of them meant the world to you. Nobody could ever replace him and nobody could ever make you feel the way he does.
You met him back in kindergarten when you were both at the age of 5. You were in the second form class, he was in the first form class. Everyday, you would only see him during play time because that is where both your classes would be brought to the playroom a few doors down from your classroom for an hour. Usually, you never liked to mingle or make new friends outside of your class simply because you’re a timid little girl. However, on that one unfortunate day is when you first interacted with him.
It was a Tuesday afternoon, where your teachers were preparing to bring you to the playroom. You were partnered with your best friend Mikayla for the short walk. When you made it to the playroom, the students from the other class were already there which means your class made it there just a tad later than them. Once you were all given the permission to go inside and play around for an hour, you began to head towards the slide with Mikayla. At one point, you were playing catch with her when you accidentally slipped and fell.
Hitting your chin onto the foam mat with a strong impact which left you crying. Not long after, a teacher came and carefully brought you to the side as she then hugged you to calm you down. She was sitting on the ground with you in her lap, burying your face in her shoulder while you cried. She rubbed your back soothingly as she said comforting words to you. Just then, you felt someone gently pat your head so you lifted your head up. That’s when you locked eyes with a boy with sparkly eyes. He looked concerned but then he smiled at you.
You held eye contact with him for a while as he gently patted your back to comfort you. Your teacher then asked if you had any injuries, she checked your mouth to see if you accidentally chipped a tooth or bit your lip or what not but it seemed like none of that happened. So she told you to sit here and rest if you wanted to, in which you agreed.
She got up to monitor the other kids while you sat there wiping your tears away. The boy from earlier sat down next to you as he flashes you an adorable smile.
“Is it still painful?” He asked.
“A little.” You quietly said and he nodded.
“My name is Chris. What is your name?”
“My name is Y/N.”
“Let’s be friends.” He said so you smiled. And that was the start of your friendship with him.
As the years go by, you went to the same schools which you also ended up being classmates through the entire years of school. Chris had many friends growing up but some of them come and go. On the other hand, you are never going anywhere and he won’t let you. The sad thing was, on the day of your high school graduation, he told you that he was leaving the country to go study in an overseas college which you dreaded so much.
You and Chris were like two peas in a pod.
Wherever one goes, the other will follow.
So to hear that he would be thousands of miles away, made you feel sad and uneasy. He told you that he will keep in touch with you every single day as if he never left but deep down, you knew it felt different.
Nevertheless, you weren’t going to stop him from going just because you want him close to you all the time. Which is why when he was supposed to leave, you sent him off at the airport together with your family and his. You promised him that you will look after his parents, Hannah, Lucas and Berry while he’s gone which he very much appreciates. After he had entered the departure hall and had gone further in, you sighed as his mother came over to give you a warm hug. She comforts you telling you that it was okay. You thanked her genuinely, only for Hannah to speak up.
“Since my older brother’s gone now, does that mean you’re my new older sister to replace him?” She asks cheekily, making you laugh.
“I’d love to.” You said as they all laughed.
Years soon went by and you were happy in college. Although you do still keep in contact with Chris every week, it wasn’t a secret that you miss him harder with every day that passes by.
Despite him being miles and miles away, you still keep him updated about almost everything that’s going on in your life. From school to friends to activities and even to dating and hookups. He would also tell you things that are happening in his life whenever you would facetime or even through texts. It’s interesting to hear how similar yet also different your lives were in both countries.
It’s been 4 years since you last saw him in person and today was the day you would be graduating from college. Your parents came down for your graduation ceremony as guests with the tickets you got for them so that they could enter the hall. The whole ceremony went perfectly as you collected your certificate on stage without embarrassing yourself. After the whole ceremony was over, it was time to leave the hall either for the buffet, for photo taking with your family and friends or to head home.
You met up with your family as they brought you to a corner where it wasn’t too crowded. Some of your friends came down to give you flowers and celebrate your graduation together which was really sweet. You were just taking pictures with your best friend as your younger brother was your photographer when someone tapped your shoulder. You turned around thinking it was a random student or a stranger but you were wrong. As soon as you turn around, your smile drops and you freeze from an immense amount of shock.
Standing in front of you now was Chris.
Who was wearing a white button down shirt, denim jeans and a pair of sneakers. He grins at you whilst holding a bouquet of your favourite blue roses with baby's breath flowers around it.
“Hey.” He chuckles adorably and you seem to have lost your words.
“Is it really you?” You asked in denial, making him laugh.
“Do you wanna check if I’m real?” He laughs again. This time, you bent down to put everything down on the ground before throwing yourself on him. Your arms wrapped around his shoulders while you buried your face in his neck. Chris laughs at your reaction but still wraps his arms around your waist and pulls you closer to him. You started tearing up and he felt it.
“Oi! Stop crying! You’re gonna ruin your pretty makeup!” Chris teasingly raises his voice at you as he pulls away. Everyone around you laughed at how funny and cute you were. Chris then took the tissue that your mother held for him to take as he wipes your tears away.
After a few more minutes, you finally took pictures with him for memories of your graduation. Once everything was settled, you thanked your friends for coming and they congratulated you once again before leaving. Meanwhile, Chris stayed upon getting an invite from your parents to go grab some dinner with your family which he agreed to. As you all began to walk out of the place, you walked with Chris behind your family. You turned to get a good look at him and he laughed.
“What? You still can’t believe I’m here?” He asks.
“Uh? Duh! You told me you couldn’t come to my graduation because of your own graduation!” You scolded him as you gently punched his arm.
“Well obviously I had to lie? I didn’t wanna ruin my surprise!” He said casually, earning a scoff from you.
“Kudos to you for pulling it off then.” You smiled at him as he ruffled your hair playfully. Dinner was nice and he told your family about his plans now that he’s graduated college. He said that he’ll be moving back here in a month's time and so you got happy.
And that was exactly what he did.
As each year went by, your friendship with Chris kept growing stronger and stronger now that he’s physically back here with you. Every guy you went on a date with, could never reach your expectations simply because of how high your best friend has set the bar for you. From a certain perspective, it might seem ridiculous and overrated. But on some perspective, it was set on a level where you realised that that is how you deserve to be treated. With the past dates and failed relationships you’ve had over the last decade, it made you realise how low and shitty those guys have ever made you feel.
It even got to a point where you were giving up on finding someone who could barely treat you right. Until that one night where you came to Chris’ apartment door crying after your boyfriend of 2 years broke up with you when you found him cheating on you.
He didn’t expect to see you there but he knew you needed him at that moment. So instead of letting you cry and calm down on your own, he brought you to his room and led you to his bed. He laid with you in bed, his blanket covering both your bodies as you cried onto his chest and he comfortingly caressed your head. You took at least 10 minutes to finally stop crying and calm down but he was so patient with you. Ever since then, you stopped going on dates to avoid getting your heart broken again. And all this time, Chris was right there next to you.
It’s been months since your break up and you’ve healed from it, not to mention moved on.
It was a Friday evening and Chris asked if you wanted to hang out at his place. You agreed easily to it considering he was your best friend.
When you arrived at his apartment, he greeted you at the door with just a cosy pair of sweatpants. You’ve seen him shirtless a couple times so it’s pretty normal for you by now. The only problem is, you find it harder and harder to keep your emotions hidden every single time mainly because of how much he’s changed over the years.
