just saw Wicked at the cinema and when Elphaba did that final riff in Defying Gravity, everyone started laughing. I did too. I did too
#in my defense the flow of the scene is really really anticlimactic...#both bc the direction and the fact that i've been hearing the riff everywhere online exactly the way it's performed in the movie#should have used a different one in promos honestly.... so this one stays as a surprise.... and not a tiktok punchline...#anyway. it was way better than i thought it would be!!! but also nowhere near how impressive the show was#it is pretty obvious they didn't know how to portion songs and keep the momentum going even if scenes are longer and it is very very diffic#lt to get invested into a song when it turns to musicless dialogue every 30 seconds#shoutout to that one guy who really loudly said ''IS THIS POPULAR????'' when popular started playing and ''oh this is defying gravity'' whe#defying gravity started playing. a true ally#eernatalk
