truly videogames are such a good medium for stories where Something Is Wrong With Time... every game with a saving mechanic has a time travel function, be it acknowledged in universe or not. games can give you the option to experience pieces of story in a non-linear fashion or skip them entirely. time and timing is no longer bound to the confines of a movie's runtime or pages of a book...!

older brother gifted me the old family gamecube. i guess he hadn't booted it in a while because it is sadly malfunctioning. won't recognize any discs. i've done some research and the problem is at best something fixed using multiple specialized screwdrivers and a multimeter and at worst using multiple specialized screwdrivers and a soldering iron. so. i'm not fixing this gamecube.

List of Why The Fuck Didn't I Realise I Was Into Women Sooner #2: Catherine Zeta Jones's sword fight with Antonio Banderas in Mask of Zorro.
That part where her hair was hanging loose and wild and he'd cut the shoulder off her nightdress and she disarmed and advanced on him like an avenging Fury, eyes ablaze and breathing hard— fundamentally altered my brain chemistry. Haven't been the same person since.

I'm actually glad we live in a world where superpowers aren't the norm because personally I would've levelled cities over a inaccuracy in a movie.

Actually, I regret playing Forspoken. Because it hinted strongly towards a sequel, which will probably never see the light of day. 💀

Finally finished Ori and the Will of the Whisps after four years (it came out in like 2020 or something). It took me 22 hours but I like to wander and collect all the things. The end made me cry. I really like the themes of sacrifice and life going in cycles. But also fuck that conclusion for Shriek, poor thing got done dirty her whole life, she didn't choose shit. Still a very good game and a nice conclusion to the duology. If you like Metroidvanias definitely play these two. :)

Top five Jessica Rabbits, go!
Top five video games?
Ask Me My "Top 5" Anything....
Banjo-Kazooie. Hands down. Hands down, this is my favorite game. Not just because it's a great game but because I have a lot of happy memories of playing it with my parents. I grew up with this game. It is maybe the only game I've 100% completed (screw you, Canary Mary; YOU'RE THE REASON I HAVEN'T WITH THE SECOND GAME). And then I introduced friends in college to it. I just bought a copy for a friend's kid. I love this game.
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. This would be a close competitor for first if not for, you know, Banjo. This is the game that got me into reading fanfic! (But not the one that got me into writing fanfic. That belongs to Tales of Symphonia, which will not be on this list.) Am I saying this is a good game? No. Am I saying it's in my top five? YES.
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. I have told at least one person that if she ever buys a Switch I will buy this game for her. I love this game. (I have considered by the Playstation version for my dad because he also loves this game (we've seen some playthroughs) and he's said this is a game he can play! So. You know.)
Undertale. Like. Another game that I frequently recommend to people. I mean. It's Undertale. That said, I haven't gone back and played this in a while, which means maybe it shouldn't be on this list. Hm. (But the story and the music. AND CHARA.)
Enter the Gungeon. I've played a lot of games, and like. I'm not talking story. I have never beaten this game. (I'm no good at bullet hell games, y'all. I'm surprised I made it through Undertale on pacifist.) But I like playing it! It's low stakes! And I like having my little puppy companion! (I pretend that the character I play as is Luisa. It's fun! I know there are other options. But I want to play with the puppy companion!!)