Mind you, this was the same Christopher who comforted you when you fell on your chin in preschool. So when he caught you glancing down at his abs briefly, he smirked teasingly whilst saying, “Do you like what you see?”
“Ew! Shut up!” You laughed, shoving his shoulders lightly and he chuckled.
“Oh what? You’re shy now?” He asked teasingly which made you scowl at him.
“Christopher Bahng, I swear-”
“Okay! Okay, I’ll stop.” He says with a cheeky smile. You rolled your eyes at him but the smile growing on your face, quickly betrayed you.
You hung out with him that night, quickly losing track of time even though you weren’t really doing anything significant other than watching movies, chatting, gossiping and snacking. It was already a quarter past midnight but you weren’t planning to head home anytime soon. He was sitting next to you, scrolling through the movies on netflix when an idea struck you.
“Hey, are you tired?” You asked.
“Nope. Why?” Chris asks without turning to you.
“Wanna go for a little walk?” You asked as he finally turned to you with an amused smile on his face.
“You wanna go outside? Where do you wanna go though?” He asks.
“I don’t know.”
The room fell silent as you both thought of a place to go. Just then, he suggests something.
“How about we’ll drive around and see where that leads us. Then we’ll stop somewhere nice where we can chill?”
“Sounds good. What time shall we go?”
“Do you wanna go now or a little later?” He looks at you softly, melting you in your seat.
“Later. When there’s lesser people outside.” You said and he laughed. Nevertheless, he agrees and waits with you.
An hour had passed and you were both preparing to leave. Chris had changed into a white shirt, a black oversized bomber jacket, denim jeans and a pair of sneakers. He also recently dyed his hair to a strawberry brunette colour. He lent you one of his oversized jackets which was too big on you but you loved it. Especially since it’s his but of course you couldn’t tell him that. You zipped it up to just below your chest while one side hangs loosely off your shoulder. Once you were both ready, you left his apartment as he chats with you about random topics.
The drive was basically aimless with no particular destination. After about half an hour of driving, you reached a part of the town which was empty and quiet.
All the street shops were closed and there were no cars on the road aside from the few that were parked along the side. There weren't any drunk or sober humans lingering around the street either, which was great. So he parked at one of the lots before you both left the vehicle.
“We have the whole street to ourselves.” You giggled while he smiled at you.
“What should we do?"
“Let’s capture these moments. I wanna be able to look back on it on days when I feel down or empty…” You said as you took your phone out and clicked the camera app.
This was normal to him because you do this every time you hang out with him or go on spontaneous trips like this. You loved to capture random moments like this so you could look back on them for the memories you shared with him.
You turned on the front camera video and clicked the record button before setting it up against one of the shop’s window ledges to work as a phone stand. Once it was standing securely, you turned to see him standing a few feet behind you with his hand tucked in his hoodie pockets. Chris was just staring at you quietly with a fond smile on his face. Since he didn’t seem like he was gonna move anytime soon, you giggled as you leaped forward. He opened his arms just in time to catch you.
You wrapped your arms around his neck while he hugged your waist. He laughed at you, saying you’re funny in which you thanked him. Just then, he suggested a challenge.
You will both go to the end of the street where the traffic light is and you will both have to run towards the phone. You easily agreed to it and he was excited. When you made it to the end of the street and you could sort of see yourself on your phone screen, you turned to him to ask a few more questions.
“Loser has to do what?” You asked.
“The loser has to eat a whole bowl of spicy noodles.”
“Damn, you make me wanna lose although I hate spicy food.” Just then, he tapped your shoulder and quickly took off running.
“Race you there!” He sprints down the pathway, leaving you behind.
“Hey! You cheated!” You screamed in between laughs but soon sprinted down.
You tried to catch up to him as best as you could. Once you managed to run past him, Chris laughed. You were just a few metres away from the finish line when he grabbed your jacket to pull you back. This caused you to stumble back, only to crash into his chest while he back hugs you.
Both your laughters echoed around the empty street, feeling him wrap his arms securely around you.
“Christopher! Let go!” You giggled but he refused to let go of you.
"No. That way no one loses.” You laughed in his arms feeling him bury his face in your neck, smiling against your skin. He then guided you towards his car before he leaned against the door.
You took this chance to turn around and face him. When you did, Chris still had his hands on your waist while you gently slid your hands up his chest to rest your wrists on top of his shoulders. Neither of you talked but the atmosphere seemed warm and cosy between the two of you.
You then caught his eyes glancing down at your lips. This made the butterflies in your stomach erupt. Chris then looks back up into your eyes and his lips curled into a soft smile.
“I’m never letting go.”
“We can’t stay out here all night, Chris.” You giggled, only for him to shake his head. You get confused, tilting your head to the side slightly and he chuckles.
So he explained to you, “I’ve known you ever since the day when we were kids. Nothing in the world could beat our little special bond. Every moment with you is a precious memory and I’m lucky that you’re my best friend… So, I’m never letting you go…” Chris says with so much fondness in his voice that it makes you melt against his arms.
You smiled at him, feeling like your heart was fluttering in your chest.
“Chris…” His name slips past your tongue in a whisper which he heard loud and clear. Your hands were now resting on his stomach while he reached up to hold your face with both his hands gently. He caressed your cheeks with his thumbs, never breaking eye contact with you.
Without any words exchanged, he carefully leans his head forward slowly to see if you would pull away. When he was just an inch away and he realises that you weren’t pulling away, Chris finally closes the gap fully.
He gently kisses on you the lips, feeling his soft lips touch yours.
You wrap your hands around his waist as you feel his lips curl into a smile against yours.
After a few seconds, you pulled back for a breath but kept his face close to yours. His lips hovered over yours as he kissed you again. You giggled into the kiss, earning a smile from him when he pulled away.
“What?” He asks but you gently pat your hands against his chest while he drops his hands to your waist.
“Nothing. You’re just so adorable…” You said, making him blush.
“I love you, Y/N… I love you for eternity.” Chris says, making you hug him.
You felt him wrap his arms around your waist securely, making you feel safe.
“I love you for eternity too, Chris.” You whispered against his shoulder. You then felt him kiss your neck before you pulled away to look at his face. He was smiling softly at you as you took this chance to kiss him again. A couple of seconds later, he whispers over your lips, “Let’s get your phone and head back home.” You nodded and did as he said.
Once you took your phone back, you both went in the car and he drove you back to his place.
The drive back home was filled with a peaceful silence as you tangled your fingers together with his hand in your lap. When you made it back to his apartment, you both took warm showers separately before changing into his comfortable clothes for sleeping. You climbed into bed next to him, only for Chris to pull you in. You laid your head on his chest while one of your legs rested in between his. He hugs you close, making sure you are safe in his arms. Right before you fall asleep, Chris reaches up to tilt your chin up using his fingers and soon kisses your lips softly.
“Goodnight, my love.”
“Goodnight… I love you…” You whispered tiredly as he smiled down at you before kissing you again.
“I love you more.” His gentle voice says and soon, you both fell asleep.

realistic regression board︵☆
Tumblr media Tumblr media
open for my yappin' lol
usually, I make boards because I like to think about how awesome it'd be to have the money/space for all of the cute stuff !!! but I end up getting frustrated that I don't. you see these amazing regression rooms online; complete with drawers full of custom pacifiers, onesies and botttles, a play mat, a canopy, walls covered in toys and plushies. jealousy isn't quite the right term, more like, invalidation ? like, these people are SO much better at pretending to be a kid than I am.
but of course, that isn't true at all ! the reality is, those people spent SO much time and effort into their space ! I will get there eventually, it just takes patience. when they were my age, they felt exactly the same way I do. I'm still a kid. I can't afford gear and I still live with my family. of course my room doesn't look like a toddler's playroom, lol
with that, I decided to make a board to show what average regression looks like. most people can't afford or can't have any gear. and their regression is still completely valid !!! agere looks different for everybody. it isn't about the aesthetics, it's about you feeling comfortable and safe !!!
I based this off of my regression. and honestly looking at it all together like this, it makes me feel really safe 😭. I'm super grateful for the gear that I do have. and I'm super excited to keep collecting. maybe one day I will have my own nursery !!!
I hope this comes across the right way 🥲

It's not often that you act up, because you know better. When you do it's because something upsets you. Like today, Rafe had been running some errands all week, barely at home, and when he was he had to leave abruptly some time later.
You were grumpy. He said he would be here when you'd wake up from your nap, but he wasn't. You tried to light up your mood by coloring for a while and it did work, but you just missed Rafe.
In the evening you were still occupied in your designed playroom when he came back home, heavy and tired footsteps making their way to your room.
Usually, you would have run in his arms the second he opened the front door but you just didn't feel like it today, angrily filling out a page in your color book when you heard him approach you from behind, not bothering to turn around and greet him.
"Hey, baby." You did melt a little when he kissed the top of your head. "Come, it's time for your bath."
He was about to go and run you said bath, stopping dead in his tracks when he heard you say something he's not used to from you at all.
"No."
His head whipped back to face the back of your head. "Excuse me?"
"'M not finished yet- Hey!" you exclaimed when he took the crayon from your hand, finally turning to face him.
He was looking at you sternly and you knew it wasn't the brightest idea to rile him up more, but he wasn't the only one upset here.
"Wanna try that again?" he asked raising an eyebrow at you.
You just turned your back to him again, grabbed another random crayon, and continued to color.
Rafe chuckled crouching right behind you to whisper in your ear. "I'll give you exactly three seconds to-"
"No." you interrupted him, big mistake.
You're suddenly hoisted up by your armpits and whined when you realized where he's carrying you. Brat corner.
He sat you down on the mat, facing the wall. You pout, you didn't really know what you expected by telling him no but you definitely didn't want to sit here now.
Turning your head you watched him put away your books and crayons. He caught you looking and motioned with his finger for you to face the wall again.
All you wanted was to cuddle with him after not being able to the whole day and now you're sat in the corner after being bratty. All the emotions you felt right now were too much and you started to tear up from frustration, sniffling quietly.
The minutes went by and you didn't even know if Rafe was still in the room with you but didn't dare to turn your head.
"Alright, times up," he said and sighed when you didn't move, shaking your head while sobbing.
You were bad. Rafey doesn't like bad girls. Bad girls don't deserve to be cuddled.
"Baby, come here, please." he tried again and this time you stood up, shuffling your way over to where he was seated on your queen-sized bed, standing between his legs as you fiddled with the hem of your shirt.
His hands were resting on your hips, frowning a little at seeing the dried-up tears on your cheeks. "Wanna tell me what got my princess all moody?"
"Miss you..." you sniffled in response, placing your hands on his shoulders to get comfortable on his lap, burying your face in his chest.
"I'm right here," he assured you but you shook your head.
"Were busy all week and...you said you will be here after my nap..." you mumbled and Rafe grimaced, mentally cursing at himself. "M sorry I was bad-"
"No." he pulled you back slightly to look at you. "I'm sorry. I didn't realize how much I actually neglected you the last few days. I promise it'll not happen again."
There was silence for a moment until you held your pinky up to him.
"Pinky pwomise?"
He smiled at you, lacing his pinky with yours. "Pinky promise," he repeated, planting a kiss on your forehead as you snuggled more into him again. "My good girl..."
He held you like that for some time, rubbing your back occasionally and rocking a little back and forth with you.
When it seemed you calmed down he stood up, carrying you to the bathroom were a warm bubble bath was already waiting for you.

Forever Yours | Mat Barzal
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: when Mat’s words send the argument too far it sends him into a day of true self reflection.
request: yes/no
warnings: swearing.
word count: 3.41k
authors note: this request was really good and I tried to fulfil it as well as I could and do that little bit more for it too. It took my an embarrassingly long amount of time to write this but I think that it was all worth it in the end. I really did love this one so I’m hoping that you guys did too, so to those of you who do read it all, thank you.
Tumblr media
Today was one of those days.
The one where you want to crawl into a ball and hope that if you shut your eyes tight enough you’ll wake up and realise that it was all just some bad dream.
Zack your youngest has been clinging to your side as he is going through teething. Then the twins who were weeks away from turning four were having the worst time of their lives. Whilst Oscar lost his teddy bear to the family lab Marley, Marcus only wanted his father who was far too busy preparing for the end of the season’s playoff run.
And that brings that to why you were having a bad day.
The crockpot decided to turn off at some point during the day so you no longer had dinner cooking, Amazon delivered your package that had the boys presents in it to the scary neighbour. The boys had you chasing them around publix because they kept on running away. And to top it all off you had dirty laundry that could have been coming out of your ears you had so much to do.
Which is why you were honestly giving yourself a pat on the back for getting Zack to sleep before Mat came home “daddy!” Marcus cheered running over to his father who came in the front door.
You wiped your hands on the kitchen cloth that was in front of you before you turned to where the noise had been coming from “hi love.” You yawned as your eyes grew heavy when the lack of sleep that you had began to catch up with you.
Mat furrowed his brows as he saw that the dinner table wasn’t even set yet “boys already eat?” He asked giving you a side hug.
A quick shake of your head had him scoffing “what the hell was so important today that you couldn’t get dinner ready for five thirty?” The hockey player had a rough day where he couldn’t seem to score a single goal during practice today and he brought that negative mood home with him “boys why don’t you go to the playroom?” You asked the twins sending their father a glare “we are not doing this with them here.” You warned as the boys ran off unaware of the glaring match that their parents held.
Mat crossed his arms as he tapped his foot against the floor “you haven’t answered my question yet.” His voice was condescending as it made you feel sick to your stomach.
You sighed “day just got really out of hand.” You mumbled picking up that he wasn’t going to be interested in hearing about what your sons had gotten up to today.
From the lost teeth to breakdowns in the grocery store, if you could name it the event probably happened.
Yet your words didn’t harbour the response you hoped “I don’t go to work for you guys to sit on your fucking asses all day!” Mat hadn’t noted when his frustration on his day morphed into frustration about you.
At this point one of the twins began crying “sitting on my ass?” You let out a laugh “do you know how hard it is to raise these boys myself?” You crossed your arms. You loved your kids but you were getting spread far too thin to keep yourself afloat.
Now you had both clearly gone too far “from where I stand it’s a pretty easy job.” Those words came with a slash of a knife that couldn’t exactly be taken back.
The look on your face in that very moment was one that Mat hadn’t seen before “if you think it is so easy then you take the kids tomorrow.” You proposed with a smirk “what are you gonna do?” Mat couldn’t believe that he was entertaining your thoughts.
Quickly the penny dropped in your head “the girls haven’t seen me in months. They want to go to a spa.” You raised your eyebrows with a smirk “deal.” Mat nodded his head as he reached his hand out to shake yours.
Part of you found it sad to believe that this was what you had gotten to “where are you going?” Mat wrapped his hand around your arm as you went to move away “to deal with our crying child because it clearly seems that you aren’t planning on it!” You shot back clenching your fists as you walked into the playroom.
Whilst you spent the night taking care of your boys tucking them in Mat was on the phone to Anthony debriefing the events that had happened “you were an ass dude.” The younger boy rolled his eyes as he rubbed his hand along his jaw.
Years ago you would have been Anthony’s dream girl, you were Anthony’s dream girl but when Mat won you the younger boy took his defeat gracefully “look I can’t exactly go and tell her I fucked up now?” Mat grumbled as he stared at the ring in the box.
Six years of dating and three kids to show for it yet no ring on your finger, or at least not yet “sorry dude.” Anthony apologised as he shook his head “you have to lie in the bed that you have made.” He shrugged seeing Mat’s face soaked in regret.
So Mat got to watch as he realised the consequences of his actions “I will say that she does love you just as much as she loves those kids.” As godfather to all three Tito could see just how much all three of those kids meant to you “so if y/n is y/n then I suggest you start looking for the checklists.” The comment about your organisation skills made both boys laugh.
Getting to watch you craft the step by step lists that you loved so much made Mat’s days “I should get going.” The Islander player sighed seeing the bedroom door open as your body appeared.
You sent Mat an awkward smile as you watched him throw his phone to the side “hey-” Mat spoke up as you went to your closet.
Pulling random items of clothing together you tried to ignore your boyfriend “the boys are down.” You announced grabbing onto some old band tee that you had found in your closet “so I’m going to sleep in the guest room tonight.” Mat wanted to argue, he wanted you in his bed because as much as you so badly wanted him to feel a of the ounce of the stress that you had felt dealing with the rough parts of the single parenting lifestyle this week.
But instead he watched on “you sure?” Were the only words that he could find in his mind that his mouth would let out.
It was a far cry from the fight you wanted him to put up “I thought I’d been sleeping with a guy who wanted to see me today, but since that isn’t the case I’d rather be alone.” You sent Mat a nod feeling too tired to cause a fight tonight.
The guest bedroom was bleak in comparison to your bedroom. The walls were decorated yet the love that had been soaked into the walls of your room hadn’t been carried to the very room that you sat in.
Playing with the beaten up hem of the band tee you had grabbed only now realising the memories that had woven themselves into the stitched fabric.
This was more than just a simple shirt to you and Mat. This was the first shirt you stole from him, the shirt you were in when he asked you to move in. The one when you went into labour with Zack. If something could capture your relationship. It was that shirt.
ABBA blared through the speakers of your apartment as you danced to it. Mat had been on a road trip for the last two weeks and you being heavily pregnant you were in nothing but Mat’s shirt.
The boy ended up arriving quietly as you couldn’t hear him over the sound of the music “holy shit!” You clutched at your chest as you locked eyes with the boy “I was just starting to enjoy that show.” Mat frowned as he pushed off from against the doorframe.
His hands ran over your stomach as he smiled “missed you.” His words were soft as he kissed your lips.
You looked like a sight for sore eyes in his shirt “missed you too.” You smiled as you ran your finger over his cheek.
So you couldn’t help it when you stared in the mirror and watched on as tears welled in your eyes making you unlock your phone “momma.” You sobbed as the call connected “Mat and I had a fight.”
When Mat woke up that next morning the mix of the irritated looks on the twins faces and the lack of your presence on the other side of the bed served as a reminder for the events of the previous night.
Oscar was the first to speak up “we’re gonna be late.” He pointed to the clock making Mat’s eyes go wide “where is your mom?” Mat groaned rubbing his eyes as the sleep caught in his fingers.
Marcus pulled the note out of his pyjama shorts pocket “momma gave this to me.” Of course you had gone and kissed the boys before you left to head to New Jersey for the day.
𝒯𝓌𝒾𝓃𝓈 𝒽𝒶𝓋𝑒 𝓉𝑜 𝒷𝑒 𝓅𝒾𝒸𝓀𝑒𝒹 𝓊𝓅 𝒻𝓇𝑜𝓂 𝓃𝓊𝓇𝓈𝑒𝓇𝓎 𝒶𝓉 𝒷𝑒𝒻𝑜𝓇𝑒 𝓈𝑜𝒸𝒸𝑒𝓇 𝒶𝓉 𝓉𝒽𝓇𝑒𝑒 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒵𝒶𝒸𝓀 𝒽𝒶𝓈 𝒶 𝒹𝑜𝒸𝓉𝑜𝓇𝓈 𝒶𝓅𝓅𝑜𝒾𝓃𝓉𝓂𝑒𝓃𝓉 𝒶𝓉 𝑜𝓃𝑒. 𝒟𝑜𝓃’𝓉 𝓁𝑒𝓉 𝓎𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝓅𝓇𝒾𝒹𝑒 𝑔𝑒𝓉 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒷𝑒𝓈𝓉 𝑜𝒻 𝓎𝑜𝓊, 𝒾𝒻 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓃𝑒𝑒𝒹 𝓂𝑒 𝒸𝒶𝓁𝓁 𝓂𝑒.
Getting both boys dressed was one thing but almost forgetting that Zack was asleep in his cot truly took the cake “forgetting someone?” Oscar furrowed his eyebrows as he pointed at the picture of the three boys you had taken for Christmas “fuck me!” Mat pinched the bridge of his nose “swear jar!” The twins spoke at the same time as they watched Mat run back upstairs.
Mat had realised that he had truly screwed up when the boys didn’t even say goodbye to him when they left “tell mom we miss her.” Oscar mumbled as he let the car door shut with a slam behind him.
Zack was peacefully playing with the toy that Marcus had dropped into his hands “you okay buddy?” Mat looked into the rear view mirror to see that his youngest was now looking back at him “mama!” Zack cooed as he let out a giggle “I know, I miss her too.” The hockey player let out a sigh as he tapped his fingers against the steering wheel in front of him.
You let the warm water of the jacuzzi calm your nerves as you peacefully sipped on your mimosa “so what did Mat do?” Maisie asked as she cocked her head.
It pulled your attention away from the bubbling water “what makes you think that he did something?” You shot back ignoring her smirk “it’s been three years since we last went to the spa. What has your husband done to bring you back here?” Before kids the spa was a bimonthly tradition for the two of you.
Maisie sighed as you kept quiet “boyfriend and we fought.” You corrected her looking down at your bare ring finger “tell me what happened.” She reached out to hold your hand “basically-” you were cut off by the sound of your phone ringing “hello?” You asked quickly answering it.
“I know you said that Mr Barzal was picking the boys up today but the boys are still here.” It was forty minutes after the boys were meant to be picked up “I’ll be right there.” You cursed the universe as you got up.
Water ran down your body “Mat forgot the twins at school.” You explained shaking your head “I’m sorry but I have to-” stress made your cheeks turn red “go, I’ll come with.” Maisie didn’t even have you finish talking before she followed you out of there.
Mat bounced Zack in his arms as they walked back to the car “what does your mom want?” Mat furrowed his eyebrows to see that you had sent him twenty missed calls.
You didn’t let him get a word in “Mat you have done some stupid things in your life but this truly takes the cake.” You spat pinching the bridge of your nose.
Thankfully for you the twins always assumed that you were the one meant to pick them up so they didn’t realise that they had been forgotten about “hi dad!” Marcus giggled from the back of the car “shit.” Mat slapped his hand over his mouth “swear jar!”
Mat knew he had screwed up once more “Zack had a good check up and that ear infection is gone!” The hockey player let out an awkward sigh as he watched Zack babble on to himself.
You wanted to yell at him but for now you were going to have to remain quiet “we can talk about it at home.” You hung up before Mat could say anything more to you “I think momma’s gonna kill me.” Mat groaned shaking his head as he placed Zack into his car seat.
Maisie had kept you calm until she left wanting to give you a moment to gather your thoughts before Mat came home “mama!” Zack cooed as the front door opened.
He was happy on his fathers hip until he saw you “he didn’t take his bottle today.” Mat explained as Zack reached out to grab you “it’s because he’s teething.” You explained handing your baby the teething toy you had grabbed when you heard the door open.
That served as another reminder to Mat about your strengths as a parent “where are the boys?” Guilt began to consume him as he thought about what he had done to the twins “playroom.” You tilted your head in their direction.
Mat sent you a nod “can we talk?” He pleaded wanting everything to go back to how it was.
All of his teammates had sent him messages expressing how they were on your side because Mat fucked up “you go talk to your sons, I’m gonna feed this one.” You shook your head not agreeing with him “then we can talk.” You sent him a soft smile before you walked upstairs wanting to feed Zack in peace.
The twins were forever on your side no matter how much they missed their father “you know mom told Nana.” Oscar knew about his grandmother’s distaste for Mat. She always did believe that her daughter deserved more than a hockey player who was keeping her in New York.
Mat frowned at the news “I’m sorry I’ve been really shitty to you both.” He apologised watching the twins look at each other with a smirk “I know I’ll put another dollar in the swear jar.” He added in a predictable tone.
The twins got up when their father dropped his head to stare at the ground as he crouched in front of them “I think we can let you get a free pass.” Oscar announced wrapping his arms around Mat “but only if you go apologise to mom.” Marcus added on replicating his brothers actions “yeah I miss moms waffles.” Oscars complaints brought a smile to Mat’s face.
It made him laugh as he nodded “I think I can find a way to make sure you guys get those.” The boys let out a cheer at the news.
Zack had fallen asleep the moment he finished eating “can we talk?” Mat asked as he knocked on the door to see you sat on the bed as you folded laundry.
Your absolute definition of the worst thing on the planet.
Mat laughed as he watched you scrunched up your face reacting to how he folded clothes “you got something you want to say?” Mat raised his eyebrows as he placed his boxers on the table in front of him.
You sighed “you’re doing it wrong.” You shook your head as you reached out to fix what he had done.
It made him smirk “what?” You looked for an answer to his amused expression “as someone who hates folding laundry you are doing a pretty good job.” Mat pointed out as he crossed his arms.
Your mouth formed an o as you let out a gasp “cause you’re doing it wrong!” You threw his boxers at him “want to show me the right way to do it?” You raised your eyebrows as you heard his offer “if that was to get me into your bed once more-” your relationship with the boy had only been going on for a few weeks but you had been friends for years.
The hockey player grabbed your hand as he pulled you onto his lap “then I’d have to try a lot less to be a lot more successful.” Mat brushed his hand along your cheek “I’d like to see you try.” You let out a squeal when he picked you up and carried you to his bedroom.
When Mat’s body weight pressed against the mattress it pulled you away from that memory “I don’t know how you do that everyday.” Mat blurted out as he looked at you.
It brought you some comfort hearing his apology “you are incredible and I was stupid.” The hockey player continued as he ran his fingers through his hair “that’s one way to put it.” You let out a soft laugh “I’m so sorry for everything I did.” Mat reached out to grab your hand.
You smiled at the contact “thank you.” Your voice was soft as you sent him a smile “and I promise I will never leave our children at school again.” His words made you laugh “I’m not letting you live that one down.” You shook your head as he grinned “thought as much.”
Both of you remained silent for a moment just enjoying the peace “I appreciate your apology.” You mumbled fiddling with your nails.
Mat stopped you as he forced your fingers down to the mattress “I have something I need to tell you.” The hockey player announced reaching over to his bedside cabinet.
You shook your head stopping him “I have something to say first.” Amit the chaos that was yesterday you failed to tell Mat the news “you go first then.” He let the box drop into his drawer as he waited to hear what it was that you had to say.
He smiled as he watched you run into the bathroom with a smile on your face “Zack was meant to wear this really cute onesie that I ordered when I thought about this but-” Mat cut you off as he got up to follow you “just spit it out.” His voice was soft as he sent you a thumbs up.
You showed him the pregnancy test as you chewed at the inside of your cheek “say something?” Somehow you were more nervous about showing it to him now than you had for any of the other three pregnancies combined.
Mat pursed his lips together “I was going to say this to you in a few minutes but I’ll do it now.” A moment truly hadn’t felt better than this one did.
He dropped to his knee “I can’t see my life without you and today cemented that more than any other did.” Mat confessed making you smile “the ring is in my drawer-” he rambled making you grin “just ask me so I can say yes you big goof!” You kneeled as you smiled locking your hand with his.
“Marry me so I can spend the rest of my life with you?”
Eight and a half months later
Mat and you enjoyed the last moments of silence as you stared at your newest edition of the family.
But of course the moment had to end eventually when Anthony opened the door with the twins and Zack in tow “is my goddaughter everything we thought she would be and more?” Anthony smiled as he carried a bouquet in his hands as he pressed a kiss to your temple.
Mat nodded crouching down to show the boys their sister “couldn’t have said it better myself.” He nodded knowing that this was going to be the child that was truly going to wrap everyone around her finger.

Can part 3 come out soon!!!
Patience is a Virtue
Amber, a little girl in her regressed, diapered state, was fidgeting in the middle of the plush playroom, her eyes wide and eager as she watched her caregiver, Miss Jenna, typing away at her laptop. The walls were adorned with bright, cheerful decals—sunshines, rainbows, and playful kittens that seemed to dance in the afternoon light streaming through the window. Amber’s small hands played with the hem of her pastel pink dress, the fabric brushing against the thick, crinkly diaper underneath.
“Miss Jenna!” Amber called out, her voice a mix of excitement and impatience. “Is the story done? Is it? When can I hear it?”
Miss Jenna paused her typing, her glasses slipping slightly down her nose as she turned to face Amber. Her smile was gentle, yet there was a hint of a tease in her tone. “Patience, little one. A good story takes time to weave. Remember, we talked about waiting nicely and asking properly?”
Amber pouted, her lower lip jutting out. “But I wanna hear it now!” Her foot stamped lightly on the soft carpet, causing a slight rustling sound from her diaper, a reminder of her little status.
Miss Jenna’s eyes twinkled behind her glasses. “Hmm, it seems someone needs a little reminder on patience and manners. What do we say when we want something, Amber?”
The little girl fidgeted, her cheeks flushing a soft pink that matched her dress. “Please…” she mumbled, the word almost lost in the spacious room filled with toys and soft stuffed animals.
“And?” Miss Jenna prompted, closing her laptop with a soft click and focusing entirely on Amber.
“And… I will wait nicely,” Amber added, her voice stronger now, though still tinged with reluctance.
Miss Jenna nodded, pushing back her chair to stand. She walked over to where Amber was standing, her movements slow and deliberate. “Very good. But since you forgot earlier, I think a little punishment is in order, don’t you think?”
Amber’s eyes widened, a mix of nervousness and excitement fluttering through her. “punishment?”
"Let's start by getting you into a fresh diaper," Jenna said as she led Amber by the hand to the changing area. She laid out a soft, padded mat and had Amber lay down. “Today, we’re going to try something a little different, Amber. You see, the character in the story I’ve been working on finds herself in quite a unique situation—much like the one we’re going to explore right now.”
Amber, wrapped in curiosity, watched intently as Miss Jenna cleaned her up from the soggy diaper. The first diaper slid under her, snug and comforting, but when Miss Jenna began to prepare a second diaper, Amber's eyes widened in surprise.
"This is how the character in my story is dressed—double diapered for extra protection and to teach her a lesson in patience," Miss Jenna explained as she positioned the second diaper over the first, making sure each was snug and perfectly aligned. “And just like her, you’ll learn what it means to really wait.”
Once the double diapering was complete, Miss Jenna didn’t stop there. She retrieved a pair of locking plastic pants and explained their purpose as she fitted them over Amber’s now considerably bulkier padding. “In the story, the character needs to learn to ask for help and to wait patiently for it. These locking pants will help you remember that lesson too.”
Next came the padded mittens, which Miss Jenna slid over Amber’s hands. “And these are just like what the character wears to help her realize how important it is to depend on others sometimes. It’s all part of learning patience.”
Fully dressed in her new attire that mirrored the character from Miss Jenna’s story, Amber was guided back to the play area. The additional bulk between her legs made her waddle even more than normal, exactly the experience Miss Jenna intended to recreate from her story.
As you drink your milk, think about how waiting can sometimes lead to good things, like feeling all comfy and secure," Miss Jenna cooed, gently stroking Amber's hair.
Amber finished the bottle, her small cheeks flushed from the effort. As she swallowed the last drops, she felt a rumble in her tummy, a gentle but unmistakable reminder that the milk was filling her up more than usual. Just as she opened her mouth to speak, Miss Jenna placed a pacifier between her lips. With a gentle push, it settled into place, and then Jenna did something unexpected—she inflated the nipple of the pacifier, ensuring that Amber couldn’t easily remove it, nor could she articulate any words beyond muffled murmurs.
“There we go, my little one,” Miss Jenna said, her voice both soothing and authoritative: Amber’s eyes widened, her usual ability to express herself verbally taken away. She could only make soft, incoherent sounds as she tried to adjust to the feeling of the inflated pacifier filling her mouth. She squirmed slightly, feeling a pressure in her tummy.
Amber's discomfort grew as the pressure in her tummy escalated, a tangible, tightening sensation that made her wiggle and shift on the soft carpet. She tried to signal her distress to Miss Jenna, her eyes wide and pleading, but the inflated pacifier muffled her attempts at communication, reducing them to quiet, distressed whimpers.
The room was quiet, save for the soft clicking of Miss Jenna's keyboard as she returned to her work. Amber felt alone with her growing discomfort, the warm, playful room suddenly seeming too large and too empty. She shifted again, her movements more desperate, and then it happened—a soft, muffled sound as a small fart escaped into her thickly padded diaper. The sound was faint, almost imperceptible, but to Amber, it felt overwhelmingly loud and embarrassing.
Miss Jenna looked up from her laptop, a knowing smile curling the edges of her lips. It wasn't a smile of comfort or reassurance but rather one that hinted at a planned lesson Amber was about to learn thoroughly. "Just like the character in the story, my little one," Miss Jenna spoke calmly, her voice carrying across the room with an eerie softness. "She had to learn to wait, no matter what happened."
Amber's heart raced as she felt another wave of pressure. This time, her body’s resistance was futile; her sphincter gave in under the strain. She felt a warm, mushy mess begin to spread slowly in her diaper, the sensation both familiar and embarrassing. The bulk between her legs grew warmer and more substantial as the mess filled her diaper, starting to sag slightly.
Miss Jenna observed quietly for a moment, then stood and walked over to Amber. She knelt down beside the distressed girl, her hand lightly touching the back of Amber's diaper, confirming what had happened. "Yes, just like that," she noted clinically, her voice devoid of the usual warmth it carried during their playful times. "Now, the little in my story had to continue with her day, playing and sitting just like this until her Daddy was ready to change her. That’s going to be our rule today, too. You’ll learn to wait, Amber."
Amber looked up at Miss Jenna, her eyes brimming with tears, the reality of her situation setting in. Miss Jenna returned to her chair without another word, leaving Amber sitting there, feeling the weight and warmth of her poopy Pampers. The idea that she had to remain like this for hours until Miss Jenna decided it was time to change her was almost too much to bear.
As Miss Jenna resumed her typing, Amber tried to distract herself from her discomfort. She reached for a stuffed animal nearby, pulling it close and hugging it tightly. The plush toy offered little in the way of comfort, but it was a small solace in her uncomfortable situation.
PS: I love getting aks :P

sign the papers | mat & mama
Tumblr media
The house was awfully quiet when the kids were with Mat. The odd time when you kept Wyatt it was nice to have some company but she couldn’t talk or really understand anything yet.
You had called up Miles’ wife not long after the separation to ask her opinion on the split and a possible divorce. She was obviously concerned immediately but you explained what had happened and calmed her.
“sometimes marriages just run their course. we made five beautiful kids, we built a home, I just think me and mat want different things now”
The kids were confused, why there was now a daddy’s house and a mommy’s house. why they didn’t have movie night with their parents any longer.
Ivy tried listening to her parents when she was at home, listening while her dad cried on the phone to her grandma and her mom would stress out on the phone to her friends.
You had spoken to a lawyer, drafted up divorce papers, discussed financial settlements, custody of the kids.
When you saw Mat you had tried to mention it to him, softly. You knew how he felt about the whole thing.
You had managed to mention it when he dropped the kids back off, asking if he could come in and see Wyatt. You, of course, said yes.
You watched him come into the house, as if he’s never left it. He sat on the rocking chair in Wyatt’s nursery, rocking her to sleep and mumbling a soft story to her.
You watched them on the baby monitor, a soft smile as you listened to him talking to your baby.
“Hi sweet girl, hi meatball. I missed you, I’ve missed you so much”
You allowed them their time together while putting Ivy, Ryder and Bailey to sleep. When you’d both finished the night routine you met in the hallway, closing the opposing doors from one another.
“She asleep?” He asks about Ivy and you nod “out like a light”
He follows you down the stairs into the playroom where you begin cleaning up. Mat joins in, picking up stray toys the kids had thrown around.
“For being so little they make a massive mess” he jokes, breaking the silence.
You laugh “Yeah, they take after their dad I’m sure”
When the room is cleaned and tiny, you walk Mat to the door.
“Thanks for letting me put her to bed, it means a lot when I don’t have her-“
“I’m filing for divorce” you interrupted him.
You interrupted him telling you how much he appreciated his time with his daughter to tell him you were filing for divorce.
“Oh” is all he said
You nodded, biting your bottom lip “I just wanted to tell you before the papers came through in the mail”
He hums “So we’re not going to talk about this?”
“There’s nothing to talk about Mat”
He laughs, viciously “You kicked me out of our house and we haven’t spoken since I feel like there was definitely a conversation in there somewhere!”
“Mathew, you need to leave”
“Stop doing that!” He exclaims “Doing what?”
“Calling me Mathew and making me leave when there is the slightest inconvenience for you! I want to save our marriage, I want to save our family and you don’t seem to care”
You took a deep breath and replied “I stopped being able to care a long time ago, Mat. Please just go and sign the papers when they come in”
He didn’t want to fight any longer, he couldn’t fight with you anymore. Not when you were being selfish and never listening to his point of view. At the bottom line of it all, he loved you regardless.
So instead, he leaned down and kissed your forehead, while his hand supported the back of your head.
“I will always love you, y/n. from the moment I met you until the day I die, I will always love you with my entire heart and soul and if there’s ever one thing I know I got right in this world, it’s you. No matter what the paper says, you’ll always be my girl”
A tear rolls down your cheek and your hand grasps onto his wrist before you begin to sob “Mat-“
“Shh, it’s ok baby. It’s ok, I’ll sign the papers if that’s what you want, I’m not going to fight you anymore. I just needed you to know that regardless of us fighting, shouting and balling at one another, you are my world”
You shook your head at him, sniffling “Why are you being so nice to me?”
He shrugs “I only have a little while longer as a husband I might as well try being a good one”
You watched him pull out of the driveway and down the street, tears falling off your face while you sobbed quietly.
The following days, Mat had a roadie so you had the kids full time. You had officially accepted your role back as doctor for the devils next season so you were getting back into watching hockey.
The kids had requested Mathew’s game against the Kraken be on the tv so they could watch and while it was late you couldn’t say no.
So you sat with them, Ryder on your lap while your fingers carded through his hair while you watched the islanders play.
After the game, the press had announced a big press conference with the islanders. You didn’t think much of it, they’d won so it was probably just the dramatics.
You were tidying the couch pillows when you heard the tv
“Mat, Lou informed us you had an important announcement to make this evening?” A reporter asks.
Mat nods “Yes, thank you. I wanted to make this announcement here, in Seattle where I was playing when I was drafted by the Islanders organisation in 2015. My time on Long Island has been nothing short of amazing and I will always reflect on the relationships I have developed with the community, my team and the organisation. Today, I announce my retirement from the national hockey league as a player as this season draws to a close. My family are of the utmost importance to me right now and I feel this is in our best interest”
You drop the pillow in your hand and gawk at the tv “what the fuck”
“Mommy said a bad word!” Ryder shouts, reminding you that the kids were with you.
“You’d be saying bad words too if you knew what was going on” you replied, picking up your phone to text Mat.
Instead you found a text already on your phone from him
this is for you, for us. the nhl is your dream, not just mine.
You smile at the message and look back at the tv where mat is being hounded by the media on his bombshell announcement.
When Mat finally got finished with media and all that came with his announcement he managed to pick up his phone and wade through the messages from friends, coaches and family to find your name. Only to find you’d left him on read.
When he arrived home, your nanny had dropped the kids off at his airbnb so he didn’t get the chance to speak to you. The nanny, Rita had given him a pile of papers too. He suspected it was bills, school letters you’d asked her to pass along and they were discarded onto the countertop.
The weekend with the kids passed too quickly and before he knew it you were picking them up for your week. Between the kids, the media and the organisation Mat hadn’t gotten a chance to sit down until the middle of the week, sitting at his breakfast bar looking at the divorce papers sat unsigned on the counter.
Next to it was the papers Rita had dropped off, he picked them up and began flicking through. Bills, tuition payments and then a brown envelope addressed to you.
He frowned and opened it, pulling out a white paper, the exact same as the one on his counter yet this had your name on it. These were your divorce papers.
His eyes scanned the paper for your signature, it was nowhere to be found. Part of him felt hopeful, you wouldn’t have sent him this if it didn’t mean anything.
But it had been days since Rita gave him these and you hadn’t said anything, so did it mean what he thought it meant?
Before Mat made himself crazy thinking of the possibilities with this, he got in his car and made his way to your house. Not before a stop on the way.
It was late and he knew the kids would be asleep, so he knocked lightly on the door just praying you were awake.
He waited nervously until he saw the porch light flicker on and you appear at the door in your pyjamas
“Mat? What are you- it’s eleven o’clock”
“I know, but I had to come here because I got your papers” he rushes, watching as a sleepy smile is painted on your face
“I was wondering when you’d open them”
“I, I opened it and I hope it means what I think it means” he replies.
You nod softly “It means, come home Mat, it means let’s talk about this, it means you don’t have to retire just to fix us”
He shakes his head “I retired because, you were right. This is the Mat show, I want it to be the Barzal’s. I want to be able to see you at work, in everything you do and be so proud of you because you’re amazing. I accepted an offer with management so I’m not completely out of a job”
You nod with a laugh “Good, can’t have you being bored”
He then sighs heavily and adds “The day I first asked you out I said could really see this being something real and I just couldn't let you slip away. I’m not letting you slip away from me, now or ever”
At his confession you reach out to place a hand on his chest “I love you, Mathew”
He groans lowly and you laugh “Mat, baby, my angel. I love You”
“That’s better” he smiles. You notice his hand is behind his back and you raise your eyebrow skeptically.
“What you got there?”
He brings his hand out and when you see it you laugh through teary eyes “It’s ivy! There’s no flower shops open this late”

DCA PROMPTOBER - DAY 3
GOOGLY EYES
"Sun, we need to have a serious talk." you walked up to him one morning, arms crossed. It was too early for any parents or children, but they'd be arriving soon. So you needed to have your talk with him either now, or never.
Well maybe not never, but later in the day would be such a drag.
The bot was too busy rearranging a nearby tower of blocks to pay attention to you, though. He was sat on the floor, staring intently at the wooden structure as one hand reached out and placed another block on top. His other hand tapped a rhythm against the mat, "Good morning to you too, and I'm surprised you're capable of such a thing."
"Huh, snark before the morning even starts," you noted as you approached him, before settling across the robot on the floor. His rays, fluttering like always, stuck out from behind the tall blocks as you sat cross legged. You smiled and said, "Anymore and I'd say you're deflecting."
Sun was unfazed as he picked up another block, "Humor me for a moment, and let me know what on earth I would be deflecting?"
You squared your shoulders, staring at him like it was obvious, "Uh, I dunno? The fact that Claire informed me you requested for seventeen boxes of googly eyes! Which is obviously not in her already batshit budget for the daycare, so would you like to pay for them or should I?"
He placed the block on top of the current stack, "Well, if you're offering—"
"Finish that sentence and I'm telling the children it's slime day."
"Your threat is ineffective," Sun scoffed and waved you off, "You would also have to clean up afterward."
"Not if I leave, I don't," you stuck your tongue out. He huffed, and you added seriously, "But come on, what the hell?"
"Language!" he chided. And he hesitated for a second until he admitted, "And if you must know, I wanted to order them for arts and crafts."
"Well, no shit."
"Language!" he scolded, exasperated.
"Fine, fine," you sighed, and realized he had shifted to fully face you. Moving over to meet his gaze, without anything in between you two, you rose an eyebrow, "But seventeen boxes?"
"I thought it would be nice for the children and Moon and I. We'd like something to pass the time too," he went on, "And since we typically aren't allowed anything for ourselves, we thought..."
You furrowed your eyebrows as he trailed off. And contemplatively, you frowned. The next words to come out of your mouth would not be good for your bank account.
But they were your coworkers and since you saw them everyday, the two of them being sad wasn't an option. If only for your piece of mind, you would help him and Moon out. Yeah, that made sense.
Totally.
"So, I dunno about seventeen boxes," you began unsurely, "But, uh, maybe I can help with a few?"
Sun went quiet. But it took you longer to realize since he couldn't move his face, and you were waiting for his response. But the perpetual motion of his rays halted, and instead silence took over the playroom. Almost completely, as you two continued to stare at one another.
And it wasn't until you awkwardly coughed, however many minutes later, that you tried to joke, "Hey, anyone in there?"
"Hm?" like lightning, he shot up straight. And his rays spun once more as he sputtered, "Yes, we'd like—That would be nice—Thank you."
Weird, you'd never seen him like that.
"You're welcome." you said, observing his suddenly jittery movements. And he was quick to reach over for another block, intent on continuing the stack. And from where you sat you held back a smile, because what was some money for a few boxes of googly eyes and happiness?
WOOO DAY THREE!!! i just started typing and ended up with this, and im pretty happy with it hehe. and alas i work tomorrow but im gonna try my hardest to keep up with this!!!

you woke up to the sounds of birds, the gentle breeze coming from your open window. daddy left it open last night as you slept, knowing you were safe and the weather was nice, so why not? you pulled your covers up and whined, your daddy hearing you through your shared connection. he stopped his training in his private study and made his way to your bedroom quickly, not wanting you to fuss for too long.
“good morning, my love.” he told you, holding you in his arms as you opened your eyes. you blinked slowly, getting your bearings. you noticed your daddy’s welcoming expression and smiled, snuggled warmly in your blankets.
“good morning, daddy.” you said, stretching. your onesie was purple and green and was your daddy’s favorite, as he he thought it made you look adorable. he lightly tapped your nose and smiled.
“what sorts of trouble will we get into today?” he asked you, feeling silly and making you laugh.
“can we play today? outside, daddy?” you asked, excited. he nodded, smiling at you.
“of course we can, but first, you need to eat.” he told you, picking you up and taking you to the dining room. he sat you in your chair and placed a tablet in front of you as he made eggs, toast, and sausage. you watched holo cartoons as daddy cooked and you felt happy. you looked over at daddy who was scrambling the eggs and smiled, feeling safe.
daddy came over with your breakfast and drink, setting them down in front of you and giving you a kiss on top of your head. he began to feed you slowly so as to not overwhelm you and give you small sips of your drink as you needed. when you were all done, he took your dishes back and you thought you were free to play. you tried to run off.
“did you brush your teeth?” you heard him ask. “wash your hands?” you whined and sulked to the bathroom, washing your hands then getting your toothbrush ready. “good girl.” you heard behind you and saw your daddy. he helped you brush your teeth and once you were all done and clean, THEN you were free to play. you ran into your playroom, sitting down on your mat, and pulled out your building blocks, wanting to see how tall of a castle you could build.
“i thought you wanted to play outside?” your daddy came up behind you, questioning you. you nodded excitedly and put your blocks back into your toy bin, asking him to move them for you. he nodded and took your bin outside, you following excitedly behind him & clapping from joy. once you were outside, you breathed in the smell of nature and warmth and sunshine, sitting on a small blanket daddy had laid out for you. he set the blocks right next to it. your daddy very carefully placed a pacifier in your mouth as you played and he sat behind you, having you sit in his lap. wrapping his arms around you, he began to converse. “what are you building, hm?” he asked.
“i wanna see how tall of a castle i can build, daddy!” you said, pulling out the pacifier to speak. you put it back afterwards.
“oh, that’s exciting!” he told you, tickling your side and making you giggle. you continued to build and eventually the spire on top of your castle was swaying back and forth from the height of it. you chuckled to yourself.
“daddy, look!” you giggled, but the spire fell over, crashing. you felt the tears pool.
“no, baby, don’t cry.” he said, already sensing your change in emotions. “it was big, i saw it! it looked awesome!” he tried to cheer you up. you sniffled and nodded, trying to pick up your pieces. daddy sighed and began to help, stopping briefly to rub your back. “i know you’re sad,” he began. “but i’m here and we can build another one. maybe indoors, so the pieces don’t get lost?” he suggested and you nodded again, still sad. “what will make you feel better, baby?” he asked you, genuinely wanting to make you feel better. you shrugged.
“cuddles?” you asked sheepishly. daddy smiled and nodded. he picked up your toy bin and brought it back inside, setting it on the bench next to the window. you both went into the living room and cuddled on the couch, finishing watching your favorite show. daddy usually was very busy, but he must’ve taken time off for you today, which made you very happy.
eventually, lunch time came around and it was time for him to cook again. he picked you up, securing your bottom, and sat you down at the countertop bar overlooking the kitchen. you sat in one of the tall stools and watched as your daddy made chicken noodle soup. eventually, lunch was ready, and daddy brought two bowls of soup over. he picked up the spoon and began feeding you, even blowing on your food for you. he let you have a few sips of your drink as you needed and continued blowing on your food for you and feeding you. after awhile, you were all done and he began to eat his meal. he hadn’t realized how hungry he was but finished quickly enough, making you laugh.
“what?” he asked, mouth full of the last bite and making you giggle more. this made your daddy very happy. he took your dishes up and washed them, returning to you and placing a pacifier in your mouth and carrying you to the play room where your mat was. he set you down and watched as you played with a few toy cars as he picked up around you.
he put all of your toys into your bin (aside from the ones you were currently using of course), made your spare bed/cuddle pile, arranged your stuffed animals neatly, then finished by drawing your windows closed, signaling it was time for a nap. you looked around you, eyes low from sleepiness. your daddy chuckled at you, picking you up and placing you onto the bed. he had a spare onesie with him. “i think a new one is in order since you played outside in the this one.” he told you, changing you and tucking you in. you were a sleepy baby, and your daddy knew this. he turned off all the lights, leaving the room dark aside from the small bits of sunlight peaking from behind the window curtain. he watched as you dozed off, running his fingers along your cheek and admiring you. he loved you so much.
